Ok then, here we are with the next update and unlucky 13 it is! Anyway as you might remember me saying in the last update that I had a Batman Returns rewrite planned which I might have up next once this story was completed. However I'm not quite sure how to pull it off so it might not happen anytime soon unless it is perhaps a co-written fic.

That said though, I do have something different I have been writing on the side as a experiment fic which is a very strange adaption of Alice in Wonderland which let's say is not based on any of the other adaptions such as the 1951 or 2010 films but rather original and quite...mature. I'm not sure to put it up of keep it private though if there is interest it might see the light of day after I've completed this fic though depends if there is interest.

Anyway without further ado, let's begin with this chapter which see's the return of our favourite Aunt!

Chapter 13

An Aunt's Love

The rain was starting to come down quite heavy now and it was the sort of heavy downpour that pretty much everyone would've all been running for cover. That is all except one person who emerge from the church tower. If anyone had bothered to stay out in the rain and look up towards the church bell tower, they would have seen not a man standing up there and looming down on world below…but something monstrous.

Standing at nine feet tall, huge muscles, clawed hands, covered from head to foot in the black Symbiote and a large head with a huge mouth with sharp rows of teeth…it was a corrupted and nightmare version of Spider-Man. Except, this wasn't Spider-Man but Eddie Brock who was now consumed by the Symbiote, but unlike Peter before him, Eddie had given himself up to the Symbiote and had all but fully bonded with it allowing the creature to twist his mind in so many ways and now called itself Venom.

From the low that Eddie had found himself in when he walked into the church, this bizarre meeting by chance with the Symbiote now filled him with powers behind his wildest ambitions and with the anger and hate swirling through him, the Symbiote sense this and knew it had found the right host to allow itself to be bonded with.

As the Symbiote had managed to get to know much about Peter even in that short space of time, it had taken much of Peter's memories, secrets, and all sorts that any anyone with nefarious motives might have used against Peter Parker and after what had happened, that was what the Symbiote was planning to do now.

From not knowing much about Peter other than he was just a rival photographer at the Bugle, Eddie's mind had been filled with almost everything about Peter from his now obvious secret identity, where he lived and those close to him…those who now seemed like the perfect target to strike at his heart.

"Most fascinating," Venom's voice growled sounding like a merged voice of Eddie and some demonic force. "Parker harmed us, humiliated us…now he will suffer the consequences for the error of his ways!"

Thunder erupted though the air and this was the cue for Venom to make his leapt down from the top of the clock tower and down towards the ground where despite being high up, he landed with ease though it did look quite a forceful impact. The rain was starting to get heavier by the

As those huge blank staring white eyes gazed at the towering skyscrapers, Venom chuckled knowing exactly what he wanted to do; find Peter Parker. But another thought struck his mind…he had to test himself to see how powerful he really was.

Indeed, not so long ago, a certain astronaut had brought the Symbiote back to Earth and his fears of this dangerous piece of alien material falling into the wrong hands in a city that had seen its fair share of crazy masked menaces looked set to become a reality…

Despite the rain starting to come down heavily and wearing pretty much nothing in which many thought he was crazy; Peter had made it back to the apartment, landing on the balcony yet soaked all over with only just the temporary web costume giving him just the barest of protection. If that wasn't enough, Peter was freezing, and it was possible that had it not been for him having superhuman abilities then it's likely he would be suffering from terrible hypothermia.

That said despite how foolish he might have looked, there was something good about the situation that was most obvious. The Symbiote had finally gone. No longer did Peter hear any voice is his mind talking or even trying to manipulate him into doing it's bidding and the one word that Peter could describe the feeling inside him was…quiet.

Not joy, fear or even relief to some extent. Just silence in which the emptiness in him was quite a strange feeling and a sense of independence that he never thought he would feel ever again. However, thoughts only then flooded his mind as to what happened to the Symbiote. Though he was sure there was nobody else there, he could not help but feel that he should have looked down the shaft to make sure all was well. Indeed, had he done so; things might have gone very differently had he only looked…

Whatever the thought, Peter just wanted to dry off and hoped that with a clear head he could find his wife and try and mend the damage he feared he had brought this upon herself about what had happened to Kraven.

The rain was hitting glass doors that despite the lights being on inside, it was hard to see what was happening though those doors. Slowly she opened the door and there dressed in casual clothes was Felicia sitting on the couch, but she wasn't alone and there was someone there sitting alongside her in which as Peter saw who it was, his breathing stopped, and his eyes widened.

"It…Aunt May?!" Peter spluttered in shock.

Indeed it was, there was Peter's dear Aunt May, perhaps the only other woman that was important in his life next to Felicia and the latter woman held one of May's hands tenderly as if they had been talking about something personal.

"P-Peter…it's true," May uttered staring him up and down.

The silence in the apartment was deafening and no knew exactly more shocking…Aunt May upon seeing Peter having a secret life or the awkward fact that here was standing in the middle of the room nearly naked and soaking wet.

The brunette male glanced down briefly seeing the webbing that covered him and he broke the silence. "Um, just give me a minute…need to dry off."

Before both women had a chance to speak, Peter raced into his and Felicia's bedroom in which slammed the door shut and felt his heart racing. It had finally happened…his dear old aunt had finally found out about his secret identity no doubt thanks to Felicia. He should have known sooner or later that she would find out, yet did it have to be this day of all days when he was really at his lowest point?

He then walked into the small bathroom that joined onto the bedroom and investigated the mirror at the weary looking face staring back at him. "What am I doing?" Peter grumbled sadly as he peeled off the web costume before drying himself off with a towel. "Why did Felicia bring her here?"

He supposed his wife had good reasons and he would find out why, however after slipping on a navy-blue housecoat and all dried off for the most part, he walked back into the living room in which Felicia and Aunt May were still there and still feeling awkward about the whole situation, he sat away from there on a leather chair and not the couch.

"Ok…I don't know how to explain everything," Peter began.

Felicia though raised a hand up to get him to stop. "No need my dear. I think your aunt knew already."

"Wait, what?" Peter asked in confusion.

"She's right," Aunt May replied and slowly stood up and walked over to him to place a comforting hand on his shoulder. "I suspected ever since that day since that bank robbery you and I were at."

Peter then remembered the day she was talking about. It was the first encounter he had with a certain Doc Ock in which he had been trying to raid the bank and in all of this had captured Aunt May and nearly left her to die in front of an oncoming train yet Peter, as Spider-Man of course, had saved her.

"H…how'd you know?" Peter asked.

The elderly woman smiled. "When it all happened, one minute you were there and then the next you were gone and then Spider-Man shows up. I'll admit I was curious as to why this was the case…then you said that day in which you entered that wrestling match to make money in which Ben…"

She paused and briefly looked away; she still cared deeply for her husband. Peter remembered that day as well and still felt guilt after his own actions did lead to his uncle's demise and wonder what if he had entered to begin with or had stopped that criminal. That was always going to haunt his thoughts no matter what.

"It had all started to click," May continued. " Then after Mary Jane married and you started going out with Felicia, her hair did bring a striking resemblance to that Black Cat."

"Guilt as charge," Felicia added raising in arm up in defence.

May giggled and smiled at her nephew. "Call it my nosy nature but it all seemed to add up that my dear nephew was the one and only Spider-Man. It's incredible to think you mean so much for the city."

Peter was taken aback by this and stood up placing his hands on her shoulders. "But Aunt May—"

"No need to speak," May assured him. "When you went away, Felicia rang me up to come over and she told me everything about what happened."

Peter glanced over at his wife in which she nodded. "I had to, though I was amazed she seem to work it out as soon as I told her who you were."

May chuckled at her nephew's confused reaction. "Oh yes, I will admit I might not be what I once was, but my mind hasn't gone just yet showing my suspicious were not so crazy. From that school trip regarding the spider bite, your first meeting with her and everything else for that matter…no need for you explain everything."

Never in Peter's life had he felt so conflicted on what to do in a situation. Though he was glad that he no longer had to keep a secret from his aunt that with hindsight he should have told her sooner, though the real elephant in the room was about a certain Symbiote.

"Look Aunt May, there is something else I need to tell you and also Felicia for that matter," Peter began. "The Symbiote's gone."

For once Aunt May did look confused though Felicia only knew too well of what her husband was talking about.

"You did? What happened with it?" Felicia inquired as she stood up walking over towards the pair.

"I got rid of it at a church tower," Peter replied. "It seems loud sounds are it's weakness would you believe."

"What is a…Symbiote?" May asked looking perplexed.

Peter looked over at Felicia. "Should I tell her?" She nodded and thus Peter began to talk about the one story in which Felicia had said anything about which was how the Symbiote came to be and what it had been able to do.

Perhaps not to anyone's surprise May looked stunned at hearing this mainly upon hearing that the Symbiote was able to speak to him via his mind and how Curt Connors was the Lizard. Though as he ended that easy part about the Symbiote, he now had to tell the dark side in which he knew his Aunt May was likely going to hate him for, but he had little choice but to reveal all.

"Today…I, well rather it, did something really horrible," Peter shuddered. "We were trying to find Dr Connors but we encountered Kraven the Hunter who tried to shoot at us."

"What happened?" May asked and saw the nervous expression on her nephew.

"Well…the Symbiote made me angry, like, really, really angry…I just saw a red mist and went up to beat him up to a pulp and then…" Peter paused briefly as the sight of Kraven's broken body floating downstream into the ocean was a horrible one he did not want to imagine. "I…threw over the edge and left him to drown…I don't know if he even made it…"

He felt tears threating to come out and his Aunt May looked up at him not knowing what to say or if what he had just reveal to her had really stunk in. However, Felicia could sense that all was not well and stepped in to speak to May.

"It was the Symbiote," Felicia explained. "Peter would never do that; he was used as a pawn and he was in a horrible state when he got here and I tried to tell him that it wasn't his fault. Plus, we do not know if Kraven is still out there, it's possible…plus he's gotten rid of the Symbiote."

May looked up at her distressed nephew and pulled him close to give him a warm hug. "My dear Peter…we all have made horrible mistakes in our lives, but you've made amends by getting rid of it and didn't fall down a dark and dangerous path. You've kept to the straight and narrow to remain good."

She pulled back to look up at Peter. "I'm sure if Uncle Ben was here, he would feel very much the same and he would be proud at the man you've become in using your powers for the good of all in this city."

Peter felt a huge weight lift off his shoulders. It was one thing having one woman in his life who didn't think was responsible but to have two women? How many could consider themselves lucky? He felt like he wanted to break down in relief that he wasn't thought of as a monster and the atmosphere in that apartment was one of forgiveness, sympathy but above all…warmth.

Aunt May then looked over at Felicia smiling at the pair embraced and the older woman had another thing to say to her in-law. "And Felicia…I have one more thing to say for you."

"What's that?" she asked.

"Thank you for being there for him," May replied warmly. "I must admit I didn't know what to think when I first met you but after hearing all that you have done to look out for my nephew and playing a part in keeping this city safe…I'm truly happy to call you as one of the family."

It was a happy occasion for all and after everything that had happened it looked as though it was a happy ending for all. Little did either of them know this moment of family bonding was to be only a reprieve before something truly horrible was about to happen to the city. More frustrating had they had the TV on, they would have only seen what was going on…

In a hospital and lying-in bed watching the TV along with many other invalids was Curt Connors. Despite his horrible experience, he had kept his promise to Peter and Felicia about their secret identities and had told the media and press about his cover story about the Lizard capturing him (which in some ways was not exactly wrong) and that the monster had been defeated by Spider-Man and Black Cat which they went on to save him.

Thankfully pretty much everyone seemed to believe him, and he was reunited with his wife and son and he would be soon out of here and back home. However, his thoughts on the future were rocked as he and his fellow patients and many hospital staff were watching a shocking news report on the city in which a giant, black monster was wreaking havoc on the city and it looked like a more beefed-up version of Spider-Man as to one passing nurse had mentioned.

It was a shocking thought and Curt's thoughts went back to John Jameson's fears about bringing a dangerous alien material to a city that was full of danger and now those concerns had become a reality and now he was helpless to what was going on. What could he do to help?

XXX

Elsewhere in the city while that news report was on, the Daily Bugle staff seemed to have all been watching the same report and in Jonah's office there was along with him were Robbie, Betty, and Hoffman in which the latter was looking as though his mind was blown.

"I…I don't believe it," Hoffman stuttered.

"Believe what?" Better asked who was like with the rest open mouthed at seeing this monster causing chaos in the city.

"Of what Mr Jameson has been saying all the time," Hoffman replied sounding frantic. "That all this time he was right…Spider-Man is a criminal…right sir?"

At this point, one might have thought Jonah Jameson would have been delighted at being vindicated that at long last here was Spider-Man being caught in the act…but instead he looked subdued, stunned and instead had only one thing to say to them that made them all astonished at hearing it.

"That's not Spider-Man…we need him to save us."

When JJ is acting like that, you know shit is going down! Anyway hope you all enjoyed that and even though it wasn't anything action pack in it was just to allow a rest chapter in before the third act starts now and yes, we will see more Venom than what we did in the film. Now with your lovely reviews:

A guy with a big imagination - It will likely be less 'heavy', though other than that I haven't got much round to think more about how to write it all up and about a Forever and B&R rewrite...long way off before that becomes a thing for now.

NeoTyson - Peter may of finally gotten rid of the Symbiote but that will certainly not be the end of his troubles!

Guest - That might be, but since this following the events of the film then it does follow that side of what happens to Eddie here.

Marvel Nerd - The Symbiote was trying all this time to fully bond with Peter though most of the time he was trying to not get too deep into it and when he got rid of it, it was pissed off at what had happened. All Eddie was agree to permanently bond with the Symbiote.

SpideyxBC - At the way things have gone regarding it being Symbiote, probably not though when you think about other powers...she does have that ability to keep Peter together when he is having a tough time which I suppose you could say is a power. Such is the magic of SpideyxCat.

Lelouch2618 - Haha, Felicia looks good in black no matter the situation and I do feel that after the Symbiote, she would like her Spider-Man in black and there is a little something planned with that in the next chapter...And about Venom, yeah things are going to get rather tasty...

So thank you all for following the story and please leave more reviews as they are always good to give me motivation. Anyway until then, catch you guys later!
