"Can we get a cat?" Harry asked.
Cedric whipped his head around to stare at his boyfriend of two years. Hedwig chirped in protest from his left shoulder, and Cedric immediately softened, rubbing her cheek to quiet her. The opposite side of the couch creaked as Harry plopped down beside him. "So?" He prompted, green eyes lit with excitement.
"I'm sorry - what?" Cedric said incredulously.
"Can we get a cat?" Harry repeated.
"Uhh… why?"
"Because!" Harry bounced on the couch, springing to his knees and crawling towards Cedric. "Cats are awesome, and cute, and sweet, and I want one!"
Cedric pushed him away playfully, putting one hand on either side of Harry's shoulders and pushing his face within an inch of Harry's. "Oh, I'm not cute or awesome or sweet enough? You don't want me?" He said with fake sadness.
Harry smirked. "Of course I do. But I want a cat, too."
"Well, Boy-Who-Lived, you can't always get what you want." Cedric retorted.
"Sure I can." Harry said, smiling a little. A meow sounded behind the two boys. Cedric's eyes went wide. "You didn't."
"Did."
"Harry James Potter!"
"Cedric-" Harry paused. "What's your middle name, anyway?"
"You don't know my middle name?"
"I would, if you'd tell me."
"It's Amos."
"Cedric Amos Diggory."
"Harry. A cat is a big responsibility!"
"So? I'm a big boy now. I'll take care of her."
"Her?"
"Yep! I was thinking we could name her Ghost, because she's pure white."
Cedric sighed. "Fiiiiine."
Harry grinned, "Yay!"
"But," Cedric continued, a small smile taking over his face. "If she stays, you have to do one thing." He paused.
"What?" Harry said impatiently, after a moment.
"Marry me."
To be continued…
