Morgan spent most of the remainder of the voyage training either her combat abilities or her mind. She was determined to get stronger. She had even convinced Sumia to let her fly, and she had proven apt at it even if her lancework was less than stellar. She could always use magic if she had to, but she was also working on her lance skills.

She had become much like her mother. Driven to the point of ignoring her own well-being at times, but she did not care. She was a child desperately trying to earn her mother's approval.

However, her change in attitude did not go unnoticed. Robin was particularly concerned, but any attempt he made to talk to her was met with little success. She would at least talk to him which was something, but she refused to cut back on her training.

Robin was not the only one who noticed though.

"Sumia," Cordelia finally spoke up as they were grooming their pegasi, "I think I need to tell you something."

"What is it?" Sumia looked to her friend.

"You've noticed Morgan's unusual behavior, right?"

"Yes, I'm a little concerned. She was such a sweet girl. I hate seeing her like this."

"I think I may know why she started acting that way. Or part of it at least." Sumia looked at her waiting for her to continue and Cordelia recounted how she came to know about some of Morgan's returned memory, "She asked me not to tell Robin, and I didn't ask who her mother was, but given recent events, I think I can guess who she is." Cordelia looked her friend in the eyes, "I think she is Lucina's daughter."

"Lucina's…daughter? I thought they were just childhood friends in Morgan's future."

"I'm not sure how it works, but it makes sense. She kept trying to get her and Robin to spend time together, and after Lucina got hurt, she started obsessing over her training."

"It would explain her behavior," Sumia thought it over, "Do you think Lucina knows?"

"I don't even know for sure if it is true, but Lucina hasn't been spending as much time with Robin recently either."

"Hmm," Sumia mulled it over. What should she do?

Before Sumia came to a course of action, they arrived at Valm Harbor. Morgan was kept back against her wishes, but they prevailed regardless. After the port was secured, the Shepherds were given a day off while the other ships unloaded. It was then that Sumia decided she should do something.

"Lucina, might I have a moment?"

"Mother," Lucina halted her practice, "Of course. What may I do for you?"

"I was hoping to speak with you about Morgan."

"…I see. What do you wish to discuss?"

"Do you know why she has been acting so strangely lately?" Lucina remained silent under her mother's scrutinizing gaze. "Lucina, is there something you're not telling me? Something about Morgan's parentage perhaps?"

Lucina's eyes widened and her mouth fell slightly ajar, "I-I," she swallowed, "Promise you will not tell anyone. Especially Robin or father."

"I promise."

Lucina breathed deep, "She claims that-that I am her mother."

"And…how did you respond to this revelation?"

"I-I left. I did not know what to think. I am not even supposed to be here! Y-yet according to her, I had a child with," Her face went pink and her voice lowered in intensity, "With Robin. How am I supposed to react to that? That I apparently started a life with one of my father's best friends and closest advisors? I set out not to change more than necessary, but that is certainly changing more than I intended!"

"Do you like Robin?"

"W-what? I-I like him well enough, but it is grossly inappropriate. Not to mention I do not know him that well."

"I wouldn't want you to rush into something like this, but, really, you could do worse than him. Though, right now, I think Morgan should be your concern. Think of it this way, Lucina: how would you have felt if your father or I had turned our backs on you when you first revealed who you were?"

"I-I would have been devastated," Lucina looked down in shame, "But…you and father were already married. Robin and I-I cannot even say that I love him."

"Maybe, but that girl is working herself to death for you."

"For me?"

"You got hurt on her watch. She's probably trying to make sure that she doesn't fail you again. Maybe she's trying to earn your approval."

"I-I don't even know where to begin."

"Begin by being there; accepting her. Work the rest out as you go."

"I will…consider your words. I'm just not sure."

Sumia wrapped her daughter in a hug, "I know this must be hard for you to adjust to. Just know that I'm here if you want to talk."

"I know," Lucina returned the gesture but kept her eyes distant.
