Jack was floating high above a scene he'd recognize anywhere. He was helpless, he could only watch as Luzon Strait replayed itself again for him. But this time, it was different, something was different. As he watched for what had to be the 1,000th time, he finally reached the scene where he couldn't bear to watch, but at the same time, he was compelled to watch. But before it could play itself, everything faded into black.

"You dumb shit." A voice came out of the dark

"Who's there?!" he called to it, the voice, it was familiar

"Give me a break with the heroism already. What are you fighting for?"

"Answer me!" Jack shouted back

Finally, he heard footsteps from behind him. He whirled around and saw a man with a scarf wrapped around the lower half of his face. A sword was draped diagonally across his back, a bow was slung in the opposite direction, the string crossing his chest.

"W-who are you?" Jack stuttered, but he already knew

"Don't play dumb. You know who I am." He sneered

"You-You're me?" He said shocked.

"I've always existed. I'm the part you shove down. I'm the black part of you. The darkness."

"..." He was silent.

"Now, what are you fighting for?"

"..." Jack couldn't respond

"No. Don't answer, I will tell you. You're fighting because you think we actually owe something to the world. News Flash: We don't owe them shit. We lost Amagi, we paid the price. We did our sacrifice, it's time to reap the rewards. Let's leave this behind. Go somewhere like the Switzer Councilate."

Jack looked down, 'Is he right... am I just here because I think I owe them something for Amagi?'

"Think! You have a family back home! A brother and father! How do you think they feel?"

Jack said nothing,

"You're siding with people who attacked a harbor full of innocent people. People who've allied themself with the Sirens."

Jack looked down,

"You. Shouldn't. Be. Here."

He nodded, "What am I doing." The more he thought, the more he realized that it'd all been an illusion. He didn't need to stay here,

"Orochi is messing with your head."

The name caused him to jerk up

"What do you know about Orochi?" Jack asked

The doppelganger laughed, "Orochi has drawn you to it, it's acting through you nitwit. You'd never lay a finger on Enterprise, or any other Azur Lane member, in your right mind. I only got free thanks to the fact the Azur Lane stole it"

"Why am I so drawn?" He asked

"Because-"

Jack woke with a start. 'What? Why did I wake up now?!'

Outside

"Seesh, stupid Alpha. Getting me to do her dirty work. 'If he knows too much he'll become harder to control' as if I care." She yawned and opened a portal. "I guess I'll be seeing you again very soon Jackie boy." She jumped in the portal and warped.

Jack looked out the window. He thought about it for a moment. Then decided, "I have to get out of here."

Tokio Docks

Jack sighed, 'I'll miss this place.' He admitted

"Carrier Battleship Ise-"

"(You're going back?)" A voice behind him asked, Jack nearly jumped out of his skin. Behind him was Nagato.

"(Yes.)" He said honestly, without turning around

"(I see...)"

"(I'm guessing don't need to explain why.)"

Nagato shook her head,

"(I won't tell them anything. I'll say I was under Orochi's control, and when it left Sakura it took my memories with it. All I knew is that I had to get back to the E.U.)"

"(Thank you.)" Nagato nodded, satisfied she didn't need to stop him.

"Carrier Battleship Ise Activate!"

A flash of light illuminated the harbor, and Jack stood in a full Kansen suit, as he turned to sail away Nagato called to him.

"(Jack!)" Nagato said

"(Yes?)"

"(What will I tell the 1st Carrier Division?)" She asked

"(Tell them... I've fulfilled my debt. And I'm back where I belong.)"

As he steamed away from Sakura, Nagato looked on.

"(You're a good soldier. Godspeed Jack Sallis.)"

Pearl Harbor, about 2 weeks later

Enterprise stood at one of the cliffs of Pearl Harbor. She looked out to sea, staring at something only she could see.

"You're worried about him?" Belfast walked up behind her

"Something is wrong. He was... off. Not himself." She struggled to explain it.

"This could maybe as well linked to Orochi you know." Belfast suggested

"That means we have to retrieve him." Enterprise replied

"If we are ever to resolve the mystery of that cube... yes. We will need to retrieve him."

"We don't need to." Prince of Wales pulled up in a car. "He came to us."

Pearl Harbor Internment

"You swear you don't remember anything past December 8th to 2 weeks ago."

"Positive. Jack shit." He chuckled at his own humor,

"I'd tell you to get out but this is a military investigation." The inspector said in joking response.

A knock on the door, Belfast and Enteprise walked in. "Thank you Lt. Jameson. We will take it from here."

"You girls can try. But I got everything I could. I even beat him up a little."

Jack pretended to groan in pain.

Belfast curtsied. "Thank you, Jameson. But please, leave."

Jameson bowed and left the room and gave Jack the thumbs up.

"You always were a charmer," Belfast said.

"One of my many talents," Jack said wittily

Enterprise stood in the corner silently.

"Still the workaholic Enterprise? Slowly killing yourself in the name of Freedom?"

Belfast sighed, "She's improving. I've gotten her to eat real meals at least."

"Is that true?! The oh-so-selfless-Enterprise devoting time to eat?!" Jack said with hints of patronization.

Enterprise blushed and lowered her cap.

"I see you're back to normal."

"And feel like shit."

"Indeed, very much normal."

"I guess you're here to interrogate me so let's get this over with. I don't remember anything between December 8th to about 2 weeks ago. My guess, Orochi had some kind of hold on me and acted out through me."

"And your unexplained transformation into a Kansen."

"No clue how that happened. But I love it."

"And do you know how you broke Enterprise's bow."

'Oops. Sorry.' Jack thought.

"What?!" Jack pretended, shocked.

"Mhm. But Enterprise beat you, badly." Belfast

"Oh..." Jack said, "Sorry about that then."

"Hmmm." Belfast knew there was nothing she could get out of him.

"Well, I guess that's it also." Belfast tossed him a U.S Commanders' uniform, "Get dressed out of that Kimono, we can't have you running around looking like a Sakurese citizen."

"Unfortunately he won't be running around at all."
