This morning was a gloomy morning. There was minimal sunlight outside and there was no sound of birds chirping or dogs barking. Nobody was doing their morning runs or mowing their lawns; everything was just silent.

[AT THE STATION] -10AM-

R:"Morning 19" he said making his way into the beanery where he took his cup of coffee
V:"Morning Chief"
A:"Maya have you seen outside"
M:"Yes I did. It's just a little gray today but we're still going to put on your smiling faces and be the firefighters that we are"
D:"The weather makes me just want to go back home and snuggle up in my blanket"
J:"Honestly this weather just makes the whole Seattle go silent"
T:"I mean it gets pretty gloomy here sometimes but never this early so it's like everybody is cooped up in their houses"
B:"Hopefully that means less calls since nobody will be injured"
M:"Nope that isn't always the case. Assignments are posted downstairs at the desk let's make this shift a good one despite the weather"

[AT THE FRONT DESK]

T:"Hey Andy are you ok?"
A:"I am. Just helping Robert with something"
T:"Is he cleared to be back in the field"
A:"Yes strictly just observation no going inside fires but yes he should be fine"
T:"Are you at least worried?"
A:"As my husband of course but that's when we're home. At work we can all just hope when we go out on a call we make it back"
T:"Understood I'm glad your happy"
A:"Thank you"

*ENGINE 19,LADDER 19,AID CAR 19* West memorial lane civilians in distress

A:"That's us let's go"

[ON THE SCENE]
M:"This looks to be a small diner and the fire is on the back east end. We need to go in with hose lines and we need to vent the roof"
M:"Herrera and Gibson search and rescue, Hughes and Miller on the hose lines and Montgomery will vent the roof" "Let's work smart and lets make it out of here alive"
A:"Seattle Fire Department is any one inside" she shouted down the dark section
J:"Andy stay with me it's very Smokey in here and the last thing I want to do is lose you"
A:"Gibson your a firefighter not my personal babysitter do your damn job"
A:"Hey..hey come here this nice firefighter is going to help you outside" she pulled a women from under the chair and lead her to Jack
J:"I'll call backup to come in" he said hesitantly
A:"Take her and go I'll search this last row and I'll come out I promise"
J:"Andy please!" "Bishop I'm coming out with a victim with possible smoke inhalation and I need a backup firefighter to finish search and rescue"
M:"Copy Gibson!"
A:"Your so damn annoying I'm a lieutenant" she ignored backup and kept on going down the diner aisle with small tables and chairs calling out to victims
[OUTSIDE THE DINER]
M:"Montgomery how's the ventilation"
T:"Roofs ventilated coming down now"
M:"Walker I need you on the inside to complete search and rescue with Herrera" suddenly there was a loud boom on the opposite end
M:"OH NO"
V:"What was that Maya" she said running over to her"
J:"That would've been an explosion and half of the building just caved in"
D:"Wait..Herrera"
M:"Warren take this patient to Grey Sloan immediately with Montgomery" she issued
M:"Herrera do you copy" she got no response
J:"Andy please" he was on the verge of tears
V:"Well Damn it we got no response we need to go inside now. Sullivan can't lose his wife"
M:"We don't know what's on the inside Hughes"
J:"Maya you better not call it. Don't you dare give up on her" he was slowly rising in tension
M:"I need an additional aid car unit to west memorial.." she was interrupted
J:"DON'T SAY THAT LAST SENTENCE"he snatched the radio out her hand

[ON THE INSIDE]

{Andys POV}
I was walking towards the row of tables and I turned around to the left and that's when I heard the big explosion. Everything went silent and it suddenly became dark. I saw the smoke decreasing around me but my body was stiff I couldn't move and I couldn't hear anything. I tried to signal for help on my radio but I couldn't feel it. All I saw was blood and something huge on top of me. One of the things I learned in training is to never let the patient close their eyes so I kept mine opened and I just drifted off hoping that soon someone would find me and help take this excruciating pain away. As I layed there I thought about Robert. The fact of me dying here in this building could mean I would be the second wife he would've lost and I thought about all the memories we have yet to experience and I thought about everything he would do and go through here all alone in this city. All I could do was let the tears flow and hope that soon someone will come for me.

[ON THE OUTSIDE]

M:"I'm going in with Gibson the smoke is cleared now for the most part so we'll be ok. I just need Miller and Hughes on the Aid Car and tell Warren and Montgomery to stay put at Grey Sloan and nobody and I mean NOBODY call Sullivan till I give that order!" She made it very clear to the others and took Jack inside with her
J:"She should be down here because we started down that way and I doubt she's still down there"
M:"ANDY" she shouted
J:"Maya she isn't going to hear you!"
M:"Jack..what if she is.."
J:"Maya how many times must I tell you don't say that word. She is Herrera she must be hurt but she isn't you know what at least not in here"
M:"Wait you hear that noise it's her PASS device"
J:"It's coming from all the way down there"
M:"Oh no this is bad"
J:"Come on we're wasting time here"

*They ran over to the beeping noise and sure enough they found Andy. Her eyes were still open and she had short breathes but she was still alive. Maya and Jack both worked together in lifting the chairs off of her. Maya took off her mask and helped sit her up. She examined her carefully noticing she was in a lot of pain. Jack then came over and carefully picked her up and they all headed towards the exit"

M:"Hughes we got Herrera and were almost out I need a gurney on standby"
V:"Copy Captain"
J:"Don't need a detailed description just get into the trucks and lets go to Grey Sloan"

[GREY SLOAN]

B:"OMG what happened"
M:"Hey Miranda couple chairs fell on her when she was evacuating victims she's super sore in the abdomen and I would say she could have broken something"
B:"Thanks Bishop. Page Ortho and Neuro" she said to the interns she was with
J:"Maya what's going to happen now"
M:"Well since I'm Captain I have to do an incident report and I have to call Sullivan"
J:"I mean one of us can do that"
M:"No Jack I have to"
J:"But it's all my fault though I left and I shouldn't have. I should've waited for her backup"
M:"It's Herrera she was going to finish the job regardless you called it in therefore your fine I'm still doing it"
J:"Fine"

~On the phone~
R:"Captain!"
M:"Chief Umm..where are you" she said very nervously
R:"At the station what's going on"
M:"It's Andy sir we're at Grey Sloan"
R:"Say no more I'm on my way now"

[ARRIVAL]

S:"Bishop speak" he said shaking
M:"Sir calm down. She is alive but she may have broken something I don't know exactly her injuries they've taken her back for a consult and treatment"
S:"What happened on the field"
M:"It was a large kitchen fire at a diner and she was on search and rescue and she seemed to be finishing when there was an explosion and some chairs fell on top of her. Gibson and I went in and there was blood beside her due to a cut on her arm and we carefully transported her to the gurney and now where here"
S:"Thank you" he was starting to get ready eyed so he got up and removed himself from the team but kept close incase of new information
*Dr Bailey and Dr Link came out*
B:"Robert!" She called out
S:"Ahh yes any information"
B:"Yes can we say it out loud or do you want to go somewhere in private to discuss it"
S:"Here is fine there all her friends so they deserve to hear"
B:"She had a pretty deep cut on her arm which we fixed with stitches, she also had some mild bruising on her abdomen but nothing too serious for surgery and she suffered from mild smoke Link will say the rest"
L:"Due to the impact of force on her lower body she did manage to break her leg in two places. I did have to go in and repair it but she should be fine with a brace and in about 6 weeks she'll be able to return to work"
B:"She was very lucky! You can start to see her now she'll be just coming off the medicine so I will warn you now. She is definitely a fighter. I'll be around have the nurses page me if you have any questions"
S:"Thank you Dr Bailey and Dr Link for everything"
M:"It's pretty late and we're all sweaty and dirty so I think we should leave you two alone and head back to the station. Good luck sir" she said giving him a slight smile to show her support
S:"Thanks guys I'm pretty sure she'll be on observation for another day so you can come by tomorrow and see her"
M:"Ok bye Chief"

[IN THE ROOM]

*Robert stood at the door watching Andy curled up in the hospital bed with all the monitors surrounding her making a beeping noise ever so often. As he watched her tears began to form again in his eyes and he couldn't help it anymore he broke down into a silent cry*
A:"Robert what's wrong are you in pain" she asked approaching him
R:"No I'm fine just caught me off guard"
A:"She's fine Robert. No neurological issues and she has a small bruise on her stomach and a brace on her leg but she's Herrera a couple of bandaids isn't going to harm her" she tried to be compassionate as possible because she sensed his fear
R:"I know that's all I hear every time she is hurt. It's just she's my wife now and I hate seeing her hurt or getting calls that something is wrong because I immediately think the worst"
A:"Well I can assure you one thing your wife is alive and she is breathing on her own. 24 hour observation is all she needs and she'll be good to go"
R:"Thank you for everything again"
A:"No problem I have to go now but go inside be with her"
R:"Ok"

R:"Hi my love" he said opening the door and approaching her bed
A:"Hmmm" she groaned
R:"Are you in pain?"
A:"My stomach hurts and my head hurts also"
R:"It's ok your ok"
A:"Are you ok?"
R:"Yes I'm ok baby"
A:"I'm sorry i know I should've listened I was being stubborn like always and now I'm injured" she noticed his puffy eyes
R:"It's ok I'm not mad I'm just glad your alive"
A:"Oh no I'm sorry I didn't mean to make you think I was dead or something" her eyes began to water up
R:"Don't cry I'm not upset. I'm just glad you're here you were being a firefighter and that's ok" he wiped away the tears on her eyes
A:"I love you"
R:"I love you more"
A:"Where's the team?" She asked looking around
R:"Back at the station they went to go clean up and shower"
A:"Are they planning on coming back?"
R:"Yes love tomorrow they'll be here"
A:"Ok"
R:"How about you get some rest. I'm going to get a coffee downstairs and I'm going to come back"
A:"Will you stay the night"
R:"Yes I'll stay the night with you sweetheart"
