Chapter 9: Shockwave
And I try to crack this iceberg open.

Shockwave - Feint
Hayte and Ryu are finishing up with congratulations to each other as Hitomi makes her way to the entrance. She is dressed in her katategi with a black belt and forehead sash. She is there with her friend Leifag dressed in a white blouse, jeans, and boots.
"Here come the first round jitters," Hitomi says to her friend as they wait to make their entrance.
"Don't worry about it," Leifang says to her, placing a hand on her shoulder. "I'm sure you will do great."
Hitomi looks into the brown orbs staring back at her and her heart races. She swallows hard trying to calm herself. I can't take this, she thinks to herself. When I make it through this round, I have to tell her how I feel. "Thank you," she says playing with her belt.
Leifang turns from her friend and places her hands in her pockets. "I lost my first round fight, so I am counting on you for the both of us," she says. "So, no pressure."
I am under more pressure than you know, the black belt thinks as she makes her way to the entrance with her crush following behind.

Momiji is waiting in the ring as Hitomi and Leifang make their entrance. She notices how Hitomi is acting nervous around her Chinese friend. I think I found someone else I can help with love troubles, the maiden thinks with a smile.
Hitomi makes her way into the ring as the announcer comes on the intercom. "We are set to begin the last fight of the first round. Which of these two will be able to make it though?"
"Two more hotties getting it on." Jacky jokes to Hayate as he makes his way back up to the stands.
Hayate is interrupted as Zach chimes in. "Now you see my vision," he says with a wink.

Hitomi rushes in with a series of punches. I can't lose here, I need to make it through. She transitions and throws a kick to Momiji who is able to block it and return with a kick that sends her in the air and she lays down another kick that sends the black belt rolling backward. Hitomi is able to roll through and quickly pop up before coming back with a flying kick that Momiji is able to turn away.

"Who is winning?" Marie Rose asks beside Honoka as they take a seat next to Jacky. Both of them are covered in bruises and Marie Rose had a black lett eye. Marie Rose dressed in a white blouse and red miniskirt with black shoes. Honoka takes a seat beside her with a denim miniskirt with a green t-shirt, white stockings and black shoes. As they sit down Honoka takes a hold of Marie Rose's hand and leans into her girlfriend.
"My money is on Momiji at this point, but it could go either way." Hayate says turning to them after a second. "How are you two feeling?" He asks. "Those were some pretty good strikes you took."
"We will be fine," Marie Rose answers, smiling at her girlfriend . "The thing most hurt here is our pride."
"You missed some pretty good matchups," Hayate tells them. "This is already the last one of the first round."

Back in the ring Hitomi has just taken a high kick from Momiji sending her backward sliding across the ground. She takes a look at Leifang and makes a promise to herself that if (no, when) she claims this round, she will also try to claim Leifang's heart. She stands up and wipes a drop of blood from her lip.
"I need to win this for the both of us," she says standing up. She moves at Momiji with a series of punches and is unable to make contact. Let's see if she can keep up with my speed, she thinks as she lets out a fury of punches .
"Looks like we have a standoff," the announcer says. "Let's see who will be able to keep this up.
"Hitomi is extensive in her training," Leifang says. "She has prepared to be able to outlast this."
Both fighters exchange a series of blows and Hitomi notices Momiji start to slow down. Looks like all my training is paying off, she thinks. Time to finish this. When Momiji goes for a punch, Hitomi is able to block it and counter with a hard kick to the chest sending the maiden flying backward, across the ring and out onto the floor below.
"That is the end of the first round and your winner is Hitomi!" The announcer yells as Leifang climbs into the ring to congratulate her friend.
HItomi walks over to Momiji and helps her to her feet. "That was a great fight,'' she says to the maiden with a smile.
"Well you do have more motivation than I do," Momiji responds. And I think I can help with that. If your heart is as half as strong as your body. You have no problem following through with your feelings." She gives a smile to Hitomi. "Sometimes love can be found in the most wonderful places and wonderful people." She turns her head. "And speaking of wonderful people she says throwing a wink to Hitomi as she exits.
"That was really impressive," the chinese woman complomets as HItomi as she climbs inside the ring..
Hitomi flashes red and has to turn away from Leifang, who gives her a confused look. "Hey are you okay?" She asks. "You look nervous."
"I-I am fine, but we need to talk." Hitomi responds. "Can you meet me tomorrow night by that big tree to the west? I-It's really important"

Zach comes on the intercom with a big smile. "That concludes the first round of the tournament," he says. We will be having a break day in between each round so that the fighters will have the chance to recover and get in some training. The next day is yours to do with as you see fit, so make it count and I will see each of you the day after for the second round."
Oh, I intend to make it count, Hitomi thinks as she looks as she starts to zone out over her friend's body.
