Chapter 9 Madelyn and Spencer

I accept. Reid had said the words without hesitation or penitence.

The team looked at him. None of them would have had allowed him to accept those terms.

It was clear though that he was going to do this on his own accord. There was no stopping him.

"Uncuff me," Madelyn said turning herself so that Reid could undo her handcuffs.

Reid reached in his pocket to get his handcuff key.

"Reid, do not uncuff her, that is an order." Hotch quickly said.

Reid turned to Hotch. "She isn't going to hurt me. I am not going to hurt her. I give you my word." Reid proceed to uncuff Madelyn.

She lightly rubbed her wrists as she sat on the bench. "You are such an honorable man," Madelyn said. She then glanced sideways at Hotch. "You have my word; I won't hurt him."

Madelyn then looked at Morgan with a smile. "You can give everything to him. I think I like him."

Reid took off his gun and then his cell phone and placed them on the table with the bag.

"Kid, don't do this." Morgan said. "You know you can't. . ."

Reid didn't say anything, instead he gave Hotch and the rest of a team a look. This was for Henry in his mindset.

"Place your hands on the table," Madelyn ordered.

Reid did what he was told.

Madelyn got up and stood directly behind Reid.

The team watched in abhorrence as Madelyn proceeded to frisk Reid.

"This is the first time that I actually did this," Madelyn said as she ran her hands down Reid legs. She stood and leaned in to whisper in his ear. It was clear that she was enjoying this. "How did I do?"

"You did fine," Reid kept his voice steady. He was keeping himself grounded for Henry. He turned and looked at Madelyn.

"You can frisk me if you want," Madelyn said, taking Reid's hands.

"I trust you," Reid said.

No one on the team trusted her.

Madelyn turned and looked at the team. "They will go back to their offices. We'll let them know if there are further instructions."

Reid looked back at the team. He gave them a nonverbal statement to do what was told.

"Don't follow us." Madelyn said.

Reid shook his head slightly.

Madelyn then took Reid's arm, as though they were going on a romantic stroll and walked towards the parking lot.

Hotch quickly gave an order to the rest of the agents to stand down.

"Hotch, we can't let them go," Morgan quickly said.

"There's nothing else we can do," Hotch said. "Reid is concerned with Henry's safety. This will be the only way to get him home."

If Madelyn saw anyone she suspected of being an agent she would hurt Henry. That was why the Agents had to stand down.

The team watched them leave until they were out of sight.

There would not be a way to follow, they would have to figure out what car she left in and track it from there.

"Do we just sit and wait now?" Prentiss said. She did not like this just as much as the rest of them.

Rossi turned for a moment and looked at the Agents behind them. There was someone coming towards them quickly.

"It's J.J." Rossi said.

The rest of the team turned and saw J.J. and Will running towards them.

The rest of the team quickly went to meet them.

"Where is Henry?" J.J. quickly asked.

"Listen, Madelyn and Reid are gone." Morgan said.

"Gone, what do you mean gone?" Will asked.

Morgan kept himself calm. "Reid made a deal with Madelyn. She's going to take him to Henry."

"You just let him leave with her, without backup." Will said.

"Reid, made his decision." Morgan said. "He's doing everything that he can."

"I'm going to kill that bitch." J.J. said.

"Right now we need to find her." Hotch said. "Do you still have the geographical profile you built in the office?"

"Yes," J.J. said.

"Was there anywhere else you saw on there."

"No there wasn't." J.J. answered. "This was the place she watched him the most."

"Maybe he's going somewhere connected to her and not him." Rossi said.

"There isn't anything left." Morgan said. "Her obsession has been with him."

"Agent Hotchner," one of the Agents came running up towards them.

"What is it," Hotch asked.

"Sir, I know you ordered us to stand down." The Agent quickly said. "I was searching the parking lot. I saw Agent Reid get into a car. Here is the make and model."

Reid and Madelyn walked over to the parking lot. She walked in between the cars until she came to what looked like a rental.

"Get in," Madelyn said. "I'm driving."

Reid got into the passenger seat. Madelyn got in and started pulling out of the parking lot.

Reid noted how she looked over her surroundings. She was making sure that they were not being followed.

Madelyn started driving away from the park. She took several turns until she got on the main road.

"We are finally getting to where we can be alone." Madelyn said with a smile.

"We can get to know each other finally." Reid said. He still maintained himself, he had to make sure that she fooled.

"I know everything about you. I read everything you published."

"My colleagues don't even do that." Reid said.

"They weren't the subjects for your psych articles were they."

"I can't divulge that information."

Reid watched her driving. She was purposefully driving around in circles. She was trying to shake any possible tails that she had.

They drove off the main road.

Madelyn pulled in behind an SUV, similar to the ones that they used with the bureau.

"Get out," she said to Reid with a smile.

They both got out of the car into the other one.

Reid knew what she was doing, hiding her trail.

Madelyn got behind the wheel again with Reid in the passenger seat.

She didn't drive away, she instead leaned over to take Reid's hand. She placed her fingers over his pulse point. "Your heart's racing. So is mine."

"Its been an exciting day." Reid responded.

"Its going to get more exciting," Madelyn said leaning in to kiss Reid.

Reid leaned in accepting the kiss.
