A/N: Hey guys, sorry this is so late. I wanted to post this last night but it was almost 11:30 and I had an important test this morning so... yeah. Honestly I probably would have gotten this out earlier if not for... things with my new story I started posting. Hopefully it's nothing to worry about. Hopefully.
Anyway, Review replies!
xxXTryMeXxx: Thank you! Action has really never been my strong suit, and I may or may not have used DnD dice to determine half of the things that happened in the battles, but I'm glad you thought I did well. I'm also really happy you liked Ronin popping in (it was hard, but kinda fun too!) Sorry it took so long to update, things have been hectic with life and stuff, and honestly today's just been even worse... but hopefully it will get better!
Kessie-Louise: I did feel a bit better once I got my mind focused on other things, although I wasn't exactly able to leave or take a nap because it was right before a play so y'know. Luckily, now breathing in a mask is easy! I'm glad you enjoyed Ronin, I was a little worried about him telling a secondhand experience like that, but it sounds like you thought it turned out okay! They're definitely a bit more shady than Ronin, but Ronin prides himself on his shadiness so he refuses to acknowledge that fact.
Finally, we can get out of the crappy perspective and get back to my perspective.
(Yeah, I killed a lot of people getting to that room. After removing a bullet from my own leg. Don't like it? Fight me, I dare you.)
With all immediate threats neutralized, I immediately turned to my poor niece, who was huddled in the corner crying. "Hey, Kya, It's okay. Uncle Ronin's here." I bent down in front of her, trying to block her view of the bodies.
She glanced at me, probably barely able to see me through her tears. "Un-ckle?" Her shoulders relaxed slightly as she threw herself out of her corner and into my arms. "Uncle Rona! I was so scared! Where were you? Where's Mommy?!"
Jay chuckled behind me. "Uncle 'Rona'." I presume the other ninja shot him a glare, since he added, "What? It's funny. 'Rona' sounds like a girls' name!"
"Or a disease."
He quieted at the master of Earth's comment. "Okay, yeah, that too."
I promptly began to ignore them as the two managed to get into an argument over whether 'Rona' was a girl's name or the name of a disease. Instead, I focused on the shaking child in my arms. "I was a bit… busy, but I'm here now. How about we go find Mommy?"
"Okay. I was scared."
"I know." And if she had fully understood the situation, she probably would have been utterly terrified. "But you were a big girl, and handled it very well."
"I did?" Tiny sparkles lit up her huge, tear-stained eyes.
I nodded, allowing a gentle smile to spread across my face. "You were very brave. Now, let's get you home."
And we all left the place, and lived happily ever after.
"Uncle! You skipped one of the best parts!"
Ronin chuckled a bit. "Okay, what did I miss?"
"The part where we got back to Mom, and we all hugged, and Mommy kinda got mad at you, but everything was okay. And then you and her talked to the Ninja, and then we got to hang out a few times when Mom was out at work." She folded her arms slightly. "You forgot when Kai set his Uno cards on fire."
A thoughtful frown settled as he raised an eyebrow. "I wasn't there, remember? Maybe some other time you're going to have to tell me about your adventures with the ninja."
She nodded eagerly. "When do you think I'll see them again?"
Ronin's mind raced through the recent events, the ninja beginning the search for their missing mentor. "Oh, I'm sure it won't be too long." Ruffling her hair slightly, he stood. "Anyway, you need to get some sleep. Your Mom will be home soon."
She sat up. "Uncle Rona! What about those words you were going to say? The 'swearing' ones?"
He turned to face her fully. "Well, since you're seven I'm sure you're old enough. The first one was-"
The front door creaked open, cutting him off.
"Well, that's probably your mother. I'll tell you some other time, okay?"
"Okay, bye Uncle!"
A/N: Well, that's that. (Ronin, you sure that story is a good bedtime story?) If you guys want more I have a bit more planned for Kya, starting with Ninja Babysitting Oneshots. If you're interested, I can start posting those. If not, I'll probably post them eventually - just take a lot more time to do so since it will be really low priority.
Big thank you to my best friend, NinjagoGeek4EVER, for getting me into the world of Fanfiction and onto FFN here (and for a LOT of help with my fics). Thank you to both xxXTryMeXxx and Kessie-Louise for reviewing and making my day! Hopefully see you all again soon!
