"Hermione?" a drowsy voice called from across the room Hermione currently sat in, "are you alright?"
"Hey Daphne, I'm fine you can go back to sleep." Hermione said, continuing to stare into the green water.
Daphne ignored Hermione and walked towards her and sat besides Hermione. It was cold on the stone floor but Hermione didn't seem to mind although her facial expressions and eyes screamed pure exhaustion.
"There's something wrong Hermione." Daphne said, her voice full of worry for the girl she obviously cared so much about. Hermione sighed and turned to Daphne.
"It's just, the Gryffindor common room was so warm at night, especially around this time at night." She said quietly as Daphne let a confused look fall on her face.
"Why would you be in the common room so late at night?" She asked.
"Sometimes I did everyone's homework or any other work they needed done for them, you know 'make yourself useful Hermione.' and sometimes I would fall asleep." Hermione shrugged while Daphne looked appalled.
"They made you do their homework no wait all their work?" She said.
"Amongst other things yeah." Hermione said, disgust seeping through her voice as the memories came back to her.
Daphne gestured for her to give an example and Hermione just gave in and started talking.
"Wel;, sometimes Ron got really angry and that son of a bitch loved to take it out on lil old Hermione Granger." Hermione said face falling into a painful expression.
"One time, he had lost his temper and well...said some things I didn't like to hear so she tried to defend herself." Hermione pulled down her shirt and on her collarbone was a white scar that you could only see if you were up close but was more visible in the green light.
"I just wasn't strong enough." Daphne looked at Hermione with absolute horror in her eyes. How dare he hurt her.
"It got worse when the other Gryffindor's would join in. Everyday it seems to get worse and worse to the point I can't even go back there without having to watch my back all the time. I can't even sleep in there anymore after I saved someone from getting raped. He told everyone I attacked him for no reason and they threw my stuff out." Hermione said with her voice cracking and tears threatening to fall from her eyes.
"Hermione-" Daphne started.
"Don't worry Daphne." Hermione said giving the girl the best smile she could muster but it only looked broken to Daphne and it slightly dropped at the corner, "You weren't there."
For a moment the two girls were just looking at each other, somehow having moved closer and closer to each other in the last few minutes. Daphne hands wrapped around Hermione and brought her even closer to her. She could feel Hermione stiffen at the initial contact but was slowly relaxing in her hold.
"But i'm never going to leave. No one in our year will ever leave. No one in Slytherin will ever leave. You have our support and friendship." Daphne whispered.
Hermione's body started to shake while she tried her best to hold back her tears. She had already been weak infront of her before she didn't need to see her being weak again. Daphne could sense Hermione's hesitation and tense body. Daphne pulled Hermione even closer placing her on top of her lap and rubbed circles on her back.
"Hey. It's okay to cry. You've been through a lot. Let it all out. I'm not here to judge you." Daphne said and Hermione bursted out in tears and as quietly as possible cried into Daphne's shoulder. Her body was still shaking to an almost violent way but Daphne's gestures were slowly calming Hermione down.
Daphne sat there the whole hour it took to completely calm Hermione down.
"Thanks for calming me down Daph. I'm okay now."
"I'm glad you feel better now." she whispered, still holding Hermione on her lap.
"You don't mind if I call you Daph?" Hermione asked. Daphne smiled though Hermione couldn't see. "You can call me Daph as long as I can call you by a nickname." Daphne replied.
Hermione thought about it for a minute. Harry and Ron had called her Mione but after what they put her through the name wasn't a good one. "Do you have a nickname you can think of for me. I don't care as long as it isn't Mione or Hermy."
"Hermy?!"
"Ron called me it once and it sounds horrible. Makes me feel ugly."
"Hmm how about Mya?"
"Mya sounds perfect."
"Alright then Mya it's time you go to bed. It's currently 3:15 am. If you go to sleep now you can get about 4 hours of sleep. I'll wake you up in the morning."
"Alright Daph. Goodnight."
"Night Mya." and with that both girls gave a final huge before going their separate way to their beds and for once Hermione found it easy to fall into darkness.
"Hermione…. Hermione….. Hermione it's time to wake up… Hermione. HERMIONE!" Hermione's eyes opened and her body stiffened. It took her a minute for her eyes to adjust to the light but once it did she saw Daphne and Pansy shaking her awake.
"I'm up. I'm up." Hermione mumbled sitting up in bed.
"Took you long enough. Come on. You need to get ready for class. Breakfast is in less than half an hour."
Hermione rubbed her eyes and got out of bed and headed into the bathroom with her new robes in hands. She didn't have enough time to shower so a few cleansing spells would have to do for now. Her aunt and uncle had also sent her some things to tame her hair. Her bushy hair was now tamed down to natural looking curls. She put her new skirt, shirt, socks, robes, tie, and shoes on and brushed her teeth.
"Hermione you look great. Like a true Slytherin. Now come on sleepy head let's get to breakfast. After all it's your first day as a true Slytherin." Pansy said excitedly as she practically dragged Hermione and Daphne to breakfast.
The tension only seemed to be getting worse and Hermione wondered just what the Gryffindor's had said or done in the last few days.
The Gryffindor common room the night Hermione was announced to be in Slytherin.
"Guys we have a problem. Those slimy snakes have taken away Hermione from us."
"Who's going to do our homework? We haven't actually done our homework since first year because Hermione could do it easily but now she can't do it. Why did this have to happen to us? Why couldn't they take someone else?"
"Calm down Lavender. We will figure things out. You also have to remember that they're probably just using Hermione just like we are but they're going to be worse about it. Hermione's a muggleborn and we all know how they feel about them."
"No they have a plan for her. They are going to befriend her and use her for their own personal gain. After all Slytherin's tend to do something for a reason. They wouldn't have invited Hermione into Slytherin without having a plan and reason for her."
"Maybe they're trying to weaken Gryffindor. Without Hermione none of us are going to pass our classes and you've seen what they're capable of. Their parents are rich and have a lot of influence in the ministry. We could be facing something that we don't even have a chance against."
"Okay everyone. This looks bad but it's only a month. We need a plan for when she comes back into Gryffindor. We should make sure she knows her place and that she can't leave us ever again. We should have fought harder for her to stay in Gryffindor though Slytherin might put her in her place even more."
"We couldn't stop it. The moment Ron and Malfoy made the deal they were bound by magic. There was no way out of the bind. We're just going to have to sit back and wait for the month to be over."
"No me and Harry have a plan. We need to get Hermione away from those snakes as much as possible."
"Why would we do that Ron? It's not like they're going to be nice to her. She's a muggleborn. I bet you right now she wants nothing more than to come back and surve us because she knows it's all she's good for."
"Stop. We just have to keep Hermione away from them as much as possible. They might know how much we need her and are trying to take her away. Even if they do treat her horribly they aren't going to let her go without a fight. For all we know this is he-who-must-not-be-named plans. We don't know why but we have to plan ahead."
"Harry we don't plan. We're Gryffindor's. Hermione's the one that always comes up with the plain and whatever we need."
"Damn. We're just going to have to sit back and wait then."
"Oh come on Harry. We are Gryffindor's. Well just fight them every chance we get. It's not like they don't deserve it."
"Ron isn't that cruel though. Blaming everything on them. I mean I know we don't get along well but to go that far isn't right."
"Lighten up Harry. Well be just fine and think back to all the times they've gotten us in trouble. It's only a bit of karma."
The Gryffindor common room the night Hermione was sorted into Slytherin and after the fight with the boys.
"Well it seems that fighting them isn't going to work. None of the teachers did or said anything. Professor Snape took away some points from us but that was about it. They seemed to be worried about something else. Maybe even planning."
"That's not our only concern. I've heard talk that Hermione will become a member of Slytherin for the rest of the school year or even permanently."
"WHAT?!"
"They think it might be better to keep her there until the end of the year for house unity or at least that's what the teachers are saying and people that work in the Ministry. The tension between us and Slytherin is getting too high in their opinion and since the deal has been made they're thinking of making it last longer. We might not get her back this year."
"We can't let that happen or people will notice that we aren't doing well. They're going to know that we have been cheating and getting Hermione to do our work. If word gets out then we'll be ruined."
"We won't let that happen plus we have Dumbledore on our side. Let's make Slytherin's life a living hell."
"YEAH!"
Back to present time
It was weird to say the least. Hermione wasn't used to the Slytherin's yet. Her first period today was free and she ended up spending it getting to know the Slytherin's more. She had learned that Blaise was really intelligent. He had a thirst for knowledge just like she did. Thedore as well had a thirst for knowledge though not as strong as Blaise and Hermione and he tended to focus on a handful of things instead of a lot.
Slytherin's best subject seemed to be potions considering Snape favored them. After seeing things from their perspective she could see why he was so mean to everyone else. No one liked Slytherin and were always unfair to them so to make things as fair as he possibly could he had to favor his own house.
The girls had a softer side. They appear to be mean but when they're not around other people they're very caring. Their sneers and glares turn into smiles and joy. They're completely different people. That seemed to be a theme with Slytherin. Hermione was having the best morning ever. Now it was the afternoon and her last class was potions with Gryffindor.
Hermione had hoped to avoid them today but as she approached the door it opened to reviled….
Hello everyone. I hope you have enjoyed it as always. Sorry this chapter is a bit late. Had a lot going on recently. Last time I asked who you wanted to see Hermione end up with and or date and I have read them and the next chapter should include more of the guys to have the moments to become a romantic interest. I'm not going to give her one for the whole story. I think she will date and break up at least twice before the final pairing comes into play.
I will also do trios if you want. Like having Hermione end up with Theo and Blaise or Daphne and Pansy. It also can be someone outside of Slytherin and doesn't matter what year. She could go out with Victor or Fluer. Maybe even Daphne's younger sister or Luna Lovegood people in older or younger years. Any house counties expect Gryffindor or people not at Hogwarts.
I want to know what you want. It can almost just be Hermione with one person. Let me know if you want me to continue and if you want to see more. Leave reviews for me to read as I always read all of them. I hope you had a great thanksgiving and I will see you guys next time. Byeeeee.
