"Gasp! You mean he actually updated his story without waiting months in between?"

Yes, yes, calm yourselves, I do things right occasionally.

Thank you for all your reviews!

Luke came back. It had been a couple of hours since he had left.

"Good news! The General said you could leave if you felt up to it!" He delivered this news with the air of someone who announced I had won the lottery, but I developed more questions, and since Luke had come back, he was the perfect person to ask.

"How am I our sides fiercest warrior if I'm going up against the literal children of the gods?" That was the most burning one. The words on my wall said I was the son of Poseidon, but what if that wasn't true? That could prove or completely disprove the words on the wall.

Luke looked a little puzzled, then smiled, "I keep forgetting how much you've forgotten. I'll answer your questions, but let's get to a room that's a little more comfortable first."

That seemed a good a plan as any. So I took his offered hand and stood. Luke led me out of the room, but I was a little hesitant. What if I forgot what the wall had said? Would that matter?

After a few seconds of hesitation, I followed him through the doorway. I mumbled something about how those four walls were the only place I'd ever really known. Hopefully, he would buy that.

He led me to another room. It was like the room I'd been in before, but this one had chairs. Not really all that exciting, but a place to sit that wasn't the floor sounded awesome.

We sat down and he looked at me. "Listen, Percy. You are our fiercest warrior because you hold the blessing of Kronos."

So not the son of Poseidon?

Luke continued, "You have a sacred duty to him. You used to be a normal kid, but he's blessed you with extraordinary power. The rest of us can't be as great because we're tied to the gods. My father is Hermes." Luke spat out the name like the taste of it reminded him of garbage.

"What does the blessing of Kronos do?" To say I was curious was a bit of an understatement. I was pretty sure Kronos was a Titan of some sort.

"It grants you the power of a normal demigod, like You're faster, stronger, and more durable than a normal human, though not by much. You read ancient Greek about as well as you read English and you're a natural with weapons. That's just the baseline stuff though." Luke looked a bit excited now, "You've always had an affinity to water, you can understand horses, and maybe with enough training, you could cause earthquakes!"

I paused, that stuff sounded vaguely familiar, "So... like what Poseidon can do?"

Luke's face fell, but only for a fraction of a second, then it was back into that smile, "Yeah! Poseidon is Kronos's son, after all. Kronos gave you the powers of one of his own traitorous sons. It's kind of a way to get back at them for turning on him."

I was still confused, "Didn't he eat them though?"

Luke shook his head, "Common mistake that the myths made, he didn't eat them. He raised and cherished them, but when they turned on him, they started spreading that lie."

"Oh." That was weird. I still had more questions though. "So, why is the team coming to try to make me switch sides?"

Luke's face darkened, "They put that spell on you. They didn't realize anyone but they could stop the amnesia, so they're coming to take you, stop your memories from erasing, and convincing you that you're on their side."

I shuddered at the thought of that. "But it's a good thing you managed to stop it before they got here."

I still wasn't one hundred percent convinced that what was written on the wall was a lie, but it seemed that I had written nearly the opposite of what I had meant for everything there. Or maybe it had been planted there to confuse me.

Luke nodded, "A very good thing."

We sat in silence for a few seconds before I asked, "So, what do we do now?"

Luke sighed, "Well, we're going to have to try to train you as best we can before they get here."

"Do we know when they're getting here?"

Luke nodded, "We're expecting them before the solstice."

"Which is?"

"Tomorrow."

"What!" The deadline was so soon? The training was probably going to suck.

Luke smiled, "Don't worry, we have an entire army at our disposal. We're going to try to get them to join our side, and see errors in the gods. We're going to need your help doing that."

I was a bit puzzled, "How come you need my help?"

"They've always had a bit of a soft spot for you. That's another reason they targeted you instead of someone else."

This was a bit crazy. I wasn't sure, "How will I help?"

"They'll give you a chance to speak. They might even listen to you." Luke looked assured, "Just know that if they don't, you will need to attack first, get them off their guard. Can you do that?"

I hesitated, but only for a moment before I made up my mind. "Yes. When will my training begin?"

Luke smiled even wider, "Right now."

He had given me a pen, and it took a second for him to explain that this wasn't an ordinary pen. I had to uncap it before I believed him. It sprang into a three-foot-long bronze blade.

"Its name is Riptide. It will always return to your pockets, alright?"

I nodded.

Then we sparred. It was clear I was very good at swordplay, even if I didn't remember that I was good at it.

We took a break and laughed like brothers do. I didn't think I had a sibling, but if I did, he probably wouldn't be as awesome as Luke.

The thought of family spurred the question, "Luke, do I have parents?"

Luke shrugged, "Most likely, you wouldn't be alive otherwise." He frowned a bit though, "They abandoned you as a baby, we found you, and now here we are."

That made some sense.

We got back to sparring.

We practiced for around an hour before Luke got a message, he unrolled it and read it out loud. "They're in the garden of the Hesperides."

I was a bit startled, but I felt prepared, "Is that nearby?"

Luke smiled, "Just at the bottom of this mountain."

We left to go confront them.

So, Luke is a pathological liar.
