Chapter. Delicate

Neville Longbottom Pov-

With my guitar in hand, and earplugs in, I glanced up as Ginny came into the room.

Wearing her red hair in a neat bun and dark green short dress, I couldn't help but wish we were in a cabin alone collapsing into each others arms, delicately.

She locks the door as soon as I get back on the verona chaise lounge in the only dressing room at this pub.

She place a hand on my cheek, lean in and kiss me softly.

Her smell of patchouli and jasmine, made me inhaled longer then needed.

Conveniently, how deeply we care for each other. This was unexpected, yet needed. This exposed visit. We sing together, work together and yet together we are not.

Ginny move towards me, dropping to her knees onto the lounge. I put my guitar to the side, in time for her to remove my earplugs from my ears.

I didn't say a word when her hands tighten on my shoulders.

I shiver as the sensation of her presence.

"Hi." She breathed, face inches away from mine.

"Hi." I replied, my body stiffen as her fingers run lower to my trousers. "Ginny?"

"I missed you all morning and all night."

I grew firm under her touch, quickly. My eyes widening embarrassed, that she has this effect on me. "I... I've.. missed you as well." I shuttered.

She moves fast, hands on my thighs, and our breathing increase.

My hips buck, with her warm, soft hand massaging my shaft. "I wore this dress for you." She whispered.

With a sharp exhale, I shuddered in pleasure with a groan as my head dropped back against the back of the lounge.

Ginny place a kiss beneath my chin. "I cannot wait for you to undress me." Breathlessly I laugh, pleased. Pleased that she was here, pleased that she was touching me this way, of course more importantly pleased that I get to do way more than kiss her lips later tonight.

As she start to pull back, she cups my face, holding me close. "Let continue tonight." I laughed again lifting my head to look to her.

"Way to tease me." I say playful.

"I enjoy my time with you."

"Any time spend with you is beautiful."

"Neville, you are so amazing." She smiled

"I love hearing my name on your lips." My hands slide to her waist, gripping the fabric there. Fast and argent, I kissed her.

She didn't pull away, she engaged my kiss as it becomes more insistent, coaxing her lips open so my tongue can slide inside.

"Mmmm, Nev... Neville..." She moaned, against my jaw, as I kissed down impatiently to kiss a bare patch of skin above her collarbone...but is interrupted by the incessant buzzing of her cellphone going off at the same time.

"I have to grab Albus and James from Luna's, the twins have a new pet." She say.

"Ah, another dragon?" I ask curious.

"Unsure, however I will find out."

"Be sure to pick Lily up afterwards." I suggested.

Ginny laugh. "Yes, that I will certainly do. It was a good idea to have Rose babysitting her while the boys visit their friends and their lovely creature-pers." She smiled.

"Lily is brave when it comes to plenty things, except certain magical creatures."

I nodded. "Well, just dragons suddenly."

"I'm honestly sure it has a lot to do with that dream of her father." She say.

I narrowed my eyes for a second, puzzled on her term father, instead of 'Harry' she always refers to him as Harry. They must have had another rowl. "I assume you two aren't-"

"Neville. I would not like to chat about that, this moment." She stood to her feet and I sighed.

"Well, please know, that if you ever feel the need to. I won't mind. It may seem odd, but I'd like for you to trust me."

"Thank you, yet i do. Truly." She say.

"You haven't mentioned Harry, lately."

"There's a reason for that."

"May I ask, the reason."

"You may, however I say again that I would not like to chat about it."

"I take it you're aware of his night spend with Hermione?" I ask getting to my feet.

"Yes."

"How?"

With a snort, she says.. "I have my ways."

"Potion? Spell?"

"Neville, don't. Besides, not all solutions results end with magic."

I nodded, clueless, curious and confused. "What did he say when you asked him about it?"

"I didn't have to ask a thing at all." She melancholy says, turning for the door.

"Wait." I say, rushing to stop her from leaving the dressing room. "Ginny, please... trust enough to tell me how you are feeling "

"It's humiliating, honestly. As much as I foreseen it ...I dreaded it. How can I look to the person I held dear, since I was a young girl and admit it's time to move on? Understand how he and i grew apart?"

I sighed, heart distraught at her pain. "Ginny, you are the most ambitious, courageous, gal I know-"

"Neville..." She pleaded, again wanting me to come off it.

"The way you sing and dance has always bewildered me, not to mention captivated me, you are a queen of hearts. A soul like yours should be cherished."

She gives me a reassuring smile. "You always know what to say, don't you?" She lightly touches my shoulder as she continues for the door.

I sighed. Why must she stay? Is a question I know no one could ever answer. She's a mother. Yet, i see she's losing herself trying to keep him. To hold onto what once was their everything. Harry Potter is gifted, yet Ginevra Weasley is a queen that is torn in half at the moment.

I then went down the hall, to the pubs stage.

"Hey?" Someone say fast, I pause looking back. "You forgot your sixth string." Joshua Black, from America state and I was shocked his girlfriend Lauren wasn't beside him.

"Lunch Break, Joshua. Try it." I say annoyed that my time with Ginny was gone for the day.

He laughs. "Dude, Lauren and I been playing at this pub with you and Gin, for a couple months now. You can call me Josh."

I nod in understanding. "Can you not call me that." The term 'dude, sounds so barbaric.

He laughs, sitting on the steps of the pubs stage, just when i sat at the table in front to finish up writing out song on the flyers for our show tonight "So, you have the lyrics to tonight's show, I see."

"Actually, no. Not quite."

He laughed again. "From where I'm sitting, seems you got it to me. I heard you rehearsing yesterday, easy to remember if you ask me."

"I don't."

"Nev, I maybe young but I know when a guy is jonesing about a chick." He say.

I stared at him.

"Even Lauren sees it, so we know Gin does too."

"Ginny.." I corrected. It's annoying how he shortens everyone's name.

It's not like i fix on Ginny addictive; I just care for her. We have a delicate bond-ship.

"Yeah, Ginny. We all know that's why you've been in your feelings about the lyrics and changing them every five minutes."

"I like for them to be perfect."

"Or... you just want them to be Perfect for her." He says, glancing behind me towards to the entrance.

Thinking about what just happened in the back, my heart was pounding, but I realized it wasn't nerves. It was misery at lounge room and what's been happening for the last few months. This sucks. It was my gut, begging me to walk up to her and tell her that our illicit affair is not enough for me. I wanted more.

"We are best of friends." I say.

"Dude, you don't believe that."

I rolled my eyes.

He got to his feet, and moved to stand behind one of the three microphones on stage.

"Hello, everybody. My name Josh, and I play in this lovely band named- ah...umm," He look to me, then out to the floor of eight or nine pub-goers. "Well...ah my new Britain friends...I mean lads.." He laughs. "Who graceful allowed me and my amazing, talented girlfriend Lauren to join their musical act here and other pubs each night this Sumner haven't yet thought of a name per-se... and we are beyond thankful to play alongside them. Anyway, there's this song about a girl that a cool guy wrote..." My eyes grew wide.

He wouldn't. "That i would like to test..ahh it's still unfinished... but I guess I'll sing you the lyrics so far and you tell me if you like them." Josh says into the microphone and suddenly Lauren walked across the stage with my guitar, that I left in the lounge dressing room. She gives it to him. "Thanks babe," He says as she sat down at her piano, and gave me a quick wink then look to Josh. "Ok, Here it goes..." He pauses as Lauren who not only plays my notes that I created last rehearsing night.

Lauren, also slows down the melody and I glanced back at Ginny who continues watching from the door.

With a sigh, I turn to look at Josh, who starts to sing the lyrics I had written.

"My darling, my dear, here, I see... you.. here...and you shine...shine ..forevermore captivated, by the way you, shine. Your hands always kind. Sweetly, they fit mine well, I want to stare into your eyes and never look away. I want you to hold me in your arms and tell me to stay. I want to kiss you with a passion that only we can share, and when the world comes crashing down I want us to be here. Like American celebration lights, red as your cheeks on these hot nights, and pale green as that dress robe you wore before we were sixteen. My darling, my sweet dear, we enjoyed ourselves, even when I stepped on your toes. In grass lots we sneak where no one knows. In a pink dress gown... you'll go."

The entire room was silent.

I jumped at the applauses and cheers, the small audience expressed and I glanced back at Ginny, who rushed out the door.

I knew I had to explain. I quickly jog threw the chairs and table, behind her path out onto the stone walk.

I knew In my bones she would head to the garden that was not too far away, we usually took snack breaks out there when needed to be alone.

The street was empty, exception of four or five people.

"Ginny!" I call soon as I see her lowering herself onto one of the many wooden lounge chairs. "Allow me to explain." I say fast.

She exhaled glaring down.

"Remember, the morning after I checked the post box? When we received our first invitation to perform at the pub?" She says.

"Hard to forget, we shared crisps that we shouldn't have eaten. I even had tea on my trousers." I said embarrassed and she laughed quietly.

"Yes..."

"Well.. accidents happen often with me as you know." I say looking to her, "Certainly now. About the song-"

"The song was beautiful, Neville. Honestly, brilliant. I'm not upset because of that." She says and I lowered myself beside her.

"Remember yesterday, when you announced you were headed to the shop?"

"Yeah, I asked if you need anything from the chemist?" I say.

"Which was quite thoughtful of you , it always you to think of others." She says.

She said no on needing anything, yet decided to go on her own last night, i heard from Lauren this morning.

"Ginny?" I asked in hope she will quickly tell me what was upsetting her.

"Neville?"

"Hm?"

"Do you want more children?"

"I'm not sure, never thought of it." I say honestly.

"Sometimes, I try to imagine the pain you carry with the lost of your wife and infant son... and lately the death of your dear grandmother-"

"Ginny..." I say not wanting to think of that.

"Perhaps your grief and the depression of my deteriorating marriage has been weighing heavily on us."

Little does she know, my broken bones have been mending since the day we've first begun spending our lunch breakaways close. Since our time at Hogwarts I've always admired and adored her deeply. Now, my fondness have grown.

"Wait, are you saying you want more children with Harry?"

"What? Heavens no. How can you ask that?"

"Sorry, I'm sorry." I shake the thought from my brain.

"Stupid, to ask."

"No, he was never good at changing a nappy." She laughed to herself. "I remember being underground and having James in his pushchair on my way to the ministry. He rarely wanted us to be lonely while he worked."

I feel guilty for being jealous of her love for him. They may be in the midst of a breakup, yet they could urgently change their minds. Emotions higher than the city of lights tower, so who am I to be worthy of consoling her in this moment.

"Can you sing the song to me?" She ask looking to me.

"The song?"

"It did not seem unfinished or nameless to me."

"I wanted it to be perfect."

"It was, even being sung by someone else."

"Well I make a point to never disappoint you." I smiled. "If only it can come so easy."

"No, it's good that it has taken this long. Your timing has always been perfect, like you."

"I'm not perfect, Ginny."

"No one is, yet I believe there are perfect moments in time. Perfect lovers for each and every person. Neville, what I need to say is not easy. I am barely, understanding the confirmation of it myself."

I straightened up on the bench as she faced me completely. Her outfit tight, moved with her.

"I did not want to slow down, and seemingly as our secrets out, there will not be much to cover up that I'm pregnant."

Didn't expect that one. "Wait, what?"

"i found last night, that we are having a baby. I know we only shared a couple evenings together-"

"The last exception of our latest rehearsal together, four weeks ago...long after everyone went home...we were not safe." I say.

This surely explains her questionnaire of remembrance. She has been obsessing over simpler times, just as well as our moments together.

"Happiness can be found, even in the darkest of times." I say remembering the dearly departed Albus Dumbledore words to Harry, that Ginny once repeated to me.

"This, here, to me is that happiest time in the darkness of life." I say holding her pale, warm hands in mine.

"Albus Dumbledore, a wise old wizard you think had all the answers was actually just guessing a lot of the time, and has made quite a few mistakes, however-."

"No one is perfect. This is no mistake..i see now." She laughs as tears run from her beautiful eyes.

Ginny touched my lips, a light, quick touch that didn't allow me time to react.

"What everyone would like, what everyone need has been killing me because I've fallen in love with you. Neville. You've always been a terrific friend to me and I was battling my heart, for quite some nights."

"And now?" I ask.

"Now, I plan tonight to tell Harry that I'm carrying a baby that is not his."

I smile happy to hear those words, while nervous at the same time I wonder how upsetting that will be.

"Sing to me the first, song. The very first one you created in my honor." She says.

"I don't have my guitar." I laugh amused that she wish to hear it.

"That's fine." She says.

I grin, clearing my throat.

"You make me feel special, you make me feel new, you make me feel loved, with everything you do, you hold me close when I'm sad, numbed it in time you had. That day we spend together, it was clouded and cold, yet what a perfect place. I adore the way you kiss. Arms held tight my love, I could be with you all night. Darling if only you knew, You shine for absolutely no reason at all, with all that you do. I stay here to catch you fall. In this world, I've seen it all. I like for you to know, that even out of sight. I will always adore you day or night." I sung, "Originally wrote as a poem though-"

"You are amazing, Neville."

I adore the way she says my name.

"You do not know how happy i am to be with you."

I wonder how will she tell James, Albus and Lily.

Albus is my God son, yet how will he feel to learn that I'm having a baby with his mother.

My grandma Augusta was my only family. My son Nicolas would have been sorted into Gryffindor before the sorting hat even touched his head if he would have survived childbirth. Could Ginny, go through this again. Her fourth child.

Oh no, now I may have to get back to being an Auror and professor of Herbology now that I'll soon be a father again. I'll have to search for 13 "Cherry, unicorn wand. My child can be proud of me once i make something of myself. The band days will be only for fun.

I dealt with so much loss, yet this can be the beginning of a true beautiful family of my own.

"Let's meet for breakfast, in the morning." I say.

"Our usual cafe?" She smiled.

"Let's celebrate elsewhere, I'll come to you." I say.

"Looking forward to it."

"Come, let walk back to the pub." I say, offering her my arm to hold on to.
