Part 13: Confession and a new team

On air temple island Jak stood on one of the courtyards punching his fists forward and sending out blasts of fire. He then jumped kicking out a blast of air before landing on the ground and letting out a sigh, "So this is where you come to train," said Mako from behind him.

"Sorry I wasn't there to meet you at the dock," Jak said smiling, "The move go okay," he said as they walked around.

"Yeah, luckily the air acolytes were nice to help with Asami's stuff," said Mako, "How are you and Korra doing since the factory?" He asked.

"Well I'm fine, Ive been training more after what happened with the mecha tanks," Jak said looking annoyed remembering when Korra was knocked out.

"There's nothing you could have done, it was a trap," Mako said when Tenzin walked over.

"Sorry for interrupting you both but Jak the new chief of police is being sworn in and I thought you should be there," he said.

"Sure," Jak said as he waved goodbye to Mako as they went to find Korra. They learned from Ikki that she was in Asami's room, as they were heading to the door they heard Asami speak, "So why don't you tell him how you feel," she said.

"Well its not," Korra said before Tenzin knocked on the door, "Ikki I thought I told you to go," Korra said before Tenzin quickly opened the door making her look embarrassed and she then looked surprised noticing Jak was standing next to him, "Oh hey what's going on," she said smiling nervously.

A while later the three of them stood on the stage outside the police station, other officers and the new chief Saikon were standing at the podium, "I served along chief Beifong for a long time, I will do my best as the new chief as we wait for her recovery," Saikon said as the crowd cheered, "Since he has done everything to put a stop to the equalists, I will be reporting all of my finding to councilman Tarlok," he said pointing at Tarlok who smiled.

Tenzin, Korra and Jak exchanged looks of surprise. When the ceremony ended the three of them walked over to the council member, "Oh avatars Korra and Jak how lovely it is to see you both again," he said.

"Enough Tarlok, I don't know what you did to get the Saikon under you but I guess it wasn't anything good," Tenzin said looking serious.

"I don't know what you mean, everything I'm doing is to put a stop the equalist threat and now avatar Korra with your pro bending distraction over I hope you and Jak will do the right thing and re join the task force," he said.

"Yeah sorry but no," said Jak.

"Everything you're doing is just making everything worse, as the avatar," Korra said.

"But are you really the avatar, how is your air bending training going," Tarlok said smiling while Korra looked down, "Maybe your just a half baked avatar," he said before walking away while Jak looked annoyed.

They were flying back to air temple island on Oogie with Jak and Korra sitting at the back, "I don't get it, ive gotten every stance right and I followed what you do," Korra said pointing at Jak, "Yet I cant send out one blast of air, maybe Tarloks right and I'm just a half baked avatar," she said.

"Hey don't talk like that you're a great avatar," Jak said smiling, "Remember when we were kids, you were already punching out a fire while I was still only able to blast out smoke, Tarloks just annoyed he doesn't have us working with him," he said.

"Jaks right Korra, once you get past this air bending barrier everything will turn out fine, when Aang was in trouble he had the help of his past life's, have you ever been able to connect with them?" Tenzin asked.

"No didn't the white lotus tell you, both me and Jak are failures at it," she said still looking annoyed.

"Well what about visions, have you ever seen something you've mistaken for a dream," Tenzin said.

"Yeah actually I saw Aang one time," she said making them look surprised.

"You did?" Jak asked and she nodded her head.

"I didn't fully understand it, but it looks like he was in trouble," she said.

"He could be trying to help you, I suggest you meditate on this and Jak I suggest you help her," Tenzin said looking at Jak who nodded his head as they headed back to air temple island.

At night Jak was looking around the Island for Korra. He then found her sitting near a cliff side and he noticed tears coming out of her eyes, "Hey whats wrong?" He asked as he sat down next to her.

"I'm a failure, Tarlok was right about me, I cant even air bend like you and I lost at the factory," said Korra wiping her eyes. Jak quickly pulled her in for a hug.

"Don't say that stuff about yourself, your one of the most amazing person I know and I'm so glad I met you," he said before looking her in the eyes as he took a deep breath, "That's one of the reasons why I like you," he said making her look surprised.

"Wait you like me, then why have you been avoiding me during the pro bending matches?" She asked.

"I heard what you said to Mako and I couldn't handle it because of how I felt, I thought we were meant to be together given who we are and I didn't want that for you, I wanted you to have a choice and I just wanted you to be safe," he said with tears threatening to come out of his eyes.

"But I couldn't stop how I," he said before Korra interrupted him by kissing him on the lips. He looked surprised for a few moments before kissing her back and putting a hand on her cheek.

"About time," she said after pulling away and she laughed at the confused look on his face, "Ive liked you for a long time now and I only said that to Mako hoping you would say something, guess I kind of messed up on that," she said smiling nervously.

"No it's alright, I should have said something sooner too," he said as she held her hand. The two of them smiled and were about to kiss again when, "Sorry are we interrupting," Asami said.

The two avatars looked surprised as they turned around to see Asami and Mako who were smiling while Bolin who was holding Pabu looked surprised art the two of them, "Hey, how long have you all been standing there?" Korra asked.

"Long enough, you two don't have to do this alone," Asami said.

"Yeah I mean Aang was just a kid when he went up against the fire nation and he had his friends to back him up," said Mako.

"We may not be pro benders anymore but were still a team, the new team avatar or is it avatars now," Bolin said looking confused. Jak and Korra stood up.

"Team avatar sound just fine, lets do this," said Jak pointing his fist forward. Korra, Mako, Asami and Bolin did the same, all of them looking determined. After realizing Naga wouldn't be able to carry all of them Asami who was now wearing her own electric gloves, got a sato mobile.

She and Mako were sitting in the front while Jak, Korra and Bolin were sitting in the back. They were listen to a police radio as they drove through the city when they overheard a report about equalists escaping.

"There," Mako said pointing at the road ahead of them where they saw a truck and equalists on motor bikes drive by. Asami quickly turned the car as they chased after them. Jak and Mako shot lighting at two of the bikes taking them down. When they reached another turn a truck drove forward after the equalists got through.

"I'm going to need a ramp," Asami said. Korra and Bolin earth bended the ground in front of them and they jumped over the truck.

"Nice driving," Mako said smiling.

"Thanks," Asami said when one of the equalists threw back a small ball, before it exploded making a smoke cloud.

"I can barely see," said Bolin before Jak stood up and pushed his hands forward, sending out blast of air that cleared out the smoke, "Thanks," Bolin said before shooting a rock at one of the last two bike riders, making him fall off.

Korra sent a blasts of fire at the last bike rider before they drove back and jumped onto the sato mobile. Jak stopped him from reaching Korra and blocked his arm before Asami shocked his leg, making him fall down. They then pulled up next to the truck where Mako shot lighting at it, it shook on the road before crashing on its side.

After tying up the equalists reporters reached the area and began to take photos. Then Jak turned around when he heard sirens and looked to see two police vans. Tarlok walking out one of them and he didn't look happy.

"Evening Tarlok, we caught the equalists for you," Korra said.

"Avatar Jak and Korra, you and your friends have no right with interfering with official police business," Tarlok said.

"Well they were getting away and we stopped them," Korra said looking serious.

"Were going to keep protecting this city and you wont stop us," Jak said.

"I'm warning you both right now, stay out of my way," Tarlok said before walking away and getting back into the police truck and driving away. Korra and Jak watched him leave before they walked back to Mako, Asami and Bolin.
