Thank you so much Angels-heart1, Blondie 20000 and Leann Nickerson for your feedback! You are all awesome as Dean would say *wink*!
Sorry it's been a while for an update on this story. I had a hard time with this part because I went and re-watched Abandoned All Hope. Samantha Ferris and Alona Tal performances in that episode was so amazing (and causes me to ugly cry whenever I see it) that I just wanted to do the character's justice.
It was so hard to try and imagine what it would be like for Jo to be with this Ellen now. She's isn't the woman who raised her and in her head she knows this but no matter what they share the same blood and she needs that connection and so do Ellen and Bill. So I hope I capture just as little the very special relationship between Jo and Ellen here.
Thank you and enjoy...oh Author Note at bottom *smile*.
Chapter 24
Ellen and Bill gaped at the woman that was introduced to them as Jen. Slowly she held her arms out towards Bill. "Please, she's scared," Jo said as Ami cried.
"Granddaughter," Ellen repeated as she looked at the infant in her husband's arms and frown. Freckles…her Jo didn't have freckles on her nose like those.
"What the Hell is going on here!" Bill demanded.
"Why don't we all sit down," John suggested before adding. "And maybe put the gun away too."
"Please," Jo begged again as she took a tentative step towards her father's doppelgänger. She sighed as Bill gently passed the child too her. She let out a shaky breath as she cradled her daughter and murmured, "it's okay, Mama's got you."
"Explain now," Bill said as Ellen lowered her gun.
"This is why this was a bad idea," Castiel said.
"Yes, we know. You told us so." Dean replied with an eye roll.
"Let me nurse Ami and then I'll explain everything." Jo said as she looked at her Mom's doppelgänger.
Ellen nodded her head, "there's a room…"
"Ash's room, I know." Jo said as she reached down for the diaper bag.
"How…" Bill started to ask how this woman knew about the boy Ellen and he had raised after his parents were killed by a chupacabra. He could see by the looks on the other three hunters faces they were just as surprised.
"I swear I'll tell you me get my daughter settled." Jo swore as she headed towards the living quarters as if she had been there a million times before.
Dean looked at their friends and sighed. Of course everything went sideways…it's just the Winchester way.

Ellen and Bill sat stunned as Jo finished telling them cleared her throat as she said, "let me see if I have this dimensions are 're saying that in yours not only did our daughter not get killed in that car accident but that your father died while on a hunt with that your Ellen never knew the boys until after their father died when he made a deal with that bastard Azazel for his Dean's eventually your Ellen and you started hunting together and both died helping the others stop Lucifer…oh and then some crazy Egyptian Pharaoh/God pulled you out of Heaven when your Dean's life was on trial and that when that Sam killed him you were left on earth until the archangel Michael from yet another dimension while walking around in your Dean's meat suit found you and used his control to trick you both into making his next vessel…oh and he pulled the archangel Gabriel from Purgatory to help control you but he double crossed his brother and brought you to this world instead where you lived with John and the boys for almost four months believing you were Dean's wife and then around three months ago when all of a sudden we were all in the middle of a supernatural shit storm thanks to your Dean and Sam battle with God…Gabriel pulled you out of here and brought you back to your world because it was actually safer than there. Did I get that all straight?" Ellen asked.
The six visitors all exchanged looks as they all nodded their heads and six voices spoke at once.
"Yes," said Jo.
"Pretty much," agreed Jody
"Sounds about right," quipped Dean.
"Your summary is correct," Castiel replied.
"Yes Ma'am," Sam said.
"That's the bulk of it," John told his friend.
"Well that isn't really everything," Bill said. "You didn't tell us why you would even agree to do this?" He said to the John and his sons.
"I asked them to go along with it," Dean explained."Lisa's son Ben…he was sick…he was dying. Gabriel agreed to heal him if I went along and pretended to be Jo's Dean from her dimension."
Ellen's face softened, "we didn't know, why didn't you tell us Ben was sick."
Dean shrugged his shoulders, "it was too painful but he's better now and that's all that matters."
Bill nodded his head as he reached out and put his hand on Dean's shoulder." We understand. We would have done anything for our Jo."
Jo watched the couple before her and felt their overwhelming sense of sorrow. "I'm so sorry. It was selfish of me to do this…to make you relive your pain and sorrow by coming here." She cried before she stood up and cradled Ami close to her as she hurried out of the bar back into the mid afternoon sun.
Jody stood up to rush after Jo but stopped when Ellen reached over and place a hand on her shoulder. "Let me," she said.
Jody smiled as she nodded her head. "Of course."

Jo sat on the back porch smile sadly to herself, so many things were the same here as in her this swing, her Dad had added a back porch and swing back while her Mom was pregnant with her. She remember her Mom telling her that Caleb and Bucky had helped him with that home improvement project.
She shushed her daughter who was fussing."I know, I know." She murmured as gently rocked her daughter. She rested her cheek on Ami's head before she began singing in a soft voice.
"Oh lord won't you buy me a Mercedes Benz.
My friends all drive Porsches, I must make amends.
Worked hard all my lifetime, no help from my friends. So oh lord won't you buy me a Mercedes Benz."
She looked up when she heard the door opened and Ellen joined her on the porch. "I used to sing that to my Jo."
Jo smiled, "my Mom and I use to always sing Janis Joplin's songs together while we were in the car."
The older woman smiled at that as she sat next to Jo before she began singing.
"Oh lord won't you buy me a color TV.
Dialing for dollars is trying to find me.
I wait for delivery each day until 3.
So oh lord won't you buy me a color TV."
Jo grinned when Ellen pointed to her and she sang the next verse.
"Oh lord won't you buy me a night on the town.
I'm counting on you lord, please don't let me down.
Prove that you love me and buy the next round.
Oh lord won't you buy me a night on the town."
Both women looked at each other and nodded their heads as they both sang the last verse together.
"Oh lord won't you buy me a Mercedes Benz
My friends all drive Porsches, I must make amends.
Worked hard all my lifetime, no help from my friends. So oh lord won't you buy me a Mercedeeeees Benddddddd."
Jo looked down when she realized her daughter was staring up at her. "Hey you, that was a little bit livelier than I usually sing it huh." She said with a chuckle as she watched Ami yawned.
"She's so beautiful, she looks just like you…I mean my Jo at that age." Ellen murmured as she lifted Ami's tiny hand and gave it a tiny kiss.
Jo looked over at the woman sitting next to her and gave her an apologetic smile. "I never should have thought I could trick you. I never got away with anything with my Mom either."
Ellen cocked her eyebrow at that and asked gently, "did you really think you were going to pull a fast one or where you secretly wishing to get caught?"
Jo chewed on her lower lip as she ducked her head slightly. "I'm so sorry, I just miss my Mom so much…I was dying and she chose to die with me so that I wouldn't be alone…I loved her so much and I just needed to see you." she cried.
Ellen nodded her head as reached up and wiped away her tears." I think you can understand how she felt…how I felt about my Jo." She said as she looked down at Ami.
"God yes," Jo admitted." I would lay my life down for her without hesitation. "The women sat in silence while Jo rocked Ami. "I'm sorry, I was so wrapped up in how I felt that I didn't take into consideration how painful this would be for you and Dadd…Bill." Jo said softly.
"Stop," Ellen told Jo. "Is this hard for us…of course it is but…oh don't you see. You've given us a chance to see what our Jo would have looked like as a woman…what our grandchild would look like. As painful as this maybe it's still the most amazing gift we could have ever ask for."
Jo sighed as she gave the other woman a watery smile. "Thank you for saying that but it was still wrong of me to do this. I've given you a glimpse of what may have been and I'm going to take it away from you both." She said sadly.
"I would take five minutes with you and this little girl over a lifetime of wondering about the woman our daughter would have become," came a voice from the doorway. Jo looked up at the man who in her world died when she was eight.
"I couldn't say it better myself," Ellen said in agreement before adding, "now you said you have almost 36 hours before you need head back to the Lawrence. I say we don't open the bar and have an old fashion family visit."
Jo looked down at her daughter before looking up at the couple and smiled, "I would like that too."

The next 36 hours were fill with lots of laughter and tears. The others watched as Jo said goodbye to her parents. Jody couldn't help crying when she saw the other two women breakdown as they clung to each other while Bill didn't even try to stop his own tears as he held his granddaughter one last time.
Jo pulled away from her Mom(she knew technically that these weren't her parents that raised her but they were her blood) and turned to her father. "Daddy," she cried as he passed Ami to his wife and pulled Jo in for a tight hug.
John ducked his head as he tried to get his own emotions in check because much too soon he was gonna have to say goodbye to the woman he consider a daughter and his granddaughter.
"Joanna, we should start back, the portal will open in ten hours.." Castiel reminded her.
Jo wipe away her tears as she nodded her head, unable to speak. She looked up as Ellen passed her her Ami and sobbed when Ellen and Bill enveloped her and Ami in a family hug.
Dean sighed as he stepped forward, "come on Sweetheart," he said softly as he placed his hand on Jo's shoulder.
She slowly pulled away from her parents and let Dean guide her towards the others. Jo looked up when she felt Jody slip her hand into her free hand and give it a reassuring squeeze.
"You take care of yourself and our grandbaby," Bill said as he wrapped an arm around his wife.
"I will," Jo promised. "You stay safe."
"We will," Ellen told her as she wiped at her tears.
Ellen and Bill watched as the group split up and get into the cars to head back to Kansas. Ellen didn't know how long they watched the cars driving away. Neither moved until both cars were no longer visible.
Sighing Bill leaned down and kissed his wife's temple. "You alright?"
"No," Ellen said as she turned so that she could look up into his eyes before adding, "but I will be."

Bill and Ellen looked up when the Roadhouse door opened an hour later and Ash sauntered in, duffel slung across his shoulder. "Hey Harvelles, I'm back. Anything exciting happened here while I was gone?"
SPNSPNSPN
Ash sat shocked as the couple across from him finished telling him about the past 36 hours. "So angels are real, God is real and goes by the name Chuck, alternative dimensions are real and in another one of these dimensions their Jo is alive and had that Dean's baby. Holy crap on a cracker."
"Pretty much our reaction at first too," Bill said.
Ellen pulled out her cellphone and tapped on the photos app and handed the phone to Ash who grinned as he began scrolling through the pictures.
"Damn she's a hot," the younger hunter said. He whimpered slightly when Bill slapped him upside the head. "Sorry I mean she's a lovely young woman." He added with a smile.
Ash continued to go through the photos and just couldn't believe what he was seeing. There were quite a few of Jo, Ellen and Bill together. Sometimes Bill was holding their granddaughter Ami but most of them Ellen was cradling the infant.
He laughed when he clicked on one of the videos and watched big bad John Winchester feeding the baby a bottle and cooing at the little girl.
Finally when he was done he turned his attention back to Bill and Ellen. "Okay I have one question for you both. You've been given this amazing gift so why the hell are you both sitting here instead of getting in your damn car and heading to Kansas to hitch a ride with your daughter and granddaughter to their dimension and help kick Chuck in the cojones?"
Bill and Ellen exchanged a quick glance at each other, a slow smile crept across both their faces. Ellen turned back towards Ash, "make it the three of us because I like our chances better with a bona-fide genius in our camp."
Ash cocked his eyebrow at Ellen, "well I guess I should grab my laptop and we should get ready to haul ass since they have over two hours on us." He said as he got up and headed towards his room to grab a few other items he thought might be of help.
Bill reached out and grasped his wife's hand. "Are you sure? "She's not our Jo."
"No matter what she and Amelia are our blood…our family. They're in the fight of their lives to stop God. They can use all the help they can get. So I'm more than sure." She told him.
"That's all I needed to hear. That portal will be opening in eight hours so we need to get going. I'll grab our gear and the money while you grab some clothes and we'll meet at the car in twenty." He said as he leaned over and gave her a kiss before standing up and headed towards the back.
Ellen smiled to herself when she heard her husband bang on Ash's door and shout, "twenty minutes!" to the younger man. She quickly got up and headed towards the back stairs to pack up their lives in two duffels.
