Well, I have nothing much to say in this chapter except that I now have a new Beta reader (Insert party noises) Other than that I have nothing else to say. Anyway, let's move on to the comments.
B.N: So, hello I'm said beta reader, I'm just here to say that I'm new to beta and proofreading so if there is any suggestion or if you see some error just say so in the comments with a review so we can change it. Also I will start working on some of the earlier chapters sometime soon so look forward to that.
RenegadeChai: Well yea, I suppose that someone who had spent his entire life fighting to survive would beat Pyrrha but we got to remember, Jade's aura level is lower than usual and that his semblance is a powerful one, at the cost of rapidly draining his already lower aura levels. In a way, Jade has to hold back due to his smaller aura pool. If let's say he has Jaune's aura pool, then yes, Jade will crush Pyrrha no problem. Though that is how I see it at least.
LilBoiaSenpai: Yea now I think of it, Jade the scene with the thugs would have made much more sense if Blake didn't cover her ears, but yea, Jade's overprotectiveness would help and detriment him in the future. I have big plans for Jade and how it's going to hit him in the face sooner than later.
But anyway, let's get on with this chapter.

Chapter 11
Fun and Relaxation
After yesterday's incident, Jade agreed with Blake to stay in Beacon, for now, to catch up on homework and some other stuff though Yang had some plans for the cat faunus couple. (hint: it involves the good stuff.)
"Ok... how do we kill a Deathstalker?" Ruby asked her teammates while they were in the library at Weiss's request.
"The deathstalker's armor is tough so using bullets on its armor is useless, aim for the gaps in between its armor plates, or use blunt damage to crack them and disorientate it. If possible, use the deathstalker's own stinger against its head which would kill it instantly." Jade answers for Ruby as he continues writing down answers for Professor Port's homework.
"Wow… That was fast." Yang, in the meantime continued to write; I mean copy Jade's answer from behind him.
"Next is… Beringels" Ruby continued as they all continued writing.
"Beringels are an intelligent species of Grimm, so exercise caution when dealing with them. Overall they are a strong and durable Grimm, so aiming at weak points like its eyes would hamper it by a margin, though it knows that and would try to defend and counter your attacks. Watch out as Beringels will occasionally throw fellow Grimm at us if we are too far for it to reach us." Jade continued much to the nodding of others except Yang who laughed at the thought of a Beowolf being thrown at them and missing.
"You seem to know a lot of these types of Grimm Jade," Weiss asked Jade.
"Yes, I do."
"Ugh! I'm bored already!" Yang moaned aloud before she began scrolling through her scroll.
"Sorry Yang, but we have to finish this before we can do anything else. Besides, if we were to finish this earlier, we would have more time to rest before the second term starts next week." Ruby explained to her sister as she continued writing down.
"Ruby has a point, Yang after we are done we then can do anything till the second term starts." Blake, who was beside Jade, agreed with her leader.
"Can't you be patient a while longer Xiao Long? Most of us are almost done with it anyway." Weiss questioned Yang as she finished her homework.
"Nope." Yang blatantly stated back.
Much later after all of team RWBY (and Jade) had finished all of their homework they all walked back to their dorm and did their own thing, until Ruby had a question on her mind and spoke.
"What traits do you guys get from cats?" Ruby asked the two feline faunus in their team as both turned their attention to their leader.
"why are you asking this now?" Jade gave her a curious look as Blake continued reading her book.
"Well, since both of you guys are part cat, I was wondering what traits you guys get from cats besides your kitty ears." Ruby answered Jade back.
"I suppose that has been on my mind as well." Weiss says as she joins in the conversation.
"Yeah! So what do you guys get from cats?" Yang, seeing an opportunity to get more information for potential pranks on her faunus teammates, joined in.
Both feline faunus looked at each other before Jade shrugs and speaks to the rest of the team. "Well besides our love for fish, we can also land on our feet while in the air."
"So if I were to drop you from our window while holding you by your legs, you would then land on your feet?" Yang questioned.
"Well… yes, we would twist our body to make us land on our feet should you drop us. And no Yang, we are not going to be your test subjects should you decide to test that theory." Jade answered before glaring at Yang who just laughed it away as the idea of tossing Jade or Blake out of the window to see if they would land on their feet came to her mind.
"Wait how does that work?" Weiss was next to ask.
"I honestly do not know… Do you know anything about it, Blake?" Jade admitted before asking his girlfriend for help.
"I do not know myself, unfortunately, we never bothered to go into detail on how we did it, it's like why some of us cat faunus have tails and no ears while others have the opposite. No tail but have ears." Blake explained to the best of her ability that even they don't really know their biology.
"So even you guys don't know how you work." Ruby comments with sadness and pity in her voice.
"Nope… not in the slightest." Jade added in.
"Besides that, what about water getting sprayed on you?" Yang asked as she somehow pulled a water gun out of nowhere.
"Yang, what are you-" Jade did not manage to finish what he was saying as Yang pointed the water gun at the cat couple and sprayed at them.
This got both of them to start hissing and glaring at Yang from the floor where they had been sitting prior to Yang wetting them.
"Yang… please refrain from spraying water on us in the future, you almost wet Blake's book." Jade's ears twitched in annoyance as he requested Yang with a deadpan tone, while Blake, on the other hand, was checking her book to see if it got wet in the process.
"Ok… So won't run when wet but get really angry or annoyed." Yang says, pulling out a booklet writing it down.
Jade sighed as he went to the bathroom and brought out two towels, one for Blake and one for himself.
"Here you go, Blake." Jade said to Blake as he passed a towel to her as she accepted it.
"Thank you, Jade." Blake smiled back as she took the towel from Jade and dried herself.
"Moving on… Do both of you go into heat?" Yang asked, everyone in the room except for Ruby (she is too innocent for it), blushed rapidly as they heard what she had said.
"I… I…" Blake could only stutter as her face was redder than Ruby's cloak as Jade remained silent and also reddened at the thought of a Blake in heat aka 'Thirsty' Blake coming for him.
"Yang! Why do you have to ask such a crude question?" Weiss yelled at Yang even as her face is reddening.
Yang just stuck a tongue out at Weiss and looked back at the faunus couple who were still blushing heavily. She then wiggled her eyebrows in anticipation at Blake's answer which did not help them at all.
"Yes… I do go into heat…"
"As do I…"
Both finally admitted that they would go into heat. Jade, in an attempt to distract both of them from this embarrassing situation, pulled Blake in for a hug and gave her ear scratches which she accepted graciously.
"Ooooh! Looks like you got to watch out both of you, otherwise either Jady or Blakey might be tempted to do the deed!"
"Hey! We both take medications every month to prevent it from happening right, Blake?" He told Yang as Blake nodded her head while on Jade's shoulder.
"Is that so… how about catnip?" Yang moved on.
"Never tried it so no idea, not that I want to take it anytime soon." Jade gave his answer as Blake got up from him, much to Jade's disappointment, though he didn't show it.
"I don't take it at all." Blake said as she sat next to Jade.
"Guys! It's near dinner time, we should make our way there." Ruby informed her team as she got off the floor.
"Well… I heard that there's a special fish & chips in the dining hall today, If I'm correct, they are using tuna instead of the dory fish that they always use. Jade told Blake as both of them got up from the floor.
"Really?" Blake asked him with joy in her voice.
"Yep!" Jade hugged her.
A week later, the team had decided to go to the beach as next week, their second term will begin.
Both team RWBY and JNPR were in the bullhead that would take them to the beach, and all of them were equally excited for their time at the beach. Jade had decided to bring some cooking materials with him as it would be the perfect time for a barbeque while over there.
As they arrived at the beach, all of them decided to claim one corner of the beach for themselves and settle down.
Jade is currently shirtless which exposes his muscular body with small scars all over his body and the notable burn scar on his left shoulder is covered by a piece of white cloth that extends down towards his hand. He is also wearing a green-black board shorts and his hair is not tied up which lets his shoulder-length hair down.
As for Blake on the other hand?
She was wearing a stylish black bikini with an alluring amount of straps holding it together. (naughty kitty) Blake's hips were practically in full view and were covered by thin crosses of cloth and much of her body was exposed except certain parts of it which were covered with some X shape decoration. And yes she still has her bow as of yet.
Yang being Yang decides to wear something that... does not leave much to the imagination. She wore a string bikini and little of anything else; bright yellow which hugged her curves and exposed her pale but beautiful skin. As for the other two members? Weiss had decided to wear something more moderate in design. A backless white jumpsuit that has the Schnee logo on it, its corners are teal in colour that extends all the way to the back, she is also wearing a hat along with it.
Ruby on the other hand had decided to wear a black belted swimsuit that has stripes of red as well as roses on it, to finish it up she wore an elastic belt buckle that is made up of red, black and a bit of white. It also has Ruby's rose emblem symbol on it.
As everyone settled down, Nora immediately rushed towards the sea as Ren chased after her, Jaune was more inclined to stay and watch the view as Nora began to splash water onto Ren. Pyrrha joins Jaune because you know…. (Come on Pyrrha ask him out!) Weiss was more inclined to continue to set up some of the public benches and mats while Ruby helped her help, Yang, however, was purposely flaunting about for all to get a good look at her much to Weiss's displeasure.
As for our faunus couple? They were currently in one of the private beach showers washing and flirting with each other, they were also enjoying their quiet time together.
"I guess this was part of your plan right?" Jade asked Blake as water caresses down their body while they hugged it out.
"Well… partly, I did suggest it but it was Ruby who wanted to go after all." Blake gave Jade a cheeky grin as she turned around and gave Jade a good look at her backside as if she was trying to invite Jade to stare at her.
"Ok, you are definitely doing this on purpose, not like I'm going to complain about it."
"Really?" Blake turned around and looked at Jade's body while still having a smile on her face before continuing on.
"And what about you? Aren't you also doing this on purpose, exposing your hard abs for me to enjoy?"
Jade just laughed as they both continued to admire each other's body figure before a knock on the door disrupts their peacetime.
"Blake! Jade! What are you two doing in there? Something dirty I imagine." Yang's voice could be heard outside the door.
"Yang! Can't you leave us alone for some time?" Jade answered Yang back with annoyance in his voice.
"Nope! Besides, Weiss sent me to find you and make sure that you don't do anything naughty."
"We are not Yang!" Blake shouted at her partner as both cat faunus blushed a bit.
"Then come out already! You are missing a lot out here!"
Jade sighed before turning back to his girlfriend. I suppose we should go. Though we should do this more often." Jade whispers the last part to Blake's ears. As he passes Blake her bow.
"Promise?" Blake asked back as she puts on her bow, which she had changed to her waterproof version for the occasion.
"Yeah, promise…" Jade then opened the shower door only to see Yang just outside of the showers in her yellow bikini with her arms on her hips, giving both of them a grin.
"You guys spent a while in there, you sure you didn't do anything naughty in there? Because your faces are a bit red." Yang commented as she pointed at Blake's slightly reddened face.
"Yep…" Jade commented as he walked out of the showers and towards the beach while holding Blake's hand.
As they walked across the beach towards where their team had settled down, many eyes gazed upon the couple. To others, a very handsome faunus who is well built with small scars that riddled his body had found a very attractive girl for himself who wears eye-catching swimwear, much to the awe, jealousy, and disdain of the more racist ones.
"So Jade what are your plans?" Blake asked him as they arrived at the spot that both teams had claimed for themselves.
"Well, I was thinking of relaxing you know… After that we still need to do some research on what the Fang are planning." Jade answered Blake.
Just recently, Blake had been digging around for clues about the White Fang, Jade noticed it and agreed to help her out on the condition she does not exhaust herself in the process, which she wholeheartedly agreed to Jade's assistance and condition.
"Right, them…" Blake's mood turned serious.
"No matter. We are here to relax, aren't we? So we just put it aside for now, after all, I have never been to the beach before."
"You never went before?"
"Well yea, at the time, survival and money was all that mattered to me. As of now? Enjoying life with my team and my girlfriend is what takes its place."
"Well, I'm not complaining."
The couple decided to just relax on the beach by laying on the beach towel, near Weiss who was lying near them under a large umbrella.
Ruby, Jaune, and Pyrrha were seen building sand castles while Yang was swimming in the sea. Nora was beating everyone who challenges her in a volleyball match as Ren unenthusiastically cheers for her on the side-lines.
During the whole thing, Jade fell asleep while sunbathing with Blake till Yang poured cold water on both of them, this pissed them so much that both faunus chased Yang (while swearing to do something to her once they get their hands on her) all around the beach much to everyone amusement except Weiss's who was still under the large umbrella and just sighed while smiling at what she saw. (which bewildered Yang so much she fell face first on the sand.)
It was then that Jade and Blake challenged Yang and Ruby to a volleyball match with Nora as their hype woman and Ren as their referee. The only thing unique about this duel is that semblances are allowed, this resulted in Ruby using her semblance to save her team multiple times much to the faunus couple annoyance.
Jade would regularly use his semblance to save his team and aim for trick shots. At one point, Yang used her semblance and sent the ball flying to the couple's side only for Jade to counter it.
"Blake, toss it up!" he yelled as Jade landed back on the ground.
"Right!" Blake then bounced the ball back up high in the air, Jade then jumped up and slammed the ball down to the sister's side of the court.
Seeing the ball flying towards the floor, Ruby intercepted it and yelled, "As if!"
"Nice Pass!" Yang yelled as she jumped and slammed the ball back.
This went on for quite a while with neither side giving in anytime soon. This attracted a large amount of people much to Weiss's annoyance who didn't like having so many people near them all of a sudden.
It didn't help that Nora was being there and hyping everything up. People began cheering at which side they think will win in this huntsmen game of volleyball. It all ended when Jade managed to sneak a shot which resulted in a score of 16 - 14, (Jade and Blake - Ruby and Yang.) respectfully.
"And there's the game! The winner of this extraordinary duel is Blake and Jade!" Nora announces as a deafening amount of cheers can be heard throughout the beach site. Both sides were panting in exhaustion at the scene that they had done and the crowds had begun to disperse.
"Well played Yang and Ruby, but today it looks like we are the winners." Jade had a proud grin on his face as both he and Blake leaned on each other for support.
Ruby pouted as she complained. "No fair you guys won! I can't believe we lost Yang." Ruby turned and faced her sister who looked calm even though they lost.
"Don't worry Rubies, we will get them next time." Yang says with confidence as both she and Jade shake hands.
"We shall see Yang; we shall see…" Jade comments.
"Well I'm going to get a drink, Blake do you want to come along? The day is still fresh."
"Sure I don't mind."
Much later, the couple went and met a fruit juice vendor. Jade bought watermelon juice for both himself and Blake and both spent some time talking to each other and the vendor.
After a while, after they finished their juice, both of them returned to see Nora's unusually big sand castle with her on top of it claiming that she is the queen of the world. Ren could be seen at the bottom of the castle trying to get Nora to come down, though she refused much to Ren's quiet annoyance.
"Well Blake, do you want to go for a swim? Or would you prefer to continue relaxing some more time?"
"Hmm… We could continue our relaxation or…"
"Or what?" Jade tilted his head at Blake as his cat ears twitched.
Blake just grabbed Jade's face much to his surprise and kissed him on the lips, in front of everyone, there were numerous cheers and whistles in the background, but Jade couldn't care less. Yang was fortunately in the seas so she couldn't be there to take a shot of them.
Both of them broke their kiss and Jade's face reddened rapidly from embarrassment while Blake had a smug smile on her face.
"Ok… you did that on purpose." He mumbled as he failed to hide his face from the crowds as they pulled back to their own corner.
"You are cute when you're embarrassed." Blake only says that as Jade's face turned so red it could rival Ruby's cloak.
"Stop it..." Jade mumbled as still trying to hide his face from the crowds behind them.
Blake just giggles as she drags him towards the sea. Jade was no longer blushing madly and had calmed down from the embarrassment though now he was plotting how to get back at her in the future.
As Blake dragged Jade into the waters, she began to splash Jade in the face with water, Jade just retaliated with his own splashes. In the end, it resulted in an all-out water-war between Ruby, Yang, Blake, Jade, Nora, Ren, Jaune, and Pyrrha.
Jade had not felt so alive in a long time, besides, this is the first moment he really enjoyed his time over here. Seeing smiles on everyone's face, including Blake, and laughing away as water splashed on everyone (except Weiss because she is an Ice queen) It also reminds him, this new life he now had demanded a new drive. And his new drive is to fight to protect those he cared about in this depressing world consumed by the darkness.
Eventually, the gang met up again on land and had a barbeque session, grilled vegetables and meat were present. Blake was very happy when Jade brought some Tuna for her as well.
The gang spent the last few hours at the beach enjoying their time together and enjoying a barbecue dinner.
Much later, the sun had begun to set, and all of team RWBY (and Jade) and team JNPR packed up everything and made their way to catch their ride back to Beacon.
Though before that, Jade joined Blake for another shower to wash off the salt and sand for their body. Both kissed each other on the lips before joining everyone else.
When team RWBY (and Jade) arrived back into their dorm, a package could be seen on the floor.
"Uh, why is there a package outside our door?" Ruby was first to ask.
"Did someone buy something online?" Jade was next to ask.
"Oh! It arrived!" Yang said with excitement in her voice which worried the faunus couple for some reason.
The team entered their dorm as Yang took the package with her. Everyone began to unpack whatever they brought with them and then gathered at the centre of their room after all of them had showered and rested enough.
"So… what is this, Yang?" Ruby asked her sister.
"I got a bad feeling about this Yang…" Jade spoke his thoughts.
"Ditto." Blake agreed with her boyfriend.
"Oh calm down you guys, it won't go badly. I promise."
"Now I know it WILL go badly, thank you, Yang." Jade snarked at Yang while Blake giggles a little.
Yang just sticks her tongue out at the couple before pulling out a penknife and opening a package. Inside the package were several bottles containing some strange herbs yet, they had no labels on each bottle.
"What did you buy Yang?" Weiss took one of the small bottles out and observed its contents.
"Oh don't worry about it." Yang assured her as she opened the bottle and poured some of it on her hand.
"Wait a minute, is tha-'' Jade didn't manage to say his piece as Yang blew the herbs straight at the couple.
Both of them started coughing heavily before seemingly zoning out as their eyes seemingly turned hazy.
"Yang what did you do!" Weiss yelled at the yellow brawler.
"Eh, don't worry about them, that's catnip." Yang assures Weiss as she points at the faunus couple seemingly in trance.
"I… I can't." Jade mumbled before collapsing onto the ground and started giggling childishly.
"Jade?" Blake stared at a collapsed Jade before crawling to Jade and started rubbing him with her body.
The other members of team RWBY were surprised and confused (except Yang) at their personality change that happened seconds ago.
A meow could be heard from Blake as she rubs Jade, Jade was also rubbing her back as an audible purr could be heard from him which both Yang and Ruby cooed, though Weiss disapproved what Yang had done, she could admit its adorable to see both Blake and Jade all cuddly and rubbing each other while purring loudly. Yang also began writing her observations on her booklet called, Things to know about cat faunus.
"I feel so relaaaxed" Jade managed to utter as he and Blake started getting more intimate with each other and both started to snuggle and fell asleep on the floor.
"Soooo… now what?" Ruby asked her sister as Yang took as many scroll shots as she could.
Weiss sighed and placed her hand on her forehead before speaking. "They are so going to kill you when they snap out of this trance state you put them in Yang."
"I know." Yang answered honestly before continuing, "Which is why I'm keeping the bottles for emergencies. Just in case of angry cat faunus."
As the team was talking both Blake and Jade woke up a few minutes later all confused.
"Wha? What happened?" Jade shook his head while Blake also got up all confused.
"I don't know Jade, I can't remember." Blake gripped her head.
"Well for your information, Yang over here used catnip on you." Weiss stated as she used her thumb to point at the bathroom as Yang was in there. (aka hiding in there)
"Are you guys alright?" Ruby asked her faunus teammates.
"I'm ok… Just confused, I can't think straight…" Jade spoke first before Blake joined in.
"I uhm… I am confused." Blake added in.
Weiss sighed before speaking. "I suppose You two go and sleep first, it would take a while for the catnip that you guys inhaled to wear off."
"Yea… that sounds nice… Blake?" Jade turned to face Blake only to see her asleep on the floor.
"I got this…" Jade mumbled as he picked her up and walked slowly toward their bed. He then lay Blake on the bed and joined her.
And such, the day ended after the team had done a lot of things today like going to the beach and getting both Blake and Jade high on catnip.
Authors notes
And we are done for this chapter. More fluff before we move on to Volume 2 everyone, there will be a non-canon omake before it officially begins but I'd like to address a few things first.
(there is something don't understand about faunus, some have tails and others just have ears, and not both. It is strange to me. And don't get to me on how a faunus breeding with a human somehow produces a pure human or faunus and not a hybrid of the two.)
I wanted to try and guess what they would try to teach in Professor Port's class, so guess that it's about studying the strengths and weaknesses of Grimm overall. I also added my own theories on how to defeat some of them, though I am not sure if it is canon but it's my work I guess.
Next, we move on to Ruby asking both their faunus teammates about their traits I admit, there's very little information that I could find that tells me whether Faunus also gains some instinctively traits besides physical traits. So I added in that they adopt some of it but not all. As an example from above, both Blake and Jade can be affected by catnip, or they have a favourite fish they like to eat. (Salmon for Jade and Tuna for Blake.)
Ok… The next part to talk about is the beach episode. I know I know, it's cliché as all balls but I wanted to write one ok, don't judge me! Anyways, as we saw, Blake is getting, let's just say, more daring. This can be blamed on Jade, after all, both of them had been supporting each other and no doubt wanted to advance her relations with Jade. Thus both of them are willing to do this but… Jade is still uncomfortable when he gets unwanted attention. He prefers his quiet time with Blake and he still suffers from slight confidence issues though he does not show it.
Ok, the volleyball part, it's a reference to that volleyball scene in the Fate series. (you can YouTube it.) I wanted to add my own spin (somewhat) to it so I incorporated a huntsman version of Volleyball which semblances are allowed.
Next, Jade helps Blake in the investigations. While it is only mentioned, it is no doubt Blake would begin her info gathering quite early as soon as after the conflict with Torchwick. But we know that Jade got critically injured and Blake got depressed, then followed by them confessing to each other. So she was distracted in short. So after a while, Blake would start her investigation and Jade WILL notice no doubt. This will affect things.
Lastly the catnip part. I wanted to introduce it in some way, so why not have Yang do online shopping and order some small bottles of catnip. Ok as to why both Blake and Jade reacted to it that way, well I based it on both how cats react to catnip (Meowing, rubbing, etc) and how we as humans react to Weed (aka getting high as fuck and relaxed) I don't know if it works but whatever it was funny to imagine them just high on catnip.
