Forgiveness

Chapter 11

Yua stood in the hallway, trying to calm herself down from the initial panic. As soon as she had felt Hisoka's aura, her heart began to race, her breathing was frantic, and her thoughts were going a million miles an hour. A mix of fear and excitement was whirling around her body, making her want to sprint in both directions; towards him and away, far away. It took a few moments for her to take back control over her mind and body. She focused on herself and her aura, glad to feel that her In still held strong, hiding her presence from Hisoka.

Yua grinned, realising this was her chance to watch him without his awareness, maybe even gain an upper hand to prove her strength. She managed to finally shake off the feeling of fear, but the sense of excitement was still lingering. Her heart continued to pound and with such force that Yua could see her t-shirt vibrating with the beat. She clutched at her chest as if to physically slow her heart but had to focus on each deep inhale and exhale before it responded.

Yua creeped forward, she didn't know why Hisoka had suddenly appeared, but she knew she would have to be careful to stay hidden. She quickly rounded the corner onto the main hallway and hid behind the closest pillar. Hisoka was at the end of the hallway which Gon-Kun and Killua-Kun would've had to walk down, following the signs to the registration desk. His arm was outstretched, releasing a murderous aura down that hallway, that would make even the strongest people turn tails and run. Strangely, Yua noticed the receptionist was standing close to the hallway, her pink hair was billowing around her head, getting caught on her arms, which were raised to protect her face. It was amazing that a Non-Nen user would be able to withstand this force, but Yua supposed she might be used to this kind of situation.

Hisoka hadn't yet averted his gaze from the hallway so Yua took advantage of his focus being elsewhere to move and get a closer look. Suddenly, she gasped and threw herself up against the nearest wall. Hisoka's aura had ceased and Yua thought she had been spotted. After a moment of tense silence, she began to hear the murmurings of a conversation between him and the two young boys, and relaxed a little. She focused her Gyo to her ears so she could hear their words, hoping to hear the key as to why Hisoka was targeting Gon-Kun and Killua-Kun.

'Just kidding, this is no coincidence. I've been waiting for you.' Hisoka purred to the young boys, smiling in a way which hid his malicious nature. Yua felt a stab of jealousy rip through her stomach. She had spent years searching for Hisoka and only managed to bump into him once before, in East Gorteau. Even then, he had left as soon as he stole the Kurta eyes from her. It was obvious from this exchange, that his interest in these boys was far greater than his interest in her. Yua narrowed her eyes in anger but tried to put her feelings to one side so she could focus on the rest of the conversation.

'It's too early for you boys to step on this floor. Leave for now. I won't let you pass, not that you could anyway.' Hisoka gracefully sank to sit of the floor. He looked as if he could be relaxing in a park with the way he leant back against the wall, one of his legs bent up for his arm to rest on whilst the other arm stretched out towards the hallway. He sighed to himself and smirked before letting out the wrath of this aura again.

Though Yua agreed with Hisoka, that Gon-Kun and Killua-Kun were not ready for this floor, she hissed in anger at the sounds of their grunts of effort and pain as they shuffled forward in futility. Yua could feel the strength of the aura from her hiding spot. It crashed over her like a wave which threatened to drag everyone it touched to the depths of ocean darkness. The willpower of the young boys astounded Yua. They continued to struggle against the overwhelming forces with a determination she had never seen before.

Willpower wouldn't get them through this though. Yua could hear the pain rising in their voices and closed her eyes willing them to stop and leave. Any longer and Yua would have to step in to save them. Though she was certain she was no match for Hisoka, she could at least draw his attention away from them so they could escape. Yua was about to intervene when she heard a new voice echo down the hall.

'Don't be reckless. You have no defences against his Nen.' At the appearance of this new person, Hisoka's aura stopped once more. Yua expelled a quiet breath of relief, immediately relaxing now someone had stepped in to help. This allowed her to continue to stay hidden and not lose her advantage. She had however, lost focus of the Gyo but could catch some of the voices and understand the gist of the conversation being held. It seemed this new guy, Wing or Beak or something birdy like that, was going to teach Gon-Kun and Killua-Kun Nen so they could get past Hisoka before the registration deadline in a few hours. Yua smirked, if it had been anyone else, she would think them crazy, but these boys were something special.

It was only a few moments after this was agreed that Gon-Kun, Killua-Kun and their new teacher were off the floor, quickly heading off to get as much training done as possible before returning to face Hisoka again. Yua focused back on Hisoka now. Though his aura had stopped, he hadn't moved from the floor, determined to stay and block their registration when they returned.

'Are you going to come out now?' Hisoka's silky voice tickled Yua's ear though he was still in front of her. Her eyes widened. How long had he known she was there? She cursed to herself but moved out of her hiding place, removing her In at the same time. 'Ah Little one, I was wondering when I would next see you. Seems that you've found out about my temple of fighting.' He gestured around in a gleeful manner and rose to his feet to face her.

'I can see why you like it here, though I can't say the floors below were very fun.' Yua crossed her arms and pouted in mock disappointment.

'Ah yes, luckily for me I'm a veteran of this place, so whenever I feel the need to try out that latest crop of floor masters, they send me straight here. It's a bit of a pain to have to complete the 200s first but sometimes I get a nice surprise.'. He held his hand to his face, creating a ring around his eye with his thumb and index finger as if spying her through a glass. He then turned back towards the hallway with his hand still raised. 'Many surprises this time. It should be very entertaining for me.'.

Yua stared at the man in front of her. He clearly thought all of this was a game and enjoyed playing with people, but she couldn't help but feel a desire within her to play along and try to win. She placed her hands on her hips and cocked her head to the side. Trying to decide the best way to have a little fun herself. 'How did you know I was here?'.

Hisoka laughed and placed a hand on his hip as if to mimic her. 'Your arrival on the floor wasn't exactly subtle Little-one and only a short while ago, you were pronouncing your aura all over the floor again. You were quite hard to miss.'. Yua flushed, she had completely forgotten she had done that. At that time, she wasn't even thinking of Hisoka finding her, just the need to find the intimidators before it was too late, it had been foolish. She opened her month to retort but was silenced by her own mistake, unable to talk her way out of it. Hisoka took on a mischievous grin and condescending tone. 'Were you looking for me Little-one? You needed to only ask my room number at reception if you craved to finish what we started in East Gorteau.'.

Yua now went the colour of a beetroot, angry and embarrassed that she was already on the back foot of this conversation. 'No!' She shouted, though even she didn't believe the word as it escaped her lips.

'What's wrong my Little-one? Jealous that I have other toys to play with?'. Hisoka jabbed at her playfully, trying to push her temper further, intrigued to see what would happen.

When he spoke these words, they jolted into Yua like an electric shock making her take a step back in surprise. The fire which had been slowly building in her belly suddenly changed from a school-girl's embarrassment to a deep-seeded anger which flowed through her veins, fuelling her muscles with power. She stood taller, with more confidence and controlled the rage, dampening it slightly with the thought of hurting him. Hisoka was still smiling, his amber eyes dancing with a malicious victory, certain he had shaken her. It was fun to play with his toys, especially when he knew which buttons to press. Finding them were a part of the fun though and Yua wouldn't give him the satisfaction of knowing he had hit a sensitive spot.

'I don't care, so long as I'm still your favourite.'. The words dripped off of her tongue with delicious teasing, challenging Hisoka to play with her. Now it was her turn to mess with him. She allowed wisps of her true feelings of anger and bloodlust to twist within her aura, knowing he would sense it amongst the tension she was feeling between them. She ran her fingers through her hair, flicking her hand to make her hair wilder, untamed. She met his eyes, which had darkened at her sudden show of confidence, and gave him a flirtatious laugh, knowing her words had had the desired effect.

Hisoka averted his eyes and mimicked her again, running his hand through his scarlet hair, though he pulled any loose strands back into line. 'You are my favourite Little-one, but they will soon take your place if you can't keep me interested.' He sharply made eye contact again, wanting to see if he could break her confidence.

Yua didn't let any emotion creep on to her face but stayed silent, never backing away from his penetrating gaze. She wanted him to make the first move, it would give her enough information to make a counterstrike against him, hopefully effective enough to bridge the gap in their abilities. The tension was building between them, welling up within the hallway and expanding across the floor. Yua was certain anyone who could feel it would stay clear of their stand-off. Their auras grew, filling with emotion and power, igniting red sparks each time they touched.

Suddenly, Hisoka sliced through the moment with a chuckle and gave her an endearing smile. He pointed towards her and then crooked his finger, beckoning her closer as you would a child or pet. 'Well Little-One. Why don't you come over here?'. His inviting smile didn't fool Yua, but she complied regardless, slowly walking forward, dropping her eye contact to lazily look over his figure. She made her way from his dark, heeled boots, up the length of his white, pink and black outfit, up to the point of his scarlet hair. Her eyes lingered slightly on the pink bands which wrapped around Hisoka's wrists and biceps, wondering what marks and mischief they were hiding. As she drew closer, she grabbed his eyes again and then provocatively bit her lip, drawing a small drop of blood which she smeared across her bottom lip with her tongue.

Yua saw his eyes immediately dilated at the sight of her blood and felt his aura being to pulse with excitement. She smirked and took a final step to close the gap between them. They were now close enough that their bodies were lightly brushing each time one of them took a breath. Hisoka was at least twice as broad as her and stood over a foot taller and yet she felt confident stood next to him. She placed her hand against his chest over the red diamond on his black shirt, feeling the muscles beneath the material twitch under her touch. Yua looked at her hand over his heart, fondly thinking about her Nen ability, but this wasn't the time to use, though it was fun to think of him powerless and broken at her feet.

Yua now looked up into his face, wanting to see the effect she was having on him. Hisoka's head was lulled back, his eyes were closed, and his lips were slightly parted in a silent moan. He was clearly enjoying her teasing.

This was her chance. She quickly pounced forward, pushing Hisoka to the floor. She landed hard on top of him, her full body weight pressing down on his chest to keep him still. Yua used her left arm and her right leg to pin Hisoka's wrists to the floor, as a further measure of control. Using her free hand, she dragged a knife from her trouser pocket and held it against the nape of his neck. She was panting with the exhilaration of being able to get Hisoka in such a vulnerable position. It had only taken milliseconds to take him down and take control but Yua was certain he could take over at any moment, so she'd have to keep alert.

Beneath Yua, Hisoka's rapid breath matched her own. He didn't seem concerned about the situation and seemed to be enjoying himself instead. Yua could feel his body thrumming beneath her with an eagerness and lust that seeped through his aura and surround the pair. She applied more pressure to the knife and lent down. Her lips brushed against Hisoka's ear, as he had done to her in East Gorteau.

'Does this keep you interested?' She dragged her teeth across his ear, leaving a trail of blood from her wounded lip. Yua pulled back and sat up, seeing Hisoka's eyes were glued to her. They contained a wildness that he was struggling to keep under control, wanting to see what she would do next. She had his full attention.

Yua felt a surge of power wave over her body, brimming her with a confidence that only a woman could feel. Her aura was entwining with his, matching it in strength and force. It was building with all her emotions which she now freely exposed to him. The anger at his previous words, the jealous she had felt earlier and the pleasure of being so close to him. He could feel it all. Their hair was whipping around in the aura, dancing to a rhythm which was only theirs to share. Hisoka stared at her, entranced by her strength and confidence, thinking she look so tasty when she thought she was in control.

Yua broke the moment, not wanting to spend too long getting lost with him, not knowing where it would lead her. 'I can't say I'm very happy with you Hisoka. You steal from me in East Gorteau and now you are messing with people I like.'. She spoke the works in a tone a teacher would use to reprimand a disappointing student, now moving the knife to lightly trace the shape of his throat.

'Hhmm,' Hisoka cocked an eyebrow at her, 'You know Gon and Killua? Aren't they something special Little one?'. He narrowed his eyes, flicked his tongue over his lips. Yua's eye twitched. Here she was astride of him, using her strength to hold him down and yet his praised the boys. To top it off, he spoke Gon and Killua's name but had never called her more than a pet name. She snarled at his words, unable to reign in her annoyance any longer. Yua moved her left arm from Hisoka's wrist and gripped his jaw, trying to crush bones with her fingers. It had been a hasty, unthought out move, and it had been a mistake.

Hisoka quickly moved his now free hand causing Yua to flinch, preparing herself for the oncoming pain from whatever strike he would choose. It didn't come. Instead his hand landed on the small of her back and pushed her down, so their faces were now nose to nose. Yua's still bleeding lip released a droplet of blood onto Hisoka's lip but a quick flick of his tongue captured it. Confusion flashed across her eyes and Hisoka chuckled at her innocence. He was now obviously letting her maintain the upper hand, but it was a rouse, he was clearly in control.

Yua was frustrated now, he was playing with her, making her feel like she held all the power when it was never hers to start with. She growled, wanted him to take her seriously. Her hand still around his jaw and knife still pressed to his throat, Yua pushed his face to the side and held it against the floor baring his neck to her. She let her knife pinch into his skin and lightly dragged it from the base up to where it met his jaw, hard enough to draw blood but soft enough to leave the threat of more hanging in the air. A small stream of blood escaped and Yua eyed it greedily, wanting to taste him as he had her. She ran her tongue lightly up the length of the wound, enjoying the metallic taste filling her mouth. Hisoka groaned beneath her and dug a fingernail into her back where his hand rested. He ran it up her spine, marking her as she had him.

'You are full of surprises Little one.' He purred, his voice deep and heavy but slightly breathless. She had definitely piqued his interest.

Yua pulled away from him and smirked. Now getting some of the recognition she wanted, she immediately jumped off him, equally breathless but trying to keep her composure.

'Come back, now.' Hisoka ordered, though he had raised himself up to his elbows getting ready to grab her if she declined.

Yua was too quick, and jumped back to the end of their hallway, knowing he wouldn't follow in case Gon-Kun and Killua-Kun returned.

'I'll see you soon.' She turned her back to him and stalked down the hall, with a final uncaring wave over her shoulder as if nothing had happened.

Hisoka didn't move but followed her aura all the way back to her room which she seemed to have purposely left exposed to him in a final tease.

'How delicious.' He licked his lips, remembering the sweet taste of her blood. His fingers found their way to the cut on his neck and wiped away the tiny bit of blood she had left behind. It had been a while since anyone had left a mark on him, though he had almost instigated it himself. His eyes closed in ecstasy, replaying the moments in his mind.

After all these years, she was still a temptation that would challenge his ability to resist. Hisoka wanted to see her true strength when she fought in her first 200s fight. He would have to wait at least that long, to find out if she was ready for him.
