Hi everyone! I'm finally on break! I know you guys waited so long, but now I'm done for the semester and must move on to the next semester before winter break is over! Now then, it looks like Amane has been introduced and is officially Yugi and Ryou's little sister. Plus, the girls and Malik are already in love with her cuteness.
However, a fun day at the beach turned into a nightmare when they stumbled upon their counterparts and their friends. Lets see how they'll avoid this predicament.
No one uttered a word, astonishment still etched on their faces as they looked back between Prince Henry and Sir Bakura along with their counterparts. Tea is surprised that Joey's and Tristan's description of the prince's look-alike is true. He really did look like the prince, except for the eye color, height, hair color, and outfits. Though what's more surprising is seeing someone who resembles Bakura.
While Sir Bakura J. Mortimer has harsher features, his counterpart has a gentler appearance. Even the little girl resembles her brother. But Tea didn't pay attention to it any longer, as her eyes continued to stare at the person who resembles her lord.
As for the others, Yami and Bakura were busy glaring at Malik while also keeping an eye on their counterparts. Bakura couldn't believe that he has a look-alike just like the prince did, and he's certain he doesn't have any siblings or relatives who resemble him. Scanning him from head to toe, he noticed his counterpart's eyes were a soft, brown color, reminding him of a little doe.
Where had he seen those eyes before?
Before he could open his mouth, Yami beat him to it. "Malik-
"Permission to speak, your majesty!" Malik got in front of Yugi and Ryou, spreading his arms out to shield them.
Yami frowned at the interruption, but nodded his head. "Permission granted, but it better be a good explanation."
"T-Thank you!" Malik bowed his head and cleared his throat, maintaining eye contact with him. "T-These two boys are harmless, and they are not the enemy. They both hail from another kingdom, training to become a knight and healer for their ruler. You mustn't go near them, for doing that will cause a possible war between Lancaster and their kingdom."
"Pray tell which kingdom they are from?" Bakura questioned, his eyes never leaving Ryou's. "And what are their names?"
Malik gulped, and shook his head. "I do not know, Sir Mortimer. They are not comfortable revealing the name of their kingdom, and they refuse to tell me their names."
Yami folded his arms, his eyes flickering between Malik's to Yugi's. "Then what about the name of their queen? I recall my counterpart mentioning about being her loyal knight."
Yugi stopped himself from flinching, remembering Henry's interrogation on him. Ryou's brown eyes hardened as he glared at Yami. "Only because you touched my brother! He told me what you did to him, and I say, you're more of a pervert than a prince!"
The atmosphere suddenly felt tense, and not a sound had been made. Tea's eyes widened in disbelief as she gazed at the prince. Bakura's look-alike must be lying. There's no way her lord would do something perverted towards someone, especially towards another male.
She looked back at Ryou. "You're wrong! The lord would never do something vile like that! There must be a misunderstanding!"
"Yeah! Plus, he's too busy focusing on stopping the war and keeping everyone safe! You obviously got the wrong person!" Joey chimed in.
Tristan nodded. "Whatever our prince did to make your brother feel that way, then I'm sure there's a misunderstanding here. The lord would never lay a hand on someone. He's a good man."
Bakura snorted. "Besides having a small temper, him being a pervert would be something I need to see in order to believe it."
Yugi could feel his cheeks heating up, embarrassed that his brother blurted something like that to everyone, and called Prince Henry a pervert. Now it'll be impossible to make a distraction, since the prince is glaring daggers at Ryou and at Malik. Ryou isn't even fazed by Henry's anger, and is busy keeping Amane behind him.
Yami placed his hand up, preventing the others from speaking again. He noticed the animals and little girl were feeling frightened, and kept his aura at bay so they wouldn't get scared. He's still mad at being called a pervert by his counterpart's brother, and also at Malik for helping his counterpart escape and not informing him of his whereabouts. His sister will definitely be informed of her younger brother's disloyalty to the Lancaster Kingdom.
He looked back at his look-alike, gazing into his amethyst colored eyes. "Tell me your name, little one."
Yugi shook his head. "I cannot give you my name."
"And why not?"
"I am loyal to my kingdom, and I cannot reveal my identity to anyone, especially you. I am sorry, but please let my family and I go home since it's getting late."
"Is it wise to disobey the command of a prince?"
"I serve my queen, not you."
"True, but you are in my kingdom. Therefore, you must be respectful towards my people and me," Yami gestured to the whole beach, including the village next to it. "So you must do as you are told and reveal to me your name."
"Why are you so fixated on knowing who I am? What did I do to gain your attention?" Yugi questioned.
Yami blinked, and then chuckled as his lips stretched into a small smirk. "Besides our similarities, its obvious you've heard of me from somewhere." His eyes lingered on the scabbard hanging at Yugi's waist. "I'm also curious about your sword."
Yugi placed his hand on the hilt, glaring at him. "My master gave this sword to me before he went to heaven. That's all I can tell you."
"How about a one-on-one duel?"
"I beg your pardon?"
Malik paled. "Y-You mean a duel between your monsters?"
Yami pulled his sword out from his own scabbard, holding it in front of him. "A sword duel. Since he is a knight, he must be skilled in using a sword, correct?"
Ryou's eyes widened a bit, and paled as he looked at Yugi. Yugi is skilled with a sword, and was able to defeat many of his opponents. However, he hasn't completed his mastery exam yet, and is unable to defeat Sir Galahad in a sword duel. The prince looks confident in his skills, but how strong is he?
"If I accept this duel, will you leave us alone?"
Ryou gaped in shock, and hissed in his ear. "Do not accept this duel! You haven't completed the mastery exams, and we do not know how strong the prince is! He could injure you, or possibly kill you!"
Yugi ignored his words, and continued to look at Yami. "All I have to do is duel you with our swords, correct? You will leave my friends and family alone, and no longer bother us?"
Yami smirked, and placed his sword back in his scabbard. "Only if you can defeat me. If you win, I'll no longer ask for your name and stop bothering you."
"And if I lose?"
"Not only do you have to reveal your name to me along with the name of your kingdom, you must tell me why you came to Lancaster. It must be the entire truth."
"Then no deal. We're leaving right now."
Placing Snowflake on his shoulders, he ushered Ryou, Amane, Thumper, and Malik to follow him as he spun around and walked away. However, something blocked his path in front of him. Looking up, he realized it was one of Yami's duel monsters whom he remembered seeing the other day. Yugi turned his head and glared at Yami. "You summoned your Celtic Guardian to prevent us from leaving? That's a dirty trick, rose prince."
Yami quirked his eyebrow. "How did you know the name of my monster? I don't remember telling you about Celtic Guardian."
"And I refused to duel you. Don't you have any honor at all?"
"Careful. Insulting a prince would mean punishment for you."
"Then so be it."
Fishing his card out from his pocket, he held it in his hand as it started to glow. "I summon Silent Swordsman Level 7!"
Appearing above him, Silent Swordsman grunted while holding its giant sword. Yugi pointed at the ground. "Silent Swordsman, use your Silent Slash on the sand immediately!"
Obeying his orders, Silent Swordsman's sword glowed brightly and launched an attack at the ground, causing the whole area to be covered in dust and sand. Everyone covered their faces to avoid getting hit by the dust. As they felt the dust leaving, they uncovered their faces and realized Yugi, Ryou, Malik, Amane, and their pets were no longer there.
"Hoy moly! They used a dirty trick on us!" Joey exclaimed.
"It must've been a trap to make us think he would fight against Celtic Guardian," Tristan said.
"My lord. Sir Bakura. You two aren't hurt, are you?" Tea asked while checking over them.
"We are fine, Lady Tea," Yami reassured her, and then frowned while looking around. "I should've known he would use a trick like this. Though I had no idea he would summon one of his monsters to help him escape from us. A clever plan he made to deceive us."
Bakura chuckled, and wiped the sand off his armor. "Now I'm more curious of my look-alike. It's the first time I've met someone who would insult the prince and call him a pervert. He has more guts than anyone in this village."
Yami glared at him. "Ignoring that, we failed in capturing them! Malik has betrayed my trust and is on their side. I must inform the guards and everyone in the kingdom to keep an eye out for Malik and our counterparts." He gazed at the spot where they disappeared. "They are now wanted in the kingdom, and must be brought to me alive!"
He brought his card out, causing Celtic Guardian to return back to its card. Placing it back in his pocket, he turned around to look at his friends. "Let us return back to our kingdom. Tomorrow, we will continue to discuss on finding the remaining White Rose cards and then figure out a way to help us find the Rose Duelist."
Tea bit her bottom lip, looking at him with a worried look. "My lord, what would happen if we do encounter Malik, your counterpart, and his brother? I don't want to separate Amane and her pets from her family."
Yami sighs. "We'll discuss it tomorrow. For now, let us return home and get some rest. We don't want to be late before the moon rises."
Realizing the conversation must end, she meekly bowed as she and the rest of the boys walked back home. Placing a hand on her necklace, she hoped and prayed that they wouldn't encounter Amane or her brothers. Right now, they are not safe in the kingdom and must be careful of them or anyone who is a member of the Red Roses. Tomorrow, they will be considered wanted in the kingdom.
"We cannot stay here."
Ryou looked up from his seat, as he finished tucking Amane in her bed, who fell asleep with Snowflake and Thumper cuddled against her. "Because they saw us?"
Yugi gazed through the glass window, seeing the stars and crescent moon glittering the night sky. "They even saw Amane, our pets, and Malik. We're not safe here."
Malik sighed, and sat up from the chaise he was resting on. "Its my fault. I shouldn't have suggested we go to the beach. If it wasn't for my idea, we wouldn't have gotten discovered by them."
"Malik, it wasn't your fault. None of us knew we would cross paths with them."
"But because of me, I placed your little sister and pets in danger. The prince and his members saw you all, and it's a matter of time before they decided to make you both wanted in the kingdom."
"Which is why we must leave at dawn," Yugi glanced at them. "We'll inform Rebecca and her grandfather that we're leaving, but won't tell them where we're going. We mustn't put them in danger because of us."
"But where will we go? And we still need to make the spell to get us all back home," Ryou said, and stroked Amane's hair.
"The Forest of Grimshaw."
"Too risky," Malik shook his head. "They'll try to search for us there along with the Forest of Bowland."
"They won't find us in Grimshaw. Since the rumors of the forest being haunted is considered true to Lancaster, they won't risk going there," Yugi said. "We can't contact Mako, since Rebecca will know and would try to get us to tell her where we're going."
"We also gotta avoid Melody since she'll blab to Rebecca if she saw us leave," Ryou replied.
"Plus, I don't want to cross paths with my sister once she hears I helped Henry's prisoner escape from the castle," Malik added. "Nor with anyone from the Kingdom of York."
"If not the forest, then we can hide in Newcastle," Yugi suggested.
"But how do we get there?" Ryou asked.
"I did remember seeing some boats near the beach. We could try to sneak inside there," Malik said. "But we'll have to stay hidden though. We don't want anyone to know who we are."
"If we do cross paths with a Rose Duelist, then we'll have to defeat them in a duel and obtain a Rose Card," Yugi fished out a White Rose card from his pocket and gazed at it. "I have a feeling they'll help us return back to the 15th century."
"Hopefully, they can," Ryou yawned. "Lets get some rest now, you two. We need to gain more energy in the morning."
"And hopefully, your friend won't spot us sneaking out," Malik said.
"Agreed," Yugi went to the bed, carefully getting under the covers while Ryou did the same since Amane and their pets are sleeping on the middle of the bed. "Will you be fine over there, Malik?"
His only answer was a snore, indicating he was asleep. He shook his head while smiling and laid on his side, stroking Snowflake's fur who purred in her sleep. Besides hiding, he'll have to think of another plan on getting his and Ryou's pendants back from Yami and Bakura. For now, they'll need to lay low for a while.
The next day
They could feel the atmosphere weighing down on them, even though there was no one around them. Besides the low fog nearly covering the village, the place gave them goosebumps. Ryou kept a firm grip on Amane's hand as she stayed close to his side. Thumper rested on his shoulder, while Snowflake is resting on Yugi's shoulders.
Yugi stayed close to his brother, while Malik scanned the area. He frowned, and looked again. "I don't remember Newcastle being so spooky. Its usually lively here, but this place feels like a ghost town. Where is everyone?"
Amane's whimpers caused Ryou to stroke her head, as she hid her face onto his cloak. "D-Dark labyrinth…"
"Dark labyrinth?" Yugi asked in a gentle voice. "What do you mean by that, Amane?"
Malik's eyebrows furrowed in confusion, then realization dawned on him as he quickly scanned the area. "I-I think we walked into a trap."
Before Yugi could ask why, his ears picked up on footsteps. Placing his hand on the hilt of his sword, his eyes scanned the area. The fog made it impossible to see whom it could be, but he could tell it's a person. Hearing the footsteps get louder, he spun around to see the fog moving away to reveal a tall man wearing white. He had no hair, and there was a marking on his forehead. His appearance indicated he wasn't friendly, and Yugi is certain they stumbled upon an enemy.
The man glanced at them, and then spoke in a rough voice. "What brings you to this northernmost region? Lost?"
Hearing no answer, he continued to speak. "If you want some directions, you'll have to beat me first!"
Seeing him unleash a monster from his card, Yugi got his card out and unleashed his monster. "Silent Magician Level 8, please aide me!"
Appearing in front of him, Silent Magician held her scepter in battle position while gazing at her opponent. Yugi placed his arm out to the side to shield Ryou and Malik. "Ryou. Malik. Stay behind me and keep Amane safe. I'll battle him."
"Be careful, Yugi. He is known as the Labyrinth Ruler, who uses a spell card known as 'Labyrinth Wall' to confuse his opponents, and prevent strong monsters from reaching his Deck leader," Malik explained. "He is also a member of the White Roses, so be careful."
"I will," Yugi said, as he saw his opponent ordering his monster to attack. "Silent Magician attack! Silent Burning Attack!"
