Omake: Mischief

(First Omake, I hope you like it. Enjoy)

It was bright, way too bright really. There wasn't anything as far as I could see but there wasn't even anything to see. The only thing there was a person in a white robe, I tried to get closer to him but no matter how many steps I took he just didn't move. No matter how fast or slow I went he stayed in the same place, was really annoying if I'm being honest. He finally turned around and I saw his short brown hair with two tied locks by his cheeks, and I feel like I remembered his face from somewhere but I couldn't really pin where. He looked at me after all that time and he just smiled… I didn't know who this man was but it felt comfortable for him to smile at me so I tried to ask him who he was and-

"ZEKO!"

"Yes, I'm Zeko." Gone was the tiny, cloak wearing boy with spiky white hair that was too big for his head, now there was a boy who was six inches taller with no cloak covering his plain white shirt. His hair looked shorter but in reality it just fit his slightly bigger head better than ever before, he had a pair of brown fingerless gloves and his usual black pants and open toed sandals. He wasn't the only one who grew up some.

"You zoned out, we can't pull this off if we aren't all focused." Rei said while his brother held a large amount of books in his hands. The two had gotten taller than they already were but proportionally they looked the same compared to Zeko, their beige outfits still matched just to mess with people but now they both wore black scarves around their necks. Zeko could always tell the two apart since Ran had a small mole just under his chin, perfect for him to see. "It's been a boring Autumn so let's make it more fun."

"Right right, sorry I was thinking about a dream I had. Weird that you didn't get me a birthday gift this year Rei... I hit my first decade and you didn't even get me a card? I'm still helping with this since I like mischief." He glanced to a woman seated at a desk and then to a number of girls and boys around their age helping around. "Okay nobody's looking, let's go!" Right now the trio were in a civilian library with no dangerous jutsu or classified information so they had free reign, and what did they do with this freedom? What boys their age did best of course… Create controlled chaos.

"Rei, help me switch them out, Zeko pass me the rest of them!" Ran moved the books he'd been holding onto the shelf while Zeko and Rei helped place new ones there, what type of chaos were they creating to where it only involved moving books from one place to another? Well it's simple, they're young boys who find the simple things in life entertaining.

"Hey it's those three again! Kaichou, they're at it again!" A girl pointed a ruler at the three while they were moving the books over and five more showed up to confront them. One girl had a red badge on her shirt and moved to the front of the group.

"What is wrong with you three? Every other week it's something else. What are you messing with the books for?!"

Zeko gave the most smarmy grin that he could at the question. He started backing up while the twins did the same, they managed to get the rest of the books onto the shelf in the few seconds of monologue that their disciplinary president used to speak. "We're just putting some books where they belong, but don't worry we'll just be going now." One girl advanced and read the titles of the books they'd put on the shelf.

"Cleaning, basic cooking, advanced culinary arts, there's even more about sewing and treating injuries… Kaichou I don't think they were doing anything wrong this time."

Their leader looked at the books herself and figured that maybe just once the three idiots hadn't done anything warranting punishment, but that feeling only lasted until she looked upwards and saw what section these books had been moved into…

'Women's Sports'

Three boys burst out of a library and bolted down a street with six figures chasing after them, the taller two were in the lead while the shortest of them was behind only by a few feet. "Whoever gets caught has to buy lunch Monday!" Rei exclaimed while he and his brother looked back at Zeko.

"You two must have bad memories." Zeko sped up and passed the both of them, he then decided to show off and flip over a rail and land onto a street below. "I haven't been caught by them yet!" Ran and Rei looked back to see the group catching up so they did the best thing they could think of-

"I'll take the roofs."

"I'll take the streets."

They split up, Rei leapt to the rooftops while Ran went straight ahead. The disciplinary committee stopped and split into thirds to pursue the trio separately. The president and her partner went after Zeko while the flunkies pursued the twins.

"There he is!" Zeko just landed in an alleyway and looked behind himself to see the two on his tail. He smiled and ran down the street he was on, not bothering to look backwards since it would slow him down. He didn't want to break his record of not being caught so he didn't waste any energy. He leapt down a flight of stairs and rolled at the end only to keep going while his pursuers took every step down at a rapid pace.

"Too slow Kobaya-san!" He had the right to taunt them since they usually speed up and he wanted to get a decent workout in, and he was right since they did speed up in their chase so he had to get clever in losing them. He vaulted through a window and charged through someone's hanging clothes only to jump through a pane of glass, at least he was kind enough to toss the clothes back into the window. His kindness allowed the two girls to round a corner and catch up with him so he started back up in his evasion, running along walls and taking to higher ground to stay out of their sight… It didn't work well since there were people staring in his direction whenever he sprinted by so the trail was obvious. He ended up at the end of an alleyway on a rail overlooking a garden.

"Isn't it too early to cause trouble on a weekend Zeko-san?" Zeko turned to see a member of the Suna police force on the same rail he was balanced on. "What did you three do this time?"

"Heh, we put cookbooks in the 'Women's sports' section of the library." His reprieve didn't last long since his pursuers finally showed up and stared directly at him, however unlike him they were out of breath and clearly worn out from their chase while he was perfectly fine and had more to give.

The adult shook his head and hopped down from his position. "Well I want to see how you get out of this one, you don't have your gourd so not much sand."

"Give it up, by now the others have caught your friends. If you come willingly your punishment won't be anything too record altering." Kobaya stated as she smacked her ruler into the wall of the alleyway. They approached him and he looked nervous as they did.

"I'm sorry but I can't have any academic strikes, and since you have to catch me it won't ever happen."

Kobaya chuckled and gestured at their current position, he was left with nowhere to go while they cut off his only exit so his streak of constantly escaping was done here and now. "Nowhere to go Zeko-san."

"Well…" He leaned back. "Nowhere but down." And he fell from his perch but when everyone looked over they didn't see the injured form of a preteen, instead they saw Zeko climb out of a cart filled with cotton. "I told you Kobaya-san I've got a record to keep!" He started running again and vanished once he turned a corner.

"He's a sharp kid, if I was a betting man I'd say this was the closest you ever were to catching him." He looked at the girl who was clenching the rail hard enough to make the veins on her hands pop out.

"This is just a taste of what the Akuma no Suna can do, he's the only one we've never caught whenever it's something. And it irritates Kaichou to her soul."

'Demons of the sand? Well in his case it makes sense.' The man left the scene to go back to his dull job of walking around the village. At least he had a couple minutes of entertainment with that show, and it was free of charge.

Zeko was on a rooftop with an orange book in his hands. He managed to swipe it when he first left the library… It wasn't stealing since it's a library and he planned to return it and that would be his excuse to whoever asked. "Huh, Icha Icha Paradise? Never heard of it. I guess I can read it while I wait for those two." He flipped open to the first page of the book and started to lazily scroll through its page, only to find himself getting invested into the story as he read. What really drew his attention from the main plot points was the adult aspect of the book he was reading, but he was this far in so a few more seconds wouldn't hurt.

Seconds turned to minutes and those minutes added up to an hour where Zeko was enraptured by the compelling story of the book, smut be damned he cared about where the story was going above all else. Alright maybe he was interested in the smut too but the story wasn't half bad so far. "We might be doing more stuff involving the library now…"

A roof wasn't a terrible place to take a nap when you're an insomniac but when you had a book that most adults correlated with nothing other than porn it would make sense to try and hide it. Unless you were Zeko and decided to just nap with the book on your chest then you were stuck between being either very brave or just a fool. The girl who found him resting on the roof probably saw him as a mixture of both so she decided to carefully wake him up by smacking him with the literature. "Get up Zeko-kun."

He opened his eyes to see blue hair and red eyes staring back at him. "Touka-chan! I haven't seen you in a while, where have you been?"

The girl sat down beside him and brushed her hair behind her ears. "Ever since I became a genin I've been doing mission after mission, Okaa-sama wants me to be the best she has."

"Just wait till I'm there with you, I did an S-rank when I didn't even have a hitai-ate. Who knows what I'll do when I get one?" He laughed at the end of the question and looked at Touka again. He wasn't sure what it was but she almost looked more cute to him, it made his chest feel weird seeing her and he could almost swear that her shirt looked like it was fitting tighter.

"Just cause you can do that doesn't mean I won't beat you again and again."

'You really need to make sure she can't keep that over your head anymore. I say hit her so fucking hard she forgets!'

'You shut up.' Zeko ignored the rant of his mental roommate and decided to stand up. "Can I have my book back? I wanted to get home so I could finish it." Touka handed the small book to him so he walked to the edge of the roof and waved at her before he back flipped off with all the exaggerated swagger he could muster.

This time he stuck the landing on his feet instead of in a cart and he pocketed the book. "I wonder if they have any chestnuts in the market right now? I hope to Kami that someone does. I should ask Tou-chan if he started liking them when he turned ten too."
