Chapter 10

A couple of months have passed. Rin and Sesshomaru's relationship is in full swing. She officially moved in the week prior. They have been happy in life thus far and the puppy has been getting bigger every week. They are hosting Inuyasha and Kagome for dinner later in the evening. They decided to go food shopping together so that the tedious task could be completed in half of the time. "What do you think about me making my lasagna recipe tonight:?" Rin asked as they walked down the pasta aisle.

"That sounds like a perfect idea to me. That way it is filling, but we do not need to worry about cooking meat and a side dish." He smiled at her as he pushed the cart. "Do you see the brand of noodles that you usually buy?" He questioned. She was walking a few paces ahead of the carriage, looking at the boxes.

"No, I don't see it." She continued to search. "Found it!" She exclaimed as she tossed the box of long, flat noodles in the cart. "Now.." She turned around. "For the sauce." She grabbed two jars of her favorite sauce and a bottle of grated parmesan cheese. "All we need is the ground beef and ricotta cheese." They continued throughout the store, collecting the remaining ingredients. Rin continued to think about the recipe and how she was going to make it, checking the cart multiple times to make sure that she had everything that she needed.

"Are we ready to check out? We have already walked about five laps around the store." He asked since he was bored of walking down every aisle.

"Yes! We should be all set!" She said as she grabbed the front of the cart and pulled it, and her boyfriend, to the checkout lines, opting for a self-checkout. They finished paying and headed to the car, loading their groceries. Once home, they brought all of the bags upstairs and placed them on the kitchen counters. Sesshomaru started to put them away as Rin ran to the bathroom. He was almost done by the time she returned a few minutes later. She walked back into the kitchen to find him washing the dishes that had been left from the night before. A small smirk appeared on her lips as she had an idea. She walked up behind him and wrapped her arms around his waist, resting her cheek on his back. He jumped slightly at her touch. He had been lost in his thoughts as he finished the dishes. He dried his hand with the towel hanging next to him before resting his hands on hers. He attempted to remove them but was met with resistance.

"Just let me stay like this a little longer." She requested softly. He sighed and closed his eyes, a smile forming on his lips as he relaxed in her arms. His eyes shot back open when he felt her hand creep lower and unfasten his belt. She then unbuttoned his pants before sliding her hand into his pants, gripping his manhood through his boxer briefs.

"Rin, we have to start cooking. They are going to be here in the next hour. You should sto.." He stammered, her hand stroking him to attention.

"Ssshhhhhhhh….. We still have some time." She declared as his breathing quickened. After a few more strokes, she let go of his. Frustrated by her sudden withdrawal, he turned around to find her now on her knees in front of him. She quickly pushed his pants down along with his underwear. "I only need a few minutes." She had just finished wiping her mouth when she felt him grab her around her waist and lifted her up until she was sitting on the island, with him standing between her legs. His lips captured hers. Rin couldn't explain it but she felt as though his aura shifted, becoming more intense. Lowering himself to his own knees, he slid off her leggings and panties. "That.. would be.. A.. good idea." She replied between breaths. He picked up her discarded clothing, handing it back to her. She smiled and took them from him. "Thank you, babe." She jumped off of the island and quickly put her panties and then leggings back on as he did the same with his clothes. After washing their hands and wiping down the counters, they started preparing the food.

30 minutes later, the assembled lasagna entered the oven. She set a timer on her phone for 45 minutes. "I'm gonna change and brush my teeth." She said as she made her way to the bedroom. He decided to go to the bathroom to brush his own teeth as she changed, switching rooms with her when she was done. A few minutes later, they heard the doorbell. He grabbed his phone, seeing his brother's face on camera.

"Open the door!" Inuyasha yelled. Sesshomaru scoffed and pressed a button, releasing the door before putting his phone into his pocket.

"They are here. We should expect a knock in a minute." He called out to her as he walked down the hallway, back into the kitchen. He checked the lasagna. It was definitely cooking but nowhere near done yet. She emerged from the bathroom wearing a cute maroon blouse that showed her ample cleavage and some dark wash skinny jeans. On her feet where some black heeled booties. There was a knock at the door.

"I'll get it!" She explained, running over to the door. She opened it to find her best friend and her man. "Kagome!" She gave the other woman a hug before letting them into the apartment. Inuyasha was barely able to get over the threshold before the white pitbull was jumping up on him. He squatted down to get closer to her. He was surprised when she immediately rolled over and showed him her belly.

"I think your dog likes me." He laughed as he rubbed her stomach, giving her all the attention she asked for. Once Tsuki felt satisfied and left him alone, Inuyasha gave Rin a hug before walking over to his brother who was now sitting on the couch. He found a spot next to him. Rin led Kagome over to the island that her bf pleased her on no more than an hour before and they took seats.

Several minutes later, the timer went off and the lasagna was finished. Kagome and Inuyasha helped set the table as they waited for the pasta to cool down. Once they were finished, Sesshomaru set the dish on the table, Rin followed him with a bottle of white wine. Rin poured them all a glass as he served them.

Kagome and Rin took turns telling stories from their days in college together as they ate. Sesshomaru was happy seeing how delighted his girlfriend was when she was with her best friend. When they were finished eating, Rin rinsed the dishes and loaded them into the dishwasher as Sessh packed up the remaining lasagna and placed it in the fridge. They then decided that they would split up, the men staying in the kitchen while the women retreated to the balcony in the bedroom. Kagome was the first to speak when they were settled on the lounge chairs outside with cups of coffee. "You look really happy, Rin. I haven't seen you this happy since college." She moved a loose piece of Rin's hair behind her ear.

"I am really happy. I know we moved pretty fast by having me move in only after 3 months, but I feel in my bones that it was the right decision. Things seem to have been progressing pretty naturally." She beamed at her friend. "You and Inuyasha seem to be pretty happy yourselves." She said, taking a sip.

"We really are. There is never a dull moment in our relationship. He is such a clown in a good way. I always find myself laughing whenever I'm with him." Kagome replied. "How far have y'all gone? Still holding out?" She asked, raising an eyebrow.

A warm blush crept onto Rin's face as she thought about their excursion earlier in the evening. "We still haven't gone all the way, but we are pretty close. I love that he is letting me set the pace and not pressuring me to go further. I definitely feel that it will happen pretty soon. I've been having a hard time keeping my hand to myself." She admitted.

"We had sex on our like third date." Kagome confessed. "I wanted to go longer but he is just too damn hot!" She laughed as she finished her cup. "Want to be a doll and grab us some more coffee?" Rin nodded and grabbed the cups before making her way to the kitchen quietly. She stopped before reaching the end of the hallway.

"You know you have to tell her eventually. If your feelings are becoming as serious as you say, she has to know." She heard Inuyasha say.

"Do not lecture me. You have not told Kagome either. Besides, it is easier for you to tell her than it is for me. You are only a half demon. That pill is much easier to swallow than learning that your partner is a full fledged dog demon." Sesshomaru spat back at his brother. Rin could not believe what she was hearing.

She thought to herself. She made it a point to walk loudly into the kitchen, pretending that she did not hear a word they said. She noticed that they both jumped when she entered the room.

"Rin!" Inyasha yelled. "What are you doing out here?" He asked nervously. She raised the empty coffee mugs.

"We ran out of coffee." She replied as she prepared two more cups for her and her best friend, trying as hard as she could to keep her cool. She did not want to arouse any suspicion while her friend and Inuyasha were still in the house. She finished quickly and returned to the balcony.

"What happened? Why do you look like you've seen a ghost?" Kagome asked as Rin handed her her mug.

Rin laughed it off. "Nothing happened. I'm just getting really tired." To her relief, her friend let it go. Her thoughts drifted to all of the somewhat weird things that she had noticed about Sesshomaru over the past few months, replaying the situations in her head.. About an hour later, Inuyasha and Kagome left. Rin put the mugs in the sink before plopping herself down on the couch where the silver haired man was sitting, having started watching a documentary about the economy. She grabbed the remote and paused it. He looked over at her.

"What is it? Why are you looking at me with that face?" He questioned the distressed look on her face. She looked down at her hands in her lap and gulped. She knew she had to do this now. She raised her head and looked him in the eyes.

"Sesshomaru… I think we need to talk."
