13. Chapter 13

The Mystery In Equestria

Author's note: I do not own my little pony in any way shape or form. Nor do I own Skyrim the elder scrolls.

Lightningbolt1423: it isn't that he turned half dragon he simply gained their sense of sight, smell and hearing plus the addition of scales now covering the feathers on his wings, and I agree it was sad to write but with how I wanted him to eventually get the small dragon I couldn't think of a better way aside from how I wrote it. Filler: takes place after discord is sealed away by the elements. The mane six as well as a few others will all be close in age and height consisting of Twilight age 19 5'7, Rarity age 21 5'6, Rainbow Dash age 18 5'5, AppleJack age 20 5'9, Pinkie Pie age 19 5'4, and Fluttershy age 22 5'7, Gilda age 19 5'8, Silver age 220 6'8, Spitfire age 23 5'9.

Chapter 13: The Baby

*Recap*

With the cave sealed he looked out in the direction ponyville was in, seeing that it had started to get dark meaning that he was in the cave longer than he first thought. Carefully taking to the air so as to not disturb the little dragon that was peacefully sleeping on his back he started to fly back to his home, ready to go to sleep as the day took its toll on him mentally and physically. It didn't take as long for him to see ponyville in the distance as he started to fly in the direction of where his house would be. While he was flying he noticed that the flaps of his wings were quieter then they were, chalking it up to the now scale covered feathers allowing less wind to pass through where the gaps that once were there but no longer are.

Seeing his house getting closer Silver slowed down as to have a softer landing, not that his hooves were on the ground he folded up his wings as he started to walk to his door as he heard three voices from inside, bracing himself at the onslaught of questions he was more than likely going to receive. Once he was ready Silver entered his home and closed the door alerting the occupants that he knew he was back. Stepping out of the hallway and into the living room he looked at the familiar face of Rainbow Dash, Gilda, and to his surprise Spitfire. Looking at the shocked expression that was on each of their faces, his curiosity getting the better of him.

*Present*

"Okay what is with the looks you three are giving me" Silver asked as he was looking at the two mares and the griffon.

"Your eyes.. They are…. Different" Rainbow Dash being the first to find her voice said as she saw him gain a confused look on his face.

Looking at the other two seeing them nod as they agreed with what their friend said Silver quickly gathered magic in his horn before he casted "mirror" spell in order to see what they were referring to and when he looked into the mirror he immediately noticed they were right. Instead of his usual pupil he saw that while his eyes were still the same Crimson color he noticed it was his pupil that had changed from the circular shape it had been to now resembling that of a dragon's eye as his pupils were now in a curved black slit surrounded by an ocean of crimson.

Upon seeing what they were meaning he soon mirrored their reaction as it now made sense why his vision changed, dismissing the spell he started to sort through the information that he had learned from the elder dragon. Finding what he was looking for he sighed quietly as he returned his gaze to the three who were slightly shocked.

"What happened to you?" Gilda asked in a louder voice then she intended which caused Silver to wince as his renewed hearing caused it to seem louder then it actually was.

Bringing a hoof up and then lowering it in a way that indicated to be a little quieter as he looked towards his back which gained the attention of the three. When he turned back to the three and noticed they were trying to see what he was looking at, turning so his side was towards them as he lowered a wing to show the form of a sleeping baby dragon which caused the three to become more surprised.

Seeing they were going to ask sooner or later Silver began to tell them of what happened after they split ways and how when he was about to enter his house he started to hear a voice, which caused him to leave the note and find the source. As he told them they gasped lightly at the fact of where he went and who the owner of the voice was, feeling they were going to ask if he was okay and see if the dragon hurt him again by the worried look on their faces he eased them by simply continuing to tell them of what occurred.

It was a good hour later that Silver's explanation came to an end with the three glad that he wasn't hurt and that nothing bad had happened, while being sad as Kokuen seemed like she was a nicer dragon then most. They began to ask some questions about if he knew what happened to him since it wasn't common for changes like this to happen.

"From what i can tell about my changes, the reason i changed was because Kokuen was an elder dragon she had the ability to transfer a gift to those she deemed worthy her gift to me was to enhance my eyesight, hearing and smell to the point of a dragon's as well as the knowledge of the dragon race and my wings" Silver said which caused the three to look at his wings at first they didn't see anything until he moved his wing more in the light as they saw the light was slightly reflecting off what they assumed were scale covered feathers.

"From the knowledge on dragons that you gained, can you tell what gender the baby on your back is?" Spitfire asked as she was keenly looking at the sleeping form of said dragon.

"Yea the baby is a female" Silver said as the three began to look at the baby on his back, but before anything else could be asked the group of 4 had started to yawn which resulted in Gilda leaving after saying good night as she headed to her house, while Silver offered Spitfire the guest room which she gratefully headed to after giving him a kiss on the cheek leaving Silver the baby Dragon and Rainbow Dash in the living room.

"Are you staying the night or do you plan on heading back to your house?" Silver asked as he looked at the mare he was next to.

"I was planning to head home but if you want me to stay I will, but what are we going to do about the baby dragon?" Rainbow Dash asked as she looked from the baby to her stallion.

"That shouldn't be an issue since you normally sleep on me, plus my bed is big enough to where even if you rolled off me it wouldn't disturb her. I will look into getting a smaller bed for her tomorrow" Silver said as the mare nodded seeing as that was a solid idea while they made their way to his bedroom.

Carefully levitating the baby Dragon on to the pillow to one side of the bed, Silver got into bed with Dash following not long after as she took her new favorite sleeping position which was located on the stallion's chest. It didn't take very long till the two were peacefully asleep as they enjoyed the feeling of having each other close by.

Time Skip: 7 am

As the sun started to peer through the window somehow, always finding its way to the stallion's face, letting out a small sigh as he began to think about investing in new curtains that actually did what they were supposed to do. Ever so slowly Silver began to open his newly enhanced eyes as he didn't want to know what it felt like when a dragon looked at the sun this early but then remembered they lived in caves, as his vision was starting to unblur he could see the various colors that came from Rain's mane and was thankful as it was blocking the sun from his eyes. As he was starting to fully wake up he realized that there was a smaller body that was latched onto his arm.

Looking at his side he softly smiled as he saw the small form of the baby dragon clinging to his hoof as if she needed it in order to sleep. Mentally sighing as he realized that he was in lack of better words utterly stuck seeing as he had a mare that was on his chest and the baby dragon was hugging his arm as if it were a teddy bear. Accepting the current predicament that he was in Silver simply began to stare at the ceiling as he went through the knowledge of the previous day, he was soon brought out of his thoughts as Rain started to stir which caused a portion of her mane to fall near the baby dragon's nose which inevitably went closer to the dragon snout with its breathing. Once her mane was close to the dragon's nose it eventually started tickling it which made the baby dragon sneeze, at the small noise the mare on his chest was starting to wake up as well as the dragon as she was softly rubbing her nose with one of her clawed hands.

After the sneeze occurred Silver was happy to see that no fire came out as it was only a small puff of white smoke that came from the sneeze. While she was still half asleep Rainbow Dash turned her head to the side that was away from the sun, seeing the opportunity Silver gave her a small kiss at first and when their lips separated her head slowly lifted and captured his lips as she wasn't ready for the kiss to end so quickly. While the two were kissing Rainbow Dash's mane was still tickling the nose of the baby dragon which resulted in another sneeze followed by a small puff of white smoke that startled the two ponies causing them to break the kiss as they looked at the baby dragon once again rubbing her nose before she started to rub the sleep from her eyes as they slowly began to open.

Upon seeing the stallion the dragon gave a happy toothy smile, then her bright sapphire blue eyes trailed over to look at the cyan Pegasus with in curiosity as she tilted her head slightly to the side, at seeing this Rainbow Dash was currently holding in a very girly squeal as she found the action the baby dragon took to be extremely adorable. Once Rain had gotten up and stretched for a minute purposely giving Silver a great view of her flank she made her way over to the bathroom, getting up as he grumbled about "teasing mare's" he soon found that he had a small weight on his back once again.

Looking over his shoulder as he saw the baby dragon sitting in between his wings that allowed her to stay on. Giving her a small smile he made his way out into the living room where he saw Spitfire reading a book as she sat on the couch, giving her a good morning as he walked into the kitchen he was debating if he should put the baby on the couch with the mare that way he could make breakfast for them, but figured the dragon might not like that seeing as he knew they were quite keen on staying near the first they saw after they hatch.

As he was preparing breakfast he heard Rain enter the living room as they began talking about how the new Captain's training was coming along. After a couple minutes Silver interrupted their topic as he called Dash into the kitchen.

"Hey Dash can you come here for a minute" Silver asked as he poked his head out of the doorway to look at the mare as he saw her nod and began to make her way to the kitchen.

"What do you need stud" Rainbow Dash asked as she entered the kitchen and looked at the stallion.

"Do you mind watching her while I make breakfast?" Silver said as he motioned to the dragon that was on his back.

"Yea I'd be happy to, if she will be comfortable" Rainbow Dash said as she walked over to the stallion.

"Will you go with Rain here so I can make breakfast for us?" Silver asked gently as he looked at the baby dragon who looked in between the two ponies as if in thought before slowly nodding her head as she made her way onto the mare's back.

"There's the sweetness that I knew you had. I'll make sure to add something special I know you will enjoy to your breakfast" Silver said as he nuzzled her cheek against his, which seemed to make the baby happy.

Giving Rain a kiss that left her wanting more but was denied as Silver moved his head to her ear "don't think I forgot about that tease you did earlier" Silver said as he placed a hoof in between her flanks causing her to let out a small squeak and blush deeply at being caught this morning, still blushing she made her way to the living room hoping the other mare didn't notice her blush which to her dismay she did notice.

In the Kitchen

Silver began to mix the ingredients in order to make the batter for the blueberry waffles, when the two batter mixes were finished Silver walked over to the door that located in the middle of the kitchen on the same wall that was shared with the living room, opening the door and locating various small gems ranging from emeralds, rubies, sapphires, opals, and even grabbed a couple of the smaller pink diamonds he had. With the various gems levitating in front of him he went back to the kitchen in order to finish the meal.

After mixing in the gems into one of the batter mix's Silver was glad to have bought a waffle iron that was capable of making 2 waffles at once, pouring in the ponies mix into one side while pouring the mix that had the gems in it on the other side before he closed it to let them cook. As he was waiting Silver began to think about a name for the little dragon, he was able to come up with 2 names before the waffle iron beeped which alerted him they were done. Levitating the waffles out and placing them on a place that had tableware near them, with that done he poured the rest of the pony mix into the iron after he closed it he went about adding the finishing touch to the waffles that were done.

For the ponies they had fresh cut strawberries placed on top of a pile of whipped cream, while the waffle for the little Dragon had a slightly smaller pile of whipped cream that was decorated with smaller pieces of gems with the few pink diamonds he grabbed placed at the top. Seeing as they were all ready Silver levitated the places as he made his way to the dining room which was in the living room against the wall that shared the wall to the kitchen.

In the living room

With the blush still present on her face as she walked into the living room to see that her hopes were wrong as Spitfire had noticed the blush, seeing as there was no escape from the incoming questions Rain kindly asked the little dragon if she could go on the couch that way she was able to sit down, without responding she made her way onto the couch as Rainbow Dash sat next to her which caused the little dragon to latch onto the mare's arm. Once again holding back a squeal as it was adorable, Rain looked towards her friend before giving her a nod letting her ask her questions.

"So what's with the blush?" Spitfire asked simply seeing as that was what she was more curious about.

"I teased Silver earlier when we woke up by stretching in front of him, letting him get a great view of my flank" Rain said to her friend while she attempted to cover the little ones ears but gave up seeing as she only would be able to cover one.

"Oh revealing yourself to him now are ya, what else have I missed?" Spitfire asked as she looked at her fellow Pegasi with her curiosity growing more so.

Leaning in to whisper the next part into her ear as she didn't want to say something like that out loud in front of a baby, no matter the age. After she was done with informing her of what happened Spitfire's blush matched the one that Rain currently had as things started to click.

"So that is why you were limping yesterday I thought you injured your leg performing a stunt" Spitfire said as she saw her friend nod at the first part while shaking her head at the next.

Silver chose this time to bring the breakfast in and set it on the table as he heard Spitfire say that which let him know the topic they had as said mare was staring at him with her blush deepening as her imagination took over. Before it could run to wild she was brought from her thoughts by the deep vice of Silver telling them that breakfast was done. As they made their way to sit at the table Rain suddenly feeling the weight on her back vanish as she seemingly teleported on Silver's lap, with the group trying to figure out how the dragon moved so fast the rest sat down while Silver levitated the plate for her over to him as she began to sniff what was in front of them before looking up to him.

Seeing the look he cut a piece of his waffle before eating it showing her it was food, and followed the action by cutting a small piece from her waffle and brought it near the dragon's mouth as she repeated his action with the mares looking at the scene with a small awe escaping their lips. When she took her first bite the flavors of the gems mixed with the blueberries made her make a sound of what they assume was glee because after she finished the piece her mouth was opened revealing her fangs to the mare's. This continued on until they were all finished with their breakfast as they went into the living room while Silver took the dish's into the kitchen before sitting on the armchair which made the little dragon give him a small pout which resulted in him levitating her over to him and placing her on his lap.

"So have you decided on a name for her yet?" Rain asked as she looked from the stallion to the baby dragon who was setting happily on his lap.

"I thought of some as I was making breakfast but it will only be decided if she likes the name" Silver said as he looked from the mare's to the hatchling on his lap.

"What names did you have in mind?" Spitfire asked as she felt he was doing a good thing by only deciding on the name the dragon liked.

"Well first I thought about Garnet" Silver paused as he looked to the dragon in his lap who shook her head no before he continued "the next i thought about was Ruby" Silver said as he again looked at the small dragon who was happily nodding her head at the name causing the group to smile.

"Well it seems that she likes Ruby" Spitfire said as she looked at the happy dragon.

"Hm I have to ask, but if she just hatched then how come she is spike's size?" Rainbow Dash asked as that had been bugging her now that she thought more into it.

"From what I learned while she was waiting for the one that would make her hatch, her body continued to grow which made the egg shell grow with her to help accommodate her growing form, mentally though she is still closer to that of a hatchling which won't be a problem as all we need to do is to see if Twilight could lend a hoof" Silver said as he thought of the question with the others nodding at what they learned. They wanted to ask about how a dragon egg could increase in size if it wasn't ready to hatch but chalked it up to being a dragon thing.

As the group were talking and interacting with Ruby so she could get used to them, they decided that she should head over to see if Gilda was doing anything. After they made sure that they were all set Silver with little Ruby on his back they all walked out of the house with his thoughts occupied with what he needed to get for Ruby, coming up with the basics he would have to ask Twilight to see what she had done when Spike just hatched.

Making their way to the Griffon's house they gave the door a couple of knocks as they waited for the resident to open the door, which didn't take long as they were able to hear the sounds of talons hitting against the hardwood flooring. Soon enough the door opened to reveal Gilda except she had different parts of her feathers sticking in various places, as the group took in the appearance of their friend they couldn't help but snicker at her current appearance.

"Morning" Gilda said as she looked at the ponies that were at her door, moving aside as she motioned them inside which they gladly accepted since they knew the Griffon had yet had her morning coffee.

Once the group were situated as with Gilda moving towards the kitchen as she asked if any pony wanted a drink, Rain and Fire said that water would be fine while Silver said he enjoyed the last cup of coffee she made, and asked for a cup of juice for Ruby. Getting the drinks all in a cup Gilda seeing as to either make multiple trips or if they wanted to get the drink, but was brought from her train of thought as the glasses in front of her were starting to hover. Looking behind her to see the cause of the floating cups.

Giving him a thank you they head back into the living room as Silver hoofed out the cups to the ones who asked for what. After the drinks were all placed on the table near the pony they began to talk about the things that they were looking forward to. Spitfire was looking forward to when she could hand the title of Captain to Angel Wings, Gilda was thinking about making a few changes to the windmill portion of her house. Rain was undecided seeing as while yes she still liked the WonderBolts her being with Silver made her think against joining since then she wouldn't be able to see her special stallion that much and would separate her from her friends for longer periods of time. Silver simply said he was just letting things happen as they came but he was looking forward to what the future held for them.

"Oh Gilda, remember when we first met?" Silver asked as he looked at her as she took a sip of her coffee.

"Yea I called you the pony reaper and hid behind Dashie's couch, what about it?" Gilda asked as she looked at the stallion.

"Do you all remember what I said was my specialty while I was still an assassin?" Silver asked as he watched the others gain a thinking look on their faces, aside from Ruby who was happily playing with the stallion's mane.

"You were a prodigy at aerial combat" Rain said as she was the first to speak as the others looked at him curious as to where this was going.

"Do you want to know what my title was from the public?" Silver said after nodding at Rain seeing as she was correct. Not getting any vocal response he looked around the group to see them all staring at him while they nodded their head as they were curious if they had ever heard of him before.

"I was referred to as the Reaper Of The Sky, or simply known as the Sky Reaper" Silver said as they looked at him realizing that they all had heard of the one pony the authorities didn't dare attempt to try and face seeing as the reputation he had was brutal, swift, and clean never leaving any trace aside from how the target was taken out, while they never tracked him down they did however place posters around Equestria to warn the citizens.

*multiple flashbacks*

Rainbow Dash

It was after the Elements of Harmony had defeated and resealed away Discord, they were being awarded at the Canterlot Castle being given medals by the Princesses. As they were walking through the town they happened upon a wanted board that caught their attention, there was a page that stood out to the rest as odd. The group staring at the poster that only had a dark silhouette of an alicorn stallion, what caused the group to notice it was the fact that the only color on the poster were from the ponies eyes that seemed to glow an eerily red color. Twilight began to read what the poster said "Wanted: Sky Reaper, Crime: assassination of 50 official ponies of various race, fleeing from guards. Appearance: the only known thing about Sky Reaper is that his eyes are a piercing red. Options on encounter: there is no chance at running away or even flying, your best chance is to wait until he is done with his reason for being there, and hope you aren't his target" as the group listened they all had various reactions most of them shared one however at the fact that some pony could do such things but Rainbow Dash was simply staring at the eyes of the stallion that seemed to glow. After the group took note on to be on the lookout for any pony who bore a similar resemblance as they headed to the Castle, as the group passed a dark alley way they failed to notice the pair of red eyes that slowly started to open. All except Dash as she caught sight of the red eyes as they glanced at her before they seemingly vanished.

Spitfire

She was in Clouds-Dale running some training drills for an event that was coming up which they were asked to perform at, hearing a slight pounding from outside the field Spitfire told her group to continue what they were doing as she started to make her way to the gate. As she left the gate and looked down the road she noticed two Pegasi guards walk away from a notice board, walking over to the board as to find out what they posted her eyes grew wide as her eyes landed on the most recent poster after looking over the image with her eyes staying stuck on the stallion's eyes, she began to read to herself what the poster said "Wanted: Sky Reaper, Crime: assassination of 50 official ponies of various race, fleeing from guards. Appearance: the only known thing about Sky Reaper is that his eyes are a piercing red. Options on encounter: there is no chance at running away or even flying, your best chance is to wait until he is done with his reason for being there, and hope you aren't his target". When she finished reading her eyes were wide at the information that she read and was surprised by the lack of information that was on the paper.

Gilda

Walking around the town of Griffonstone, she was about to pass by a board that never had anything on it to meet her friends but stopped as there was actually something pinned on the board. Lightly scoffing as she thought some pony needed help planting Daisies or something like that, she looked towards the only poster on the board as her eyes widened seeing as it was a wanted poster, as she looked at the picture that was shown not seeing much but her eyes locked on the seemingly glowing eyes of the wanted pony as she started reading "Wanted: Sky Reaper, Crime: assassination of 50 official ponies of various race, fleeing from guards. Appearance: the only known thing about Sky Reaper is that his eyes are a piercing red. Options on encounter: there is no chance at running away or even flying, your best chance is to wait until he is done with his reason for being there, and hope you aren't his target". Scoffing lightly but still keeping the knowledge in the back of her mind she continued on her intended route.

*flashback end*

As the group had the memory of when they heard of the name they began to tell him what they remembered and what they were doing at the time. The group all being glad that during the time the stallion that shared their feelings had changed and stayed the way he had recently become instead of returning back to the way he was before he lost his memories and unknown to them Silver was having the same thought because before he was tired of all the bloodshed, and the needless killing in his eyes got rather boring hence why he headed out to challenge himself as he searched for a strong opponent instead of always facing the weak ponies that he had been sent to assassinate. Silver was glad of the events that brought him here seeing as he was happy, he found some ponies and a griffon to love that returned his feelings.

Any other member of the Shade family would have headed back to the base, but as he was looking for strong opponents he was thinking of a way out of the grim business. He could only hope that while he has been gone with no word nor sight that they assumed he was dead which isn't something that couldn't happen seeing as there have been many members that did what he did and never returned that were assumed K.I.A.

After the group came from their thoughts they continued to talk about different things while nothing in specific. As time seemed to pass rather quickly it was a bit before noon that the group headed separate ways with Rain and Gilda going to deal with their duties as weather pony and Griffon, Spitfire went back to Silver's house to continue reading or to set up a schedule for what her replacement would need to know. Silver with Ruby on his back headed towards the town with a specific location in mind, the location being the Library that the only pony he knew that had any knowledge aside from him on dragon's.

Walking through town while nodding to the various ponies that greeted him as he made his way to his destination. As he made it to the door he gave it a few knocks as the alert the occupants they had a guest, it wasn't long until the door started to open not seeing a pony standing there Siler simply looked down to see the small purple and green dragon. After they greeted each other he was soon let inside and was led to where the mare in question was located to which no surprise was at a table with her head buried in a book.

"Twilight I have a need for some assistance that you may enjoy" Silver said as he saw the mare lower her book as she looked at the stallion with a curious gaze.

"Oh and do tell what that may be" Twilight said as she gave the stallion a look of indifference.

Not answering her vocally Silver levitated Spike to where he was in the seat next to the mare, giving him a curious look they noticed the stallion turn to the side as he lowered his wing and revealed what caused both Twilight and Spike to gasp in surprise as they saw another dragon, as they were looking at the dark red baby dragon Silver decided to speak.

"Twilight, Spike meet Ruby. Ruby meet Twilight and Spike" Silver said as he pointed a hoof to the owner of the names respectively.

"Where did you get him?" Twilight asked as she looked at the stallion but lightly flinched at the look she received.

"Her name is Ruby, and I heard a voice and found a cave that had an elder dragon who when took over the cave found the egg and said that it was waiting for a certain being which was me as we later found out" Silver said as he corrected the mare of Rubies name and gender.
