Matthew 8: 13-27 + COVID19
Hello readers of the world, today feels different as much as this year. In fact if anyone would imagine it we all like things to be normal, but we have become scared of the COVID that is spreading around the world. It has made us turn to all sources other then our Lord Jesus Christ, for both believers and non-believers. Which is why today will be different from your normal Bible teachings. Over the year it has been rough for all of us, lives have been taken, families destroyed, workers are jobless, and many more worse news as the elections, disasters, and so on and so forth. While I can admit as American I cannot tell or know what everyone is going through in other countries, but I hope you know your still supported by others around you and those from another side of the world.
For many years we as humans have accumulate what many would desire, fame, riches, glory and so on. Yet when we die, all our possessions are rotting away and brought to dust on the ground we stand. This has caused many people that are both good and bad to became vain in our own glory. Before COVID, some of our lives have always been about how much achievement we made, our success in life and wealth, how we are making ground breaking works that either change or surpass our ancestors. Yet this year alone has not only brought us down, but has made us humble as our pride have been left unchecked. Yes I say we are prideful even with little to nothing in our pockets. Because all it took was something small that change our attitude and made us value our lives, sometimes to our worse traits of survival of the fittest in some parts of the world.
This year has been eye openers, one of them is how some believers and saints have preach about Jesus and Revelation more then ever. Even preaching that it will come to past soon, I encourage anyone that has bible in your possession or someone can allow you to borrow to read the book of Revelation at least once until the end. This year has also made us rely on things that only give little less hope for our futures. The cure for this COVID can be dangerous and how we need to be less fearful. The fact that we always pride ourselves as strong independent throughout our short lives, only to cower in fear when we are face with something that couldn't be reason or explained when our lives can be taken. For many Believers, Saints, and Christians alike I can only hope you don't give in to fear and allow this to control your actions, thoughts and the way you see things.
In Matthew 8 verse 13-22 we are given some details about how Jesus healed people and help others that are possessed by Devils in their bodies. But in Verse 23-27 is a short verse about how Jesus and the Disciples went on a boat to sail across, but in that time they encountered a storm. This storm was so bad they became fearful, it was so bad that while they were with Jesus and had seen many miracles, they still became fearful of what is happening and shouted, "Lord, save us! We are about to Die!" Yet Jesus told his Disciples, "Why are you fearful, you people of little faith?" Then just as Jesus stood the winds and seas are calmed. In that instant not only their own troubles are resolved, but Jesus showed that with him anything is possible and there is nothing to be fearful about.
Folks I say this with recent experience almost one year back, that when you try to control your situation or circumstance, you will never succeed. Granted there maybe times you can achieve things, but if only with small strength every one of us possess. With God on your side, you can achieve all things by his name and power. Folks this year we have turned to many things that are only temporarily for that moment, this COVID is one of those that we need God the most in our lives, yet even without this you cannot live without God in your life or in anything that doesn't involve God. Cause he's not only first, God is always your greatest provider in times of storms and times when it's good. Brothers and Sisters of the world, we cannot pretend that we are strong enough on our own, nor can those around us succeed in things that are impossible for them. God is the only one that can change our lives and led us through storms and challenges that will always find ways to break us, hurt us, throw us down, destroy us, kill us and every worse thing that can and can't be imagine.
We need to be united in our faith in Christ, faith where we need to encourage one another and continue to worship and serve our Lord Jesus no matter what we do or are doing in our public and personal times. Folks none of us are perfect and none of our are superman, but there is a God that doesn't want us to be superman nor expects perfection, instead desires our faith and surrender towards him, and through this given the strength to walk through all storms and challenges. Even when we have made mistake and are tested in places we are most vulnerable and weakest, God will always provide and will guide us through them towards our finish line. Folks I say things will all my heart that we cannot be watching on the stands in some football team. Cause when you are with God or for this world, there will only be two choices. We must be willing to seek our Lord first before anything the first thing in the morning. It is hard and I have that same issues too, but we must be willing to practice this before dawn and rely our lives and everything around us to be under his control. I hope that this message helps you and that your faith in God is increase by this current storm, be strong in our Lord and don't allow the Adversary to win. Cause the only one gaining victory and power is the Devil and his demons, they have been causing much storm in our lives and if we compare all of our lives as a battlefield, the Devil has been winning in most battles then we should allow it. Let the Lord take control and help you prevail by given courage and boldness in these times.
