¨They say it´s not the destination, it's the journey. Sometimes it can be both¨ - Alaska

(AN: I feel like I used this quote already, maybe I'm hallucinating. Oh well)

Edmund´s search had come up empty. He spent day and night searching everything, asking around. He kept calm like usual, at this point he was in a clear state of mind. He had finally decided the perfect punishment for Ceslitt, he was to rot away in a jail cell, for death was too good for him. But first he had to be found, this was proving extremely difficult, no one knew him, it was as if he didn't exist at all.

¨Your Majesty, you need to rest.¨ said Don, an officer he brought

¨I suppose you´re right, thank you¨

He dismounted his horse and entered the carriage that was brought along. He and his force were on the way back and Edmund tried his best to sleep. It was very late when they returned. The troops went to their homes and the guards went to bed. His siblings were already sleeping when he walked in. The candles were dying out and that only added the Edmund´s fatigue. He stumbled up the stairs half awake and counted the number of doors he passed. When he entered his room he fell on the bed and slept.

¨Do you think we should wake him?¨ Susan asked

¨We can try, but the guards said he didn't sleep much¨ Peter replied

¨Well we can wait¨ said Lucy

¨Should we at least see if Fleurine is awake?¨ Susan asked

¨I don't see why not¨ Peter said.

They all made their way over to the room Fleurine was staying in, it was slightly open. They peeked their heads in the room and saw no one.

¨Where did she go?¨ asked Lucy

¨I don´t know, maybe we could split up an-¨

Peter was interrupted by Fleurine walking up the stairs with books in her hands.

¨Good morning, what are you all doing here?¨ She asked

¨We were just coming to see if you were up¨ Susan answered

¨We have news!¨ Lucy exclaimed

¨Wait, is he back?¨ She said excitedly.

¨Yes but he's probably going to be asleep for a while, the guards said he barely slept for the trip¨

Fleurine nodded her head, after setting the books down she joined them for breakfast. To pass the time they talked about foreign news and told stories. After relocating multiple times they were all sitting in the main living room. It was a little before sunset when Edmund woke up, he took a much needed bath and made his way downstairs. He headed into the living room and his eyes lit up when he saw Fleurine. She sat up quickly and ran over to hug him, he held her tightly in his arms and didn't let her go for a while. After they split he hugged his siblings and they all sat back down. He couldn´t resist a chance to tease everyone there

¨Fleurine did you let my sisters dress you?¨ He said as he looked at the new dress she had on.

¨What do you mean?¨ she asked

¨You all look ridiculous¨ he said laughing.

Peter laughed with him and Susan was out for revenge

¨We look ridiculous? Says the man that refused to wear shirts for two months.¨ She said to Edmund

Fleurine couldn't help but burst into laughter

¨Why is that so funny?¨ he asked smiling

¨Whatever do you mean?¨ she said

¨You know exactly what I mean, you´re gonna pay for that¨ he said while tickling her

She couldn't even argue since she was laughing so hard, and so was everyone else.

After finally settling down they talked about his search.

¨So, Edmund. How was your search¨ asked Peter

¨Not good, he's a ghost¨ he sighed

¨I'm sure he´ll be found eventually¨ said Lucy

¨We shall see¨ Edmund replied.

Fleurine grabbed his hand to comfort him.

¨I should be getting to bed¨ Said Lucy

¨I agree¨ Susan said

¨As do I, this has been fun and quite exhausting¨ Peter said.

They left and now it was just Edmund and Fleurine sitting next to each other, hand in hand.

¨That was fun¨ Fleurine said

Edmund chuckled a bit.

¨You seem better¨ he said

¨I feel better, but I'm still not better¨

He gave her a reassuring smile

¨I know exactly how you feel. It's been three years since I betrayed Aslan and I'm still not better¨

¨Edmund, you were only a child. And everyone says those candies were addicting¨

He shook his head, ¨It doesn't matter, I ate them with my own will, I went after her with my own will¨

¨Edmund¨ she turned his head to look at her

They were both broken in their own way, but it did not stop them from tending to each other's wounds. Edmund met her eyes but kept looking towards her lips. He brought his hand to cup her cheek and they kissed. It was deep and needy from both ends, and each new kiss was more passionate than the one before. He shifted his position to bring her closer to him, and began to kiss her neck. Her hands were wrapped around him, and their bodies were tightly pressed. He returned to her lips and was surprised when she bit his bottom lip lightly.

He pulled away ¨Feeling needy are we?¨

¨Why are you talking about yourself?¨ she asked gesturing down

He chuckled but then pulled away ¨What am I doing?¨

¨What do you mean?¨

¨You almost got raped a month ago and I'm sitting here making out with you¨

(AN: Edmund Pevensie - King of Consent)

She was confused ¨oh, do you not want to kiss me?¨

¨I do, very much but... I don't want to make you think about what happened. This is the last thing you need right now¨

She didn't say anything, she just let him continue.

¨There's no way you should make a decision like this with your state of mind.¨

¨I suppose you´re right.¨ she sighed ¨I have felt very different.¨

Edmund stretched out on the couch and brought her close to him. She rested her head on his chest, and he wrapped his arms around her.

¨I hope you´re not upset with me¨ he said

¨Why would I be upset with you?¨

¨I´m not making any sense. I'm trying to do what's best for you, but look what I wanted to do just now.¨

She brought her head up to kiss him lightly.

¨Let's hope that in time it will be the best for us¨

Us, the word lingered in his head. He would love for them to be an us and a we. But that would have to take time, after all they still had to get to know the heart and soul of one another. They fell asleep on the couch together, and it was the most peaceful night they had had in a long time
