Ciel pats Rose's head "be good while we're gone"
"yes big brother" Rose smiles
"I'll figure out if the circus has anything to do with the missing children then head right back" Ciel tells her "you try to find out what you can from the outside"
"I know" Rose sighs "be careful alright"
"You be careful as well" Sebastian says "don't be getting into unnecessary trouble"
"got it" Rose agrees
Sebastian and Ciel make it pass the test easily, Ciel only passed with Sebastian's help though, as expected. Joker gathered around all the proformers.
"Everyoooone~ from today on, we have some new friends"
"New-comers Black and.. smile" Joker introduces happily "Let's get along well everyone"
"Tell that to Harlequin" Beast crosses her arms
"Right" Joker laughs "where is she anyway?"
"probably hiding" Beast replies
"Their's another performer?" Ciel asks
"yeah" Joker smiles "we call her Harlequin, she doesn't perform often though cause she's always disappearing"
Sebastian and Ciel exchange a suspicious glance
"Would you like to meet her?" Joker asks
"we would be delighted" Sebastian answers with a smile
They walked through the tent and went to the backstage area.
Joker walked to a line of tents "Well these are the tents where you guys'll sleep in. It's where the backstage worker an new-comers, the second tier members, live" Joker parted one of the tens "Harlequin are you in here?" the tent was empty "well she's not in here but this is her tent, bout two or three people share"
They walk out of the tent and go to a larger one "that's the mess hall and the store room. S'an important job of the new recruits to provide the grab, so good luck!" Joker opens the tent "Hey have any of you seen Harlequin?"
"No"
"I don't think so"
"Not since yesterday"
Joker sighs and walks out of the tent, he shows them a bigger tent in the center "The most central one's the main cast's private tent"
"Private?" Ciel questions
"S'a private room you get if you're real good" Joker replies "ah, an.." he points to a tent "That's snake's tent, so stay away from it for your own good. There're a bunch of poisonous snakes roaming free, so if you get bit even once, you're off to the underworld."
"...by the way" Joker turns to them "what happened to your right eye, smile?"
"ah.. this is.." Ciel places his hand over his eyepatch "There was an accident..."
"Is that so" Joker says sadly "So young, but you've been through a lot" Joker smiles and pats Ciel's head "Everyone here's been through something, so you'll get along well with 'em"
They go into a giant tent where many performers were doing different acts
"Right, this's the practice tent" Joker says as he looks around "New people practice over an over here. Aiming to make their debut in a real public performance"
Ciel and Sebastian look around
"Well I don't see Harlequin anywhere but I'm sure she'll show up eventually" Joker smiles "So you two work on the basics first, warm up carefully and-"
"Joker-" Beast shouts from the entrance of the practice tent "It's almost your turn!"
"coming" Joker calls out as he runs over
Sebastian begins to help Ciel stretch.
"To enter the private tent, we have to become first-tier members?" Ciel questions "If it's you, poisonous snakes shouldn't be an issue right? You can see if the children are there or not."
"They're not" Sebastian replies "I couldn't feel any sign of the children's presence either last night or today's tour"
The two move to another stretch
"Even so we have no evidence there's no relation to the children's disappearances. You haven't thoroughly searches every nook and cranny" Ciel argues
"That's right" Sebastian says "There's always the possibility their current condition is such that I'm unable to sense their presences"
"Don't say such unlucky things" Ciel orders
"Understood" Sebastian agrees
"Have you sensed Rosie's presence at all?" Ciel asks "I'd hate to think she followed us here when I specifically told her not to"
"I assure you she is safely at home" Sebastian smiles "she's come quite obedient lately, it's unlike her to stay at the manor instead of following us into a case young master"
"After seeing Alois Trancy die then almost being killed herself she must be frightened" Ciel says "it's good for her to stay away"
"Hey Don't stretch so sluggishly you guys" they see Dagger suddenly standing in front of them with a big grin "who're you talk'n about"
"My sister" Ciel says on reflex then realizes his mistake
"You have a sister Smile?" Dagger asks
"y-yeah" Ciel stutters at his carelessness "I-i mean.. well.. i did... but she's dead"
"That's awful, I'm sorry about that" Dagger apologizes
"It's fine" Ciel replies
Dagger smiles "So what program are you hoping for?"
"A program that doesn't involve using my body for something would be good" Ciel replies dreadfully remembering all the rocks Sebastian through at him just to get him past the test
"You seem weak, yeah~" Dagger laughs "then, i'll be earnestly teaching smile knife throwing, what about you black?"
"I don't have any particular preferences" Sebastian replies
Sebastian then goes and perfectly performs the flying blanco, then juggling, then pole climbing, then passing through fire, then the high wire, and finally the trampoline before being stopped by Dagger.
"Amazing!"
"Way to go black!"
Ciel looks annoyed and goes to Sebastian "You're getting too carried away! Act a little more like a new-"
"C'mon honstly! Another super newcomer's appeared" Dagger smiles "I won't lose you know"
"..hm?... another?" Ciel asks
"yeah this amazing girl just joined us a couple weeks ago" Dagger points up "Look over there"
Ciel and Sebastian looks up to see a girl on the tightrope doing gymnastics, incredibly dangerous.
"doing tricks like that on a tightrope" Sebastian comments
"Isn't that dangerous?" Ciel asks
"Incredibly" Dagger replies then shouts "Hey Harlequin! Come down here for a sec!"
The girl looked over before backflipping off the wire, landing perfectly and safely in front of them, facing away. She stands up and turns around.
"yo, what's up Dagger?" she questions
"These are our new members black and smile" Dagger introduces
"sup, they call me Harlequin" she smiles
Harlequin looks about Ciel's age, but a couple inches shorter than him.
"Nice to meet you" Sebastian greets
"Hello" Ciel simply greets
"Thanks for waiting! It's time for the new arrivals room assignments!" Joker announces excitingly "for fairness these're the results of a lottery" he holds up a paper "Smile's in tent 8 and Black's in tent 9"
"Seba- Black and I aren't rooming together?!" Ciel shouts
"hahaha smile's real attached to Black" Dagger laughs
"tha.. that's not it" Ciel argues
"Don't worry you'll be independent soon" Dagger assures him happily
"Smile's roommate is Freckles" Joker introduces the boy next to him
"It's nice to meet you, Smile" Freckles smiles happily as he puts his hand out
"..yeah" Ciel says as he shakes Freckle's hand
"Black's roommate is.." Joker reads the paper "Harlequin"
"I am rooming with a lady?" Sebastian questions
"Their's no need to be shy here" Harlequin says as she steps forward "It's common for males and females to share rooms here. I won't bite... much" she laughs
Joker claps his hands and smiles "alright everyone off to bed"
Ciel and Sebastian exchange looks before separating. Sebastian walks into the tent behind Harlequin who jumps onto the top bunk.
"Are you bothered by sleeping in a tent with me?" Harlequin questions staring down at him
"Not at all miss" Sebastian replies smiling nicely
"Demons like you shouldn't have that innocent look on your face" Harlequin lays on her bed as Sebastian's eyes widen, Harlequin smirks to herself "night night"
In an instant Sebastian was on top of her pinning her down with one hand, holding a knife in his other, his eyes glowing red "who are you?"
Harlequin laughs evilly as her eyes glow red "oh, just a nightmare"
