Hope you enjoy it! Again I own nothing, if I did I wouldn't be constantly looking for new jobs to pay for shit.
**Recap**
Jade was dealing with a lot of emotions concerning Beth and her sister Max. Jade revealed some home truths to Beth about the fact that they don't know each other as well as they did before.
"No, Liz," I whisper, "I think it is best if you leave." I walk away, heading up the stairs, I see out the corner of my eye that both my mom and sister had heard everything. I sigh and shake my head, heading into the games room, slamming the door and throwing myself onto the sofa in there.
Beth POV
After seeing Jade that upset with me, I left the west house and decided to go home, I needed my mom to look at my hand, thanks to Max slamming the door on it. Turned out I didn't need that much done, it was only badly bruised, which I was thankful for.
It was now time for the family barbecue though. I had, once again, pulled my wavy blonde hair into a messy bun, strand falling in front of my face. I pulled on skinny black jeans with rips in the knees, a grey jumper and my leather jacket with some black flats that tie around my ankles.
I had no idea what was going to happen at this barbecue but I could feel in my fingers that something bad was going to happen. It all started with Quinn, she tried to tell me something all morning but instead of what she wanted to tell me she just smiled and told me i looked pretty. Now I am all for compliments but this happen about 40 times in the space of an hour. In the end, I might have lost my head and told her to sort herself out and when she grew some balls to tell me exactly what she wanted to tell me, if she didn't then not to talk to me at all.
Jade being upset with me, got to me more than I obviously want to admit. She has always got a huge space in my heart, she liked me, for me, before I grew boobs and got prettier, though that was with help from her sister.
Oh god and Max, I don't know what it is about the West woman but they have to be my kryptonite. Max West, 19 years old, my first everything apart from kiss. This whole thing is going to be messier than I would like.
I walk down the stairs to see my mother, sister, brother in law and my niece. She was the light of my life, only 4 years old and has me wrapped around her little finger.
"Lili," Magdalena shouts, lifting her arms up.
I bend down and scoop her into my arms, "My little Maggie. How are you cutie?" I ask, hugging her tight.
I feel her arms go around my neck, strangling me slightly, "Me good, missed you though, Lili."
"Aww, I missed you too." I whisper.
My mom touched my arm, nodding her head toward the door, "Come on you two, we got to go next door for the party."
We all walk through the front door and to next door, my mom knocks the door before opening in it. "Claire," She shouts, "We're here."
"Soph, we are outside in the garden." I hear Claire shout back.
We all walk through the house and out the back door, I look around to see Beck and Andre by the grill, starting it up, Robbie and Cat sat with Claire at the table, Jade and Tori sitting on a bench under a massive tree and Max, lounging on a sun bed by the pool, while Jake was lurking behind her with a water pistol.
"Claire, you have a lovely garden." Mom said, anything else that she was going to say was drowned out by Max screaming as Jake hit with the water pistol, I hear Jade and Tori laughing by the tree.
I roll my eyes as I watched Max run after Jake, I hitch Maggie higher on my hip as I walked closer to Cat and Robbie, "Mi hija, these are my friends Cat and Robbie. Do you want to say hello?" I ask.
"Oh she is adorable, what's her name?" Cat asked.
"Magdalena, but we call her Maggie." I reply, "Come on Mags, say hi to Cat." I try to get her to lift her head but she buried it more into my neck, "I don't know why she is so shy."
**7pm - That Night**
"Okay guys, we have some entertainment for you now, some of us are going to be singing for you." Jade called out to everyone in the garden.
I look to Santana, she arrived 5-10 minutes after my family with her mom, Quinn and Brittany, now that was fun to see, Jade reacting to Quinn being in her house. Can you detect my sarcasm? Any way, I look to Santana who smirks at me, probably wanting to sing with her, I look back at Jade and see that she is the first sing.
I lean forward in my seat, ready to here the more mature voice of Jade West.
"So this song is for a certain someone, who is too pig headed to know exactly what they want." Jade said, while she was getting ready to sing.
I look down to my hands, knowing the song was about me. I feel someone sit next to me, I look and see its Quinn, she leans in and whispers, "Beth, I really need to talk to you about something."
I open my mouth to say something when the music started and I see Jade sucking at her teeth with attitude.
The minute Jade opens her mouth to sing, I am floored, she sounded amazing.
Are you listening?
Hear me talk, hear me sing
Open up the door
Is it less? Is it more?
When you tell me to beware
Are you here? Are you there?
Is it something I should know?
Easy come, easy go
Nodding your head, don't hear a word I said
I can't communicate
When you wait, don't relate
I try to talk to you, but you never even knew
So, what's it gonna be?
Tell me, can you hear me?
I'm so sick of it, your attention deficit
Never listen, you never listen
I'm so sick of it, so I'll throw another fit
Never listen, you never listen
I scream your name, it always stays the same
I scream and shout
So what I'm gonna do now is freak the freak out (Hey)
Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa-oh
Patience running thin
Running thin, come again
Tell me what I get, opposite, opposite
Show me what is real
If it breaks, does it heal?
Open up your ear
Why you think that I'm here?
Keep me in the dark, are you even thinking of me?
Is someone else above me? Gotta know, gotta know
What am I gonna do? 'Cause I can't get through to you
So, what's it gonna be? Tell me, can you hear me?
(Can you hear me?)
I'm so sick of it, your attention deficit
Never listen, never listen
I'm so sick of it, so I'll throw another fit
Never listen, never listen
I scream your name, it always stays the same
I scream and shout
So what I'm gonna do now is freak the freak out (Hey)
Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa-oh
Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa-oh
Easy come, easy go (Hey)
Easy come, easy go
(Can you hear me?)
At the tempo change, I could se she was singing her heart out. All I could do was watch her, I feel Santana grab a hold of my hand squeezing it.
I scream your name, it always stays the same
I scream and shout
So what I'm gonna do now is freak the freak out (Hey)
Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa-oh
Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa-oh
I stand up from my seat and make my way to the pale beauty singing before everyone. As I get closer, I see her eyes getting wider.
I scream your name
But you never listen
I stand before her and grab her hand.
No, you never listen
But you never listen
When she finishes her note, I pull her hand towards me, making her brace herself against my chest. I tilt my head down to look into her eyes, I see her lick her lips. I am about to kiss her when I whisper, "Bet you never guessed this would happen." I place my lips on hers, making her gasp, her hand grabbing my sweatshirt, pulling me closer as she deepens the kiss. I take my hands and place them on her back, slowly going lower, until we both get interrupted, once again.
"It's like I always say, if you like a girl, you should just grab her and kiss her." Max yelled out. "it worked for me the first time."
I glare at Max, tightly smiling, "Thank you, Max." I say through gritted teeth, I see Jade just stare at me wide eyed.
"Aye, Sophia, your daughter is defiling my daughter." Claire shouted, laughing.
"I think they have been defiling each other longer than just tonight." I hear Tori, once again, stage whisper to Andre.
Jade turned to her mom and smiled the biggest smile I ever did see. "Mom, I have something to tell you."
Claire walked towards us, arms out wide, smiling, "And I wonder what that could be? Welcome to the family Beth."
I held my hands in front of me, shaking my head, "Whoa, wait a minute, all we did is kiss and you're all acting like we about get to get married."
"Lizzie?" Jade questioned, looking at me dejected, pushing me away, "You know what? I don't care."
