It was a few days after Blue and the rest of Special Forces left Afghanistan that Molly found herself on a plane back to Birmingham. So had her own guard though because 2 Section had made it very clear that she was to get protection all the way back to the UK.
Molly was fast asleep, a little bit drugged up on painkillers, when they landed in Brize Norton and was taken to the hospital in Birmingham so when she woke up she was in a room on her own.
She could hear the machines beeping around her, the sounds of people walking up and down the corridor outside and the feel of a hand in hers. With that she moved her eyes over and tried to focus on the arm that belonged to the body of the person who was holding her hand. Molly closed her eyes back up because she still was a little out of it.
Molly woke up quite a few times and on one particular time she heard her mother and Charles arguing to which a nurse told them both to get out and let Molly rest. She passed out again.
On the day she woke up she moved her hand around the bed for the button just to make sure that she had it on her bed and she felt warm fingers slip it into her hand and with that she moved her eyes up from her hand to the owner and was looking in to the face of her ex husband.
Molly moved her eyes away from Charles and ran her tongue along her lips because they were a little dry and as she did she looked around the room and wondered where Elvis was, where Blue was for that matter or even her mother. She knew her mother was here somewhere because she had heard them arguing but Molly didn't realise that that had been a couple days ago. "Is Elvis here?"
That hurt Charles a lot but he let that pass as he didn't want to argue over Elvis "No" he admitted. Charles wasn't sure where Elvis was but he definitely hadn't been here over the last couple of days. So much for looking after her; she ended up like this.
"What are you doing here, Charles?" her eyes were watching him and she had seen the hurt cross his face when she asked about Elvis but that was due to the fact she had been talking to him back on the American base in Afghan.
"I had to see you Molly, I had to make sure that you were ok"
"Oh sure, I've got a hole in me but sure I'm fine" she held up her thumb in a sarcastic way so that he would know she was being sarcastic.
"I want to apologise"
Molly shook her head and closed her eyes for a moment before she opened them back up and her eyes were still on him "I don't want to talk about it, not now"
Charles respected her decision and sat back in his seat and let her get some more rest.

Molly was sitting up in bed the next day and even though she had her head back against the pillow behind her she was awake. There still wasn't any sign of Elvis and she was watching as people walked back and forth along the ward through the window that looked out on to the corridor.
She knew that last night her mum had sat with her after Charles had left and for that Molly was thankful but she feared that the conversation was coming though, the one where he explained what a total prat he had been and that's what happened when he walked in after dinner time that day.
"You're awake" he spoke when he went in to the room.
"Yep, unfortunately right now" Molly wished that she was still out of her head on the good stuff because she knew that it was coming, if he had said something when she was out of it then she would never know the conversation had happened but of course he wanted to wait til she could speak before they had it.
Charles took the chair that Belinda had been sitting in the night before and started to remove his coat to put on the back of his chair. "Well I'm glad that you're awake anyway"
Molly watched him to find out just where he was going with this because with him being like that he needed to be after something, right?
"We need to talk"
And there it is.
Molly closed her eyes up at that because those are the words she didn't want to hear right now but something told her that she was going to hear what he had to say.
"I'm sorry, Molly, for all of this, for me and you"
Molly sighed before she opened her eyes back up and watched him. "Please, don't, I really don't want to hear this right now" she was begging him to leave it alone but she saw the fear on his face. The fear that he would've lost her.
"No, If I don't do this now then I never will get the chance to do it again"
That was correct he wouldn't but she kept her mouth shut at that.
"I was an idiot and I wanted to protect Georgie from everything and being with her was the only way to do that; I'm a lousy father and an even lousier husband and once I heard that Elvis had been killed I knew everything was going to change and I separated myself from you because I thought it would be easier to leave"
Molly brought her hand up and scratched at her temple and wished they would have this talk when she wasn't in the hospital or on pain relief. Then a thought came to her "Georgie found out that Elvis is alive and now she doesn't want you so you've come back to me"
"What?" he shook his head to confirm that that wasn't why he was here at all. They had been married, he had loved her but unfortunately even that hadn't saved their marriage. "No, that's not why I'm here, I'm here because I want to apologise to you for everything that I have put you through and to tell you that I'm getting help"
There was a part of Molly that felt guilty after that because he was finally admitting that he needed the help that he was finally ready to talk to someone who could really help him. "How could you do this to me?" Molly's voice cracked and she looked down at the cover she had over her rather than looking at him. "How could you ask me to marry you and promise me that til death do us part then go off with another woman?"
"Molly-" he was cut off by her.
"Please, just leave me alone" and with that she turned her head away and put it back against the pillow behind her.
He opened his mouth to say something but then shut it back up and nodded once before he turned and walked out the door. What made things ten times worse was Elvis walking down the hallway and heading in the direction of Molly's room.
"Fuck"
