"Wait child I know you want to give your new armour set a test run however I do believe I will aid you in battle, oh yeah." Richard said
"Alright the rest of you guys better find Natsu as I am certain he is not in the best of conditions right now." Ernesti said with a relaxed smile.
"We'll also need to stop Brain as well from using Nirvana." Jura said as the group left with Wendy and Lucy shooting a nervous glance at the child.
Ernesti was right about one thing and that was Natsu was in a bad way having been suffering from being poisoned by Cobra who would have gone for the killing blow if Brain had not betrayed and shot him in the back. He was going to try and convert Natsu over to their side by flooding his heart with darkness so that Natsu would become evil.
Meanwhile Richard was currently hammering away at Midnight who was doing his best to dodge as Ernesti looked on unimpressed. "I don't know why but, I was kind of expecting more out of this fight then what I am seeing." Ernesti deadpanned.
Richard could always locate Midnight no matter where he tried to hide as Ernesti stood off to side as he allowed Richard to pummel his opponent. Ernesti thought letting somebody as strong as Richard start them off so that the duo would have an easier time however now it looked like Ernesti wasn't even needed.
However Midnight had gotten up and had all of his wounds healed now would be the time for a counter attack. "I have so many dreams when I sleep I bet you do too as well as Nightmares." Midnight cast a spell on Richard but Ernesti leapt in front and had the shield absorb most of the damage. Still Richard got hit and took a knee.
"Sorry Richard it is still a prototype and I haven't worked out all of the bugs yet." Ernesti said.
"No problem child I can still fight." Richard tried to get up.
"No I'll take it from here you rest." Ernesti said.
Midnight saw Ernesti thrust his sword and attempted to reflect the attack back on Ernesti however he only managed to push the blade a little to the side.
"What how come I can't reflect your attack back on you my fathers magic is strong but mine is far superior to his." Midnight said in shock.
"That may be true your magic is even better than my own which is why your reflection of attack will not work here. You see it isn't how many tools you have it is about the way you use them and I studied script magic while here and applied it to my armour, sword and shield." Ernesti said.
"Hah a simple protection script should have been by passed by my magic." Midnight said as he was forced to dodge a slash aimed at his stomach causing his shirt to have a small cut and then Ernesti tried to go for a downward swing only for the tip the sword to just tickle Midnights chin.
"Enough I will not be beaten by a mere child." Midnight sent an attack at Ernesti's shield hoping to warp it however nothing of the sort happened. "That shield should be nothing but a crumpled up piece of garbage." Midnight was forced to duck under a sword swing.
"I keep telling you it's how you apply things." Ernesti said sending in a shield bash which Midnight caught with his hands as he was pushed away by the force.
Jura however had asked Brain about why they chose the Cait Shelter guild as there were other ones that were closer to Nirvana.
"You want to know why I have taken special interest with that child as well don't all of you well the answer is very simple if one looks at it." Brain said as not only had he but also Jellal had an interest in the youth. "You see Ernesti is quite rare and rather powerful if one were to look at it another way you see Ernesti has a special kind of maker magic about them."
"Oh yeah and what type is that." Gray yelled wanting answers.
"Come and find out if you can, know this though the child is anything but ordinary." Brain said.
"Of course Ernie isn't ordinary who could come up with half the stuff he designs with anyways." Lucy yelled.
"The time for talk is over." Jura said as he unleashed an attack with the earth that smashed into Brain quite hard and sent the man flying. Brain had gotten up and tried to attack Jura with his staff which only managed to pierce through the bald mans defences after he hardened it to be like iron and even then Brain found himself struggling. Next was a way more high powered attack that was put through a much bigger defence of rock. It had continued on like this for the next little while Brain would attack only for Jura to show him up in how much better he was in his defence. One last attack from Jura had found that the broken rock about the place that Brain had recked had become an attack of it's own slamming into Brain and causing a massive amount of damage.
"You still haven't told me why the Cait Shelter guild was your target when you had better targets else where." Jura stated.
Ernesti looked on the landscape looked like hell as he had wanted to finish this fight at it's quickest moment as he was running low with magical energy at the current moment as he kept trading blows with Midnight it seemed that he would fall soon due to exhaustion. Ernesti maybe talented but, even he had his limits and he was quickly reaching his and that just couldn't due because he made a promise to Wendy in his mind to make sure her guild was protected she was valued for her contributions to what they had endured in this quest thus far.
Jellal and Erza had decided to take a load off of Ernesti's shoulders for his hard work with Midnight as the duo approached Jellal decided to send a blast of energy at Midnights way as it was sent around the man. Ernesti was panting hard as his reequip disappeared and Erza had come up to the boy and steady him so she could gently set him down on the ground.
"Good job Ernesti." Erza said with a smile.
"Erza be careful I only managed to deplete him some of his magic he still has more and hey you brought Jellal here how's his memory." Ernesti said with a smile.
"Still not recovered yet." Erza said.
"You two should leave this to me." Jellal said.
"No I read about the self destruct magic circles the one you attempted to put on Nirvana severely drained you as it stands without your memory you'll have difficulties." Ernesti said.
"That may be true but, I know I have to do this." Jellal said as he attacked Midnight again only for his attack to be reflected.
Back with Brain and Jura the two were still going at it with Jura using his earth abilities to create pillars that blocked Brains attacks only for the attacks to go through the barriers. This kept up for a little while until Jura used the destroyed debris to slam into Brain and then Jura compacted the earth crushing Brain who was inside the earth prison. Jura had one the fight as Alexander looked on he knew he didn't have enough energy to keep going and had to call it quits right now in order to rest.
"Hey do you guys think you can handle the rest without me I'm running low on magic and stamina." Alexander said.
"Not at all it was nice working with you as strange as that is to say." Jura said.
"Yeah see around Jura." The man in question walked off with a wave of his hand.
"Honestly working with a dark guild of all things." Carla said.
"Well to tell you the truth he was pretty nice actually all them in Demons Blessing were." Wendy said.
"Honestly child." Carla said.
"You think that's bad you should see what Ernie does sometimes." Lucy said.
"I shutter to think." The white cat responded.
Jellal was on his knees having used up a good deal of his energy in the fight against Midnight and before that the self destruct magic circle.
"Jellal you're worst than me to think that you were the one responsible of enslaving children to help build the tower then you were going to sacrifice Erza it took that child stopping you." Midnight stated coldly.
"This child still has some questions he would like to ask Jellal so how about you give up before you get hurt." Ernesti said.
It was then that Erza stepped in as she reequipped into her heavens wheel set and sent bunch of swords flying at Midnights way only to have the same swords reflect right back at her and have the woman deflect all of the swords sent her way. Then Midnight caused her armour to try and constrict her as she threw her last sword at Midnights way seeing the man dodge the sword gave Ernesti an idea as Erza broke out of her amour set and tried attacking two swords in her hands with her standard Heart Kruez set. Only for the blades to knocked out of her hands and Midnight once again used the woman's armour to constrict again only this time he was interrupted by one powerful punch to the side of his head the blow was so strong it sent the man flying and slamming into a building. The person who caused the punch was none other than Ernesti himself as he panted a bit before righting himself. Both Erza and Jellal were surprised for two things one that Ernesti landed a blow on the man and the next the amount of power he had behind such a blow.
"Ernesti you hit him." Erza said wide eyed as her armour returned to normal.
"Yeah I noticed one thing when you threw your sword like you did he tilted his head to the side." Ernesti said.
"Yeah and how does that translate into you landing a powerful punch like that." Erza asked.
"Because if he was able to reflect the sword back at you he would have done so, so I realized he was focused on your armour rather than performing his reflection attacks." Ernesti said calmly.
"Oh so that's how you got him it was when his focus was on my armour that his guard was down." Erza clarified.
"So did you use magic to amplify your strength then." Jellal asked.
"No that was natural given strength." Ernesti said with a smile.
"Wait so that was you without any amplification whatsoever." Jellal asked shocked.
"Yep can't be a Knight Smith by being a slouch come on we need to find the others." Ernesti said.
"Come on then lets go find the others oh yeah." Richard came over to the trio.
"Whoa." Ernesti said as he was put into a piggy back ride by Erza herself.
"Come on your running on fumes as it is." Erza said as she easily carried Ernesti leaving Midnight knocked out on the ground.
So ending it here Now I know what some of you were thinking well Brain and Midnight were beaten in my story so then Zero has to come out now. No see at the beginning Hoteye wasn't beaten by Jura as he converted over to their side and then to stop your confusion he was only injured when he fought against Midnight cause Ernesti jumped in.
