"Ha... this feels nice." Lilithmon sighed as she sank herself into the warm water of the spring, keeping her eyes closed and a child-like smile on her face as she relaxed, not noticing most of the girls and female Digimon just staring at her, with a few feeling slightly insecure as they compared her body to their own.
Meanwhile, Nene, Sparrowmon and Mervamon could only blink their eyes as they looked at this Digimon, seeing her completely different from the Lilithmon they remembered, seemingly more friendly, carefree and approachable, unlike her devious and manipulative counterpart they battled long ago.
"So, you have been watching us since we battled Belphemon?" Kari then asked, wanting to break the ice and help everyone get comfortable with their new ally, her question causing Lilithmon to open her eyes and look back at the girls.
"Yep. I was at first spying on Barbamon and his creeps. You should hear him complaining about you guys, but when I heard him going to wake up that oversized goat, I came to see if you guys would be alright. Seeing that hot blue knight was a surprise." Lilithmon replied with a smile, not noticing the tick marks on Kari and Gatomon's foreheads, while the other girls tried not to glare at Lilithmon for her comment.
"But after that, I went back to see what I could do to stop the digging. I don't know what they're after exactly, but they're working so many Digimon to the point a few have just fallen and been deleted from exhaustion." Lilithmon then informed as her tone turned somber, lessening everyone's anger as they felt sick hearing what Barbamon has been doing to all the Digimon his forces have captured.
"Something has been going on in his throne room, but I haven't been able to get inside to see." The Demon Lord Digimon then said with a sigh as she sank back into the water.
"Maybe we can help." Nene then offered, getting everyone to look at her as she added. "If we can see inside, we might get an idea of what Barbamon's after."
"Yeah, let's run that by the guys and see what we can come up with." Yoshi replied, her words getting nods from the others, before Kari seemed to freeze up, getting the others attention as Gatomon asked with worry. "Kari, what's wrong?"
"I... I don't know. I sense great darkness... but it's different, like it's more unnatural then normal." Kari replied as she tried to make sense of what she was feeling, before quickly getting out of the water, almost knocking Sparrowmon aside, as she rushed to get changed and warn Davis and the others.
"Let's go. We might have another fight on our hands." Rika then said as she watched Kari move, knowing well enough that with the way Kari was acting, something was seriously wrong.
-Meanwhile-
"So... we're ok with her being on our side?" JP asked with some concern, still not sure if having a Digimon like Lucemon so close to them was a good idea, before getting nods from most of the guys, Digimon and Gennai as Davis replied. "Yeah, she's a friend. She's a bit feisty, but she's still on our side."
"Yeah, it's like we said about our friend Impmon, and how his Mega form is Beelzemon. Sure, his attitude can be questionable at times, but he's proven time and again that he's our friend." Takato then said, his words agreed by Guilmon, who nodded and added. "Impmon used to be bad, but we're friends now. He no longer picks on us and wants to help us."
"Besides all of that, we can't just turn her away. We need all the help we can get right now, so having another Mega on our side is a good thing." Thomas then added, getting a nod from Gaomon in agreement.
"She still might have trouble controlling her abilities, due to her forced Digivolution, so I'll do what I can to help her." Gennai then offered, getting nods from the other guys, before the sound of hurried footsteps caused them all to turn their heads to see the girls running towards them, Kari in the lead and with a worried look on her face.
"Something's coming!" Kari warned as she approached the others, the concerned look on her face alone enough for Davis and Veemon to rush towards the entrance, the rest of the Digi-heroes behind him, while Agumon, his group and Gennai waited behind to see what was going on.
Arriving at the entrance, the heroes and their Digimon saw a group of Dark Digimon heading towards them, with most widening their eyes as they recognized some of them.
For Zoe and JP, one was a familiar Digimon, resembling a gargantuan bird, a dark feathered creature whose body was covered in black armour, resembling bone, which ran along its chest and spread to its wings, drawing attention to the skull-like shoulderplates allowing its wings to spread out.
Reminding the Warriors of Wind and Thunder, looking upon the Digimon's head, seeing the mass of dark blonde hair running down its back, alongside the third eye upon its forehead, both knew this foe would be one of absolute power and terror.
"V...Velgemon?! But how?! How is it here?!" Zoe asked with a clearly growing fear, her words catching the other heroes' attention, before they focused on the second largest Digimon of the group coming towards them.
Taking in its appearance, it was a Digimon none of them had faced before, being a more mechanical Digimon, closely resembling a dragon due to its body structure, though looking upon it and seeing the various stitches holding its wings and body together, the metallic plating covering its face, claws and legs, most guessed there was no reasoning with what seemed to be a Digimon that had been through countless battles, only to be brought back again and again.
"That is DexDorugoramon. He's a powerful foe and one of Barbamon's champions." Gennai informed the group as he walked up behind them with Lilithmon, before the group took in the appearance of the next Digimon, one whose facial features frightened Kari, Sora and most of the Chosen Digimon, along with Nene and Sparrowmon, while Davis and Veemon clenched their fists in anger.
Having a more human form than his allies, the next champion of Barbamon, though protected by dark purple armour, held a familiarity in its form, namely its pale skin and sinister expression, having a dark smile on his face that the Digidestined wished they could forget.
"Myotismon..." Gatomon growled, her eyes narrowing, before getting confused as Nene corrected her and said. "You're wrong. That's NeoMyotismon."
"We faced one that served as a Dark General to our AxeKnightmon. That mightn't be your Myotismon, but if he's anything like the NeoMyotismon we faced, he'll be just as troubling." Sparrowmon then commented, remembering the Dark Digimon that had caused them so much trouble, especially when he Force Digifused MetalGreymon and Shoutmon into his very being.
However, as the three dark Digimon parted, a figure floating between them caught the heroes' attention, shocking them to no end, even Gennai, as they all looked at the familiar Digimon.
"DarkVenusmon?! What... how?! Kari and Gatomon not only took her out, but purified her as well!" Tagiru yelled in surprise, his confusion mirrored by the others.
What confused them most of all, however, and gave them an odd, almost sickening feeling, was the dark aura that seemed to surrounded the corrupt Digimon, making a few of them feel nauseated for some reason, especially Kari and Gatomon, who not only sensed the darkness about their foe, but also something... unnatural, about her.
Putting a supportive hand on Kari's shoulder, an action Veemon mirrored with Gatomon, Davis looked at DarkVenusmon with narrowed eyes as he stated. "Something's different this time, but we'll stop her."
"But we also need to keep our guard up. My gut is telling me DarkVenusmon has more tricks for us in this fight." Veemon added, his tone matching the seriousness of Davis'.
"Lilithmon, please watch over Gennai and the others, we'll keep them back." Davis then asked Lilithmon, who blushed a little at the confidence Davis was radiating within her, before nodding her head in affirmation, where the Digi-heroes moved out to fight.
-Moments later-
Digivolving on the way, UlforceVeedramon landed first, with Ophanimon next to him, along with Gallantmon, Sakuyamon and HiAndromon, while MirageGaogamon stood behind them, having MetalKabuterimon rolling up next as to provide support.
Zephyrmon, Rosemon, Garudamon and JetMervamon meanwhile hovered above them, taking to the sky as air support, with Arresterdramon, now in his Superior Mode, and Cho Hakkimon landing in front of the group, ready to fight as the four Dark Digimon landed before them.
However, as soon as her feet touched the group, the heroes noticed the ground beneath DarkVenusmon seeming to wither, the grass dissolving and the ground almost glitching out, as though her presence was disrupting the fabric of the Digital World.
"Surprised to see me again, I see?" DarkVenusmon asked with a growing dark smirk, her voice seeming distorted as she spoke, confusing the Digi-heroes even more, though the sound of her tone seemed to hurt their ears slightly.
"How are you here? We defeated you, purified you!" Ophanimon asked in anger, to which DarkVenusmon just laughed as she replied.
"You can thank my Master for that. He decided I wasn't ready to leave, not when I could take a second chance at destroying you worms." DarkVenusmon said in reply, her words sending chills through those around her, sensing something different about the corrupt Olympian Digimon.
"We defeated you before, and we'll do it again!" Veemon yelled through UlforceVeedramon as the Digimon prepared to fight.
"Don't think you'll get lucky for a second time." DarkVenusmon said back, expressing a wicked smile on her face.
"Now that I've come back, and without that annoying light inside of me, you all will fall under me and my dark power!" She then proclaimed, bringing up her right hand as to show the radiating dark energies within, before clenching and crushing them.
'Without her light?' Some of the heroes thought in confusion, to which Ophanimon realized what she meant as she then said. "He removed her Digi-Core! She's not even a full Digimon anymore!"
Shocked at what they had heard, some of the Digi-heroes felt a sudden empathy for DarkVenusmon, only for her to laugh at Ophanimon and her concerning words.
"I am better without my Digi-Core. I am what my Master desired of me to begin with, and even more!" DarkVenusmon declared with a continued wickedness, before seeming to disappear from where she was standing, before Ophanimon was sent flying backwards, DarkVenusmon's hands around her neck as the pair broke through the trees as they flew back.
"This time, there will be no mercy, no mistakes! I will destroy you!" The corrupt Digimon declared, before throwing Ophanimon into the side of the mountain, causing the angelic Digimon to cry out not only at the sudden attack, but from the pain of the dark energy she felt when DarkVenusmon grabbed her.
Her senses then kicking in, Ophanimon quickly used her shield to block a powerful blast of dark energy, groaning as she felt the blast start to push her deeper into the rockface.
Feeling the energy die down and looking over, Ophanimon saw DarkVenusmon's hands glowing with the same energy.
"I have been Reborn! And this time, I'll send you to oblivion!" The corrupt Olympian yelled, only to move her arm and use her arm bracer to block a blow from UlforceVeedramon's saber, who then jumped back as Sakuyamon landed next to him to help fight off their foe.
"Don't think we're just going to sit back here, we still want payback for last time!" Sakuyamon yelled as she jumped into the air and called out. "Spirit Strike!"
Launching her fox spirits towards DarkVenusmon, Sakuyamon, along with UlforceVeedramon and Ophanimon, all looking in shock as, out of DarkVenusmon's back, four dark portal-like effects appeared, followed by several dark tendrils, looking almost spike-like, emerged and shot through the spirits, dissipating them before they could strike the corrupt Digimon.
"What the hell...?" UlforceVeedramon let out in confusion, unsure as to what this new ability DarkVenusmon was using was, while not far off, Gennai, watching alongside Lilithmon and the other Digimon, paled.
"No... it can't be..." The Digital being said to himself in shock and disbelief as he watched the battle unfold before them.
Unsure of the power DarkVenusmon had displayed, but refusing to show any weakness, the Digimon of Miracles remained strong.
"Victory Blade!" UlforceVeedramon then called out as his energy blades activated, rushing towards his foe as he swung his blade, only for DarkVenusmon to easily dodge each slash.
Despite UlforceVeedramon's incredible speed and power, DarkVenusmon continued to overpower him, looking at UlforceVeedramon with a dark and cynical smile.
Spinning around and delivering a swift kick to the knight Digimon's chest in retaliation, this sent him flying back, before the tendrils slammed into his chest more, causing him to cry out as he was went crashing into several trees, while groaning as he felt great pain from where the tendrils struck.
"Don't fight it, just accept your demise." DarkVenusmon said, the tendrils around her regrouping, keeping her dark gaze upon UlforceVeedramon as she commented. "Maybe my Masters will show the same mercy and bring you back as they have me."
'They?' UlforceVeedramon questioned mentally as he tried to get up, adding to his thoughts as he wondered. 'What's going on here? Doesn't she serve Barbamon?'
Slowly approaching UlforceVeedramon, preparing to finish him off, the corrupt Oylmpian didn't even stop when Sakuyamon and Ophanimon appeared from her sides, each charging ahead and preparing to attack.
"Thunder Kick!" Sakuyamon declared with a sudden boost in her movements, shooting herself toward DarkVenusmon and preparing to deliver a powerful kick to the Dark Digimon's face.
"Eden's Javelin!" Ophanimon followed up, surrounding her weapon in light, before swinging it forth and trying to slam it upon DarkVenusmon's being.
However, with an almost graceful movement, DarkVenusmon spun around, causing Sakuyamon to move past her, where the corrupt Olympian grabbed the shaman Digimon by her ankle, before spinning her around and throwing her at Ophanimon, who moved her weapon out of the way in time for Sakuyamon to collide into her, both crying out as they went flying back, only to be caught as UlforceVeedramon grabbed them and brought the duo down to the ground.
"You both alright?" The knight Digimon asked the pair, who nodded weakly in reply.
"We've been better." Sakuyamon confessed, turning to look at DarkVenusmon with a small scowl. "But whatever happened to DarkVenusmon has really upped her game."
Nodding to Sakuyamon's words, Ophanimon was about to speak, but found the atmosphere fill with DarkVenusmon's dark energy, this forcing her, Sakuyamon and UlforceVeedramon to refocus, knowing they couldn't afford a single minute against their wicked opponent.
Meanwhile, as the fight with DarkVenusmon went on, nearby, Zephyrmon and MetalKabuterimon each felt worry as Velgemon began to fly above them, while Arresterdramon: SM looked at the pair and asked. "So... I take it you've fought this guy before, correct? How do we beat him?"
"Technically, we weren't the ones who beat him." MetalKabuterimon replied, before adding. "Our friends, Takuya and Koji, managed to take him down."
"And even then, they were much stronger than us." Zephyrmon added as she looked upon herself and the Warrior of Thunder, feeling a little weary, since both Takuya and Koji were in their Fusion Evolution forms to face their Velgemon, an ability neither she nor JP possessed.
Gulping lightly, the Warrior of Wind really missed Takuya at this moment, a part of her wondering if that was why she was trying to latch onto Davis, since he reminded her so much of him, before her thoughts were interrupted when JP spoke up.
"Still, it's like Takuya told us, 'it's not over 'til it's over'." MetalKabuterimon said, knowing that despite their inability to Fusion Evolve, they were still a team, they had friends to help them in their fight, while knowing they had grown stronger over the years, his confidence caused Zephyrmon to smile behind her mask and nod to JP's words.
"Alright then, let's take this oversized turkey down then!" Arresterdramon: SM called out with his own enthusiasm, leaping into the air as Velgemon let out a cry of rage, while his tail moved to point towards his attacker.
From the tip, a powerful blast of red energy fired out, causing Arresterdramon: SM to quickly move out of the way, while Zephyrmon rushed past him, her claws glowing with energy.
"Plasma Paws!" The Warrior of Wind announced, gathering spheres of red energy around her claws, preparing to set them upon Velgemon and allow the energies of her attack to literally tear through him.
However, reacting to Zephyrmon's attack, Velgemon spread his wings out and gave a great and fearsome roar, the intensity of which threw Zephyrmon and Arresterdramon aside, the sight shocking MetalKabuterimon and Tagiru.
"Electron Cannon!" The Warrior of Thunder then bellowed, slamming his hands into the ground and took aim with his head cannon directed at Velgemon, unleashing a powerful blast of electric energy at the flying Digimon, the energies slamming right into Velgemon's chest and setting the sky ablaze around the Dark Digimon.
"Alright!" MetalKabuterimon called out with confidence, which quickly disappeared as the smoke cleared, revealing Velgemon completely unharmed, before the Dark Digimon let out another roar, where JP and Tagiru felt they couldn't move, though not from fear.
"What's happening...?!" Tagiru yelled through the groan he felt, before seeing a dark circle from around the pair, the energy beginning to close around them, only for Zephyrmon and Arresterdramon to quickly fly down and grab the pair before the dome closed, being sent flying back as it exploded and left a massive crater where the pair once were.
Paling at the sight, to know that could've been them, Tagiru through growing panic. "What... what was that...?"
"Ok... now I remember Takuya mentioning that..." MetalKabuterimon replied with his own fear as the three Digimon and one human looked back up at Velgemon, who looked down at them with a dark glint in his eyes.
"Lighting Joust!"
"Wing Blade!"
"Atomic Ray!"
"Full Moon Blaster!"
The others, meanwhile, announced, continuing their battle DexDorugoramon as they launched their attacks at him, finding that despite its decaying appearance, DexDorugamon was far more powerful than expected, not only using its wings to block their attacks, but also taking a swing at Gallantmon, who used his shield for defense, only to get knocked back into HiAndromon with a powerful strike, sending both flying back.
"Seriously, what is this guy made of?!" Kazu questioned through HiAndromon as he helped Gallantmon up, only for the pair to quickly move aside as DexDorugoramon began pounding its feet into the ground, trying to crush the pair beneath its feet as they moved about, showing its ferocity.
"Gale Claw!" MirageGaogamon yelled as he rushed to aid his allies, finding DexDorugoramon responding as it turned to face him, using its steel claws to parry MirageGaogamon's blades as the two began to fight.
Keeping his distance, but staying in range to support his partner, Thomas did his best to learn DexDorugoramon's attack patterns, to see if he could find a weakness in the Digimon's method of attacks.
But suddenly grasping MirageGaogamon in its wings, MirageGaogamon could only watch as the metal framing around DexDorugoramon's face began to light up with a pitch black energy, where it was about to deliver a devastating blow, to the point of allowing itself to take damage.
"Phoenix Claw!" Garudamon then called out as she rushed to strike DexDorugoramon from behind, hoping it would at least distract him and let MirageGaogamon go.
Though Garudamon's attack managed to land, striking DexDorugoramon's face and leaving a burning scar, releasing MirageGaogamon, DexDorugoramon gave a furious roar toward the Digimon of Love, before the decaying machine Digimon swung around, swinging its tail at Garudamon.
Dodging the tail as she jumped back, Garudamon was caught off guard as the sparking cables she believed to be of little value suddenly shot out from the remains of DexDorugoramon's tail, wrapping around Garudamon's waist, not only restraining her, but the cables began sending electrical charges, surrounding the Digimon of Love in an electrified aura and causing her to cry out from the pain now filling her.
"Garudamon!" Sora cried out in fear at seeing her partner in such a state, watching as DexDorugoramon continued to electrify Garudamon, to the point the Digimon of Love sank to her knees, leaving a growing concern and uncertainty within Sora, unsure of what she could do to help.
Not to far from them, Rosemon, JetMervamon and Cho Hakkimon moved around and dodged NeoMyotismon's Nightmare Leeches, the vampiric Digimon laughing at them, while Yoshi, Nene and Airu felt frustrated as their partners tried to hold their own against their new foe.
"You're more pathetic than I imagined. I'll end you quickly." NeoMyotismon then commented, looking upon the Digimon that dared face him with a growing arrogance, before showing the group his power.
"Doom Cannon!"
Gathering his darkness within the moon shaped core upon his chest, NeoMyotismon fired off a tremendous stream of dark energy towards the female Digimon, who quickly moved out of the way to dodge the attack, which cut down a large portion of the forest in the process, causing the three Digimon to growl at the clear recklessness of NeoMyotismon, knowing he was the type to destroy everything if it meant he could make his opponents suffer.
Keeping themselves in control, JetMervamon and Cho Hakkimon moved in to strike, both readying their signature weapons, planning to work alongside one another and deal a combo attack with Mervamon's blade and Cho Hakkaimon's hammer.
However, extending his claws, NeoMyotismon snared the duo in his grasp, laughing, not only to see them struggling to break free, but applying pressure to his hold over the pair caused them to cry from the growing pain they were subjected to.
"Forbidden Tempest!" Rosemon then suddenly declared as a shower of rose petals shot towards her foe, reminding NeoMyotismon that she too was still in the fight, causing him to throw JetMervamon and Cho Hakkaimon to the side as he blocked the attack with his arms.
After recovering from the attack, looking back at Rosemon with a dark glint and a wicked smile, NeoMyotismon was ready to finish her off.
"The Ray of Victory!"
"Sefirot Crystal!"
"Fox Drive!"
UlforceVeedramon, Ophanimon and Sakuyamon unleashed their attacks at DarkVenusmon, who only shocked them once more as a dark barrier formed around her, easily deflecting their attacks and leaving her unharmed.
"Who gave you this power?" Davis demanded through UlforceVeedramon, causing Ophanimon and Sakuyamon to look at him in confusion as he continued. "Barbamon didn't bring you back, someone else did, who?"
"You'll never know." DarkVenusmon said back, refusing to allow anything distract her from her desires, to see her enemies defeated and destroyed.
Keeping up with her unrelenting attacks, DarkVenusmon called upon the dark tendrils again, sweeping them along and around the area, trying to strike her enemies and eliminate them with no mercy, while dark energy began to form in her hands once again.
Meanwhile, Zephyrmon let out a pained groan as she tried to get up, MetalKabuterimon next to her, while Arresterdramon had been knocked out and De-Digivolved back to Gumdramon, where the Legendary Warriors looked up and saw Velgemon almost chuckling down at them, ready to finish them off.
'It can't end like this.' JP thought as his mind brought up images of the rest of their friends, of Takuya, Koji, Koichi and Tommy, of their old adventures, how their friendship helped make him a better person, and their drive to never give up.
Zoe, meanwhile, had similar thoughts, with her mind focusing more on Takuya, and how much she missed him, now mentally berating herself for how she's been acting around Davis and the others.
'I can't let it end here, I... I need to see him again... I need to tell him how I really feel!' Zoe thought as she and MetalKabuterimon slowly got up, each with determined looks in their eyes as they looked up at Velgemon.
Meanwhile, seeing her partner still being tortured by DexDorugoramon, Sora gripped her Digivice tightly, before shocking Thomas as she ran towards the Dark Digimon, worry and concern filling the blond and causing him to cry out. "Sora, wait!"
Though she knew she was putting herself in danger and feeling a fear filling her, ignoring her more rational side, Sora continued to listen to her heart and rushed ahead, her mind filling with memories of all the times Biyomon had been there for her, while knowing that Davis would do the same in her position, before she tried to pull on the cables, crying out slightly as the electricity hurt her, but keeping a determined look on her face.
'I won't let you hurt my partner anymore...' Sora thought.
'I won't give up, I'll help my friends!' JP thought.
'We'll make it through this... and go home... together!' Zoe thought.
Then, without warning, Sora's Digivice began to glow with a shining gold light, the Crest of Miracles forming on it, along with Garudamon, while Zephyrmon and MetalKabuterimon found their forms began to glow as well, before cocoons of Data formed around them, much to everyone's shock.
"Fusion Evolution!" The voices of Zoe and JP called from within, before the data cocoons burst apart, revealing the two Legendary Warriors standing in forms before their friends and foe.
Looking upon the Warrior of Wind, despite seeing her being continuing to show off a more femimine side, looking into her eyes as they slowly opened, the others could see the renewed determination within them, before taking in her complete form.
Her body was now covered by white armour, covering her chest, arms, upper legs and feet, with pink trimmings running along her figure, while her gloves and boots held a section of what looked like turbines, giving her something of a robotic warrior appearance.
A set of white metal wings were now attached to the back of Zoe's new armour, her face held similar qualities to Zephyrmon, including the same blue hair and face mask, only a decorative plane was set atop her head.
Finally, in her hands was a large white and blue pinwheel, with the symbol of Wind set upon the centre, which she swung it around and declared proudly. "JetSilphymon!"
During Zoe's evolution, both mentally and physically, a similar occurrence happened to the Warrior of Thunder, with the data cocooning his form expanding greatly before dispelling, revealing a hulking size Digimon now in place.
Losing his more metallic based appearance, the Warrior of Thunder now stood as a gigantic stag beetle, keeping the same blue and gold details to his appearance as his other forms.
Though he appeared more beastly, sticking to moving upon six massive legs, JP was in complete control, evident as his voice was heard after the new Digimon form spread out its wings, gathering lightning around the great horn protruding from its armoured head, letting out with might. "RhinoKabuterimon!"
Meanwhile, and giving a mechanical screech as the wires and a fraction of its tail burnt away into nothingness, DexDorugoramon stumbled forward, turning as the glowing form of Garudamon took to the sky, before being enveloped in an orb of light.
"Garudamon, Digivolve to...!" The Digimon of Love began to say, feeling Sora's continued love filling her, allowing her to ascend to her Mega Level as the light around her form expanded and faded, revealing Garudamon had reverted back to more of a beastly form, a great and mighty bird with four gold feathered wings and many tails flowing behind her, with a golden mask over her eyes and beak, which let out with a fierce voice, Sora now standing on her head as they looked down at their foe. "Phoenixmon!"
Velgemon and DexDorugoramon let out roars as they faced their new foes, with Velgemon extending its wings to try and unleash its dark energy attack once again and annihilate its foes for good, only for JetSilphymon's wings to ignite with energy as she shot up towards her foe.
"Jet Binter!" The Warrior of Wind declared as she temporarily discarded her pinwheel, pointed her arms at her foe, before powerful blasts of wind shot out towards Velgemon, striking the Dark Digimon at its center and sending it flying back in pain.
"Condenser Storm!" RhinoKabuterimon followed with a great and mighty call as he opened his wings, the electricity gathering within them as they flapped, before forming a massive cloud above Velgemon, unleashing a torrent of lightning bolts down on it, causing the Dark Digimon to cry out even further.
"Ultra Turbulence!" JetSilphymon then announced, gracefully swinging her pinwheel around and giving it a great wave, this creating a massive onslaught of wind, not only pushing Velgemon back, but the power that came with the attack began cutting through his form.
"Thunder Laser!" RhinoKabuterimon called as he gathered all his newfound electrical power into his horn and released it, sending a gigantic volt of thunder directly upon Velgemon, consuming him within the electrified attack, this, alongside Zoe's power caused Velgemon to let out one final, deafening cry, before dissolving into Data, the sight amazing Tagiru and Gumdramon, renewing their fighting spirits as they got back up, ready to help the others as best they could, despite Gumdramon's injuries.
During Zoe and JP's victory, Phoenixmon continued to stare DexDorugoramon down from above, who let out a loud roar, ready to strike at his new foe.
Extending his wings, which began to accumulate with dark energy, the reanimated Digimon prepared to release an onslaught of dark waves as to destroy all those around it.
But cutting in, quite literally, Gallantmon and HiAndromon continued to show they had Phoenixmon's back.
"Spiral Saber!"
"Lightning Blade!"
Using their bladed attacks, Gallantmon and HiAndromon rushed past DexDorugoramon, each slicing at the area where their foe's wings met his body, cutting through the various stitches and metal framings holding them together and slicing clean through them, which left the dark Digimon let out a roar of rage and pain.
Both grateful for their assistance, but ready to finish off DexDorugoramon, to put an end to a Digimon that should've been destroyed long ago, Sora and Phoenixmon attacked.
"Starlight Explosion!" The Digimon of Love bellowed as she increased the intensity of her flaps, releasing a following wave of flame with her movements, her attack raining down upon DexDorugoramon and causing it to give another cry as the wisps of flame that made contact with its being began to burn away at its damaged frame.
"Let's finish this, Phoenixmon!" Sora called out, getting a nod from her partner as flames began to gather in her mouth.
"Crimson Flare!" She announced, matching might to Sora's, casting the inferno from her beak and blasting it upon DexDorugoramon, consuming it within the growing inferno and causing the Dark Digimon to cry out as its body broke apart and dissolved into Data, freeing the group to go and aid their allies in their battles.
As Velgemon and DexDorugoramon fell, NeoMyotismon focused his attention on Rosemon, before raising an eyebrow as he saw her beginning to glow with a pink light.
"Charge! D.N.A. Burst Mode!" Yoshi then let out, drawing NeoMyotismon's attention to the auburn haired girl and saw that the spike in Rosemon's power was her doing.
As Yoshi set her energized hand upon her Data Link Digivice, it gave her partner the power to change, with Rosemon calling out through the pink energies enveloping and altering her. "Rosemon Double Warp Digivolve to... Rosemon: Burst Mode!"
However, NeoMyotismon wasn't impressed.
"Ha, you think a simple change like that will help you? Doom Cannon!" The vampiric Digimon called out as he fired the dark energy from his chest once again, believing like many Dark Digimon that humans were weak and incapable of power.
But setting her hand on her chest, feeling Yoshi's energy as part of her, Rosemon: BM fought back.
"Jewel of Heart!" Rosemon: BM then cried out with a continued might as she fired a blast of pink energy at her foe, which not only cut through NeoMyotismon's attack, much to his surprise, but also pierced his chest, causing him to let out a cry of pain as there was now a gaping hole right through his very being.
"You... you little weed...! You dare think you can...?" NeoMyotismon began to curse out, before letting out another cry of pain as a blade pierced his back, coming out his stomach area, where he painfully looked behind him to see JetMeramon smirking at him.
"We've got you now, you ugly creep!" A voice then yelled from above, causing the vampiric Digimon to look up, his eyes widening as Cho Hakkaimon coming down at him, her hammer blazing and a furious glint in her eyes as she prepared to strike.
"Home Swung Homerun!" Cho Hakkaimon let out with a continued blazing enthusiasm in her voice, slamming her hammer right into NeoMyotismon's head, causing him to cry out as he began to break apart into Data, where the hammer hit the ground as the Data particles flew about around them.
"And he is out of here!" Cho Hakkaimon said with a self confident smirk on her face, resting her hammer on her shoulder, causing JetMervamon to let out a chuckle, along with Rosemon: BM.
But with a fiction of Barbamon's dark forces yet to be dealt with, the Digimon and their respective partners left to help the others, rekindling the spark of battle in Cho Hakkaimon's eyes.
During the loss of her allies, DarkVenusmon continued to smirk as she sent out blasts of dark energy at UlforceVeedramon, Ophanimon and Sakuyamon, who did their bests to dodge the attacks, alongside the dark tendrils, with the corrupt Olympian smirking as she saw the knight Digimon moving every now and then to take the blow for his female companions.
However, her smirk then changed as she saw herself surrounded, looking to see that her allies were defeated, and that the other heroes had come to their friends aid, with each of the fighting Digimon glaring at DarkVenusmon, ready to take her down once and for all.
But instead of being afraid, DarkVenusmon merely smirked, before jumping into the air as she brought her hands out, where dozens of dark portals opened up, along with hundreds of tendrils that shot out towards the heroes, who dodged the onslaught as best as they could, noticing that, wherever the tendrils struck, trees or rocks, the environment seemed to break apart and wind up deleted, much to their shock and horror.
"You may have survived this fight, but you are not prepared for what is to come. Savour what time you still have, it will not last!" DarkVenusmon declared, before a larger portal opened behind her and she flew back into it, which closed after she retreated and before anyone could react.
"Ok, seriously, what happened to her?! She's freakier than last time!" Kazu yelled through HiAndromon, where the other looked just as confused, but also glad to have won this latest fight.
-Sometime later-
Back at the cave, the group all waited patiently, as they agreed to go through with the plan of allowing Lilithmon to take one of Nene's Monitamon with her, so they could finally find out what Barbamon was after.
Meanwhile, Kari was a little confused when Zoe pulled her off to the side and away from the others, where the brunette asked in confusion. "Zoe, is everything ok? What do you want to talk about?"
"You love him, don't you?" The blonde asked bluntly, getting straight to the point as she turned and looked over at Davis, the question causing Kari's cheeks to turn bright red.
"I..." Kari tried to reply, but became more confused as she saw Zoe turn and smile at her.
"It's alright. I do understand because I feel the same way... about someone else." Zoe then said, making sure to empathize the last of her words to keep Kari calm, before the blonde looked back at the group, with Kari looking at Zoe with confusion, especially remembering how she seemed to be flirting with Davis the past few days.
"He reminds me so much of Takuya that I kind of got carried away. I guess I was using Davis in a way to have a temporary Takuya during all of this. He gave me so much strength during our adventure. And yet, I never have been able to tell him how I feel." Zoe then said with a small sigh, recalling how she had the chance to speak with the Warrior of Flame back at Nefertimon's library, but her hesitant attitude allowed Takuya a chance to catch some sleep.
Looking at Kari, Zoe resumed her smile and continued to give her encouragement.
"You should tell Davis how you feel. He's a good guy, and I can see that he does care about you. But don't wait too long, otherwise one of them might snatch him up." The Warrior of Wind told Kari, staring over at Rika and Airu.
Smiling, as though a weight had been lifted off of her shoulders slightly, Kari smiled at Zoe as she said in reply. "And we'll get through this, so you can go back to Takuya and let him know how you feel."
Zoe smiled back at Kari, feeling the small resentment and rivalry they shared when Zoe and the other arrived over Davis vanish, before the pair made their way back to the group, unaware of how drastic things would change for them very soon.
