It's been a while, but here's the next chapter..Hope you enjoy!
Kaname and Zero stood in the small room neither taking the initiative to start a conversation. Kaname leaned against the wooden door and continued staring at Zero whose total attention was directed at the light bulb hanging off the roof. The prolonged silence and Kaname's continuous gaze on him was making it nearly impossible for Zero to keep his calm.
"Why the hell did you come here? Couldn't wait until I transfer to your disgusting dorm to talk over matters, Kuran?" Zero finally questioned the still brunette, unable to tolerate the uncomfortable silence.
"Well it did not seem as if you were joining us at the night dorms tomorrow or if I must add ever" Kaname spoke with his usual expressionless face making it impossible for Zero to point out whether he was angry or just mocking him. He took his gaze from the roof and fixed it on the floor instead.
"I don't think you were giving your gun to Cross just because it is against the rules of the moon dorm to keep your weapon with you, Kiryu. I was thinking of confiscating it myself but I do not think that would be needed"
"Like hell I'd give Bloody Rose to the likes of you. I'd rather destroy it with my own hands!" Zero spat the words in anger earning another uncomfortable glare from Kaname.
"Kiryu, do you think what you were about to persuade Cross into doing would have been accepted?"
"What the hell are you talking about?" Zero voiced both in irritation and confusion.
"Do you think getting yourself killed would be accepted?" Kaname's voice suddenly lowered a few notes and his aura turned darker.
"I don't know and I don't care. I feel that at least I have the right to choose that much for myself" Zero took a step towards Kaname.
"Right? Your choice of words is rather humorous, Kiryu" Kaname voiced through the corners of his lips while smiling politely at Zero as if he was one of his fangirls who was trying her best to gain his attention.
At first glance, it really seemed as if Kaname was actually praising him, but Zero knew better. It would take a million years for the bastard to smile genuinely. This smile though, was an attempt to irritate and mock him.
"Excuse me, I was not trying to joke around with you." Zero replied back with his usual cold tone reserved for the night class.
Kaname's polite smile vanished as soon as Zero commented and in a few swift movements he was right infront of the silverette.
Zero, who suddenly found himself trapped by the pureblood could do nothing except glare at the brunette vampire who had him cornered. Their bodies were slightly touching each other and Zero found himself utterly helpless.
"You seem to have totally forgotten your place inside the academy, don't you Kiryu? I wouldn't mind reminding you though, because that was the reason for my visit in the first place.." Kaname's voice was barely a whisper, but Zero had no problem comprehending the meaning thanks to his sharp senses, but what worried him was what was going to come next.
"Get away from me, Kuran" Zero cried, but Kaname took no heed of his protests.
" I think you know that you are in no position to give me orders right now. You better stop daydreaming of free will and independent choices. You neither have the choice to decide how long you live nor do you have the freedom to decide when you die. I bet you were ready to let go of your freedom in exchange for Yuki's blood anyway"
Kaname noticed how the silverette's features tensed and the gloom that fell over his face at the mention of Yuki. It seemed as if the boy was on the verge of crying. For a split second seeing Zero's teary eyes made the brunette want to take back his words, but he suppressed his guilt by recollecting how Yuki had collapsed onto the ground after being fully drained of blood just a few hours back.
'he of all people does not deserve any sympathy. Not after what he did to Yuki.'
Even though the brunette's mind was trying it's very to recollect all the hatred it had held for the silverette just a few seconds back, he could not help feeling guilty for making the hunter show such a reaction. Zero's tear filled eyes had caught him completely off guard and Kaname felt the out of place urge to comfort the silverette although it was he who had brought about the depressed look in the usually strong willed hunter. Kaname suppressed his urge to hug Zero and instead took a few steps back creating a distance between him and Zero once more.
"If you understand what position you are in in this whole affair, join the night class without any objections. If not, I will have to make you oblige by force." Kaname said while directing his mind back towards ordering Zero.
All he got as response was a barely visible nod from the silverette who continued to face the floor in dejection.
Kaname walked out of the room after a few minutes of staring at Zero. The boy would definitely join the night class. He had made sure of it tonight.
Zero continued gazing at the floor as a single tear rolled down his cheek. He wiped it off with the sleeve of his shirt before it could hit hit the floor. His legs carried him to his closet out of their own accord and in a few moments he was lying on the bed with his bag of belongings which held very few items in it.
'Great! I have to live under the same roof as those blood sucking bastards starting tomorrow! Just..just great!'
