Story Start!

"Well, see you later Naruto, I have some stuff to do today!"

"What in the world could she have to do?" Naruto asked himself as he watched Lala fly off with her costume bot's wings. He had absolutely no clue, and he didn't really want to ask since he was not going to be able to catch up to her at the speed she was going. "You have any clues?" Naruto asked Rito.

They went to the same school, of course they walked to school together.

Rito waved at Naruto as he ran by.

"I've got to meet up with Sairenj... Ha-hahah-haru... Sairenji-chan." Rito tried and failed to call her by her first name. He could do it when he wasn't trying, but when he made an actual effort to do it, he failed miserably. He just became way too self-conscious about himself. He ran off without Naruto, not even looking back.

Mikan passed Naruto as she pat his back, since he had stopped walking when Rito ran off without him.

"Be careful, since you're injured, you shouldn't act like a hero until you're healed. So don't go involving yourself with other people." Mikan gave her warning to Naruto. He still had both a head injury and his palm had been pierced. He wasn't in proper fighting or hero condition at the moment, though she gave him this warning all the time.

Not to be a hero, since police and fire fighters existed for a reason, or that he didn't need to get himself involved with others all the time. That was what led to him being 15 and having a fiance, his inability to mind his own business. She was still bitter about that, it hadn't even been more than a few days and she was being forced to cook breakfast and dinner for Lala, though thankfully Lala was NOT difficult to cook for. She was not a picky eater in the slightest, much like Naruto who wouldn't complain about food being put in front of him.

"I can't make those promises. My parents gave their lives for me, and it's my job to carry that heroic spirit on my shoulders. I'm the son of two heroes, so..." Naruto paused for a moment as his thoughts drifted to Lala. Naruto frowned to himself as he put his hands in his pockets and started to walk silently.

Right, Lala.

She was stronger than him, smarter than him, and she didn't need him. He was doing everything he could to keep his promise to her, so he didn't know how he could be a hero for everyone, when he could not be a hero for the one person he truly needed to be a hero for. A girl he promised himself to. He didn't have the strength to save her from threats that could actually hurt her, and he wasn't smart enough to be helpful to her with those inventions of hers.

"Oh dear... oh dear, oh dear."

"Hear, let me give you a hand. You look like you're having trouble." Naruto stated as he smiled, seeing an older woman with her hand on her hips. She had a cane in her hand, and she was was trembling a little.

"Ah... my little kitten is stuck, he climbed up there and he can't get down."

Naruto spit on his hands and rubbed them together, before he gripped the tree and started to climb up it. Not another word needed from the older woman for him to decide to help her out. Naruto gripped the tree, but winced when he used his left hand too roughly. So he started to climb the tree without using his left hand. It was an easy climb anyway though, and Naruto didn't give the kitten time to resist him as he grabbed it by the torso completely. It gnawed on his hand and tried to scratch him, but he just cradled it against his chest and started to descend back to the ground. He left go of the tree and landed on his feet, before turning to the woman.

"Here you go, and have a good day. I'm going to be late for school." Naruto stated as he gently handed the woman her kitten.

Why waste his efforts saving kittens from trees?

Even Naruto didn't know why he couldn't leave other people alone when he saw they needed help. Naruto walked with a smile on his face, and he put his hands back in his pockets, since he still had way more than enough time to make it to school. His smile did fade away though.

'... Yeah, I helped that lady... but anyone can get a kitten from a tree. Is this really the kind of life my parents wanted me to live?' Naruto thought to himself. Lala and aliens were a cold awakening for him, to the fact that he wasn't as strong as he thought. Naruto had a lot to think about, since for the first time in forever he had reason to question himself.

Help people.

"OH SHIT! My spare tire!"

Naruto saw a man shout as his spare tire started to roll down the hill. Naruto saw it bouncing as it rolled, and he saw that the man had gotten a flat tire. The man was very skinny, and didn't seem like he knew much about changing a tire. Naruto braced himself and moved in the way of the tire, crossing the street as it bounced in the air. It slammed right into the center of his chest, and knocked the wind from his lungs. Naruto just grabbed a hold of it though, grunting in pain for a second, before he slammed the tire on the ground. The man was running down the hill, and Naruto managed a grin.

"... Need a hand changing this? Shouldn't take more than a couple of minutes with the two of us working together." Naruto stated with a grin. He started to carry the tire up the hill quickly, where he could see the truck was already propped up.

"Thanks, I have a super important meeting to go to today, and I can NOT be late."

Naruto helped the man change the tire of his truck, working hard as a couple of minutes passed by, before the truck was repaired. Naruto got up and dusted himself off, while the business man bowed and thanked Naruto.

"You're a lifesaver!"

"Can't stay, I've got to hurry to get to school." Naruto stated as he looked at his phone for the timer.

"Need a ride?"

"Nah, you said you have a meeting. You can't be late for that, I can be late for school if I need to." Naruto started as he picked up the pace. Naruto helped the guy out, not because he wanted anything from him, but because he saw the guy needed help. He would have liked the ride, but people who helped others were suppose to do it without expecting anything in return.

That guy was a stranger to Naruto, he had no place asking the man for a reward, when he had freely offered hie help to the man.

-At School-

"You know, this seems like something a villain would do. Are you sure this Naruto guy would capture a hostage?" Zastin asked as he held a girl firmly, but not enough to hurt her. He had her mouth covered and one of her arms behind her back. He was willing to do this to get Lala back to her home, but he didn't feel right about holding a weaker being hostage like this.

Only 3 of the Thugs had actually showed up with him to take down this Naruto character, and even though they told him about all the nasty things that Naruto did to others, and how horrible he was. He would rather just challenge Naruto to a honorable duel for Lala, that way he could really judge the type of man Naruto was, on the off chance that Lala had actually chosen a man worthy of becoming king of the galaxy one day.

"Yeah, there is nothing he wouldn't do." Thug 1, Zastin didn't like how nasty these guys were so he absolutely refused to remember their names, spoke with confidence in his voice. Zastin looked at the other students at the school, and he looked at the police officers on the ground that had tried to rescue the hostages.

All alive of course, he effortlessly knocked them out in a way that they would not be injured and they would only wake up with a slight headache and maybe some minor memory loss. He would not dishonor their brave spirit in trying to save the hostage, but sadly these thugs told him that they would need the hostage.

He didn't understand that though, because it didn't make sense to him.

"Guys... he's almost here, got a text from the look out. They spotted him running really fast, seems like he is going to be-"

"-AND SAFE, NOT LATE FOR SCHOOL!" Naruto shouted as he rushed into the school gate. Naruto sighed in relief to himself, before he blinked when he saw a man holding a girl hostage with a tail similar to Lala's tail, but with a different shaped tail tip. "Oh great, this morning even has losers like you creeps. Okay, I'm just going to kick your asses and get this over with." Naruto stated as he cracked his knuckles and started to walk towards the thugs.

He had no patience.

"Hey, pretty boy, do the thing with the girl's head." Thug 1 called out to Zastin, and the alien applied more pressure to her face until it caused her some visible pain.

Zastin did not look comfortable doing it though.

'... If he is really evil though... would he even care about there being a hostage. I understand using dirty tricks to fight him, but involving innocents? A wicked man would not even bat an eyelash at this.' Zastin couldn't see how any of this would make sense. His eyes widened a little when Naruto stopped walking without any hesitation.

He seemed super angry, but he stilled stopped, and he looked towards the hostage.

"... Don't worry, I'll make sure you don't get hurt. They are after me, not you, so just relax... what do you bastards want?" Naruto asked, since usually whenever a hostage situation happened he would be able to take care of it somehow. Using his surroundings to allow the hostage to escape, or intimidate the one holding the hostage.

Somehow, the losers had allied themselves with a powerful alien on the same species as Lala, which meant no tricks he had could rescue the girl and allow him to fight back.

Naruto watched the thugs running at him.

"Naruto, dodge!" Rito shouted from the crowd as he forced himself to the front. He had already been in the classroom when the hostage situation started, and he could guess by the weird looking guy that this had something to do with Lala.

Naruto didn't need words when he saw fists.

Naruto unclenched his knuckles, and he took the first blow to the face, and took a step back instead of being sent flying. He didn't let out a noise as his face was hit, he refused to give them the satisfaction of knowing that hurt. He kept his eyes open and stared the man who punched him in the eyes, even as he took a blow to the jaw from another guy.

"Hey, you guys aren't going to let him fight back?" Zastin asked with some shock. He assumed that the hostage was JUST to make Naruto fight them all fair and square. Clearly, Naruto wasn't being allowed to fight back at all as he took a knee to the gut.

Brass knuckles came into play as more blows came.

Naruto kept looking between the thugs beating him, and the hostage that was trying to struggle as hard as she could out of Zastin's grip. His feet moved as he took blows, but he never made a move to block or even dodge a single attack.

'Damnit... I should have gotten here sooner, if I had, I could have beaten these guys before they took a hostage. I've got to save...' Naruto's thoughts were paused when he took a crowbar to the stomach. He did show a reaction to pain as he leaned forward, and had his head grabbed before he was kicked full force in the face.

He walked backwards still, and wobbled on his feet as he slightly changed direction so that his back was facing the hostage.

"Those... are not the actions of a bad person." Zastin muttered to himself.

He was sure of it now, this guy in front of him was very noble. He was making sure that his back was turned to the hostage so that she couldn't see how much he was being hurt for her sake. Zastin just watched the noble display with his eyes starting to understand. He looked around at the crowd as well.

"Naruto! Fight back!"

"Come on Naruto, kick their asses, you're the strongest guy I know!"

The girl bit Zastin's hand as hard as she could, and she got herself enough room to speak as well.

"Uzumaki-kun-"

But before she could speak, Zastin covered her mouth again. He wanted to keep watching what was going to happen from here on out. It was clear that nobody was going to actually help Naruto, they were too scared of the thugs with weapons. They were just weak Earthlings after all, when faced with a bigger and stronger enemy, who had weapons while you had nothing, all they could do was scream and shout to make themselves feel better.

"Leave him alone!" Rito broke free of the crowd and started to charge towards thugs, his knees shaking and fists balled up.

Naruto's weakness.

He couldn't do anything that could cause an innocent person to be hurt, it was the weakness that Rito and Mikan knew about Naruto. They both knew that Naruto wasn't able to fight in a situation where his actions would cause somebody who wasn't involved to be injured.

"Rito, back the hell off! I've got this handled!" Naruto shouted at Rito.

Even as he took a crowbar to the side of his head, dazing him as his eyes became unfocused for a moment, but he pulled himself back together. He made eye contact with Rito, and his brother could see the fire in his eyes.

"We've got a grave with your name on it, more like it!"

*SMACK*

Naruto took a couple of steps backwards as blood splurted from his head, matching with the blood that was coming from bruises and cuts on his body. Naruto was dead serious though, and Rito froze and stepped back, nodding his head.

'... You better know what you're doing.'

'What is he doing... he can't believe he has this situation under control. If he acts, he thinks I will kill this girl. He isn't fast enough to run the distance between me and him, while dodging all three of those guys.' Zastin wanted to see where this went. That was a lot of confidence that Naruto spoke with, and for a guy who was taking a savage beating, the fact he wasn't flinching from it or shouting in pain was proof of a strong character.

This boy was stronger than the weak Earthlings around him, who would have either collapsed or taken a knee from the many blows to the head and chest.

Naruto's back bumped up against Zastin and the hostage after Naruto took a few more steps backwards, after getting a right hook to the cheek.

Zastin's eyes widened when he was smacked in the face with a crowbar, and he let go of the hostage from surprise. He looked at Naruto holding the crowbar, and he raised both of his arms up and became a human shield.

"Run." Naruto gave the girl a firm order.

She started to run, and Naruto used himself as a shield to make sure that she could get away without being captured again. Naruto tossed the crowbar to the ground, and he turned to face the thugs.

They stepped back.

"Sh-shit..." Thug 3 whispered in fear, realizing that Naruto had a very pissed look on his face. His blood soaked face was not one filled with mercy.

Naruto had taken a beating so that he could realistically make them drop their guard, and he could back up towards the hostage. Every punch, kick, and attack he had taken was for him to get closer to Zastin and make him release the hostage.

"That was an amazing display, what a plan, you... you saved the hostage. Did you know that girl personally?"

"Nope... you losers... run and never return... If I ever see you again-" Naruto didn't even get to finish before they started to run.

"It was the big guy's idea, this was all his fault, kill him, not us!"

They ran, and Naruto would normally chase them. He just turned around and faced Zastin, looking at the man, who now crossed his arms in front of his chest.

...

"Yes, this was all my plan. It was I, Zastin, who created this scheme. I am vastly stronger and superior to you, you have no chance of defeating me. Will you still engage me in one on one battle, despite how injured you are?" Zastin asked Naruto with a dead serious look on his stern face. He raised his fists up and prepared to fight Naruto.

Naruto was far too injured to do any fighting, that was why he pretended to be about to fight the thugs. Zastin could see that Naruto's body was barely standing, several minutes of a viscious beating would take the ability to fight out of anyone.

Naruto raised his fists up.

"... Yeah."

"Very well then, lets see just how worthy you are of Lala-sama!" Zastin was a swordsman, not a martial artist by nature, but he rushed towards Naruto and pulled his fist back. He would not disrespect this young man, not when he showed such an outstanding heroic spirit.

Zastin was FAR faster and stronger than even the strongest human.

Zastin tripped when Lala stuck her leg out in front of him.

Naruto was still standing in a fighting position, both of his fists raised up in the air. He wasn't trembling, his knees weren't shaking, and he wasn't hesitating even as blood dripped from his face. Lala walked over to Naruto with concern on her face, and she glared at Zastin.

"Zastin, you big jerk, what did you do to him! You're the strongest warrior other than Daddy, you can't fight Naruto seriously like this! Anyway, I love him and he's my fiance, so tell Daddy that." Lala puffed her chest out as she embraced Naruto. She looked into his eyes, and she saw a fierce fire burning in them.

Naruto gently pushed her off.

"Zastin, stand back up and fight me... I'm going to beat the shit out of you for what you did today... and you aren't taking Lala from me. I made a promise to her, to protect her, and I will do it... I don't need your approval." Naruto muttered as some of his thoughts started to get hazy. Naruto felt Lala grab ahold of him again when he legs tried to give out underneath him.

Lala smiled at him, but then she frowned in disapproval.

"It's okay Naruto, I'll protect you from Zastin, you don't need to-"

"Lala-sama, please don't dishonor this young... this man's warrior spirit. Clearly, he is a true man, even while he is so injured, he was willing to fight me for you. He's barely standing up on his own two feet, and all he wants to do is protect you." Zastin gently lectured Lala as he dusted himself off. His eyes had nothing but respect for the young man before him, the real man who understood what the warrior's spirit was all about.

Naruto collapsed into Lala and clung to her, his face between her breasts as one less injured arm wrapped around her shoulders.

"Lala... let go of me... I can still fight. I need to... ass his kick... kick his ass." Naruto had yet to stop bleeding, by the way, and he was bleeding quite a bit. The bleeding was slowing down to a non-lethal level, but overall Naruto was still not in a good condition. Naruto pushed himself off of Lala and rushed towards Zastin.

Zastin blocked the punch and lightly elbowed Naruto in the face, knocking him backwards.

"ZASTIN, I am TELLING-"

"You're still standing, while I held back, that was enough to knock out a grown man." Zastin had a growing smile on his face. He took a knee in front of Naruto, and put his forearm on his knee, and pushed his forehead into his arm. He took a noble bow before Naruto, while Lala caught Naruto when his legs gave out from underneath him.

Zastin noticed that Lala was in a school uniform, and he blinked at that for a moment, before he turned his attention back to Naruto. Naruto pushed himself off of Lala again, and he moved towards Zastin. It took Lala grabbing Naruto and holding him back physically to stop him, and Naruto looked back at Lala with one of his eyes starting to swell shut.

"Eh?"

"Naruto... Zastin, just tell Naruto what you decided."

"Naruto Uzumaki... I mean, Naruto-dono. You have a warrior's spirit greater than any other suitor that I have ever seen try to court Lala-sama. You have earned her favor, and you have earned my respect. I am Zastin, guardian of the royal family, I will report to Gid-sama that you are worthy of courting Lala-sama... you have my approval."

Naruto tried to attack Zastin.

"She's... not your property... you can't tell her, who she can love. She doesn't need your approval... to fall in love with who she wants. I don't care about any of your appro-" Naruto didn't finish his sentence.

He passed out cold in Lala's arms.

"Oh Naruto! I just love you this much more, you really do get me more than anyone else! See! See Zastin, this is the guy I picked! Oh... OH, Rito, we need to get him medical attention!" Lala called out to Rito, who started to run towards them.

"Lala! Let go of Naruto, he's... he's okay." Rito sighed in relief when he noticed that Naruto was smiling in his sleep.

Zastin only smiled in response to that.

A true warrior didn't fall until the battle was over, or he was dead.

This boy was different.

Note: Remember, everyone who saw this fight won't actually know that aliens exist yet, they just think some weird dude in costume attacked Naruto.
