Chapter 12: Guffawin and Chuckole Attacks!
[BGM: Rosalina in the Observatory 3 – Super Mario Galaxy]
All of the groups that went over to the galaxies from previously soon came flying back to the Observatory, and proceeded to tell them everything they've encountered there to the others.
"Ah, so you beat your own cosmic self in ice skating." Jack said.
"Yep! She couldn't stand a chance against the greatest ice skater in Kanto!" Eira winked.
Jack laughed. "Atta girl."
"Daisy!" Luigi ran over to her. "You're not hurt this time, are you?"
"Oh no, sweetie! I'm alright!" Daisy smiled. "Though I did struggle a bit while fighting that mole, but it was nothing I couldn't handle!"
Luigi couldn't help but chuckle. "That's my girl!"
"What's that? The Bee Mushroom?" Arusu asked after Eight told his comrades about the new Power-Up he found. "Then I think that other mushroom I came upon could be this one by how you described it. I just didn't even bother trying it out since the Boo Mushroom was there."
"I'd say that the Bee Mushroom was a rather interesting Power-Up after experiencing it." Eight said. "But then again, it's just another type of flying Power-Up."
"And he looked super adorable with it!" Jewel suddenly squealed into the conversation, making Eight flinch in startle.
"Ah! J-Jewel!" he scolded to a giggling Jewel while blushing in embarrassment, causing the rest of the Heroes to laugh.
"Sorry, I just couldn't help it!" Jewel exclaimed as Eight sighed with a frown.
"Seems like you two got pretty close as friends." Eleven smiled after he and the others were done laughing. "Heck, if you both didn't already have your own love interests, I'm pretty sure people would think you're in love or even dating." he said with a rather smug grin.
Now it was Jewel's turn to blush. "O-Oh… W-Well, er…" she stuttered, glancing timidly at Eight.
"Guys, please stop making us embarrassed…" Eight murmured, rubbing the back of his head.
"Okay, we'll stop." Solo chuckled and then they proceeded to have a normal friendly talk. Behind them, Trifle was watching them with a smile.
"My princess sure got herself a great Special Team. She's very lucky." he thought, before he decided to focus on the main task at hand as he turned to Polari. "Hey Polari, what are the new galaxies and comets available?" he asked.
"Oh, right! Hang on a sec…" Polari flew over to the map. "For galaxies, there's Toy Time, Bonefin, and… the enemy base. And for comets… Goodness me! There's two Cosmic Comets over Gold Leaf and Sea Slide!"
"Well, I'm heading for the enemy base for sure!" Trifle grinned. "Anyone else?"
"I'll go!" Red volunteered.
"Us too!" Inkling Girl added as she and Inkling Boy stepped in.
"And besides, I'm having a strange feeling that Octonio might be over there." Inkling Boy said, earning odd looks from the others. "Don't ask why, it was just a thought."
"I'll take Toy Time." Mario said. "Who else wants to come along?" Sonic, Min Min, and Lacey volunteered. "Alrighty, then!" he exclaimed, and then next Luigi and Neri decided to take on the Cosmic Comets on Gold Leaf and Sea Slide respectively.
"Then that leaves Bonefin… to us." Ren said, looking back at the rest of the Phantom Thieves with a smile.
"Really?! We're ALL goin' together?! Hell yeah!" Ryuji exclaimed. "That's our leader right there!"
"Of course I wouldn't let you all down. I was just waiting for just the right galaxy to eventually appear so that we could all go together."
"And I think that was definitely the best choice, considering what that galaxy has in store there." Melissa thought, and then she walked over to the Allies of Justice and waved her wand to summon 8 Penguin Suits in front of her. "If you're all going over there, I highly suggest you use these Penguin Suits. They'll allow you to breathe underwater and shoot ice balls. And don't worry, you'll only gain scuba suits once you absorb them and not a penguin costume."
"I see…" Makoto mused before she and the others took each a Penguin Suit. "Thanks, Melissa."
"You're very welcome. Good luck to you all!"
The groups departed for the Engine Room, and proceeded to blast off to their chosen galaxies. But then a thought came over to Melissa, right after she heard about the Inklings mentioning Octonio.
"Hmm…" she mused, and then walked over to Rosalina. "Aunt Rosie, is there a way for this map to connect directly to one of the galaxies through sound waves?"
"There is." Rosalina nodded. "Why?"
A smirk formed into Melissa's face. "Connect to the enemy base galaxy and get that old radio out. I'll be giving that half-Octoling a fresh surprise."

At Toy Time Galaxy…
[BGM: Super Mario 2007 – Super Mario Galaxy]
This playroom-themed galaxy has many colorful planets made out of rainbow building blocks and gigantic toys, as well as sweets in another portion of the galaxy. The group consisting of Mario, Sonic, Lacey and Min Min soon landed on the starting planet, which was a circular train track with two giant toy trains circling around it.
"Huh, neat." Min Min said.
"This looks fun!" Lacey chirped.
"It sure does!" Sonic agreed.
"Reminds me of the toys I used to have as a kid." Mario chuckled as they noticed three Launch Stars on the track, with one in the left, one on the right, and one in the front. In the end, Min Min went for the one in the front, Mario and Sonic went for the one on the left, and Lacey went for the one on the right.
Mario and Sonic landed on the Screw planet, where Mario went to go collecting the five Star Chips while Sonic had come across a Hungry Luma who requested 50 Star Bits to him, and so he proceeded to dash around to gather them up. With his speed, it didn't take him too long and he went back to the Hungry Luma to feed it the Star Bits, and then it transformed into the Chain planet. Sonic flew off to the new planet, where he saw many Tox Boxes rolling around and Flipswitch Panels to be pressed.
"Pfft, that's all?" Sonic scoffed and dashed ahead, easily getting past the first set of Tox Boxes and turning the Flipswitch Panel yellow before going around the rest of the planet to turn the rest of them yellow. Once all of the Flipswitch Panels were yellow, they all turned green while a Power Star appeared at a lonely orange block, and Sonic wasted no time in heading there and grabbing the Star. "Too easy!" he grinned and flew off.
Mario, meanwhile, had gathered up all the five Star Chips to make a Launch Star appear, and he took off to a planet that just so happens to be a giant 8-bit Sprite of a jumping Mario, with his face, hands and the overalls' buttons being made out of Flip Tiles, his facial features, hair, shirt and boots made out of Shrinking Tiles, and his cap and overalls made out of lava. Landing on a small block that was planted onto the 8-bit Mario's left foot, Mario looked around the planet and a smile of nostalgia spread across his face upon recognizing its shape.
"Ah, this takes me back." he smiled and then spotted five Silver Stars as he ran to collect them and never stopping due to the Shrinking Tiles and Flip Tiles around. After gathering up all of the Silver Stars, they combined into the Power Star that flew all the way back to the starting point, and Mario carefully made his way back to grab it.
With Min Min, she made it to the Conveyor Belts planet after going through the Train planet, and first proceeded to punch the roaming Micro Mecha-Bowsers with her Megawatt to destroy them before touching the Question Mark Coin to make the Spring Mushroom appear.
"Hmm? What's this?" Min Min wondered and then ate it, and suddenly a spring trapped her entire body. "Wah! What the heck?!" she exclaimed as she tried to walk, but ended up falling on her head…and caused her to bounce up really high. Thankfully, she was able to squeeze her arms through the spring and stretch them towards the ledge to grab it with her hands and get herself over there, but she still continued to bounce.
"Ugh, how do I get this off?" she questioned as she bounced towards two conveyor belts, avoiding a Sentry Beam's laser on the way and then she used the spring to bounce high up to a block tower, where a Launch Star awaited and much to her relief, that immediately got rid of the spring around her as soon as she got into it. "Oh, thank god." she then launched away.
Next, she landed on the Dinner planet, which consisted of a plate with a fork, a spoon and a bottle, the latter of which contained a Launch Star inside. Min Min then used her Dragon Arm's laser to cut a circle on the bottle and went in to fly off, as she noticed a giant toy robot during her flight before she landed on the large conveyor belt below it.
[BGM: Heavy Metal Mecha-Bowser – Super Mario Galaxy]
"I believe I'll have to climb up this robot." Min Min said, looking up at the giant robot that was Mecha-Bowser (even if it doesn't resemble Bowser at all) before proceeding to climb up its left foot where she turned a blue screw on the leg and went into the orange Pipe to get to the right leg and screw the other blue screw to make a Sling Star appear.
By using it, she was launched up to the right side of Mecha-Bowser's torso where she would unscrew the yellow screws to reveal a hole with a Warp Pipe as she went into it, taking her to a long platform leading to Mecha-Bowser's right arm. After dealing with the few roaming Micro Mecha-Bowsers, Min Min got to Mecha-Bowser's arm and took out a few Bats with her Ramram Arm and then unscrewed a yellow screw on the robot's shoulder, causing the arm to start falling apart while a Launch Star appeared as she quickly used it.
She was taken to a long mesh platform leading to Mecha-Bowser's face, where the Gearmos were trapped in. Min Min fired a laser from her Dragon Arm to defeat a Magikoopa before making over to the head, as she would climb up to the top to come upon a pillar of stone slabs and she got on top of it to deliver a powerful dive kick, destroying all of the stone slabs at once.
[BGM End]
Eventually, an explosion came out of Mecha-Bowser's head before exploding completely, leaving nothing but the freed Gearmos treading along the large conveyor belt and the Power Star. As Min Min walked over to the Star to take it, she could hear the Gearmos congratulating her:
"You did it!"
"Good job!"
"I thought we were done for!"
"I guess I owe you a thanks!"
She couldn't help but smile, and then she took the Star and flew off.
Meanwhile, moving over to Lacey…
[BGM: Major Burrows – Super Mario Galaxy]
"Hey! HEY! KNOCK IT OFF, GIRL!" the Undergrunt Gunner yelled as Lacey was taking some big bites out of the giant cake the grumpy mole was on, after she had done the same thing to other giant sweet planets she traveled across on her way to this one.
In fact, if we look back at the previous dessert areas, all of them sported large bite marks on every food planet (yes, including those that work like obstacles like the spinning lollipops). You could say that Lacey does indeed love sweets and could eat those all day.
"Could you just close your mouth right now and let me taste this delicious cake in peace, mister mole?" Lacey requested as she glared up at the Undergrunt Gunner.
This got it even more furious. "Alright, YOU ASKED FOR IT!" it then started firing electric gumballs at Lacey, but she was quick to move out of the way and then she pulled out her Love-Love Stick.
"If you won't shut your mouth, then I'll do it for you!" she declared and charged up her Stick before firing a large heart projectile that hit the gumball canister at point-blank range, and it was powerful enough to shatter it and make the Undergrunt Gunner fall down. Then, Lacey took out a Crystal Shard piece and use it to fire a laser at the Undergrunt Gunner to blast it out of the planet.
[BGM End]
"AAAAAAAAAAGH!" it screamed as it fell to the abyss along with the cannon, while Lacey grabbed the Power Star in the middle of the gumballs before biting on one of them, that being the red variety, just for a quick taste.
"Mmm… strawberry-flavored~!" she giggled. "You know, I think this should be good enough." she said, looking at her bite marks she left around the cake and then flew off.
At Bonefin Galaxy…
[BGM: Drip Drop Galaxy – Super Mario Galaxy]
This galaxy was basically a large body of water with a solid core, and a large and spiky shell was shielding most of it. The Phantom Thieves landed on an empty Green Starshroom and they all looked over at the massive water planet in front of them.
"Heh, this is gonna be interestin'!" Ryuji grinned.
"Something about that planet screams spooky for me, I don't know why." Ann said.
"Only one way to find out." Ren said. "We must head there ourselves."
"Then we should use the Penguin Suits that Melissa provided for us." Makoto said and they absorbed the Penguin Suits, as they were now sporting scuba suits that matched the main color of their Phantom Thief attires… but Morgana for some strange reason gained a shark costume instead.
"Uh… why am I a shark?" Morgana wondered.
"Aww, you look so cute as a shark, Mona-chan!" Haru squealed and hugged Morgana, catching him by surprise.
"Let's get going." Ren spoke up as the others nodded before getting into the Launch Star and flying off to Kingfin's planet, as they all landed in the water and looked around.
[BGM End]
"It's awfully quiet in here…" Yusuke mused.
"Oh, wow! We're actually breathing underwater!" Ann exclaimed.
"Sweet!" Morgana grinned.
"Wait… Guys, I'm sensing someone's presence in here!" Futaba warned.
Right on cue, a submarine showed up in front of them, revealing Guffawin as the pilot grinning evilly at them.
"Are you…?!" Makoto gasped.
"Why, if it isn't the Phantom Thieves themselves!" Guffawin grinned. "How nice of you to come here! I can't tell you how much I've been waiting in here!"
"What do you mean by that, shithead?!" Ryuji questioned.
"I've been to this planet for quite a while, potty mouth. You see, this planet right here was once home to the nastiest shark in the entire universe, but unfortunately, a meteor brought him to his last breath." he then formed a grin that was just as big as Fawful's. "However… thanks to my new powers, I was able to revive this bad boy and give him a second chance of living! He's nothing but bones right now, but it should be enough to turn you all into shark bait!"
He then made the submarine turn to the right as if he was preparing to leave. "As much as I like to fight you all myself, I'm not really much into that… so I'll just let this big guy do this for me!" he said and then called out loud, "Kingfin! You must be starving, aren't you? It's time for your supper!" he left the scene with his submarine.
Just then, a loud growl was heard, making the Allies of Justice freeze in place.
"Inari… Was that your stomach?" Futaba asked.
"For once, I wish it was…" Yusuke trailed as something colossal began to approach them, and they slowly turned their heads… to see a horrifying-looking skeletal shark with glowing yellow eyes and razor-sharp teeth.
Kingfin.
[BGM: Kingfin – Super Mario Galaxy]
"Oh my god, it's a bone shark!" Ann panicked.
"Quick! Everyone scatter!" Ren ordered as they did it just in time to avoid Kingfin's attempt to bite them, and then Futaba went into her Persona.
After positioning themselves, the rest of the Allies of Justice proceeded to pelt Kingfin with ice balls, but that didn't seem to do much harm to the creature until Ryuji noticed a Green Shell below him as he swam down to grab it, while Kingfin was trying to fight the others back but they were fast enough to avoid him.
"I don't think ice is effective against him!" Futaba told them as she was scanning Kingfin. "We need something stronger!"
"Hey, bag of bones!" Ryuji got Kingfin's attention. "EAT KOOPA SHELL!" he yelled while throwing the Shell, hitting the bone shark right in the jaw as he roared in agony.
"Nice one, Ryuji-kun!" Haru complimented, but then they saw Kingfin calling out some Skeletal Fish Guards to assist him, as a few of them locked onto the Phantom Thieves and homed in onto them like how Torpedo Teds would.
"Whoa!" Morgana exclaimed as they quickly avoided the homing Skeletal Fish Guards while they were trying to snap at the Phantom Thieves along with Kingfin, until a Skeletal Fish Guard was quickly circling around Ann as Kingfin was right behind her while the rest of the Phantom Thieves were attempting to shake off the rest of the Skeletal Fish Guards.
As Kingfin opened his mouth for the bite, so did the Skeletal Fish Guard as Ann quickly dove down right as Kingfin chomped down, resulting in him getting a mouthful of Skeletal Fish Guard… and it exploded into his mouth, leaving him dazed and then Ann quickly threw another Green Shell at him.
"Got it!" Ann grinned.
"Nice!" Futaba exclaimed, and then everyone saw Kingfin roaring in anger as his eyes shifted from yellow to red and began to swim faster than usual. "It got angrier, but given its cracked condition right now, perhaps one more hit will dispose of it!"
"Understood!" Makoto nodded, everyone quickly swimming away as Kingfin called out more Skeletal Fish Guards and sent them after the group.
Morgana was quickly cornered to a wall as he quickly swam up as a Skeletal Fish Guard went a little too fast and smacked into the wall, revealing a Red Shell behind it. "Aha!" Morgana exclaimed and picked it up and threw it at Kingfin, only that he noticed this and dove down as the Red Shell went past him. "Dang it!" Morgana growled, him and everyone else including Kingfin completely unaware of the Red Shell doing a U-turn and heading straight towards Kingfin… until Haru pointed it out:
"Um, Mr. Shark? You got a little… shell coming after you." she said as Kingfin looked back and saw the Red Shell coming towards him really fast, making his eyes widen and tried to escape, but no use since the Shell was faster and eventually caught up to him and hit him square on the cracked area under the jaw.
[BGM End]
Kingfin swam around wobbly before coming to a stop, where he exploded into many pieces that were scattered around the water. His head exploded last, and then a Power Star appeared.
"Yay! We did it!" Haru cheered.
Futaba came out of her Persona and dismissed it. "Looks like someone here forgot that Red Shells home in on opponents!" she teased while winking at Morgana.
"Yeah, I think I did…" Morgana replied sheepishly as Ren swam over to get the Star.
"Well, we almost became shark bait. Thank god we didn't." Ren said with a chuckle. "Let's be off." he said and then they flew off together.
And finally, at Bowser Jr.'s Lava Reactor…
[BGM: A Tense Moment – Super Mario Galaxy]
"Take this!" Trifle yelled, swinging his staff to knock the coconut back at the Octopus to defeat it. "Heh, I'm a natural at this." he grinned, and then a Launch Star appeared for him and his group.
"That's our Trifle right there." Red chuckled as they used the Launch Star to blast off to the next area… which was very reminiscent of the Splatoon 2's Final Boss arena.
[BGM End]
"Uh… does this planet look a bit familiar to you?" Inkling Boy asked his female partner.
"I do." Inkling Girl nodded. "That kinda looks like…"
"Gyah ha ha!" a voice laughed as the group looked up to see Chuckole coming down… while inside a new flying machine that was an exact replica of the Octobot King II, except that it didn't feature the stage where the brainwashed Callie stood on the upper portion. "DJ Chuckole in da houuuuuuuuse!"
"Octonio!" the Inklings snarled.
"We meet again, Inklings! And I see you brought some company to join the show too!" Chuckole chortled. "Do you like this? This might be another replica of my father's second machine at first… but wait until you see what remixed changes I did thanks with the Grand Star's power!"
"You have the next Grand Star?!" Trifle gasped, and then demanded, "You better give it back right now!"
"Hah! If I or basically anyone working with Lord Bowser give up any more Grand Stars, he's gonna get MAAAAAAD! So this calls for my ultimate weapon, the Octobot King II 2.0! Now, watch THIS!"
With that, he presses a button on the machine and two robots shot out from its back. When they landed in front of the group… they realized that the robots were shaped just like Inkling Girl and Inkling Boy!
"What the?!" Inkling Girl flinched.
"That's a new one…" Inkling Boy trailed.
"GYAH HA HA!" Chuckole laughed, before putting on his headphones. "Now for our first song of the night: Bomb Rush Blush! Time to drop the beatdown!" he declared, pressing a button to turn on the music.
[BGM: Bomb Rush Blush (DJ Octavio feat. Callie) – Splatoon 2]
The robot Inklings quickly fired ink at the group, forcing them to dodge as Red commanded Charizard to charge in and slash Robot Inkling Girl away with Air Slash while Robot Inkling Boy threw a Splat Bomb at them, but Trifle got in the way and swung his staff to send the bomb back at the robot. The real Inklings, meanwhile, were attacking Chuckole, but he was moving his machine around.
"Let's see if you like this!" Chuckole said, sending one of the machine's fists to attack them, but Inkling Girl was ready and shot ink at it fast enough in order to send it back to Chuckole. "GRAAAHK!" he yelled.
"Still the same strategy to beat you, I see." Inkling Girl rolled her eyes.
Squirtle nearly dodged the ink coming from Robot Inkling Girl as she dove into the ink and then used an uppercut on him before kicking him to the side.
"Squirtle, you okay?" Red asked.
"Squirt…" Squirtle nodded, slowly getting back up as Red saw Robot Inkling Girl coming for him.
"Use Withdraw!" Red commanded, as Squirtle did just that to knock Robot Inkling Girl back.
Meanwhile, Ivysaur was pelting Robot Inkling Boy with Razor Leaf, only that he was diving into the ink to avoid the attack and came back out in order to ram into the Seed Pokémon with the Splat Roller, but Red ordered Ivysaur to use Vine Whip to grab Robot Inkling Boy's legs and bind them together. Then, Trifle quickly ran over and slashed it a few times before slashing it to Charizard, who used Flare Blitz to smack onto it, and the brute force of Flare Blitz was enough to make Robot Inkling Boy explode.
"Yeah! One is down!" Trifle fist pumped while Charizard did a growl in approval.
Chuckole saw this happening, and was certainly not happy about it. "NO! Grrr!" he angrily sent the other fist to punch them, but Inkling Boy quickly shot ink at it and sent it back to him, hitting him in the face. "HNNNNG!"
"Quick! Let's get the other robot, guys!" Red said to his three Pokémon… and then the three glowed in a rainbow aura while their eyes turned golden. "TAKE THAT! TRIPLE FINISH!" Red called out, while his three Pokémon unleashed the Triple Finish Final Smash on Robot Inkling Girl. As expected, the combination of Hydro Pump, Solar Beam and Fire Blast all at once was super effective to make Robot Inkling Girl blow up.
"Agh! Not my underlings!" Chuckole exclaimed. "Now you made me angry!" he growled, making his machine rise up higher while pressing another button to change the song.
[BGM: Tidal Rush (DJ Octavio feat. Callie vs. Marie) – Splatoon 2]
"LET'S DROP THAT SPICY WASABI BEAT!" he yelled, and launched a Bomb Rush at them.
"Look out!" Inkling Girl warned as they quickly scrambled away to avoid the bombs' explosion, and then Chuckole sent out the fists again, only for them to get immediately sent back by the Inklings shooting each fist, and so Chuckole lowered the machine down again to send out small balls with Octarian tentacles at them.
The Inklings' eyes widened and they proceeded to pop some of the balls as the Pokémon did the same under Red's command, while Trifle had the idea to pick one up and launch it in the air where he would swing his staff at it to send it flying right towards Chuckole, and it exploded right at his face.
"GAH!" Chuckole yelled.
"Heeeey! Not even I would think of doing that!" Inkling Boy grinned.
"Why, you…!" Chuckole scowled as he made his machine fly up higher again, and then made his machine's speakers turn into Ink Pistons before dashing across the arena with an ink shower pouring out from the bottom in an attempt to shower the group with ink, but Squirtle easily countered it with Waterfall, much to Chuckole's dismay as he next sent out both fists again. Once again, the Inklings fired ink at them… but then a protective shield suddenly appeared around the machine due to Chuckole conjuring it up, and the fists just measly bounced off of it.
"What?!" the Inklings exclaimed.
"HA! Not this time!" Chuckole grinned and then sent the fists back at them, forcing them to join in together by using their attacks to bounce the fists back and smack into the shield, but it had no effect until the Inklings looked at each other and nodded.
"Looks like we'll have to bring out the ultimate weapon right now." Inkling Girl said before she and Inkling Boy closed their eyes and opened them back up, as they were now golden while their bodies were surrounded by the Final Smash aura.
"Sending in the Killer Wail!" they declared in unison while bringing out their Killer Wails, with each of them aiming at a fist, and at the same time, they let out damaging sonar waves with full force and that made the shield shatter, while also sending both fists back and hitting Chuckole and destroying his machine, and the Grand Star that was inside of it came out too.
[BGM End]
"ARGH! NOT AGAIN!" Chuckole yelled in frustration once he saw the parts of his destroyed machine.
"Ha! Now what?" Trifle smirked.
"Now, Charizard! Get the Grand Star!" Red ordered, with Charizard nodding and flying over to the Grand Star on the floor… but suddenly, Chuckole's Robobot-like armor came into the scene by punching Charizard away before snatching up the Grand Star. "Charizard!" Red cried.
"Hmph… you think you're so clever, eh?" Chuckole scoffed, getting back up and going over to his robot suit to jump into its cockpit. "Turns out I'm not done with you yet!" he grinned evilly.
"Oh, come on…" Inkling Boy sighed.
[BGM: Reproduction of Darkness (vs. Dark Matter Clone) – Kirby Planet Robobot]
Chuckole laughed. "Well, then! Let's get this new show starte-"
"Now hold on just a sec, there!"
*record scratch*
Melissa's voice that sounded like it came from an interphone suddenly came in before Chuckole was able to press a button, catching everyone by surprise as they looked around.
"Whuh?! Who's there?!" Chuckole questioned, then his eyes widened in realization. "Wait… It can't be… The Star Realm Princess?!"
"Yes, indeed!" Melissa exclaimed.
"Melissa, where are you? We can hear you, but we can't see you!" Inkling Girl said.
"I'm still at the Observatory. You see, aunt Rosie just established a sonar wave transmission through the map so that any sounds from the Observatory would reach this galaxy! And that's why my voice is reaching up to this place!"
"Dang… I didn't know this would be even possible." Trifle remarked.
"Anyways… I got just the thing you all need in order to easily defeat Chuckole and reclaim the Grand Star!" Melissa continued, as the scene cuts back to the Observatory to show Melissa about to press the play button on the radio next to her. "Hey, Chuckole…" she smirked. "Listen… to THIS!" she presses the play button, and the radio started to play none other than…
[BGM: Calamari Inkantation – Splatoon]
Chuckole's eyes shot wide in horror, immediately recognizing the song. "No… NO! NO NO NO NO NO NO! NOT THIS SONG! ANYTHING BUT THIS SONG!" he yelled, trying to fight the urge to dance while also covering his ears, but it wasn't doing any good. Amusingly, even his robot suit was doing the same thing.
"Oh, heck yeah! This is my jam!" Inkling Boy exclaimed. "The Squid Sisters' singing voices just never fail to pump me up!"
"You said it!" Inkling Girl agreed. "Now it's our chance, everybody!"
"Alright!" Red smirked.
"GAAAAH! I CAN'T RESIST THIS AWESOME MUSIC!" Chuckole screamed as he and his robot suit started to dance to the music. "SQUID YOU, STAR REALM PRINCESS!"
"Let's beat the crap out of him!" Trifle declared, and then he and the rest rushed in.
The scene cuts back to the Observatory again. "Come on, everyone!" Melissa called out to everyone in the Observatory (including the Lumas and the previous groups that just came back from the other galaxies at this point). "Let us have a dance party while Chuckole is getting beaten up!"
"Sure, why not?" Jewel smiled. "This song always makes me want to dance, anyways!" and so everyone gathered near the map, which was showing Trifle and the others battling Chuckole, and proceeded to dance together.
Going back to the galaxy, Chuckole's robot suit proceeded to try and throw some punches at the group while also launching a few Splat Bombs from out of its 'mouth', where they quickly dodged both attacks as Inkling Girl took out her Inkbrush and smacked the robot with it while Ivysaur pelted Chuckole with Bullet Seed.
"ACK!" Chuckole yelled as they kept wailing on him until the robot suit tried to land another up-close punch at them, only for Ivysaur to slam onto it with Double-Edge, as the force of it was strong enough to knock Chuckole out of his suit. A Splat Bomb also came out of the suit's 'mouth' in the process, but Trifle was fast enough to knock it back with a swing of his staff.
"Nnngh…" Chuckole groaned as he tried to get up, only to get buried into the ground by the Inklings' Splat Roller. "Gah!"
"Trifle! Red! Destroy that robot armor!" Inkling Boy said.
"You got it!" Trifle nodded, changing his staff into its sword form to fire a sword beam towards the suit, while Red commanded Squirtle to use Water Pulse, Ivysaur to use Solar Beam, and Charizard to use Inferno, and the combined attacks were just enough to destroy the robot suit and release the Grand Star.
[BGM End]
The music just so happened to end at this exact moment when the suit blew up, and everyone at the Observatory cheered.
"And that's what a call a bombastic finale!" Melissa exclaimed.
"Nice one, sis!" Jewel high-fived her.
"Well, I guess I'll end off the transmission." Rosalina said and made the big screen go back to the normal map.
"Woomy! We did it again!" Inkling Girl fist pumped.
"We couldn't have done it without Trifle and Red's help, though!" Inkling Boy said.
Trifle then walked over to the Grand Star. "Come on, let's head back to the Observatory!" he said as his teammates nodded and they all touched the Grand Star before flying off with it, leaving a buried Chuckole behind.
"Hnnngh…!" Chuckole grunted, trying to pull himself out of the ground but he wasn't coming out… that is, until a robotic hand came from above and managed to pull him out. The camera pans up to reveal Guffawin's submarine, which just so happens to be able to fly in space as well, and the robotic hand grabbing ahold of Chuckole came from the bottom of the submarine. "G-Guffawin?" Chuckole asked.
Guffawin peeked his head out of the window. "I figured that you would get stuck on the ground again. This is almost starting to turn into a running gag, isn't it?"
"Hey!"
"I'm only joking. Anyways… we both failed again."
"Yep…" Chuckole muttered. "Guess we're gonna leave this to Lord Bowser once again, eh?"
Guffawin sighed. "True… but at least we tried our best. Now, let me get you out of here."
The submarine flies off with Chuckole being held on the bottom.

Not gonna lie, it was pretty tough for me to write the battle with Chuckole as I mostly implemented DJ Octavio's attacks from his battle in Splatoon 2 while also coming up with different concepts due to the machine being powered up by the Grand Star instead of the Great Zapfish. In the end, I liked how it turned out, even adding the "Calamari Inkantation" part for good measure!
Another Grand Star is rescued! Next up, the galaxies from the Garden Dome! See you next time!
