After more minutes of suffering and leading to no thief girl, it's probably time for Rem to make an action, she can't just wander around and hope for a miracle to come. She kindly asks the two to temporarily stop the search and make them follow her.
They didn't know why but they did so anyways since she was the one closest to see the girl after all. But what they didn't know is Rem has something on her sleeve. She knows exactly where she can get information that these two can hear without her opening her own mouth.
Where Rem finally arrived at the location where she first stopped by, and this is where the first person she talked to in this strange fantasy world.
The appa guy!
"Uh, Rem. What are we exactly doing here in front of this man's business?" Subaru asked as he still looks around rooftops and around them to make sure they're not any little girls stealing from them again.
Rem simply nods as she turns to the appa guy who looks like he definitely did not miss her.
"Uhh, hello again mister!" Rem greeted with a friendly smile.
"Uhh, how are you...mister?"
"If you're here to beg for another apple then you're out of luck, lady."
"W-what??" Rem got confused for a second but did remember now that she did accept this guy's offer for the apple. She blushes at the embarrassment but she shakes her head and corrects him for her presence. "I'm not here to beg for another appa! I swear! B-but I do have some questions!"
"You're quite an interesting girl. Asking a man with a random business, who you got something out of, and now you want me to answer some questions? Hmp, what do you take me for, lady? I ain't cheap!"
Rem forgot that this man isn't going to take things lightly, but she thought of an idea when she looked at Subaru and Lia just now.
Both of them look like very rich people, like from a castle or something!
"Uh- oh" Rem stumbled in words but she managed to get the pieces right. "Uh yes! I knew that sir! So that is why I offer two very rich customers for you! They're sure to buy something!" Rem turns to the both of them. "Right??"
Both were silent, and Lia was first to respond. "Uhm, I'm sorry Remura, but I don't have any money with me." Subaru, he can see what Rem is trying to do. But since she has done something to this man to make him irritated with her presence, he won't spill out some information that Rem might suspect he has, but alas he is also poor as of the moment. And seeing that Lia is here he will not result to violence.
"Same." Subaru finally responded. "I didn't bring anything with me but my two sharp swords that can slice off heads in one swing."
But tried it anyways with intimidation.
It did not work.
Rem, utterly shocked turns to the appa guy where she sees a disappointed and irritated face. Rem just wipes her sweat with her jacket that she's wearing as she looks at the guy once more.
"Uh… hahaha… uhm…" There is nothing left Rem could say as she is out of ideas. She tried making an excuse but the man immediately shouted for the three of them to get out of his sight and business!
Not until some unexpected people have arrived.
"Mister!!" A small cute voice calls someone out, a familiar once to be exact! They looked, and were surprised to see some familiar faces. It's the little green haired girl that got lost, with her mother!
Subaru waves at them.
The mom was still grateful for the kind actions Lia and Subaru did, so she could do nothing else rather than thank them again.
"Thank you for your help just now."
"Oh it's nothing to worry about. Just doing my job!" Subaru said with confidence but just realized something after it. "Wait a minute, why are you guys here?"
The mother points at the stall, where the appa guy is.
"This is my husband's stall, we were just passing by."
The apple guy looks at Subaru, Subaru looks at Lia, and Rem looks at the appa guy's hair and the little girl's hair.
"Ohh!" Realizing it, it all makes a little sense now!
The appa guy's daughter rushed to her own papa as she gave him a warm hug, the appa guy simply pats her daughters head, but he still has some confusion that needs to be answered.
He looks at his wife if she knows anything, and why does it look like she has met these three before.
"How do you know these three paupers?" He asked
The wife simply smiled and said- "Well, our daughter got lost and luckily they were there and they helped me find her."
The appa guy looked at the trio with a slightly shocked expression as the little green haired girl looked at Lia and approached her.
She pulls something from her own tiny pocket and brings it out, giving it to Lia.
"Here! Take it!"
"E-eh?" Lia suddenly got an offering?
She looks at what the girl is trying to give and it's a red flower that has a clip on it. Basically a clipper.
"Please accept it. She wants to use her way to thank the three of you." The wife said as she walked close to her dear husband who was still baffled by what her wife said.
Lia just smiles as she gently takes the red flower clip from the girls hands. "Thank you..."
She looks at it but then decides to look at Rem, who seems to be looking in her smartphone. She seems like she's letting this some sort of cutscene play out.
Without a doubt, Lia then puts it on her at the right side near her ear.
Rem notices as she blushes in the process. "M-Miss Lia??"
She looked at her and was about to say something but was shut down by Lia's soft thoughtful and thankful words. "You can have it, Remura. You were the one that found her first so you deserve it, more than I do."
Rem looks at the girl and the girl smiles at Rem.
Rem just smiles as well, hiding her red face still.
Subaru wonders why Lia just did that, but he's not against it or anything. This just shows how amazing of a person Lia really is...
The apple guy clears his throat and the three of them look at him.
"Sorry about earlier."
He grins as he puts his hands on her wife's shoulder.
"I ACTUALLY want to pay you back for your help."
He looks at them.
"You have some questions right? Ask what you like, but I'm not giving any more apples."
"I-is this fate?? An opportunity??" Rem said inside her head. She just breathes in and just jumps up with her fist up in the air as she shouts out something strange, but it goes along with something like- "Fantastica!"
Rem almost fell once she landed, but she keeps her stand. She just laughs nervously.
Subaru doesn't really find this any-
Lia giggles at Rem's clumsiness. Seeing this, Subaru changes his mind and decides, maybe Rem isn't that bad of a person, and is not after Lia after all.
