Dark Desires

-Selfish-

His Mom was acting weird, like really weird. No yelling, no swearing, not anything. She sat across from him in their living room and boy was he feeling on edge. Everything about her posture felt cold, it may have looked relaxed with her elbows against her knees propping her torso up. Those eyes that seemed to carry so much heat like his own, were locked onto his in an icy, calculating glare. The last time they sat down like this was when she asked if he was being more cruel to De-Izuku. It was still annoying that he knew the topic was on him again.

Dad was out at work right now leaving the two of them alone, with a folder on the living room table labeled 'classified'. She was staring him down hard and it was hard not to crack. Instead of trying to stare down his own mother (which never worked) he made an attempt to break the ice.

"...so-"

"The day you were attacked by a villain, Izuku was there wasn't he?"

What a loaded question. He was about to answer but interrupted again.

"You pushed him too far Katsuki. You saw what he can do, he had the chance to kill you but you got really lucky. You got mercy. But when he decides to go down his shit list I guarantee you'll be high up there and you better pray he can't find you."

Some of it was true, he figured if for some reason Izuku got some form of influence or power he would try to get back at Katsuki. That's part of the reason why he beat him down, to keep him down there under his foot. This was a little much though? Izuku showing mercy? He was too much of a coward to even punch back.

"If Izuku thinks he can-"

"I wasn't talking about Izuku." Mitsuki cut him off again. It was getting on his nerves but he started to think about that day. When he started getting nightmares.

That whole fight Izuku was avoiding him, trying to keep away. Katsuki thought he was being a coward, but Izuku was saving him from something worse.

"You said it wasn't a villain. What is it and why the hell is it with Izuku?" Katsuki asked, unsure of how he would feel about the answer.

Mitsuki, without breaking eye contact, flipped open the folder and slid it to her son. Katsuki looked at the first page and it was pictures side of a satellite with a familiar black slime covering the side of it.

"Is this a joke?"

Her lack of response was his only answer. More curious than furious he turned the page, showing vials of slightly different colored slime being securely transported. He started skimming the words listed.

Organic life

Unknown origins

Five test subjects

Symbiotic relationship to compatible host

Violent nature

Human trials

He wanted to say it was a joke. He wanted to call her mom on some conspiracy junk. He wished he could, but these images were graphic at times, and there was so much detail with the research. If it was made up wouldn't the person want to make it public making it look like a leak? Some nut job wanting to scare the people even more about the newest villain?

Then he saw a picture of one of the human test subjects.

Swirling black eyes, jaw filled with fangs, elongated snake like tongue, and that predatory grin it had. That was something no one else but him saw when he fought Izuku. No one could have made that up from what was shown on the news.

Subject Name: Venom

"Somehow Venom got out. Broke his human host in the process but he started body hopping. We speculated he was looking for a compatible host and from what it looks like he did. My job was to either capture or kill the host and retrieve the symbiote."

Wasn't his Mom some model? Even though he never asked to see any of her pictures he felt there was a lack of them. Especially since she went to America a lot. Is this what she has really been doing? Wait, why was she talking to him now about this if this was HER job?! He shouldn't have to do anything unless she-

Freezing in place, he remembered a crucial detail. His mother was missing during the stadium massacre, right before the guys with guns showed up.

"You were working with those guys?" Katsuki asked. "They're hardly better than whatever the hell is in Izuku! They shot people without hesitation!"

Mitsuki slightly raised her voice, trying to get her son to listen again.

"If you knew there was a chance for that thing to be in anyone in the building would you risk hesitating if someone was acting up?!"

"Hell no! But I wouldn't kil-"

She shot up with absolute fury in her eyes.

"YOU WOULDN'T WHAT KATSUK? KILL? YOU BOASTED ABOUT KILLING EXTRAS FOR ALL YOUR LIFE AND IZUKU THE MOST. NOW WHEN I'M SHOWING YOU A GLIMPSE AT WHAT NEEDS TO BE DONE ARE YOU GONNA PISS YOURSELF?"

"We don't need to kill Izuku!"

"I tried capturing him, but as you saw that symbiote in him used Izuku and SLAUGHTERED us. It eats people alive to live! Now we have almost nothing left, barely able to keep hold of the other symbiotes, and we still have to stop the most powerful creature on earth before it reproduces!"

More

It could make MORE of itself.

He hated to lose an argument, but that is damn near convincing. Izuku from what he saw worked his hardest to keep it under control and it still ate a hero.

How many people would jump at the chance to be as powerful as him?

Shit he hated agreeing with his Mom.

"Katsuki, I'm giving you a choice. If you wanna be a hero still you have got to start working your ass off. No more being overconfident in your abilities because you were born a little stronger than the rest. Cause if you stay here, and go to UA. Venom could come for you at any moment when he decides that you lived long enough. And you better not hesitate or waste a chance to finish the fight because he will destroy you otherwise."

"...And my other choice?"

"You work at a hotel serving hot chocolate in Greenland for the rest of your life."

That wasn't really an option.

'We're tired of eating trash food between meals.'

"You made it so everyone in Japan knows my face. I can't even go into a shady convenience store that often now." Izuku complained as he dug further into a dumpster. Even if he can get money from eating criminals, there's no point if he can't spend it. His fingers were numb from the frosty late fall air. All the trees had lost their leaves, only for the wind to be the only force of nature awake to accompany the sun. The rays from which did little to actually help keep Izuku warm. Oh hey, a half used hand warmer packet.

Score.

'We'll just eat the eyes of the gas station employee. He won't be able to see your face then.'

"No."

Let's see..Donut box is empty, greesy microwave pizza wrapper, a pair of brown pants that smelled horrible. Wait, jeans aren't normally brown. Gross.

'We know you like the texture of eyeballs. Like gushers.'

"I don't like it."

An older cracked phone. Maybe I could do something with it? A burner phone might be nice to use to try to check on Kacchan. He's bound to have thousands of questions...or insults...or more explosions.

'That's a lie.'

"...I don't like the idea of liking them."

Ok, calling Kachan with the potential burner phone is a bad idea. Who else? There was that one girl a few months back. I didn't even get her name. Maybe Jiro? It would be safer instead of using chats linked to his emails. He should really make sure the police don't figure out his emails.

'Come on, we could try roasting them like marshmallows.'

"That's gross."

They probably already checked my house. Hopefully they didn't make a mess or Mom would-

Mom

'Broccoli is gross.'

"Cannibalism is gross."

'It's euphoric'

"I hate you."

'Look alive.'

His head snapped to attention to check his surroundings, right hand sliding the old phone into his pocket. Venom sounded more serious than normal. He only got semi serious when there was a decently strong pro. Depending on Venom's follow up lines of him describing potential tastes he could make a plan.

"..."

Oh shit he's not even saying anything! Stay calm, get your heart beat under control, listen through the blood rushing in your own veins. Who would get Venom this spooked? Someone who could take him down. What are the number one threats to Venom? Fire or sound attacks, and whoever had quirks like that had to be incredibly strong or skilled to fully combat Venom. That leaves three potential threats.

Gang Orca, one of the top ten heroes who paralyzes waves of villains with his sonar attack.

Endeavor, the number two hero who can burn buildings near instantly if he chose.

Finally, All Might. His speed and strength would pummel Venom and potentially rip Izuku away. Wouldn't take him long, and if he knew about other weaknesses he could easily get them in seconds with pure speed.

Yeah, whoever it is he's gonna either die or wish he was dead.

*achoo*

"..."

That was a very femenine sneeze.

Double checking his surroundings for anybody Izuku saw that no one was around. He leapt from the ground and spun in the air as he clung to the wall. From this vantage point he could see around the corner to another pathway of dumpsters. Walking next to them was Himiko, who was peering into one deciding if she could find anything warmer to wear than a cardigan and a skirt. Her body was practically vibrating as she shook, trying to retain as much body heat as possible.

"T-toga?!"

A little surprised, she looked up to the voice and saw-"I told you before! It's Hi-mi-ko!"

Izuku let his grip relax and slowly slid down the wall. When his feet touched down he walked over to her, more curious as to why she was here than worried. After all, he could eat her if she caused any more problems. Venom! Venom would eat her if she caused problems. Yeah. He had no desire to eat people.

"What are you doing here? Aren't you, ya know, not suspected of murder? Can't you go home?" Izuku asked innocently, only to get a very weird emotion from Toga. She looked away, avoiding eye contact but smiled sweetly.

"Your Mom was always so nice to you ya know? I bet she would still take care of you even if you have Venom."

Why was she bringing up his mother. Why the hell was she bringing up his mother. Izuku was patient for most anything, except what would dare bring harm to her. Himiko didn't do anything last time and he left so nothing would happen to her. If someone tried something while he was gone...They would do something about it.

"Toga-"

"It's Himiko" She tried to tease back, only to get slightly scared by the killing intent starting to radiate off of Izuku.

"Toga. Is my mother alright?"

She lowered her head, absolutely terrified of the answer she could potentially give him. On one hand, she could report completely honest and say she didn't do anything to hurt her and only checked up on her. On the other hand, if he thinks she did something to make his mother act the way she saw her act. Himiko would be that was the case.

Time to do what she did best. Fib the truth.

"I checked on her and she's been working on her figure lately. Going on a diet, losing a few pounds, and she has visitors so she's almost never lonely."

Even if she doesn't fully believe her she just had to sway this conversation a different way.

"I don't think I've ever heard of my Mom planning on going on a diet." Izuku mused, still skeptical but more open. Time to go in for the kill shot.

"Well what else did you expect her to focus on when you ran away."

Izuku flinched.

Gotcha.

Izuku trying to escape from his awkwardness tried to divert the questions back on her. "S-so, do your parents know about your choices?"

Oh boy he's going straight for that one isn't he. "Izuku, the reason I brought up your Mom is because I wish she was mine. My parents didn't exactly trust me to even be around them. They tried to get my quirk under control by caging me, starving me, giving me copious amounts of red Kool Aid as a substitute for blood-"

'We like Kool Aid, but we understand.'

"-And I had to get away from that..Just to live. You eat people to survive, I drink blood to survive."

That made Izuku conflicted. His natural desires to help people but he couldn't justify any murdering himself. But then again, he just had problems forgiving himself. He knew if someone else got Venom he would do everything he could do to help them and maybe track down potential targets. Or even try to get them access to death row inmates. How could he help Himiko now?

"This may be a stupid question, but have you tried blood banks? I'm sure if you proved you needed blood they could give you some." He shyly offered, but already guessed the answer.

"Yeah, but they are really restrictive. Worried about illegal quirk experimentation and stuff like that. There simply aren't enough people like us for the law to step in to help us."

That sounded familiar. Izuku recalled being on the bottom of priorities for local cops just because he was quirkless. People with quirks that need blood from others were probably more rare than having no quirk.

'What do you want to do?'

Izuku reexamined Himiko's state. She was wearing even less than he was, and Venom practically gave Izuku the ability to walk around Antarctica naked. It would be uncomfortable but he would live. His stomach growled incredibly loud interrupting his thoughts.

Himiko snickered at his expense, only for her stomach to give a small growl as well making her blush in embarrassment.

This might be a mistake, but he felt he had to do something.

"Himiko-

"You said my name!"

"I can help get you food. But you can't kill anyone that is innocent, we only target the worst of the worst. Understand?"

'YES! We bite their heads off, then she can drink from their jugular like a straw. Finally we can chew away at the corpse like a fresh raisin.'

She nodded very eagerly, already bouncing with excitement. Before she could start to talk Izuku took his overworn hoodie off and held it out. She stared at it for a second before her eyes widened in understanding. In an instant she swiped it and pulled it over herself before basking in the warmth.

"Thank you! You even warmed it up for me~" She hugged the boy, making him stutter from the close contact.

"N-no problem."

"Now let's go eat!" She pumped her fist in the air, followed by Izuku's against the boy's will as Venom moved it.

'Let's eat! Since we're feeding another mouth now we can eat five day!'

"We're not eating that many." Izuku shot the symbiote's idea down for the sake of his own sanity. Though, now that Toga was going to be sharing his food he needed to work even harder to find some normal food between criminals. As they began walking away his foot hit a stray can. It felt heavier than a normal one. Picking it up, it was an old can of tomato soup.

Jackpot.

'This is a disaster.' Death Arms thought, maps spread across the table in his office. Mt Lady was currently looking through missing persons reports and crossing names off with a red marker. They had been going at this ever since Kamui Woods was eate-killed. Digging up older reports proved almost useless, since almost no one could prove if someone ran off, went into hiding, was kidnapped etc.

Other cases were so much easier. But there was one thing that was different about tracking down this villain. Bodies. Hardly anyone could dispose of a body and not leave something behind or they just didn't go through the effort. Any missing person could have been one of his victims, but for some reason he left witnesses the one time.

When they found out Izuku Midoriya was the host of the villain, their investigations were put to a halt. Some other big shot hero already claimed the case and now they aren't able to use police resources.

Now, they had to go off public information or rumors that floated around.

Mt Lady shouted before slamming the papers on the ground. "This is stupid! We were with him when it happened! We should be working the case since we were there! What kind of selfish asshole just steals a case from someone?!"

"I don't know, but I'm not happy either." He sighed. Even if it was a horrible moment in their careers he hated to admit it but it was a wake up call. They had been on edge and working six times as hard to find anything on their personal case. Mt Lady had an entire shift in her 'persona' to the point where she dropped the act in front of the camera. She was much more focused and to the point, not even any hint of flirting in front of anybody.

*knock knock*

Death Arms looked up from the map to the door. Mt Lady didn't seem to care and just picked up her mess.

"Excuse me Death Arms, but we found a letter for you and Mt Lady. We forgot to put it with the other fan letters a while ago and just remembered." The muffled voice of one of his employees spoke.

Both of them? "Mt Lady, did you get a fan letter to the both of us at your agency?" Death Arms asked, slightly unnerved since the public shouldn't know she was here often.

"No, I stopped checking fan letters after the fiftieth guy asking for feet pics." She said dismissively.

He thought on it for a second before deciding to act on his curiosity. "Slide it under the door please."

"Sure, phone us if you need anything else boss."

*slide*

He walked over to the lone letter that sat on the floor. It was a folded piece of paper with no address, just "-Death Arms & Mt Lady." There was a bit of worn tape on it that held it together and another slip at the top. Someone must have taped it to the building. Weird, even if his agency location was public knowledge for someone to not bother going in and handing it to the front desk.

They either did it in the middle of the night, or didn't want to be seen. Opening the letter, he briefly read the words.

Sorry about Kamui Woods, he was a great hero

I promise I'll make sure Venom is fed so this never happens again

-Izuku

"They ask for pics of our feet or something?"Mt Lady asked, grabbing a bag of chips and opening them.

"It says it's from Izuku."

"What?!" She rushed over and almost ripped the paper when she grabbed it. Reading it only made her look enraged.

"He's...he's acting like his dog shit on our lawn!" She screamed, slamming it onto the table.

"We don't even know if it's from him." Death Arms reasoned. This could be some dark prank or someone trying to make Izuku look better. There had been some people who were trying to make the boy into a victim/hostage. He didn't know what to believe yet.

"Bullshit! Who else knows the name of the villain? I swear I don't care if he was being used. If he thinks he thinks this can make up for what we saw I'm gonna squish them together!"

"He's a kid. You really think you could live with that?"

She stopped, walked right up to him, and with complete seriousness she said "I already have to live with the fact I half assed being a hero and watched Kamui die. I can live with stomping out a monster."

He sighed, looking at the paper again. "We should try checking for anything that could identify that Izuku Midoriya did write this. Until then we can look into the name 'Venom' as a possible lead. Maybe identify in the quirk registry just what he can do."

"I'll start looking into the name. You check if it's legit." She said, already walking over to her laptop and typing away. He sighed, she was certainly intense. Before it was more bubbly or self centered energy that she used to make herself look better. Now it was laser focused on blaming herself and finding 'Venom'.

He sighed, he felt bad for her. Sure he never gave her an easy time before and probably would have rejoiced in her change in work ethic. But this hardly seemed to help her in learning how to balance what a hero is supposed to be about. Kamui had a way of simply inspiring others to be better.

He pulled out his phone to send an email to his contact for forensic work. Some of them had great quirks for the stuff. One guy he heard could look back into the last twenty four hours of an object. But, there was an email sent to him from someone he didn't expect.

It was the Principal of UA, and he sent it to both him and Mt Lady.

Hello,

As I understand it the two of you are personally interested in continuing to working on the ongoing case regarding Izuku Midoriya. If so, we have an opportunity for the both of you to have the chance in participating in the investigation. All we ask is a potential shift in your schedules.

Please be prepared with your resume, a list of experience working with children, and discussing your interactions with the villain that is associated with Izuku Midoriya.

We look forward to hearing from the both of you.

-Principal Nezu

"You read your emails yet?" Death Arms asked out loud.

"No, too busy."

"Well you might want to. Looks like we could be let in on the investigation."
