CH 10
"What do you want" Jack said when he and Sam saw five rogue NID in the kitchen with guns in their hands. Jacob was sitting at the table with the kids on his lap. They were scared and crying.
"We are here to take Captain Carter with us"
"Like hell you are," Jack said. He put the grocery bags on the table, and then Sam did as well.
"Come on, Captain, and these people won't get hurt"
"And if I don't?"
"Then I'll kill the old man"
"Do you know who he is?" Jack pushed the button on his bracelet, Sam did the same; they knew all they could do is wait for the Asgard to show up.
"I don't care"
"This is my father, Major General Jacob Carter"
"A general, well I don't care, come on" he stepped forward and grabbed Sam arm.
She punched him in the noses, which caused it to brake, then she felt three darts go into her and she started to collapse. Jack got to her and laid her on the ground. He quickly removed one of the darts and move on to one of the chairs without them knowing.
"What have you done?"
"Shut up you pick her up and take her out to the van!"
Jack scooped Sam up in to his arms and stood up; he looked at Jacob before turning around and carrying Sam out to the van. There were three guys following them outside. One of the doors opened. Jack walked over and put her in the back where there were two guys waiting for her.
"You guys made a big mistake to take her"
"Shut up, she's dead anyway" one said then he pushed Jack which cause him to fall out of the van. The guy's eyes widen when they saw Jack's eyes glow.
"Get him, he a Goa'uld!"
Then three guys went and picked up Jack, he fought them till he was hit three times and collapsed on the ground.
"Come on, lets get out of here"
Two guys picked up Jack and put him in the van; they removed the bracelets and threw them out of the window just as the others ran outside of the house and got in; then they took off just as the cops showed up.
Jacob walked outside when the cops got out of the cars and walked over to him while other officers talk to the neighbors. One of the neighbors who saw what had happen walked over and picked up the two bracelets and walked over to Jacob.
"Jacob" he passed the bracelets to Jacob.
"Thanks"
"Who are those guys?"
"Sorry, classified, if you will excuse me I got a phone call to make"
Then he turned around and walked inside with the kids. He picked up Jack phone and pressed three.
"Hammond"
"George, we got a problem; the NID got Jack and Sam"
"What?" Hammond was shocked.
"Yeah and 'we' think there a mole in the SGC, they know about the bracelets, I got them in my hand"
"Dam" he let out his breath.
"Does the SDPD know about the kidnapping?"
"Yes, but they didn't take me, they were only after Sam"
"Then why did they take Colonel O'Neill?"
"Perhaps they know about you know who"
"Ok, I'll call the chief of staff about this"
"Ok, George they know where Mark lives, they might use him and the family against me and Sam"
"I'll sort everything out, I'll call soon as I can"
"Ok, thanks" then they hung up.
"Grandad, the ice cream is melting" Jacob smiled.
"Well then we should put it away, want to help me?"
His granddaughter nodded; they put every thing away while the cops were busy around the house taking fingerprints in the kitchen and dinning area. The four year old walked past a chair when she saw some thing, she knew not to touch it.
"Grandad, looked at this" Jacob walked over to see the tranquilizer dart, then realized it was the spot where Sam had collapsed. He looked around.
"Officer, I found a tranquilizer dart!" the officer walked over with a bag and picked it up and put it in the bag .
"Thanks sir" then he walked over and spoke to the detective in the case.
Half an hour later Mark and his wife ran into the house and picked up their kids and hug them.
"Dad, what's going on, where's Sam, we had the police show up at our work; they said some one from here has been kidnapped"
"Mark calm down… Sam's been kidnapped"
"What?" he was shocked.
"Dad, I think you better tell me what is going on!"
"Outside" they walked outside where they could talk in private.
"When Sam said she was working at NORAD at Colorado Springs?"
"Yes"
"Well, she was also working on other projects, top classified project, some of it is to do with black ops" Mark was shocked.
"Black ops?"
"Yes, there is a group who is interested in one of those projects that Sam is working on"
"You know what the project is?"
"Yes"
"We were told two people were kidnapped, who's the other person?" Mark's wife said.
"Colonel Jack O'Neill, he was in black ops till five years ago… he's also Sam formal CO"
"What do you mean formal?"
"Sam was under Jack's command for fifteen months before she transferred to some place else but still works at NORAD"
"Do you think it could be related?"
"Yes… there's more"
"More?"
"It's personal… Jack showed up a couple of hours ago, he proposed to Sam and she said 'yes'; after she told him that he had to ask me first, I gave them my blessing"
"What, he's Air Force, and you know"
"I know" Jacob cut his son off; "I trust Jack and you will like him once you get to know him."
"Dad, I don't think I can after Jonas"
"Jack's not like Jonas; as Jack will tell you Jonas was a nut case, as for Jack the only things he's nuts about is Sam and the Simpson's" Mark raised an eyebrow.
"He watches the Simpson's?"
"Yes and he loves kids to. I've seen him around kids, he acts like one himself"
"Has he got kids?"
"Once a son, Charlie, he died over five years ago from an accident, Jack doesn't like talking about it much, it hurts every time"
"His wife?"
"Divorced, last heard she remarry" Mark nodded, then Jack cell phone rang. Jacob opened and answered it.
"George, what have you got for me?"
"I've spoken to the President, he going to make a public announcement since the Pentagon and General Ryan have been getting phone calls about the kidnapping"
"When?"
"In a few minutes"
"Ok, what about Mark and the family?"
"I'll talk to Thor as soon as he gets here"
"Ok, talk to you soon"
"Major Davis is flying out, to San Diego in half an hour with photos for you to look at"
"Ok, thanks" then he hung up.
"Come on, the President is going to make an announcement"
"The President? I didn't know Sam knew the President!"
"Yep, her and Jack received their air medals from him a few weeks ago"
"Wow" they walked inside and back into the living room where they sat down.
Jacob pick up the remote and turned the TV on when it showed the white house news room and the words 'braking news' on the bottom. The cops who were there all turned to the TV just as the President walked up to the podium.
"An hour ago two untied state Air Force officers have been kidnapped from a family home in San Diego. The two officers names are Colonel Jonathan Jack O'Neill and Captain Samantha Carter" then it showed their photos of them, then back to the President.
"We do not know why these two officers have been targeted at the point in time and there has been no ransom demand. So if anyone who has seen them or the kidnappers, please contact the police. The two vans that were used in the kidnapping were both stolen and their trackers remove. Any question?" then he pointed to one.
"Mr President is it true that Captain Carter and Colonel O'Neill working for NORAD?"
"Yes it is true" then he pointed to another one.
"Any idea why the Colonel and Captain were kidnapped together?"
"We think it is because of a classified project they were working on over a year ago"
There was one question after another for the next five minutes before the President had to leave. Jacob picked up the remote and turned the TV off then put the remote down again. The he turned to looked at Mark who was looking at him.
"What happens now?"
"We wait, that is all we can do" Mark nodded.
Half an hour later Jack's cell phone rang; Jacob was outside when it rang. When he hung up a few minutes later, he turned around and walked back into the house and into the kitchen.
"A couple of friends of Jack and Sam will be here in twenty minutes with Major Davis"
"Ok, who brought the steaks?"
"Jack and Sam did, after Sam told him you got a barbecue"
"Ah, it's been along time since we had a barbecue"
"I know what you mean"
"When do you have to head back?"
"I'm on extended leave, so I hope you don't mind having your old man around a bit longer" Mark laughed.
"Sure that would be good, want a beer?"
"Sure" Mark got a couple of beers out and pass one to Jacob. They sat down and talked some more while enjoying the beer.
When Daniel, Teal'c and Major Davis showed up, they all talked in the living room. Jacob looked at the different photos of the NID that were shown on a laptop.
"Any word from Thor?"
"Yes, he couldn't beam you up cause you weren't alone"
"Ok, any idea who the mole is at the SGC?"
"Not a clue"
"Here's one of the men" Jacob turned the laptop around to show Major Davis.
"Ok, that's a good start, are you sure?"
"Oh yeah, Sam broke his nose"
"Ouch" Daniel said.
"Yeah" they talked some more, and Jacob was able to identify the ones who were in the house.
"Thanks General, Selmak, at least we know who they are"
"True"
"I must head back to the Pentagon and report this to General Ryan" they stood up after Major Davis closed his laptop and put it in the bag. Then they walked to the door and walked outside; they saluted each other and shook hands.
"Don't worry sir, we will find them"
"I hope so" then he walked down and got in one of the Air Force cars and headed back to the base.
Jacob walked back inside to see Mark and the family talking to Daniel and Teal'c. Daniel was telling them some funny stories about Jack and Sam that made the kids giggle.
"You know, if Jack was here right now, he would be groaning and Sam would be blushing" Jacob said smiling when he walked into the room.
"I know, that's why I'm telling them now"
"Daniel, you're playing with danger"
"I know, but at least Mark would get a fair idea what Jack is like"
"Indeed"
"Dad said that the Colonel is like a big kid?" Daniel laughed.
"Jack is a big kid, the only time he is serious is when it comes to the job at hand… oh and he is a pratacal joker on the base"
"Oh, please do tell" Mark's wife said.
"How about we go outside and talk while we cook up the steaks for the barbecue, we don't want them to go to waste," Jacob said.
"And have ice cream afterwards, grandad!"
"That is if you eat all your vegetables" she pouted which made Jacob smile.
"You know your auntie Sam did that at your age and look at her now" the little girl smiled, they stood up and walked outside so Mark could fire up the barbecue.
"I'm glad Jack's not here, he would put beer over the steaks" Daniel said. Mark looked at him.
"The colonel put beer over his steak, why?"
"You will have to ask him that one day"
"Ok"
They talked some more while the steaks and baked potatoes and corn on the cob were cooking. They were laughing at some of the stories Daniel and Teal'c told them about Jack and Sam. They all have a fun evening talking like they were old friends. Even Selmak got a laugh from some of the stories.
That night while the kids were in bed sleeping, Daniel told them some stories, which weren't for the kids to hear.
"One day Jack took the last blue jello, and he ate it in front of Sam while teasing her"
"I know Sam loves her blue jello, what did she do to Jack?" Jacob asked.
"We had a mission the next day, it was a four day mission … she put viagra in his canteen and had some extra pills with her" Mark screwed his face up.
"That was a bit mean of Sam"
"Well, revenge is sweet, after she told him what she did when we returned, she said 'revenge can be sweet' then walked away grinning. After that, he never touched the stuff unless it was the last one he grabbed it and waited for Sam to show up and got her lunch. When she saw Jack got the blue jello she was angry at first till she saw the red jello next to it, she knew he was holding on to it for her and not eating it. After that it was talk about which jello is the best"
"Sounds like he learned his lesson after that"
"Yep, sometimes Sam grabbed the last red for Jack, they had been doing that for the last two months till her transfer. When they do get together which wasn't often they talk and argue over which is the best jello, but they always tease and flirt with each other"
"Sounds like what Mark and I do sometimes"
"Well, there you go" Daniel said smiling. They talked for the next two hours before calling it a night.
