A/N: Thanks for the favorites, follows, and reviews. So, I'm bringing in someone that reeks of AWESOMENESS in the chapter. I think this person would make a very nice addition especially after re-watching the Royal Rumble :).

Ghosts Of Days Gone By
My Ex-Boyfriend's Best Friend

There was a knock on the door to Summer's office. She had finally got her very own office since she was taking on more roles in creative. She looked up from where she was sitting at her desk and saw Adam entering. She smiled when she saw him.

"Hey," Summer greeted. "What's up?"

"I came to see you." The World Heavyweight Champion sat down in one of the seats in front of Summer's desk. "I had some time to spare before the show started so I wanted to drop by."

"That's sweet."

"You usually drop by my dressing room, so I'd thought I would return the favor."

"It's always nice when you grace me with your presence," Summer smiled. She handed Adam some handouts of ideas that she had for his feud with Jeff Hardy. "Let me know what you think of these."

Adam scanned over the documents before handing them back over to Summer. "I like the idea of Jeff and I one upping each other until he decides to make our match at Extreme Rules a ladder match. It makes perfect sense for Jeff Hardy to do that."

"I know that this is your first pay-per-view match against him for the World Heavyweight title, but I wanted to go ahead and plan ahead." Tonight was the Judgement Day pay-per-view. Edge versus Jeff Hardy for the World Heavyweight championship was headlining the show.

"There's nothing wrong with that. I respect the fact that you try to plan storylines out in advance."

"Thank you."

"Of course, Baby." He started a different topic, "So, Jay wanted to go somewhere and eat after the show."

Summer smiled. "That's nice. I hope you have fun."

"You're tagging along with us," The Rated R Superstar stated. "Jay invited you too."

"He did?"

"Yes, he did."

"That's very sweet of him," Summer gushed. "I'm very flattered."

"Jay thinks a lot of you. He says you're his favorite McMahon."

Summer put a hand on her heart. "I'm honored."

Adam chuckled. "You're goofy." He stood up straight. "I'm going to go. I'm going to finish getting prepped for the show."

Summer stood up straight and walked around to the front of her desk to where Adam was standing. She wrapped her arms around his neck while she placed his hands on her hips. "Thanks for coming to see me." She stood on her tiptoes to kiss him.

"It was my pleasure." He bent down to kiss her. "I'll see you later." He let go of her and walked to the door, shooting her a wink before exiting.

Later on when the Judgement Day pay-per-view was over and done with, Adam and Summer tagged along with Captain Charisma to a nearby diner. The three of them were sitting in a booth, Adam and Summer sitting next to each other while Jay sat across from them.

"Summer, what are you going to get to eat?" Jay wondered, making conversation with the blonde woman sitting across from him.

Summer hummed, contemplating her decision. "I'm probably just going to get a cheeseburger and fries."

"A cheeseburger is an epitome of diner food, you can't go wrong with that."

A waitress in her early thirties came to grab the trios drink orders. "Hello, what can I get you three started with to drink?"

"Diet Pepsi please," Summer decided.

The waitress looked at Adam who replied with, "Water with lemon please."

"Water with lemon too please," Jay answered lastly.

"Are you ready to order?" The waitress wondered.

"I think so," Jay nodded. The waitress looked at him as he proceeded to order his food, "I want the cheeseburger with fries."

It was Summer's turn next. "I'll take the same exact thing."

"I'll order the same thing as them," Adam decided. "Can't go wrong with a cheeseburger."

"Looks like everyone is leading by your example," The waitress said, referring to Captain Charisma.

Jay shook his head. "It was actually her idea." He pointed to Summer. "We copied her."

The waitress looked at Summer and smiled. "You go girl."

"Thanks," Summer laughed.

"I'll be right back with your drinks." The waitress walked away, leaving the three of them to continue on with their interactions.

Adam wrapped an arm around Summer's shoulders. "Baby, at some point, Jay was us to go on a double date with him and his wife. What do you think about that?"

Summer quirked an eyebrow in Jay's direction. "You want me to hang out with you outside of work?"

"Absolutely," Jay responded. "I think you and my wife would hit it off."

"I'm flattered."

The waitress came back with their drinks. They all put a straw in their drink and took some sips of their refreshing beverages.

"So, what do you think, Baby?" Adam wondered. "Are you interested?"

Summer nodded. "I think it would be fun. I just can't believe I'm invited."

"Why is that hard to believe?" Adam was gently stroking Summer's shoulder.

"I've never been invited by a significant other's best friend to a double date. It's just a surreal moment."

"That's their loss," Jay stated. "I think you're awesome."

Adam tightened his grip on Summer, whom he still had his arm around. "Like I told you earlier: you're Jay's favorite McMahon."

Jay nodded. "It's true."

Summer smiled. It was good to know that her boyfriend's best friend liked her. She looked forward to their double date. It was definitely going to be a lot of fun thanks to the company she would be with.

The waitress brought their food to them. The trio started digging into their cheeseburgers and french fries. Summer enjoyed the time she was spending with Adam and Jay. Having Adam around was always wonderful, but knowing that Jay was becoming a friend was an added bonus.

Summer sat in the spare room at Nikki Bella's house. It was late at night, but she couldn't get to sleep. She was completely restless. Her phone that was on the end table beside the bed started vibrating. She retrieved her phone and her face went to shock when she saw the name on the caller ID. JAY.

"Hello?" Summer answered.

"Hey, Summer, it's Jay. Do you have a minute to talk?"

"Yeah. What's up?"

"I was hoping you could help me with something."

Summer's interest piqued. "Sure. What do you need help with?"

"Well, I am trying to get clearance to get back inside the ring. I am working on getting tests done and all that good stuff, but I was hoping that you could talk to Vince about me potentially wrestling again."

"That's great news. Right now, I am on leave from my job, but once I return to work, I will put in the word for you."

"Thanks, Summer. By the way, Adam told me what happened. I can't believe that someone would accuse you of harassment. I can definitely tell you that it wasn't Adam though. He sounded torn up about the fact that he was mean to you the other night."

Summer sighed. "Thanks for telling me that."

"I've never told you this, but I want you to know: I think it sucked that you and Adam broke up. You and him were so good for each other. Everyone says that he helped you grow as a person, but you helped him become more mature. He always had this childlike nature about him, but once he got with you, he developed this maturity I'd never seen from him."

"I hate that things happened like they did. But, he has moved on and is happy."

"Things aren't always as they seem," Jay stated.

"What do you mean?"

"Adam isn't as happy as you think. Anyways... I should probably let you go. Thanks for answering my phone call."

"You called me at a good time. I was having a hard time going to sleep."

"One more thing: I still have hope that you and Adam will get back together. Out of everyone that he has been with: you were my favorite and always will be. I know you don't want to hear that, but it's something I wanted to let you know."

"I appreciate that. You have always been my favorite boyfriend's best friend."

Jay laughed. "I'm glad to know that hasn't changed."

"It never will. Anyways… we should hang up like we were supposed to do five minutes ago."

"Bye, Summer."

"Bye, Jay." She ended the call and put her phone back on the end table. She ran her hands down her face. That was an interesting turn of events.

The next morning, Summer and Nikki were in Nikki's kitchen eating their breakfast. They were eating waffles with different fruits and drinking coffee - Summer caffeinated and Nikki decaf since the latter is pregnant.

"You will never guess who called me last night."

"Adam?" Nikki guessed.

"No, but good guess. It was Jay."

Nikki quirked an eyebrow. "As in Adam's best friend Jay? Christian?"

"He's the one," Summer confirmed. "I haven't spoken to him in such a long time."

"What did he call you about?"

"He is hoping to wrestle once again. We also talked about Adam, but I should've known that he would be a topic."

"That would be amazing if he could wrestle again," Nikki said. "He is a gem."

Summer nodded. "He's definitely underrated. If I had it my way, he would've been multiple time world champion."

"I believe it," Nikki agreed. "Anyways… what did he have to say about Adam?"

Summer rolled her eyes. "I figured you would want to know."

"Of course I do."

"He pretty much said that Adam wasn't as happy as he appeared to be and that I was his favorite out of everyone that Adam has been with. He also vouched for Adam and said that Adam wasn't the one who accused me of harassment. I'm starting to believe that someone else said something."

Nikki shrugged. "Who knows? You're never going to know unless someone fesses up and that's probably not going to happen."

"You're right, Nikki," Summer sighed. "I just want to know who hates me that much that they would accuse me of something so repulsive."

"I don't know, Babe. But, I love you. And obviously Jay still thinks highly of you. You have people who love you, so don't let one measly person bring you down."

"I love you, Nik. You always know the right things to say."

A/N: What did you think of the addition? I hope you all enjoy this chapter. Thanks for reading.
