Recap time, True Believers! Sauron has taken the throne of Monster Island and put his plan into motion but Deadpool, Spidey, Kitty and the Royal Guard are bringing the fight to him. An enhanced Itsy Bitsy is confronting the Royal Guard while Wade ad our heroes are dealing with hordes of Sauron Loyalists, not to mention that Kitty has gone into "Berserker Mode"…let's hope things do get better from here.

SPIDER-MAN AND KITTY PRYDE: ROYAL PAINS

Chapter 12: Take Back the Throne, Part 3 – We're having Technical Difficulties

Spider-Man and Deadpool became witnesses of something unique, unexpected and probably the fuel of nightmares in years to come: Kitty Pryde gone into full "Berserker Mode" thanks to Deadpool's constant talking, frequent annoyance and a long list of crazy antics that drained her patience until she exploded, striking fully against a new barrage of monsters using Deadpool's own katanas.

Kitty slashes through the monsters, leaving them deep scars accompanied by grunts ad roars of fury, pent up rage brought by the entire ordeal she is going through, all the while Spidey, Wade, Lockheed and Jeff follow her, keeping their distance and fighting whatever remnant she leaves, heading from floor to floor with the same result: battered, bruised and bloodied monsters beaten by Kitty's "Berserker Rage".

"This would probably sound inappropriate but is she that aggressive in the sack?" Wade throws that question at Spidey "Just look at her go! Maybe she'll throw you into the bed and pummel you into submission" he adds while he fights against a pair of furry monsters, but what he gets in response is a fireball from Lockheed for his lewd comments.

"I know I'm literally asking for a miracle so COULD YOU SHUT UP!?" Spidey exclaims while he envelops the group of monsters in a large package of webs.

"I must say, I am surprised that she is not killing them, she's going for the wound and all, but gotta say, being in that Wolverine Patented Berserker normally adds that killer instinct in it, and I know because I've been on the receiving end of the OG, if you know what I mean" Wade keeps talking as he tries to keep up the pace, going from floor to floor covering the entire route, however, they reach a 'roadblock' when they discover a strange energy barrier across the elevator door and the stairway access.

"This is definitively odd" Spidey speaks while he puts a hand over it, but he is pushed to the other side of the room by a burst of energy "OW! Damn!" he exclaims while he tries to stand up, with Lockheed throwing fireballs and Jeff trying to ram it with his head, all the results to no avail.

Kitty stands there, breathing heavily due to her state of Berserker, hitting the barrier with the katanas to attempt to make at least a dent but there is no harming it. She starts to calm down, thinking rationally and try to come up with an idea, leading her to raise her hand and try to phase the barrier. She starts to push her hand through the barrier, and while she does manage to phase it through, she starts to feel a sharp pain that forces her to pull away, holding her hand in pain.

"UGHN!" Kitty groans in pain, prompting Spidey and Lockheed to come closer to her and help her out.

"Kitty! You OK?" Spidey asks with concern in his voice, to which Kitty nods her head in response.

"Already calmed down" Kitty replies under her breath "I can phase through the barrier but…that energy is very painful, making it hurtful to just walk through it" she explains why she feels pain "And the oddest thing is that…I felt that energy before" she reveals, believing that she has already bumped into a barrier of that sort before.

"Actually Ms. Pryde, I'm sure you, of all people, should be familiarized with the energy around this room" the voice of Sauron is heard, now appearing in front of them through an hologram "Once upon a time, I was working for Kade Kilgore's Hellfire Academy, and he was powered by the mystic energies of the Siege Perilous, creating a powerful barrier of protection" he explains, confirming Kitty's suspicion.

"Now I remember…" Kitty mutters, remembering that time when she, alongside Storm, Rachel, Iceman, Warbird, Wolverine and the rest of the then Jean Grey School staff members raided the Hellfire Academy.

"Well, it's obvious that I don't have that Siege Perilous, but I was able long ago to somewhat replicate its energy signature" Sauron explains "It's not exactly equal but it's close enough, so you can go through it…but you'll end up in quite a lot of pain for a little while and I doubt you're the king of masoquist people to make it through, pain and all, so…Trip's over! BWAAAAHAHAHAHAHA!" he finishes his transmission with a loud chuckle, disappearing in front of them and leaving them to their frustration.

"Oh if that Jurassic Park ripoff thinks he's done with us…Believe me, I'm more than willing to stick one of my katanas down his pants, which reminds me" Wade comments, and then turns towards Kitty "Are you done with your rampaging tantrum so I can have my katanas back?" he asks her and her response is, bizarrely, a smile.

"Sure" Kitty kindly replies, but then she glares at him and stab his shoulders with the katanas, knowing that his Healing Factor will heal him rapidly "All yours…" she mutters gritting her teeth and then walks away and looks up at the ceiling "I think I'm having an idea…Lock, could you help me up here?" she asks for help from Lockheed, who approaches her and lifts her to fly as she becomes intangible, successfully phasing half of her body through the ceiling, lowering right away "Seems that this barrier only applies to walls and doors" she tells them, giving them a new opening for their plan.

"Alright! This is the best news we got right now!" Spidey exclaims, looking at Wade and the companions "Now what?"

"We could blow our way up" Wade comments while he pulls his katanas off his shoulders "OW!" then he starts to check the pockets of his suit but he only pulls out one grenade "Aw Shucks! A ridiculous amount of pockets and only have one grenade left!?" he complains, to which Kitty, Lockheed and –in spite of the mask- Spidey roll their eyes.

"Save it" Kitty replies "Lock, lift me up again and this time, let's go further" she explains to him her idea, to which Lockheed nods in response.

"Rwoooo!" Lockheed exclaims and once again grabs Kitty, lifting her up through the ceiling thanks to her phasing powers, going through each floor, finding it surprisingly empty all the way, but they quickly pull down when they reach the last floor, meaning that they found Sauron's new throne room "Alright, this is it" Kitty whispers to Lockheed as they go down to the floor "Stand by Lock" she whispers at him and then kneels on the center of the room "Alright Kitty…concentrate" she then closes her eyes, concentrating on channeling her strength, slowly clenching her fist until she starts punching it to the floor, creating a crack that grows with each blow until she successfully breaks it, falling down below to connect another punch to break the floor thanks to the momentum, punching each floor until she returns to the one where the rest of the group are, jumping away just as it breaks and the dust slowly starts to settle.

"YES!" Spidey exclaims happily "I told you that practicing would pay things off!" he laughs a little as he sees Kitty coming out of the dust alongside Lockheed.

"MRRRR?" Jeff asks a bit confused while Deadpool dusts off his suit.

"Seems that Miss Pryde floated all the way up and then punched her way down back to create an opening to our enemy" Wade explains to Jeff what just happened "It's the good ol' 'Recent Development that no other writer has bothered to exploit yet' trick" he quips while he applauds Kitty's stunt "I'm honestly surprised Hickman or my boy Gerry haven't gone through what Zdarsky pulled" he talks to Jeff who still looks at him confused.

"How you feeling?" Spidey asks Kitty as he approaches her.

"Good actually" Kitty replies "It gets easier the more I do it, but you know this thing about my powers is still a work in progress" she adds, referencing to still developing power of increasing her density, allowing her to gain super-strength.

"OK then, let's go up and get this over with" Spidey replies, holding Kitty by the waist as he shoots a web-line up and jump to go through it, while Wade simply begins to jump from floor to floor.

"Sure, leave me to jump and take the long way up, while holding a slightly heavy land baby shark" Wade complains in the middle of his jumps.

"MRRRF!" Jeff growls at Wade.

"You're the one who chomps everything in sight! Seriously, you have to go on a diet" Wade complains as he reaches the group "So…this is it?" he asks them while he puts Jeff down.

"The top floor is Sauron's Throne Room" Kitty replies "Now's a good time to use that grenade" she extends her hand, requesting for that grenade.

"You're so smarty-pants, are ya?" Wade gives her the stink eye, to which Kitty glares at him.

"You want me to phase your heart and shove it down your throat?" Kitty threatens him.

"No ma'am" Wade replies with a squeaky voice as he quickly gives her the grenade.

"Note to self: Never, ever, piss her off" Spidey mutters to himself as he stands guard while Kitty floats with the grenade in hand, removing the pin just as she phases it through the ceiling up to the last floor "Fire in the Hole!" she floats down and holds on Spidey ad Lockheed while Wade covers Jeff. The grenade explodes, paving the way for them to go up and reach Sauron's Throne Room, but before they could each make a move, Spidey's head begins to buzz, signaling the incoming danger through his Spider-Sense "Uh-Oh, Guys, get ready for…AGH!" he fails to complete the phrase since a set of tentacles grabs all of them and pull them up to the Throne Room.

A large yellow tentacle creature brings the group up, now being surrounded by an assortment of creatures: a blue ogre-like creature holding a mace, a purple bird-like creature with sharp claws and large wings, a red draconian creature with underbite fangs holding a wooden hammer and a black squid-headed creature holding a pair of axes.

"Hello, my soon-to-be dead pests" Sauron starts to mock them "You made it through after all, I congratulate you for that, but mark my words, this is the end of the road to you" he points at them from his throne "Now is time for you to meet my new Royal Guard!" he exclaims while the tentacle creature slams the group of heroes to the floor.

MEANWHILE, WITH THE OTHER ROYAL GUARD

Deadpool's Royal Guard started with good footing their battle against Itsy Bitsy, but they were unaware that Sauron gave her enhancements to her physiology, giving her an upgrade to her powers to the point of allowing her to transform into a humanoid arachnid creature, boosting her strength and arachnid outward appearance. The Royal Guard tried their best but Itsy Bitsy is keeping the battle on her side, practically playing with the members of the Royal Guard.

"You boys are really keeping this fun!" Itsy Bitsy exclaims as she pummels the small versions of Kohlaab, tossing them around the room to keep him dispersed "You know what I've just realized? This Royal Guard doesn't have a female member aboard! My deposed King Daddy sure is misogynist!" she exclaims while she jumps at Chet Morita, catching him so she could throw him against one of the walls.

"Chet!" the Night Wolf exclaims as he tries to stand up, reeling from the recent attack received as he clutches his blade. Zrrgo and Bün-Bün try to form the next wave, with the furry monster firing his eye-beams at Itsy Bitsy, who dodges them with ease and then she slashes Zrrgo with her claws, jumping towards Bün-Bün to grab him by the head with her upper hands and hold his arms with her middle arms, proceeding to punch him repeatedly at the gut with her lower hands. She turns to see Zrrgo trying to run at her, but she quickly shoots an acidic spit to the floor, causing him to tumble and fall.

"I have acid spitting!? I AM SO #$%&+*% AWESOME!" Itsy Bitsy exclaims raising her arms, but that brief moment of distraction gives the remaining members of the Royal Guard the space to attack her, with Quonian aiming at her sides and the Night Wolf aiming at her head, but Itsy Bitsy blocks his attacks while she grabs the green alien and slams him down to the floor "Is this the best you got?" she taunts them while the Night Wolf holds on his blade and stares defiantly at her.

"I will not yield to you!" the Night Wolf exclaims "If this be my end, it'll be fighting" he mutters, rushing against her to strike her, managing to slash one of her arms, but she slashes her claws on his back, causing him to drop his blade down.

"I think this is the last dance" Itsy Bitsy quips as she looks at him "I was thinking about keeping you as a pet, put you on a nice leash and force you into a purse like a little Chihuahua, but then I'd look like that stupid spoiled #$%&+ of Paris Hilton so Ew…" she then grabs him by the neck "So instead, I'll tear you limb by limb and make the rest of your buddies watch your slow and painful death" she then slams him on the floor, pinning him there under her feet while she uses her arms to grab each limb of the Night Wolf and starts to stretch them, trying to break them out and tear him apart, but suddenly a whistling sound is heard and Itsy Bitsy stops her actions "What the…?" she looks down and realizes that she has been shot on her stomach, but then she starts hearing the constant beeping inside her body "Again, What the…?" this time her question is interrupted when she suddenly explodes in half leaving her legs on one side and the upper half of her body on another side.

"What? Who's…?" the Night Wolf starts to recover and then lifts his sight to look a silhouette emerging from a far point on the entrance, holding a rifle and walking slowly towards them, but as soon as the Night Wolf recognizes who it is…he sighs in relief "Blessed the eyes that see you, Lady Elsa!"

"I leave this island for one week and Wade already leaves it in a #$%&+*% mess" the famous Monster Hunter Elsa Bloodstone, who also happens to be Deadpool's new girlfriend and ally of the Royal Guard, arrives to the scene with her trusty rifle and a smirk on her face "Now, can any of you boys fill me up on the details of what I've missed and who's this #$%&+ I'm about to deal with?" she poses the question as she aims her rifle at Itsy Bitsy.

"I'll try my best to fill you in milady" the Night Wolf replies "King Wade granted asylum to a man called Sauron" he begins to explain.

"Sauron!? He allowed that #$%&+*&% to be here!?" Elsa exclaims as she fires her rifle but Itsy Bitsy manages to dodge it by jumping to the side and reach her legs, managing to grab them.

"He was warned by Spider-Man and his companion Shadowcat about him, but then he not only captured them, but he also managed to exploit the laws by staging a fake death of Wade and usurp the throne" the Night Wolf explains while he helps his fellow members stand up.

"I understand Spider-Man but Shadowcat? Where have I heard that name before?" Elsa asks while she shoots at Itsy Bitsy again "Anyways, that settles part of what I've missed, now, who's this Spider-#$%&+?" she fires another shot at Itsy Bitsy.

"HEY! My name! Is ITSY! BITSY!" Itsy Bitsy exclaims as she yanks the rifle off Elsa's hands with a web-line, just as she manages to reattach her legs and allow her Healing Factor to kick in.

"She's a creature that possesses the combined genetics of Spider-Man and our King, Lady Elsa" the Night Wolf concludes his recap while he holds his blade, standing by Elsa.

"Healing Factor…#$%&" Elsa mutters "This will require a different game, where's Wade?" she asks him.

"He's at the top dealing with Sauron alongside Spider-Man and Shadowcat" the Night Wolf replies "Royal Guard! Prepare to strike!" he orders the Guard to stand, ready to retake their advantage and bring an end to their part now that the Monster Hunter herself has joined their side.

MEANWHILE, IN MANHATTAN

A group of gargoyle creatures has landed right in front of the Krakoan Gate at the Washington Square Park, staring at the gate for a few seconds until the leader faces the rest of the group.

"For the King" the leader mutters and then unleashes a loud growl as he rushes to the gate, successfully walking through it thanks to Sauron's intervention adding them Jelby's genetic template, granting them the necessary X-Gene to walk through the gates and complete the mission tasked by him of attacking the X-Men. Now, the people of Krakoa will know about King Sauron.

A "Short but Sweet" chapter full of action, and of course, Elsa Bloodstone finally steps into action! I previously said that she may or may not join the story, I just wanted to see how things would end up after Issue #9 of the current (and apparently soon-to-be cancelled) Deadpool series, and now that their romance is official, might as well bring it around here.

So now, Elsa helps the Royal Guard, while Wade, Spidey and Kitty must deal with Sauron's own Royal Guard and remember the gargoyles Sauron sent to Krakoa? Well, next chapter, the mutants will have to deal with that. See you next chapter to find out how that visit to Krakoa will fare!
