When I have read fanfictions about people being thrown into the fabulous world of Naruto I realized that every single one of those people had a plan. Stop the Hyuuga stuff, help the Uchiha, stop the Uchiha, help Naruto, kill who-knows-who, etc.

I had no plans.

All I wanted was to try to help Kakashi with his depression, and Naruto to have friends, that was all. No plans in my book.

Besides that, I was ready to pursue my own goals, I wanted to be part of the Torture and Interrogation Force, and I wanted to marry and have children. Of course, I didn't want to mess with the future love pairs (Sasusaku, naruhina, etc.) so I had veeeery few choices. I mean there were people in Konoha, but I would not marry a civilian! Geez, those people were weird… (Saying it like a diva). Me and my unnatural priorities…

So, yeah, days, months went by, I kept training with my friends and I kept reading about psychological stuff, I re-read the book Kakashi suggested, everything seemed to be okay.

Then we turned seven and the Academy began.

I was overwhelmed by the sheer number of students standing in front of the Academy, the Hokage was giving a speech and we, the newbies, were given a special spot, the parents stood by the side and looked at us proudly. I instantly recognized some faces, Choji, Ino, Naruto, and then there were those from the anime, Hinata, Sasuke, Shino (man he was cute), Kiba and Sakura, but there were many more students in the first year. Heck. What the fuck happened to them in the anime?

After the introduction, a white-haired man shoved us (yep, he wasn't gentle) into our classroom. He told us to sit down and we did so, I sat next to Naruto, who sat next to Kiba. Shikamaru, Choji, and a civilian were sitting behind us, and Ino, Sakura, and Sasuke sat in the front.

"Alright, brats, the name's Mizuki." the door opened and a woman walked in, the woman had long, curly, black hair and wore glasses on her face, she wore a pink kimono and baggy red pants. "And this is Suzume." Mizuki pointed at the woman. "We will be your teachers since we are short on staff." he said the last part more to himself. "Now, I'll read your names, raise your hand when called and tell me your clan's name, and birth date." he began going through the list, but I didn't really pay attention. I kept remembering the episode with Mizuki, he being beaten by Naruto, Naruto graduating. But, well, where the heck was Iruka-sensei? Shouldn't he be the teacher in the class? He taught the Rookie 9, after all, where the fuck was Iruka? "Nara Shikamaru." he called and my brother rose his hand.

"Nara clan, September 22nd." Suzume wrote it down. Shouldn't they have already access to every information about us?

"Nara Shikanai." Mizuki called, so I rose my hand.

"Nara clan, obviously." I commented and Mizuki glared at me, well, I didn't give a fuck. "September 22nd."

"Same date?" Suzume asked looking up and I nodded.

"We're twins." Shikamaru added.

"Which one is the older?" she asked.

"Shikamaru, 2 minutes." I answered and she wrote it down. Why did they want to know though?

The day went by and after classes, we went home, well, Shikamaru decided to get the boys and go play soccer somewhere in the village. So, I ended up walking with Ino and Sakura. It was my first time interacting with Sakura and I was surprised. She was not at all like in the show. As we walked I saw Sasuke in front with his brother. Ohmygosh. Itachi. Fucking. Uchiha. The guy, who killed his clan in one night. The guy, who made Sasuke into a living mess. A bad mess. Heck. What do I do? What do I do?

Well, apparently nothing, it wasn't like I had a chance to just change everything, but hey, I froze and Ino took my hand leading us to the other way, the way which led us to her house.

Heck.

The massacre. It was going to happen when Sasuke was seven. But damn it! Sasuke was seven! Damn it! Damn it all! I had no chance to stop it, and I knew it. Damn it!

Ino noticed that I was not okay and she gave me homemade mochi. Well, that might help…

And the Massacre is slowly coming around. About the Academy, I picture it a little bit differently than in the show, with more civilian children, who just happen to give up the Academy as they grow older. Oh, about Iruka, it is shown in the anime that he joins the Academy later on, so that's how it's gonna be here as well.

I don't own Naruto.

Why doesn't Shikanai try to talk to Itachi? Well, I really don't think anyone would listen to a six-year-old kid, that happens to predict the future, plus that interaction would just give Danzo a sign, that maybe one Nara twin knows too much.

Have a nice read!

VaneM: Kakashi is my favorite too, but I think that's obvious, from the fact that Shikanai loves him too. Thanks for the support and I'm really glad that you like the story 😊
