So here we are with the third and final part of the Christmas special of Teen Titans Phosphophyllite Chronicles. While it is not the holidays we wanted due to current circumstances, at least I was able to get this story up and running for Christmas. And while I have to deal with certain things like many other stories and the occasional recent events, at least I could take care of the story and this episode. I just hope what I worked on would be impressive, even if it's from a Batman Brave and Bold episode. Anyways, let's get back to the final part of the episode.
Time is running out as Christmas Day is fast approaching. They need to stop Funhouse before his final hurrah begins. Will they be able to stop him before its too late? This would start to become more of a Christmas Miracle.
Chapter Notes
Just as before, the final part is from the final part is from the Christmas Special of Brave and the Bold Batman show, but I'm going to add a few things here and there to help extend it before the final fight. I know it might be a bit iffy, but when you think about it, the idea of Funhouse taking on the Titans is the most interesting out there. Besides, I want to make sure that this episode has the Christmas vibe to it. Let's see if this final part can make it something.

Episode Nine: A Phosphophyllite Christmas (Part 3)
It was night time in Jump and Christmas Day is fast approaching. But it's not because of festivities or opening presents in Christmas Morning, it's stopping a maniacal jester from ruining this special holiday. All around town, the Titans have been searching high and low, through the streets and in the air to find Funhouse and stop him from initiating his master plan. But no matter where they go, no sign of Funhouse or any type of evidence. They all soon return to the town square where they faced the robotic Santas, wanting to figure out their next move.
Robin: "Well…? You guys found anything?"
They all looked to each other and didn't know how to respond. So they told him the best that they could.
Starfire: "Sadly, no. We searched all of Jump City and we have not located Funhouse, or anything that involves his vicious schemes."
Cyborg: "Yeah… We search through every street and alleyway and haven't found any sign of his hideout or any clue on what his ultimate plan is."
Raven: "Even in the air, there wasn't any evidence around."
Beast Boy: "Long story short, we screwed up completely."
Robin heard their grief and knew this wasn't getting them anywhere.
Robin: "I see… Looks like we are at a lost. And it's getting awfully close to Christmas. If we don't find Funhouse in time, tomorrow is not going to end well."
It was then that Phos didn't want to give up and still want to try.
Phos: "But we can't give up! Not now! Tomorrow is a special occasion for everyone! It's going to be Starfire's first Christmas! It's going to be my first Christmas! We must find Funhouse now and stop him before it's ruined for everyone. There's got to be something that can lead him to us. A clue, a sign, anything!"
The others could see the gem trying to not give up and was surprised that they would be this serious.
Beast Boy: "Wow… Who would've thought that Phos would be willing to save Christmas."
Star turned to the changeling and explained why the gem wanted to stop Funhouse.
Starfire: "You cannot blame them. Phos wanted to experience this Christmas for the first time. The same can be said with me. We both don't want our first Christmas be destroyed by this maniacal jester."
Robin could understand the two's concern and told them that they can handle it.
Robin: "I get you guys want to stop him before Christmas, but we don't know where to start. Funhouse isn't the type of villain that likes to make an appearance on a whim. He's more into theatrics and would make a huge enough entrance. Unless there is a bit of evidence on what he's planning, I'm afraid the only option we have is to wait it out until the morning and be prepared for his arrival to stop him."
The group heard him and got the message. With no way in finding him, they can only wait until Christmas morning for his arrival and plan. Suddenly, Starfire heard a child crying and looked behind her. Turning around, she could see a little boy crying with his father. Most likely, it has to be the pieces of those Santa robots Funhouse used to attack people. Seeing the situation, she approached him and asked him if he's all right.
Starfire: "What is wrong little one? Did the false Santa Claus machines frightened you?"
The father looked to the alien and told her that it wasn't the case.
"Nah… He knew they were fakes. He's only crying 'cause he wants this Playpal action figure. It's the most popular toy for Christmas. Every kid in this city has to have one."
He turned to the see a poster of this strange toy with red, black, and yellow armor with the title, 'Presto Playpal: Sold Here'. Robin looked at the poster and finds it awfully suspicious, especially with the logo next to it. He soon approached the poster to inspect it while the father explained about the toy.
"Funny thing is that this toy came a few days before Christmas, and near the end of rush hour. Hard to get around here considering that every toy store has them off the shelves the moment they open. I can only imagine the kids who don't got it and will be extremely upset come Christmas Morning."
Robin soon starred at the poster and the logo on it. Starring at it, he started to put the pieces together.
Robin: "Hold on… That logo… That's it! Titans, look at the this."
The group heard him and was a little confused at what he was seeing. That's when they approached him and he told them to look at the logo.
Robin: "Check it out. Does that logo remind of you something?"
They soon looked at what the leader is seeing and realized something. The logo is that of the jester that looks identically familiar with Funhouse. The same logo that was on the UFOs earlier in the night and the knockoff Santa Claus's. That's when they all put the pieces together.
Cyborg: "You're right… It does! It's the same logo that was on the UFOs and those Santa robots."
BB soon started to put the pieces together and started to understand what is really going on.
Beast Boy: "So, hold up. If Funhouse created those alien ships and Santas, then that means…"
Robin soon got serious and finished what he was saying.
Robin: "Funhouse made the Presto Playpals! Of course! That's his game. Funhouse used those UFOs and Santas as a way to distract us while he distributes all the toys before Christmas. And to think it leads to us finding his logo on this advertisement. Our only option left is to find out where the deliveries are from and head down there to put a stop to it once and for all."
The telepath soon approached him and was unsure of it.
Raven: "Even if we find these deliveries, there's no telling where they are. The last minute of Christmas shopping is over and the trucks are done with the shipments. There's no way we are going to find one of those trucks out there, or the person driving it."
Phos heard that and decided to let them in on something. Rubbing the back of their head, they told the team a bit sheepishly.
Phos: "Actually… I know someone who might help us."
The group turned to them as Robin approached the gem and asked on where to find the driver.
Robin: "Where…?"
Minutes later, the night was slowing down as mostly everyone was starting to go to sleep to be ready for a special day tomorrow. Down the street, a truck with the Presto Playpal picture on it was leaving after a night of deliveries. Inside, the truck driver was relived and was done with all of his deliveries.
"Boy… What a day… I never thought everyone in this city would be gunning for these action figures. Still, I had to deliver and all the products have been taken care of."
He soon looked to the passenger seat and there's one Presto Playpal action figure in the plastic display case. He smirked and was glad he was able to keep one.
"Except for you of course. I promise my kid I bring one of you guys for Christmas, and that's just what I'm going to do. He's going to love you when he open you up, that's for sure."
He quickly looked back to the road, hoping not to loose it. But when he looked back to the road, he could see the Titans blocking his path with Robin with his hand up.
Robin: "Stop!"
The driver responded in surprise and put on the breaks. The tires screeched and the truck came to a halt. Once he did that, he parked and got out of the truck, looking at the team with a bit of confusion. But he's a kind man and try to be positive during this festive time.
"Good evening Titans, and Merry Christmas. What can I do ya for. If you're looking for any Presto Playpal toys, I'm afraid I can't help you and I'm all empty."
That's when Phos came in and asked if he remembered them.
Phos: "Do you know who I am?"
The driver looked to the gem and remembered them.
"Of course I do. You're that Titan that saved my truck today. I am really grateful of what you did. I thought I was a goner and my son won't have me there for Christmas. Thanks."
Phos rubbed the back of their head and was a little generous.
Phos: "Gee… Don't be so coy. I was only doing my job is all. But we're not here for your generosity."
The driver raised an eyebrow and was a bit confused.
"Really? And what's that?"
Robin soon approached the driver and asked about his shipment.
Robin: "We came to ask you about your deliveries. According to Phos here, they said that you were delivering these Presto Playpal action figures."
The driver heard that and agreed.
"Well… Yeah… I've been delivering these things for the past few days. Became the hottest toy for the season. Strange that it wasn't on the toy fair months ago, would've been more popular than now."
Robin wanted to cut to the chase and asked on where he got the truck and the action figures.
Robin: "Right… We just want to know where you got that truck and those toys."
The driver heard that and wasn't sure about that.
"What? You mean Jester Toys? Well… This was a new company that just came up. I never got to know the location. They just give me the truck and a list of stores to deliver. No questions asked. Why?"
Robin was about to explain the situation until Phos stepped in and did the explanation.
Phos: "We believe that Funhouse, the guy that's been terrorizing Jump City all Christmas Eve, has created these action figures for some bigger plot."
The driver heard that and was a bit shocked by the news.
"You mean to tell me that all these toys I was delivering was created by a some twisted jester that wants to ruin Christmas? Huh… That could explain why the truck was delivered to me at my house. No company does something like that."
Cyborg soon notice something on the passenger side and approached it to see what it is. When he saw it, he told the others what he found.
Cyborg: "Hey! I think I found something."
He soon opened the passenger door as the team looked to see what he found. That's when he took out the action figure box and showed it to him. Robin noticed it and turned to the driver asking about it.
Robin: "You had a Presto Playpal with you and didn't tell us. I thought you said that you sold every one of them."
The driver shrugged it off and told him about it.
"I did, but I have a kid too and wanted one of those things. I thought of keeping one for myself to give it to him. It's one of the perks of being a delivery truck driver, you get stuff from your truck for free."
Raven heard that and crossed her arms with a bit of annoyance.
Raven: "You take stuff from your truck to give from your family. Does that count as stealing? It still feels like stealing."
Robin looked to the action figure and immediately found a way in finding Funhouse.
Robin: "It doesn't matter. Right now, we have a way in tracking Funhouse's toy line. Cyborg, can you track this Playpal to its manufacturing location."
Cy heard that and decided t give that a shot.
Cyborg: "Sure… I can try."
He soon turned the action figure over and place it on the palm of his metal hand face down. Getting his other hand out, four tips of the fingers opened up and cables extend out of it. They soon made their way into the backside of the action figure and penetrated its shell. He soon started to make a scan of the toy to see where it was created as the driver looked on in surprise.
"Wait…! What is he doing?"
The leader turned to the driver and told him of Cy's unique scanning.
Robin: "Trying to determine the factory it was created and pinpointing the exact location. If Funhouse made these toys, I'm sure he had a place to mass-produce them. Find anything?"
He soon turned back to the hybrid for an answer. Looking into the toy, Cy started to put the pieces together.
Cyborg: "You could say that. Judging by the design of the toy and the list of factories that produce this brand, I say the closest one is Playland Toys. But that place went bankrupt in the mid seventies when competition was strong and had to liquidate their company. No doubt, that's where Funhouse is hiding."
But as he was able to find the exact location, the action figure immediately beeped violently and as the visor like headgear started to blink red. The group saw that and they soon realized what is happening.
Beast Boy: "Dude! That thing is going to blow!"
Phos soon stretched their golden arm and grabbed hold of the action figure. Spinning it around, they launched it high in the air and it was up to the sky. Once it was away, the action figure started to explode, leaving behind a plum of fire and smoke. The group managed to cover their eyes when the blast happened and looked back to see the black smoke it left behind.
Starfire: "The figure that does action was rigged to explode if tampered with."
Raven: "That's a pretty bold statement. Guess Funhouse didn't want us to come there for a private tour."
Robin though smirked and knew that they got what they want.
Robin: "Despite that, we now know where Funhouse is. Let's head down to Playland Toys and pay him an early Christmas visit."
He soon turned to the driver that thanked him for his help.
Robin: "Thank you for giving us the assist. We really appreciate it."
But the driver wasn't listening. Instead he starred eye wide at the sky and was a little bewildered of what just happened.
"That was in my truck… Next to me… I didn't know… I didn't…"
He soon noticed that he was a bit in shock and decided to leave him there.
Robin: "Yeah… Thanks again. Let's go team! Time to stop Funhouse's Christmas special once and for all."
He soon left the driver by taking off with his grappling hook with the others following him. Phos soon stop next to the traumatized truck driver and decided to give him some advice.
Phos: "You know… If you are going to find a last minute gift, I heard that this little plastic things called gift cards can help you. They are really handy for buying gifts with them."
They soon melted their heels and took off, leaving the driver listening to what they said.
"Yeah… Gift cards… Of course… I'm sure my son would appreciate it…"
He soon stepped back into the truck and drove away, trying to forget what just happened.
Not far from Jump City, the Titans made it to a factory in the outskirts that had old smoke stacks, multiple warehouses, and an office complex with a logo that has a face of a doll and a title below it in multi colored letters that says, 'Playland Toys'. Unfortunately, the gate is both closed and locked with a lock pad and chains with the sign over it that says, 'Condemned'. Seeing the factory, they know they are in the right place.
Robin: "This is it. Playland Toys. This is where Funhouse have to be hiding."
Beast Boy looked to this place and could see that it was long forgotten. Foliage and overgrown trees are spread throughout the place, windows are busted open, and rust and peeled paint are everywhere.
Beast Boy: "Man, look at this place. It's like it had seen better days."
Cy went on his computer attached to his arm and explained about it.
Cyborg: "Says here that due to a lot of competition and high taxes, Playland Toys had no choice but to declare chapter 11 bankruptcy in the seventies, leaving it like it is."
Raven: "And considering Funhouse has a thing with making toys, he certainly calls this place home."
Robin: "Either way, we need to find him and stop him from ruining Christmas for everyone. Phos!"
The gem heard him and knew what he wants.
Phos: "On it."
Approaching the gate, they grab hold of the lock and with their free hand, extend the finger to put it into the slot. Once it molded into the key shape, they twist it and unlocked it. With the gate slowly opening, the group started to enter and were careful. Approaching the huge statue of a doll that is worse for wares with exposed holes and the occasional rust, they looked around the area, wondering where Funhouse might be hiding.
Starfire: "This place is vast! How are we ever going to find this Funhouse and stop him from destroying Christmas?"
Robin looked around and thought of something.
Robin: "If I know Funhouse, he would be at a place where he would be comfortable of, surrounded by toys."
He soon looked to one of the many warehouses and in the factory and noticed that it was partly opened. Seeing this, he decided to investigate further to see if that's where their target is. The rest of the team saw him head down there and followed him as well. Once they reached the warehouse, Starfire and Cyborg worked together to push the door forward and the group entered it. By the time they entered, they noticed that the entire place was completely dark and they couldn't see a thing.
Cyborg: "Sheesh… This place is pitch black. Can't see…"
He soon opened a small compartment on his shoulder and a flashlight was turned on, letting them see. Star followed suit and lit up her star bolt for everyone to see. Robin soon told them to find some light around the place.
Robin: "Spread out and find a switch or something. We need to shed some light in this warehouse."
So the group spread out and searched for a light switch to let them see through anything. Still, with their little lights, they won't see anything without floodlights or anything. Cyborg, Beast Boy, and Phos were on one end, looking for the switch while Starfire, Robin, and Raven were on the other side. BB though was wondering about and was paying no mind of where he was. Looking on one end, he didn't see anything in the dark and turned in front of him. At the same time, Cy pointed his light to Beast Boy and the changeling was in for quite a shock. In front of him, he could see a Santa bot with the face exposed with metal and circuitry. He immediately freaked out and backed away, getting terrified by the sight of it. Cy and Phos looked at the sight as the changeling calmed down. Turning to the two, he told them that it just happened.
Beast Boy: "What? It was right in front of me! Can you blame me on that."
The two looked to each other and rolled their eyes around with a sigh. The gem soon turned to the nearly finished Santa and noticed a switch behind it, pointing to it.
Phos: "Hey! I think I found the switch."
Seeing that, they stretched their arm and grabbed hold of the switch. Pulling it down, the lights started to flicker and slowly begins to turn on. Once the group can finally see, they found out that they were in the right place. All around them, they could see a collection of toys that were treated as weapons and other things. But they can also see half constructed UFOs and Santa robots, the very same thing they encountered all night. Looking to all of this, they knew that they were in the right place.
Starfire: "I would seem that we have located the hideout of Funhouse."
Robin: "Yep. We definitely found it. Now let's see what Funhouse is really planning. Find any clue that can lead to his plans."
So the group searched through the warehouse to find anything that the villain is going to do for Christmas. Scanning through, they didn't see much, but could tell that he has a sick mind in making toys for evil. That's when Raven noticed some sort of computer station with blue prints of the Playpal action figure.
Raven: "Hmm… That seem obvious."
Robin heard her and turned to see the workstation as well. Approaching the console, he sat on the chair and looked to the blueprint and computer. Seeing the Playpal blueprints, he knew what they were looking for.
Robin: "I was right. It looks like Funhouse created these Presto Playpals and was built with mechanics for robotic parts. Almost look like remote controlled and would be activated on a certain day. Christmas Day by the looks of it."
He soon went on the computer and checked the records of deliveries.
Robin: "And this must be the list of deliveries from every toy store in the city. He even brought in trucks to a dock far from here for the drivers to take and deliver. That could explain the driver getting the truck and delivering without questions."
The others joined in and checked on it too.
Cyborg: "Sheesh… Almost like they deliver through every toy store, supermarket, and department store. It's like Funhouse planned all this from the start. But what is his end game?"
Starfire and Phos looked to each other and was starting to put the pieces together.
Phos: "Hmm… Christmas is about giving gifts on the 25th, right?"
Star heard that and realized it.
Starfire: "That is correct. In fact it is one of the many Christmas traditions around the world. It helps bring children and families together."
Phos: "And this Playpal toy line he created was bought by everyone, and it's in every home and apartment across the city."
Starfire: "Where there are a lot of valuable items within the complexes."
Phos: "To easily steal."
They soon realized the plan and repeated in unison.
Phos: "That's it!"
Starfire: "That is it!"
"Robin: "What's it?"
The two heard their leader and turned to see the team looking at them with a bit of confusion. Knowing they needed an answer, they cleared their throats and explained to them in the situation.
Starfire: "I believe we know what Funhouse is planning."
Phos: "We think that Funhouse is using the Presto Playpals to form a crime spree on Christmas Day. And with those toys in the houses and apartments of Jump, he will use them to steal whatever they can take."
The team heard it and made a lot of sense.
Robin: "That must be his end game. Creating these action figures to do all the stealing for him and he gets away Scott clean. Clever toy maker."
Beast Boy looked to doll that was on the workstation and picked it up.
Beast Boy: "I must say, this dude knows a thing or two on the perfect crime, even on this holiday season."
He soon boop the nose as it immediately started to activate it by accident.
"All I want for Christmas is to blow stuff up."
Soon the eyes started to open and the countdown timer went down from ten, to nine, and so on. The others turned to him and can't believe what he done.
Cyborg: "Beast Boy! What did you do!"
The changeling turned to them and told them that it wasn't his fault.
Beast Boy: "Hey! It's not my fault! I thought it was just a normal doll!"
The group sighed as Robin knew about this doll.
Robin: "Apparently, it's the same type of doll that almost blew us up on the first encounter. Can't believe you forgot about it."
He soon noticed the countdown winding downwards and it almost reaches to zero. Seeing this, they need to get out of there, but didn't have the time. So he had to come up with the close enough option.
Robin: "Beast Boy, let go of the doll and head to us now! Phos! Raven! We need strong protection right now!"
Quickly, BB dropped the doll and returned to the group. At the same time, the gem and telepath got together used their golden arms and dark magic to form a barrier strong enough to save everyone. Once they form that sphere, the doll exploded and took the entire warehouse complex in one blast. That soon left behind a smoldering pile of debris and smoke where Funhouse's warehouse once stood. But in the middle of it is the black and golden spear that protected the team. When it was all over, the sphere melted and vanished as the team survived in one piece. Cy took a breather and was glad they escaped that.
Cyborg: "Phew… That was too close for call. Thought we were blown to bits."
Rob soon crossed his arms and was unhappy with Beast Boy's actions.
Robin: "Though none of us would've got out of there unscathed if a certain changeling didn't touch a doll bomb."
He glared down to BB and he looked a little sheepish and explained himself.
Beast Boy: "I told you, it wasn't my fault! That thing turned on by itself!"
Raven glared too and told him that he was the one that did started it.
Raven: "To be fair, you did boop the doll in the nose and it was activated. Most of the blame is on you in a way."
The Changeling glared to her and wanted to speak to her of this, until the darkness started to lighten and the sun is starting to come up. Everyone look at the sun rising and realized what today is.
Starfire: "Friends! It is Christmas Morning!"
Hearing that, they know what it means.
Robin: "Meaning Funhouse is about to put his spree to action. We better find him and put a stop to it once and for all. Move out!"
So the group started to leave the warehouse remains and left the factory, looking for Funhouse and putting an end of this plans once and for all.
Meanwhile, in the suburbs, Christmas finally came and the children are starting to open their presents. In one of the houses, a family of three was enjoying their Christmas morning as the father wished his son a Merry Christmas.
"Merry Christmas, son."
The boy started to unwrap his first gift, as it turns out to be the Presto Playpal action figure. He picked it up and was completely ecstatic about it.
"Awesome! Thanks dad!"
But as he was enjoying his gift, something strange happened. Almost immediately, the toy came to life and pushed out of the plastic display, giving the family quite a shock. Breaking free, it immediately ran to the couple and pounced on them. But it didn't attack them, instead it grabbed the mom's pearl necklace and broke through the window, running away. However, it wasn't the only action figure that did that. In every house and apartment, Playpal action figures come out of their packages and gifts and began looting the house with whatever they can carry. From cash to jewelry all the way to gifts form the family, they took everything and leave the areas, carrying whatever they have down streets and roads. Up in the air, Starfire and Raven flew over the city and could see the action figures taking stuff and running away. The Tamaranean soon went on her communicator and warned the leader of what is happening.
Starfire: "Starfire to Robin, it is as we all fear. Funhouse is planning a citywide spree on Christmas! We have to do something!"
In another part of town, Robin saw the Playpals running with loot on them and agreed.
Robin: "I can see that, Star. It seems that Funhouse did outdone himself in many ways."
Behind him, Cyborg, Beast Boy, and Phos looked on and had to think of a way.
Beast Boy: "Dude! There's too many of them! How do we destroy them?"
Robin looked at the direction they're going to and immediately come up with an idea.
Robin: "Simple… We follow them."
The three looked at him and was confused about that.
Phos: "Uh… Robin? Hate to tell you, but that's the opposite of what we need to do. I mean, shouldn't we just go down there, destroy any and all toys, stop them from stealing more? That could be our objective, right?"
That's when the Titan leader looked at the gem and told them of what he's thinking.
Robin: "Look down. Don't you see where they're going? They seem to be heading to one direction."
Phos look down at the toys running to the same direction with the loot they have and was a little confused.
Phos: "So…?"
Robin: "So, these toys are acting as puppets. Which means we follow the puppets."
The gem thought of that and remembered the encounter with the Puppet King not too long ago. When Star, Rae and them got swapped and the boys were in their puppet versions. Thinking of that, they knew what he meant.
Phos: "We find the puppeteer!"
Robin nodded and responded to their assumption.
Robin: "Precisely! We follow these action figures, we'll put an end to Funhouse's Christmas tirade once and for all. This way!"
The group soon jumped off the roof and followed the soldiers getting to the one location at the same time the girls started to follow the action figures too.
Meanwhile, down in the docks, the Playpals march down with all the many things they stole and was heading into a huge shipping container. On top of the shipping container, Funhouse observed his work and was overjoyed of his operation.
Funhouse: "Oh, it's the most wonderful time of the year."
As one of the toys was rushing to the container stacked with gifts, cash, and jewels, a Birdarang came down on hit it, breaking it to pieces. Funhouse saw this and looked up, seeing the Teen Titans on top of the shipping crane and was serious of what he was doing.
Robin: "You'll be doing hard time by New Years, Funhouse."
Even with a smile, he was agitated by their arrival.
Funhouse: "Argh… Why do you all want to ruin my fun, Titans? Can't you see it's Christmas?"
The group isn't buying it as Starfire responded to that statement.
Starfire: "Not if stealing presents from the kids of this city is wrong, you Scrooge."
Phos turned to her and reminded her that that's the wrong Christmas villain.
Phos: "Uh, Starfire? That's the wrong person. Scrooge is the guy who just simply hates Christmas. It's the Grinch who steals Christmas."
Star listened to the gem and got the message.
Starfire: "Oh… I see…"
Raven looked to the two and told them to focus.
Raven: "Okay… Now's not the time for a Holiday debate."
Robin ignored what's going on behind him and told him that it's all over.
Robin: "You're Christmas crime spree ends now."
Funhouse though was getting cocky and asked how they are going to stop him.
Funhouse: "And who's going to stop me? You? Hate to tell you this, but I have your outnumbered."
Beast Boy look down to all the Presto Playpal action figures and couldn't help but to chuckle.
Beast Boy: "Seriously? You have us outnumbered? Dude, those are just tiny action figures. I might use my foot to do a little squish and they will be broken to pieces."
The Jester laughed at the statement and told him that it wasn't the case.
Funhouse: "Oh, that's where you're wrong, my little green elf."
With that, he pushed a button on his uniform belt and it glowed purple. That's when the Playpal figures blinked yellow and dropped their statch to start to gather together. They begin to pile on top to each other by the shoulders and latched their arms together. They soon look like a pile that shape like a person. Soon enough, they started to glow bright and the team shielded their eyes from the blindness. By the time the light faded, they were shocked to see what they were looking at. Towering over them is a giant sized Presto Playpal action figure with the chest center opening up to reveal Funhouse controlling it.
Funhouse: "If I can't steal from these people on Christmas, then I'll steal Christmas from these people!"
He soon closed his chest cavity and raised the arm to open the action figure's hand. It soon started to glow yellow on his palm and look to be about to fire. Beast Boy looked on with a bit of blinking and realized that what he said will cost him his friends and himself. Looking to the group, he chuckled and wondered if he would get blamed for this as well."
Beast Boy: "Heh, heh… I take is you are going to blame me for that as well, right?"
Robin soon notices it changing and was about to fire. That's when he warned the others to get out of the way of fire.
Robin: "Scatter!"
Quickly, the group immediately split up and got out of the way. At the same time, the Playpal fired and blew up the crane they were one, causing it to break apart during the explosion and fall to pieces. Once they spread out, the realized that they could be in serious trouble.
Cyborg: "Of course Funhouse has a contengionsy plan when it come to this. Now he has a big mech to destroy us. Now what do we do?"
Robin turned to the city where the docks are located and realized that he could destroy the city if he wants to. So he told the team to keep him away from Jump.
Robin: "Keep him in the docks as long as possible. As long he's away from the civilians, we might find a way in defeating him."
Quickly, he jumped up and threw a bunch of exploding disks to the huge Mech. They did connect to explode, but didn't damage it much as it turned and swing right at the leader. Robin saw that and dived down in the air to avoid the swing. Using his grappling hook, he wrapped it around the arm and swung high in the air. Once he was high over the head, he got his bo staff out and used it to whack the Playpal on the top. He gave it a good enough whack, but it didn't phase it at the slightest. It soon started to glow and looked like that it was about to do something. Star saw it and immediately reacted by heading to the Titan leader. Quickly, she was able to get him out of the way as the ring visor caught fire and blew up in a stream of flames shooting up in the air. Thankfully, Star saved him and placed him in one of the shipping containers, warning him of that.
Starfire: "I believe that direct contact is not going to work."
Robin took a breather and got the message.
Robin: "No, it won't. Looks like range attacks are the only thing that can stop him. Hit that thing with everything you got!"
Soon enough, he got multiple disks and threw it at the action figure. Star soon started to fly and threw multiple star bolts right at the giant in the back. Cyborg got to one side and armed both his sonic blasters and shoulder mounted rocket launchers, firing everything at the same time. Raven started to lift containers with her dark magic and threw them at the huge target. The four Titans continued their onslaught on the Presto Playpal, but it seams that it didn't leave a dent in it.
Inside the action figure, Funhouse laughed it off and find it all amusing.
Funhouse: "Is that the best you got? You're only making me feel ticklish. My turn!"
He soon started to hit a few keys and pulled the lever.
By then, the Playpal's visor started to glow yellow and was charging up for something. That's when a beam came out and turned its head to take them all down. Robin could see this and warned the others about it.
Robin: "Look out!"
Quickly, the girls flew away as the beam started to follow them. But as the beam was trying to get them, it hit other things as well. It cut a few cranes, a lot of containers, and a ship or two. It soon started to hit buildings as pieces of debris started to come down. There were citizens of the city that are in a panic with not only the huge Playpal giant, but also the debris falling around them. A young girl soon tripped after running and fell on her face. The mother saw her and try to pick her up to get her to safety. But a huge enough slab came down on them and she doesn't have the time in getting out of the way. So her only option is to shield herself to protect her daughter. But suddenly, someone rushed to them and a golden shield came up, strong enough to stop the falling debris and causing it to break apart on impact. The mother soon looked up and saw Phos standing there with their arm stretched and form a dome like barrier. Looking down, they told the mother to get going.
Phos: "Go! Get to safety!"
Quickly, the mother picked up her daughter and got away from the devastation. Once she was gone, the gem heard the pleas of someone else.
"Help! Someone help us! There are people trapped!"
Turning, they could see a group of people trying to lift a huge slab that is trapping a group of people. Seeing this, they hurried to there and told everyone to stand back.
Phos: "Everyone step back! I got this one!"
Quickly, everyone stood back and watched to see if the gem can pull the slab off. Using both arms, they extend and merge them together to from some kind of enlarging shovel. They use all their strength to bring it up, but the pulling is causing strain on their body. Almost immediately, a green gorilla came in and assist the gem in lifting. Once the two managed to lift it up completely, a small group of people came out and ran for their lives. Once they were gone, the two lowered the slab and took a bit of a breather.
Phos: "Phew… Thanks Beast Boy. That thing was too heavy for me."
BB soon turned back to his human form and took a breather as well.
Beast Boy: "You're telling me? That slab completely weighs a ton at least. I'm surprised that we both managed to lift it."
The two soon heard an explosion and turned to see the action figure giant come through the docks and into the city. Seeing this, Phos went on their communicator and told Robin of the situation.
Phos: "Robin! This isn't working! Funhouse has already taken his creation into the city and wreaking havoc. We have civilians in the area and they might get hurt!"
Up on the rooftops, Robin and Cyborg were running off it while Star and Rae flew overhead, following the huge metal toy. He soon heard Phos through his communicator and listened to their situation.
Phos: "We need to take him down now before he destroys the entire city!"
Robin: "We got the message Phos. You and Beast Boy head to the park. We'll regroup with you there."
He soon turned his comm. off and kept on running. Cyborg overheard that and was a bit confused about it.
Cyborg: "Uh… Robin? You do know that park is a couple of blocks away. And it's through all these buildings to top it all off. How are we going to plan that?"
Robin heard him and told him that he knows what he's doing.
Robin: "Oh, I have something. We just need to get him to the park and away from the civilians. Keep him on that direction.:
So he jumped up and threw more exploding disks to the Playpal action figure, just to get its attention. The disks exploded and barely damaged it. The Presto Playpal turned to him and was glowing yellow, getting its arm up to bring it down. Cyborg quickly armed his cannon and shot it down a couple of times, causing the giant to back away. Of course, that was all a distraction as Starfire and Raven fired their powers at it. The star bolts and aurora blasts hit the back and it too got the action figure's attention. Turning up, he glowed and started to fire its beams at them. They managed to fly out of the way and avoided the attack completely. They all flew through the air and reached the boys. Robin managed to get a hold of Star by the hands while Rae created a disk for the hybrid to jump on and ride on it. The four soon headed down to the park and to follow Robin's plan.
Funhouse looked at this and was curious of their plan.
Funhouse: "What are those brats up to…?"
He soon started to march down to the park, wanting to see their next course of action.
Meanwhile, in the park, Phos and Beast Boy were evacuating people as they wanted the area clear from an attack.
Phos: "All right! Everyone needs to leave the park now! It's for your own safety!"
Beast Boy: "You heard the dude! Drop what you're doing and get out! Move!"
The civilians managed to make an escape and the park was completely empty. Seeing them gone, Phos scratched the back of their head and was concerned about this.
Phos: "Well, that's the last of them. No civilian in sight. I just hope Robin knows what he's doing. With how big that Playpal is, it would be impossible to take down unless there's a weakness."
Beast Boy turned to the gem and told them that it will be all right.
Beast Boy: "Don't sweat it dude. Robin knows a thing or two about taking down big guys. He has a plan in motion."
Just then, they heard an explosion and turned to see the four teammates getting away from the huge metal action figure, stomping towards them. Phos looked on with their hands on their hips and didn't like the sight of it.
Phos: "Really? Because it sure doesn't look like it."
The two soon headed to their side and decided to assist them. Beast Boy soon started to turn into a Godzilla and roared right at the monster. By then, the two started to duke it out with punches and head butts, trying to outdo each other. As they were bouting, the team watched on as Phos approached them as asked about the plan.
Phos: "Okay! Everyone has evacuated. Now we need to take it down. I assume you have an idea."
Robin heard them and looked around for something useful. That's when he could see the huge lake in the middle, one big enough to dunk a huge giant down. Seeing that, he smirked and came up with one.
Robin: "I think I have one. But we need to get him close to the lake. If I were to guess, the Presto Playpal is made of metal and electricity. With that much water, it will short-circuit it, I hope. Now we just need to get him there."
By the time he said that, they heard a loud punch and a huge green thing whizzed by them. They all turned back and saw Beast Boy laying on the floor and was a little dazed. Thankfully, he was close to the lake and the others could tell.
Raven: "I think Beast Boy is going to the right direction."
Robin soon told the changeling of where to go.
Robin: "Beast Boy, we have a plan in taking out Funhouse. Think you can get him to the lake?"
Beast Boy changed back, leaving behind the crater of his Godzilla like body. He soon looked to the huge action figure then to the lake that was close. Looking back and forth, the smirked and got the idea.
Beast Boy, Oh, it's done."
He soon turned into Mothra and flew high in the air. Diving down, he rammed the Playpal in the chest and nearly knocked it down.
In the mech, Funhouse was a little shaken up and was getting annoyed.
Funhouse: "That's a doozy. Okay you big bug, I hope you can survive my insecticide!"
He started to pull the lever down and was ready for an all out assault.
Pretty soon, he lifted both hands up and the two arms started to fire blast beams at the green moth. BB managed to fly all over the place dodging the beams as best as he could. Thankfully, they were in an opened area, so that way there won't be any destruction of buildings to go around. He kept on avoiding the beams in the sky while Funhouse kept using his lasers to destroy it.
In the cockpit, the jester was getting annoyed and wanted to destroy him once and for all.
Funhouse: "Pesky, pesky bug. Do you really want to annoy me with your flight of fancy? Fine! Will cut those pathetic wings off!"
He hit a few buttons and pulled a few levers to initiate an extermination.
Soon enough, his beams followed by the visor emit high heated blasts. The green moth kept on flying and dodging, going through with the plan. After all that, the beam hit the moth squarely in the chest and brought him down. He fell on the ground and was wounded, but still alive. The Playpal soon stood there in that spot while aiming his weapons right at the changeling.
Funhouse looked on in the cockpit and smirked devilishly.
Funhouse: "My, oh my… That was fun. Though I was expecting you to fight back. Oh well… Once less Titan to worry about."
He was about to incinerate Beast Boy until a huge golden lasso and a black ring appeared and wrapped on the arms. He saw that and was quite surprised.
Funhouse: "Huh…? What in the world?!"
The two soon tighten and pulled the arms back. What really happened is that both Phos and Raven were using their abilities to pull the arms back and use their strength to get the giant close to the lake Beast Boy managed to lead him. At the same time, Robin fired a grappling hook and Starfire caught it. That in turn led to her flying and wrapping the string around the huge legs of the Playpal. Once she attached the hook together, the huge action figure was trapped and has nowhere else to go. Robin looked on and told everyone to bring it down.
Robin: "All right! He's trapped! Now let's take him down. Beast Boy! Cyborg!"
The green mothra slowly started to get up as Cy headed to his friend and jump on his back.
Cyborg: "C'mon BB! Let's bring that hunk of junk down like that of Rodan."
So BB flew off the ground and headed straight towards the trapped action figure. Once he got close enough, Cyborg jumped up and hit the Playpal by the face followed by the green Mothra ramming it in the chest. Both impact cause it to tilt down, heading towards the lake.
Funhouse soon held on and was in total shock.
Funhouse: "No… No! NO!"
As soon as it started to fall, the leader told the others to get out of the way.
Robin: "Everyone get out of its way! It's going to fall!"
By then, everyone managed to make an escape. Even Phos let go as Raven teleported herself and the gem away. Once they were all away, the Presto Playpal started to fall into the lake and caused a huge splash, letting it sink to the ground. The Titans looked on while Beast Boy flew down and changed back, landing in his normal human form. Watching it sink, they were relieved that it was finally over.
Robin: "Good… It's done… Nice work team. Way to take Funhouse down for good."
BB though was a little irate and rubbed his chest that was a bit scorched.
Beast Boy: "Nice work? And what about me?! I was the one who took the blunt of that attack. I mean just look at me! My uniform is torched and I have a red burn on my chest! How am I going to kiss ladies under the mistletoe now?"
Cyborg looked to him and couldn't help but to snicker.
Cyborg: "Really? That's your concern? Wanting girls to kiss you under a bunch of leaves? I don't know, BB. That look is a bit of an improvement."
The changeling heard that and glared at him, knowing that he made quite a crude joke. Robin though decided to leave that behind and decided to let the team know that now they can rest.
Robin: "Either way, I say we all deserve a bit of a break after this. Christmas break in Titans Tower?"
Everyone heard that and was elated that they can now spend Christmas as a team. Even Starfire was bouncing up and down at the thought of it.
Starfire: "Oh yes, please! This is my first Christmas on this planet and I really want to spend every joyful moment with all of you."
Phos though looked away and was still a little silent over the idea.
Phos: "Yeah… Mine too…"
Raven notice that and was a little confused about their reaction. So she approached them and asked about it.
Raven: "Phos? Anything wrong? You seem a little depressed. Don't tell me that you are starting to hate your first Christmas after what happened."
Phos turned to the telepath and told her that it wasn't that.
Phos: "What? No! That's not it. I do want to enjoy my first Christmas in this world. It's just that… It's that I still didn't get that warm feeling of the Christmas Spirit inside of me. I tried every single tradition imaginable and yet I got nothing. I don't know what to do to get that feeling."
Raven could tell that they were a little desperate in understanding that. But she assured them that it's nothing to worry about.
Raven: "Heh… Don't get too worked up on that. That warm Christmas spirit feeling is that an emotion for every living being. And you… Well… How do I put it nicely? You are just a gem, a living inanimate object that is somewhat alive with those inclusions in you. So basically you won't have those warm feelings because you are not a warm body. No disrespect, but I don't think you could have those feelings."
Phos heard what the telepath said and lowered their head in depression.
Phos: "Oh… I see…"
Rae could tell that she hurt their feelings and assured them that it was nothing.
Raven: "Hey! Don't feel rejected by that. You can still celebrate Christmas, even if you can't feel that warm spirit thing. In fact, I do have a special present for you before this mess started. I'm sure when you see it, you will feel happy about it."
Hearing that, Phos perked their head up and turned to her with surprise.
Phos: "Really?"
Raven nodded and assured them that they'll enjoy the holidays no matter what.
Raven: "Positive. C'mon, let's head to the Tower. Don't want to keep those presents waiting."
So the two turned to return to the tower with the rest of the team doing the same. But what they didn't know is that the lake the Playpal went into was starting to bubble. Course they didn't know it as Beast Boy was slowly starting to jinx it.
Beast Boy: "You know… Despite my uniform burnt and my chest sore, that fight was too easy. I was expecting some type of stage two boss fight or something much more worse. But all and all, that wasn't too bad. Guess we can finally get a Christmas we deserve."
Just as he said that, the lake exploded and rain came down on them. Feeling the blast and pour, they turned to see what just happened. That's when they saw the Presto Playpal standing there with a pissed off look and sparks dancing around its body. Everyone starred at it in shock and realized that it wasn't over yet.
Cyborg: "BB…? Maybe it's best that you shut up. Cause when you say everything is going to be all right, that would happen."
BB blinked and got the message.
Beast Boy: "Right… My bad…"
Inside the cockpit, Funhouse was drenched with static around him and looked extremely pissed.
Funhouse: "That's it! That does it! I had it up to here with you punks! You want to ruin my Christmas? That's fine by me! In fact, I'll ruin everyone's Christmas, once and for all!"
He soon hit a few keystrokes and pulled a few levers to initiate his final hurrah.
Almost instantly, the action figure has deployed every weapon imaginable from mini rockets to beams. On cue, they all fired at the same time and went to many directions. Raven quickly got her arms crossed and formed a dome to cover her and her team completely. All the projectiles soon hit them, but didn't destroy the shield yet. But more projectiles hit spots on the park and damaged buildings around it. Citizens started to panic and ran for their lives as debris rained around them. The team notice that and realized that things have gotten worse.
Cyborg: "Man! This guy never gives up, doesn't he? If he keep this up, he will destroy the whole city!"
Robin nodded and got it.
Robin: "Yeah… I got the message. We need to put and end to all this once and for all."
Beast Boy notice the situation around him and told the leader that it was impossible.
Beast Boy: "Won't be easy dude. With all the heat he's packing, it would be impossible to get through."
Phos watched on and could see all the destruction Funhouse is doing, along with terrorizing the people of Jump. They can't just sit by and wait while lives are endangered. They need to act now before it's too late. That's when they could see the robot and remembered something back at the warehouse. The schematic of the Presto Playpal. That must've been the huge giant it was referring too. They soon remembered some sort of core located in the waist area. Seeing that, they know what to do.
Phos: "I think I know how to stop this. It might be risky, but it will do. Starfire, you're with me!"
Star turned to them and was a little confused.
Starfire: "What? I have to go with you, through there. That sounds pretty dangerous."
Phos turned to her and explained the situation.
Phos: "Star, you can fly fast enough to get there. I would like to do it myself with my agate legs, but as you can see, the gold alloy slows my speed. I might need your help getting to the robot's waist."
Star still thinks that it could be too dangerous.
Starfire: "I do not know…"
Phos soon sighed and told her of the worse case scenario.
Phos: "Do you want Christmas to be destroyed?"
Hearing that, Star realized what will happen if they don't stop this and decided to help.
Starfire: "Okay. Let us do this."
She soon flew up as the gem grabbed her arms. With that, the two soon flew out of the dome and headed straight for the Playpal mech. Robin saw this and told the others to get back.
Robin: "Starfire! Phos! What do you think you're doing? Get back here right now!"
He tried to get out of the dome, but the barrage of beams and missiles were too much for him, so he started to back out. Backing away, Cy told him that it was impossible.
Cyborg: "It's no good! Funhouse is hitting everything but the kitchen sink at us! We can't get anywhere near him. It's up the those two to stop him."
Rob gave a bit of a sigh and got the message.
Robin: "I hope you're right."
Out in the field, Starfire and Phos went through the field, heading towards Funhouse piloting the mechanized giant. They flew around, avoiding the many projectiles as much as possible, trying to get close to it. Phos was holding on for dear life and was trying not to get broken. With both arms melded to be strong enough to hold onto the Tamaranean, they told her to be careful.
Phos: "Whoa! Watch it! I have a hardness of three and a half here. Any of this stuff hit me-"
Star heard them and assured them that they will be all right.
Starfire: "Do not fret. I am a careful flyer."
Phos rolled their eyes around and was a little iffy.
Phos: "Yeah… When you have a fragile gem hanging on to you, you are a careful flyer."
The two soon started to approach the mech and were about ready to initiate the attack.
In the cockpit, Funhouse noticed the two heading straight towards him and was curious about their decision.
Funhouse: "Hmm… What are those two up to? Don't matter… When I'm done, they'll be in the grave by lunch!"
He hit a few buttons and pulled a few levers to target the two. A sensor appeared and the screen and was soon locked on.
Back out, the two were getting close to the mech as Phos looked at the waist area and told the alien on where to strike.
Phos: "There! That's the weak point! We need to get into the waist area and destroy the core from the inside. We destroy it, the Mech will be destroyed."
Star looked to the spot they need to strike and noticed that there's no way in.
Starfire: "But how can we get in? I do not see any point of entry. And your alloy is around my hands, so I cannot use my star bolts to make a hole."
Just then, they soon heard a beeping noise from the mech and looked up to see what it was. That's when they saw a rocket firing out of the shoulder mounted launcher and headed towards them. Seeing this, Star quickly turn to avoid the missile. At first, they thought that got out of its line of fire. But when Phos turned while hanging, they could see the missile starting to follow them. Seeing that, they immediately warn Star.
Phos: "Oh Crap! Star, look out behind you! That missile is a heat seeker!"
Star heard them and turned to see the heat-seeking missile following after them. Seeing this, she smiled and came up with a plan.
Starfire: "Oh, I think I know how to get us in there. Hang on!"
Quickly, she flew in ludicrous speeds and Phos was screaming from the sudden velocity. The two flew high in the air while the missile soon follows them. They started to zig-zag in the air while the heat seeker kept maneuvering the alien's moves. Looking down, Star saw an opening and immediately stopped and rocketed down towards the mech. Phos was getting dragged down and screamed like their life depends on it. Funhouse saw this on one of his screens and was really confused about the alien's actions.
Funhouse: "Is that thing out of her mind?!"
Star was soon getting close to the waist of the PlayPal, too close. Phos could see that and asked the Tamaranean nervously about it.
Phos: "Uh…? Star? What are you doing exactly?!"
Star smiled and assured them to trust her.
Starfire: "Going to get you in this monstrosity. Trust in me. I know what I am doing."
Phos peered down to the rushing mech and was nervous.
Phos: "That's what I'm afraid of!"
Star kept on rocketing downwards and was not stopping while the rocket behind her was getting closer. The moment she was mere inches away, she took the opportunity and immediately turn up and flew high. The missile though didn't follow as it got too close and hit the waist area, blowing up in the process.
Funhouse felt the heavy shake from the explosion and was in a bit of a shock.
Funhouse: "Whoa! What in the world?!"
Star soon flew away and got into an angle. Looking down, she could see the huge gaping hole the missile made and found the opening.
Starfire: "There! That's the opening you need to take."
Phos was still hanging on to one of Star's arm this time and was a little whoopy from all the flying. Taking a breather, they were glad that part was over.
Phos: "Good… I think… Now if you can lower me down do I can get in, that would be-"
Starfire: "No time."
The gem heard her and was a bit confused on that saying.
Phos: "Huh…? What do you meeeeeeeeeeeeAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHH!"
Almost immediately, Star spins her body and went fast, turning into a mini cyclone while taking Phos for a ride.
Starfire: "Go down there and shut this mechanical giant down for good!"
Quickly, Phos let go and headed right towards the Presto Playpal, screaming from the velocity. On instinct, they meld their arms together and formed a cannon ball around her to comfort the impact. That projectile soon went into the hole and was in the mech in general.
In the cockpit, Funhouse felt that as well and was getting concerned.
Funhouse: "Now what?"
Looking into his schematics, he noticed a breach in his mech while the proximity coming from inside the main core. Blinking, he realized what happened.
Funhouse: "Oh! So that's their game, huh? They are planning to destroy my precious toy and ruin my Christmas fun. I won't let that happen."
He soon switched to autopilot on his mech and left his cockpit seat, cracking his knuckles as he was walking down.
Funhouse: "If you want something down right, you best do it yourself."
Back in the park, the Playpal mech kept firing its rockets and lasers around and was hitting anything that's in its sights. In the air, Starfire flew around to avoid anything that it was firing. She soon got an opening and threw a bunch of star bolts at it. But it showed little affect as the mech targeted her and fired a few more rockets. Quickly, she flew away as the rockets started to follow. Turning around, she let her hands glow and fired some more shots at the projectiles. They were all hit and exploded in fire and smoke, but Star was left unharmed. She thought she was out of danger, but more rockets came out of the smoke and headed towards her. Star blinked and didn't think that would happen.
Starfire: "This is rather uncalled for!"
She soon turns around and flew away again as the missiles continued to follow. Back on the ground, the team saw Star trying to get away and was failing in many levels. Beast Boy soon decided to help on this endeavor.
Beast Boy: "Star's in trouble! I have to do something!"
He soon rushed to the black sphere and was about to aid her. But a beam hit the dome and pushed him back completely. He shook off the attack and was a little annoyed by this desperate attack of the jester.
Beast Boy: "Man! Can this dude catch a break or something?! There's too much to handle!"
Cy looks towards him and told him a bit of a joke.
Cyborg: "What? You want to go up there and ask Funhouse to stop firing? Be my guest."
BB turned to the hybrid and glared at the joke.
Beast Boy: "Dude, I know I'm a practical joker, but now's not the time to make jokes."
Robin looked on at the situation and knew it was impossible to act now.
Robin: "Either way, we can't charge in with that mech firing everywhere. What we need to do now is wait until Phos disables the mech. I just hope this shield can hold up for long. Raven? How are we holding up?"
He turned to Raven, still holding on as much as possible with her arms held high and her eyes glowing white.
Raven: "Still holding, for now. But all these attacks are too much for me to take. I don't know how long with will last."
Robin got the message and knew that it will be a limited time.
Robin: "Keep holding for a little longer. Whatever Star and Phos was planning, they seem to be almost finished."
He soon looked to the mech and hoped that Phos can get the job done.
Robin: "Hurry up, Phos. I don't know how long we can keep this up for."
Inside the mechanized Playpal, a huge golden cannonball was on the floor and remained motionless. Just then, it started to melt and open up to reveal Phosphophyllite in the middle. Once they returned their arms to normal, they rubbed their head and were completely out of it after being violently tossed by the Tamaranean.
Phos: "Ow… What a ride… And I thought Bort handling me during the Shiro incident was bad."
Shaking off the after affect, the gem looked up and realized where they were. In the middle looked to be like a core of some kind that operates the Playpal with cables and tubes connected to it. No doubt, this has to be the heart of the Playpal. Blinking, they knew they are in the right place.
Phos: "This must be it. The Playpal core. Now to figure out how to destroy it."
Walking around, they notice the casing is hard to get through and needs to find a way in.
Phos: "Hmm… Looks like the core is well protected. Only the glass casing is the only way in. There's got to be a way in bypassing it."
Looking to the wires, they started to put to pieces together and knew how to handle it.
Phos: "I take it those cables and tubes are for the electric current and coolant for the core. If I remove them, then maybe the core would be vulnerable. Seems like a stretch, but it's the obvious choice I have. Better hurry though. The team won't last out there."
So they looked to their arms and begin to focus. That's when the arms started to multiply and shifted to become multiple blades. All set, they looked up to the cables and tubes and started to stretch all of their arms out, all of which cutting them down one by one. Sparks and coolant liquid started to came down as red flashes drowned the area. So far, they are already halfway there and were about to handle the rest. Suddenly, a shadow came up from behind and was about to attack. The gem could feel it and the heels melted and make a golden wall that rose up to block the attack from behind. The shadow was taken back by the black and was pushed away, giving Phos to turn to see who attacked them. That's when they saw Funhouse standing there, trying to recover from the block.
Phos: "You!"
Funhouse looked to the gem and was furious.
Funhouse: "You and your friends have crossed the line with me. All I wanted is a special Christmas celebration and yet you pests keep ruining it! Why can't we all get along on this day of festivities?"
Phos gave him the look and crossed their arms in annoyance.
Phos: "Really? You want us to get along because it's Christmas? After trying to terrorize the city, stealing from these people, and ruining this special holiday, you want us to get along with you for this holiday? I'm not going to let that happen."
The jester shrugged it off and decided to let the real fun begin.
Funhouse: "Oh well, at least I tried."
He soon twirl his scepter and hit the button, letting out silver blade that on the end of it.
Funhouse: "Very well, it's playtime!"
He soon started to charge in and went on the attack. Phos saw this and groaned.
Phos: "Some Christmas this turned out to be. And this is my first!"
They soon formed their arm into their blade and got in a stance to prepared for a fight. The two soon begin to clash.
Back in the park, the group was doing their best in defending as the huge Playpal mech dropped the hammer on them with everything it has. They managed to escape with Raven teleporting all of them in a safe area the moment the shield was shattered and went back on the attack. Star and Rae used their aurora blasts take down as many missiles as they can while Robin, Beast Boy, and Cyborg handled the ground and focus their attention on the legs to knock it down again. Cy used his mini missiles to shoot the ankle with Robin and Beast Boy hitting it with a Bo staff and a sphere in Rhino form. Indeed, it staggered around for a while, but managed to regain it's footing. The group took a step back and could tell that nothing is working.
Cyborg: "Oh, this is just perfect! Knocking it down didn't work. What now?!"
Robin looked on and knew the only option is for the gem to shut it down from the inside.
Robin: "Our only option left is to have Phos shut it down from the inside, or at least any way in bringing it down. We just need to stall it and hold it back so it won't return to the city again. I just hope they're able to destroy it in time."
Just then, the foot started to rise up and went over them, ready to stomp them out. Beast Boy saw it and pointed up to them.
Beast Boy: "Let's hope they have it handled, cause we got bigger things to deal with. Look out!"
Quickly, he got into the middle of them and turned into a huge sasquatch, getting his hands up to the air. The foot stomp on them, but the changeling managed to hold on and used his strength to keep it up for as long as possible. In the air, Starfire and Raven kept on shooting down the rockets before any of them hit the buildings. But it was impossible as it kept on firing as many as they possibly could. Star managed to clasp her hands together and fired a huge beam right at the sky, taking out all the missiles in one sweep before they reached any of the buildings. Once she was done, she took a breather and was getting tired.
Starfire: "It is no use! This Playpal fires unlimited amount of rockets without stopping. How are we going to keep him from destroying the city?!"
Raven waved a hand and a large black swipe appeared and acted like an umbrella deflect the remaining rocket from reaching the skyscrapers. Letting it dissipate when it was over, she sighed and hopes her friend managed to handle the threat on the inside.
Raven: "I don't know… But we have to hold it off until Phos can take it down. I just hope they can do this in time."
The two turned back and could the Playpal mech stop firing. They wondered if the bot ran out of missiles. But then, it looked to the two and the visor was glowing yellow. Seeing that, they realized that they could be in for some serious trouble.
Raven: "And by the looks of it, we've just run out of time."
The mech soon fired a yellow beam to flyers as they split and flew away from it. They were maneuvering through many directions as the beam tried to follow them. So far, the fight was lopsided from them and they can't hold on for too long. Their only hope is for Phos destroy the core and end it. But they too were having trouble as much as the others.
Inside the core of the mech, the gem was fending against Funhouse as the two clashed with their blades. The jester went high to go for the head, but Phos ducked down and avoided it. They soon twist their body and during the twist swung their sword to his legs. He though jumped up and avoided that swing, flipping before landing on his feet. He soon twists his cane around before pointing the jester face right at them. The jester's eyes started to glow red and fired energy blasters right towards the gem. Phos saw that and got their other hand out, letting it extend into a shield and deflecting them completely. The shots soon went into multiple directions and grazed the metal walls. Once it stopped firing, Phos put their shield away to see him charging with the sword pointing right at their chest. Quickly, they jumped and used their heels as a lunching point and get to a high advantage. In slow motion, Phos flipped above Funhouse while he missed them completely. Landing on the other side, they turned to him as he turned back and was impressed.
Funhouse: "I must say, you was quite the playmate. You got quite the skill and abilities to make an excellent toy to play with."
The gem was taken back by that and readied their weapons for a brawl.
Phos: "I'm no toy to play around with, I'm a gem!"
The jester used his finger to make his staff as a baton and was still thinking they're a toy.
Funhouse: "Toy… Gem… They are both the same thing. And do you know why they're the same thing?"
Phos listened to that question and was a bit confused.
Phos: "Uh… No… Why's that?"
He soon stops spinning the sword staff and it was pointed upwards to the right slice.
Funhouse: "Because they break easily!"
He charged in again and went straight to cutting them in a diagonal angle. Quickly, the gem sidestepped and managed to miss his attack by a single inch. She soon lifts their knee up and gave him a jab to the stomach, causing him to grimmest in pain. They soon got the same leg up and used a back leg pound to the back and knock him to the floor. He lay there with his face on the metal floor and looked to be out. They pushed him to roll him to see if they were defeated. But as they did that, Funhouse has a smirk while rolling on his back and tricked the gem.
Funhouse: "Surprise!"
That's when he has a flower on his check and it squirted water right on their face. Phos was caught by it and blinded them temporary. They backed away and try to rub the liquid off their face, which in turn wiping the powder off their face and showing the minty green color. This gave the jester time to jump up and went right to the kill. Swinging his sword, he was about to slice them in many pieces. Phos quickly got their shield out and extended it to block off any swipes he might do. Finally getting the water of their sight, their face was completely exposed and shows off the shine of the gem's color. With a quick push, they managed to give them distance to the enemy. When they were able to free themselves, they peeked to see Funhouse looking angry and decided to end it once and for all.
Funhouse: "That's it! Playtime is officially over!"
Getting his staff in position, the little jester head's eyes glowed and fired a beam right at them. Phos panicked and got their shield back up to protect themselves from that powerful beam. That beam hit the shield and deflected in a certain angle. That beam soon flew right to the shield casing and right into the core of the mech. Funhouse saw that and realized the mistake they have made.
Funhouse: "NO!"
The moment the beam hit the core; it exploded and caused the two to get pushed back by the blast.
At the same time, the Titans were tucked out and were cornered by the mech. The Playpal stomped to them and looked down, aiming all of its arsenal right at them. They all looked right at it and knew that this is the end for them. But just as it was about to fire, the core exploded on the inside as smoke billowed out of the hole Star made to let Phos in. That caused it to short circuited and backing away, having pieces of it exploding in the process. The team watched on as the arms blow up followed by the head. Before long, the whole body went into an overload and blew up in a huge mini nuke explosion, causing the building windows around the park to explode and shatter glass and a plum of smoke spreading to the streets around the park. The moment the smoke is cleared, the park looked like it was in a war zone as pieces of the mech were all over the park and trees were in flames. But a black dome was in the middle of the blast and remained in one piece. The moment the dome vanished; the Titans were unharmed and surveyed the damage of the park. Beast Boy whistled to himself and didn't expect something like that to happen.
Beast Boy: "Whoa… Look at all this destruction. Definitely not my idea of a Christmas celebration."
Cy though was fortunate that they are all right, along with every citizen in the city.
Cyborg: "Well, at least we survived, and the city is saved. Ergh… Somewhat… At least there is a reason to celebrate."
But as they were relieved that it was all finally over, Star looked around desperately for something and feared for someone's life. Robin could see her worry and asked what's wrong.
Robin: "Starfire? What's wrong? You seemed worried."
Star turned to him and told him that was bothering her.
Starfire: "It's Phosphophyllite! They were in that mech when it exploded! What if they were shattered in a billion pieces?!"
Hearing that, the group was shocked that the gem might be destroyed in that explosion.
Beast Boy: "Oh great! You got to be kidding me?! That means that they could be scattered through the park. That means it's going to take us all day to find their pieces, let alone put them back together."
Knowing that's the case, Robin decided to start the search now before it's too late.
Robin: "Split up and start searching. They got to be somewhere in this wreckage."
So they begin searching through the park to find any piece of Phos that can recover. So far they didn't see any green-minted piece or a gloop of golden alloy, but pieces of the Playpal mech were scattered about. But then, Raven managed to pull a huge metal slab with her dark magic and tossed it to the side. That's when she spotted something that would get the team's attention.
Raven: "Guys! I think I found them!"
The group heard her and hurried to her to see if they needed any help. When they arrived, they noticed a huge sphere like dome that was created be a certain gem. The group looked on and could tell that Phos managed to survive. Star soon hovered over the sphere and checked to see if the gem is all right.
Starfire: "Phos? Are you in there? Say something!"
Suddenly, the gold opened like a flower and the group stood back. That's when they could see Phos laying there with their body damaged. The uniform was tattered and torn, with pieces of the body sticking out through it, the legs were in pieces, the alloy melted into the flower like dome, and a part of their head was broken up with the eye out of the face and rolled away. The group looked on and was relieved that they didn't have to pick up all the pieces; just putting them together would be the tricky part. Phos looked to the group with one eye and smiled a little, forming cracks around the lip.
Phos: "Hey… Some Christmas, huh?"
Star saw their friend still survived and smiled back.
Starfire: "Indeed. This has been quite a Christmas we will never forget."
The group looked at this moment and chuckled a little bit for this moment. But that moment was soon disturbed by a sound of metal moving around. They all turned to see someone else coming out of the wreckage. That person turns out to be Funhouse as he survived the blast, but was wounded from the blast, limping while holding his badly damaged arm with his uniform in tatters. But as he was walking out, a sonic cannon pointed right at him and black magic covers his legs to prevent him from running. He struggled to get out of it, but the magic was too strong for him to escape. Looking up, they could see the Titans standing before them with the weapons and powers armed while Beast Boy became a tiger to growl at him. Rob soon approached him and decided that it's finally over.
Robin: "Looks like Christmas is cancelled for you, Funhouse."
The jester chuckled while rubbing the back of his head, knowing that he has failed completely.
Funhouse: "Heh, heh, heh… I suppose we're not going to negotiate over a cup of egg nog."
And so the city was saved from the tyranny of Funhouse and his Christmas plot. But the day wasn't over yet.
Christmas night came and after a long day to clean up from Funhouse's rampage throughout the city, the team deserves a long break from all that hard work. In Titans Tower, Phos is in their room powdering up any cracks on any part of their body. The team managed to get all the pieces and took the gem back home to put them back together. But the gem returned to their room to finish the rest of them together and powdering up the cracks. Now in a bathrobe, they look to themselves and were glad that all the pieces were in place.
Phos: "There. Good as new. Well, as new until the cracks show again if I strain myself like just now."
Stepping up, they approached their desk and were thinking about the encyclopedia about Christmas.
Phos: "I got to say, after all that excitement from Funhouse's little escapade, at least I can now get to work on putting together an encyclopedia about Christmas. I learned so much with all the research Star and I made."
They soon took a seat and were about to start typing down what they learned. But as soon as they started, they stopped and still felt like something was missing.
Phos: "Still… I feel like I don't understand what the true meaning of Christmas is. I don't even understand the spirit of Christmas either. So technically, I didn't learn everything after the whole fiasco. What a waste."
Just as they thought of that, there was a knock on the door and nearly startled them. Tuning to it, they asked whom it is.
Phos: "Who is it?"
Starfire: "It is I, Starfire. May I come in?"
Hearing Star's voice, the gem sighed and let her in.
Phos: "Come on in."
The door soon opened and the Tamaranean stepped right in to check on them.
Starfire: "Are you undamaged, friend Phos?"
They soon stood up from their computer and try to cover their concern.
Phos: "Oh, I'm fine. Was badly damaged from the blast, but nothing like a little glue and powder to put me back together. Wish I could say the same with my uniform. Nothing like a little stitching wouldn't hurt. I mean, Red Beryl is the professional when it comes to their outfits, but you might be surprised what multiple golden arms would do."
Star could look right at the soirée and knew that they were troubled.
Starfire: "You say you are fine, but that fake demeanor tells me that you are not."
Phos knew that Star realized they were hiding something and slumped down. Sighing, they decided to come clean.
Phos: "Fine… You got me… I'm not okay, in a mental capacity. See between learning about our first Christmas and that mess with Funhouse, I just can't understand the meaning of Christmas, let alone the spirit of such. I feel like I haven't accomplish anything with that task."
Star heard that and knew what they were applying.
Starfire: "I agree with you. Like you, I too struggle with understanding the true meaning of this Christmas. With the feud with Funhouse, I could not focus on our mission in knowing what this holiday truly means. I fear that we both failed in our own assignments."
Phos looked to her and couldn't help but to chuckle about it.
Phos: "Right. Well… It wasn't much of a failure. I mean, we saved the city from a ridiculous villain and saved many lives so that family and friends can spend today together. So that's a success in it of itself."
Star soon smiled back and get what they were saying.
Starfire: "Indeed. We were successful in saving everyone for the holidays. Though I just wish that we can know of Christmas ourselves. But at least everyone would enjoy today."
Phos: "You can say that again."
The two gave it a bit of a laugh as the two thought that everyone would enjoy Christmas today. But as they were enjoying themselves, they could hear Robin's voice in the PA speaker.
Robin: "Starfire and Phos, please report to the command center, it is urgent."
Hearing that, the two wondered what that is all about.
Starfire: "Odd… I wonder why Robin wants us there? Could there be another emergency? Has Funhouse escaped police custody?"
Phos shrugged it off and decided to check it out.
Phos: "Who knows? But it does sound serious. Let's check and see what he wants."
Getting up, they left their room while Starfire followed them. The two started to walk down the hallway and headed to the doorway to the command center/lounge. Once they arrived, the door opened and nearly blinded them with a bit of light. Walking in the adjusted their sight and marveled at what they see. All around them, the place was decked out in Christmas festivities with a bigger tree, pretty ornaments, many presents, stockings, and everything that's holiday related. There was even the 'Rockin' Around the Christmas Tree' song by Brenda Lee playing on the speaker to make it feel festive. And at the booth room, the team was sitting there with Christmas dinner around them with Cyborg getting the main dish ready in the kitchen. It's like a better version of the tree and decorations they got and show case beautiful Christmas is. The group looked to see the two entering and told them to have a seat.
Beast Boy: "Hey guys! Have a seat."
The two were still in awe and they have no idea what's going on.
Starfire: "Wha- What is all of this?"
Phos: "Yeah. What's really going on?"
The group looked at each other and could tell that they want an explanation. So Robin decided to let them know what is happening.
Robin: "Well, you two mention that this is your first Christmas, right? Well, after we taken Funhouse to the police, we decided to chip in and work on setting up the your first holidays with us."
Raven: "Let's be honest, even if you two managed to decorate the Tower, it was…beginner level. So we decided to improve the place a bit. Get a better tree, decorate it better, even getting presents for you two, since you got some for us."
Cy overhears the conversation and chimed in for what he was doing.
Cyborg: "And of course cooking a feast fit for a king. No offence Star, it's nice that you are cooking of us tonight, but… Well… To be honest… Your idea for a feast is so distasteful for our taste buds. So I had taken the liberty of cooking our Christmas dinner."
Cy soon heard a ding from the oven and knew what that meant.
Cyborg: "Oh! Speaking of which…"
He soon approached the oven and opened it up to reveal and huge glazed ham for all to see.
Cyborg: "Mmm, MMmm! Check it out y'all! Nothing says Christmas then a nice honey glazed ham.
Beast Boy heard that and was disgusted at the sight of the ham.
Beast Boy: "Dude! For real?! You cooked something that came from an animal's belly and show no remorse? That's sick, Cy!"
The hybrid looked at him and responded back the best way possible.
Cyborg: "What? It was a normal tradition of have a Christmas Ham for dinner for the holidays. That's what my family did back in the day. Besides, you have that Tofu casserole on you made on your plate. Be lucky I let you cook that to share. Though don't expect me to eat that crap."
BB got annoyed and snapped at that thought.
Beast Boy: "Hey! How many times do I have to tell you? Tofu is good for you. You should try it."
Cy managed to carry the ham to the middle of the table and complained about that.
Cyborg: "It will be a cold day when I have nothing but tofu. Oh wait! It's Christmas! It's already cold and I have enough food that's not tofu."
The changeling pouted and didn't like the sound of his voice.
Beast Boy: "Oh, rub it off on me will ya?"
Robin decided to ignore their complaints and got off the table approaching Star and Phos to explain about the real true meaning of Christmas.
Robin: "Look… I get the two of you really want to know the meaning of Christmas. Sure, decorating, present giving, cooking dinner, singing carols… It's nice and all, but it's just dressing behind the whole facade. Christmas isn't about any of those things."
The two looked to each other and were a bit confused behind it. They looked to him and wondered what he was saying.
Starfire: "It is not?"
Rob shook his head and told them the true meaning.
Robin: "No. Christmas is about spending time with family and friends, and sharing all the memories and reflecting on past events. That's what the meaning of Christmas is. Come. Join us."
He soon showed them to the table there were two empty seats available. Looking to the group, they soon realized what he meant.
Starfire: "Indeed, you are correct Robin. This is truly is Christmas. Come, Phos, let us join our friends for this special occasion."
The gem heard her and looked to the table where the empty chair next to Raven. Looking on, they smiled and decided to join in as well.
Phos: "Sure… Why not?"
So the two headed to the table with Robin not far behind. Once they all took a seat, they started to enjoy their dinner and reminiscent about their time together since day one. As they were enjoying themselves, Phos looked to the moment and was marveled by everything. The way they talked and laughed while having their dinner is quite something. Raven noticed their observation and decided to talk to them about it.
Raven: "I can see you're enjoying yourself, huh."
Phos heard her and turned to smile.
Phos: "You could say that. To see everyone having a good time; made me think of home and my friends. How they all have a good time when they're not on patrol for any Lunarians. I just miss those times. Never think spending time with your family or friends is the true meaning of Christmas. Too bad I couldn't understand the spirit of Christmas."
Rae could tell that they still didn't accomplish the one thing they want answered and told them to not worry about it.
Raven: "Don't think about it too much. It's the one question that can never be answered. Just enjoy the day. It is Christmas after all. Speaking of which…"
With a wave of her hand, a portal opened up and something came out of it. That something is a present, the same present that Phos gave her when they were on the hunt for Funhouse. Placing it on her hand, she told them that she kept her promise.
Raven: "If I remember correctly, you gave me this gift when we were searching for that lunatic and told me to open it. Course I had to decline because we were on assignment, but I promised I'd open it when it was over. Well, can I still open it?"
Phos looked to the gift and their eyes were gleaming, like they were back to their cheerful, innocent self.
Phos: "Really? You want to open it? Well go ahead! I spent some good money on it and it's a perfect fit for you."
Rae heard them to do it and looked to the gift to see what's inside. Looking to the gift, she removed the ribbon and tore the paper out. When she opened the container that looked rectangular, her eyes were wide and couldn't believe what she was seeing. In that box is a silver necklace with a raven hung in the middle that has a red ruby on its face that acted as its eye. Taking it out of the box, she took a closer look and was awestruck by the sight of it. The team looked at her, wondering what she thinks as the gem was nervous of what she think.
Phos: "Well… What do you think? Do you like it? I found this at a store they call Hot Topic and it was on a special sale. And giving how it looked, it seemed fitting to you demeanor."
The telepath was silent and starred at the necklace for a while. Phos started to get worried and drooped their head down.
Phos: "If… If you don't like it, I can return it. I just bought it yesterday and got the receipt…"
After a bit of waiting, Rae started to respond to their question.
Raven: "No… I don't like it…"
The gem's lips begin to quiver, fearing that would come out of her mouth next.
Raven: "I love it!"
Phos perked up and couldn't believe what they heard.
Phos: "Wh- What?"
Rae turned to them and repeated what she said.
Raven: "I said, I love it! I've seen it a couple of times in the store and didn't know if I want to take it or not. I'm surprised that you managed to get it on Christmas Eve of all days."
Phos rubbed the back of their head and laughed a bit.
Phos: "What can I say? Last minute Christmas shopping tends to go over the edge when it comes to their sales. You can imagine how many, 'Everything Must Go' specials they have at the mall. I'm lucky enough to get that before anyone else. Go ahead. Put it on."
Hearing that, she didn't hesitate and put the necklace on around her neck. When she attach the both ends, she turned to show her necklace to them.
Raven: "How do I look?"
Starring at them, they have the warmest smile and liked it completely.
Phos: "It looks perfect on you. Suits you nicely."
Rae smirked and decided to give them something as well.
Raven: "I… I got a present for you. It's not like the necklace, but it is something that will make you feel close to home."
She sticks her hand house as it incased in black. Then a box like present under the tree was engulfed in the same magic and it levitate towards the two. Lying between them, she told the gem to open it up.
Raven: "Here. Open it. I'm sure you will like it."
Phos looked at the present and wondered about what's inside, considering how big it is. So curious, they used their arm as a blade and carefully cut the package and tearing the wrapping. The moment they opened and box, they stood up and looked inside it to see what it is. That's when their eyes were wide and couldn't believe what they were seeing.
Phos: "Whoa… What's all this?"
Getting their hand in it, they took something out and noticed a gem like shape of what appeared to be Goshenite. Rae chuckled and explained what she got them.
Raven: "As I recalled, you've been talking about your friends back in your home and how they are like. So I went to a gem store you crashed into when we encountered Dr. Light and purchase all 26 gems, with the exception of Antarcticite and Cinnabar. It was a bit…pricey, and I can imagine the bill that will be sent to us, but I thought it would be best to make your feel like your home with your kind. I hope you enjoy it."
Phos soon multiplied their arms and got their hands into the box to see the many colors and shape of the gems. From Morganite to Bort, Yellow to Obsidian, Rutile to Diamond. There was a specific gem type and color and they were amazed at it all.
Phos: "I… I don't know what to say?"
Raven: "You can always say thank you."
Phos turned to her and was smiling from ear to ear.
Phos: "Thank you. This is a great Christmas Present."
That's when Phos felt something in them, something warm and fuzzy. They didn't know what it is, or where it's coming from. But the only thing they do know is that it is something they were looking for all this time. Placing their hand on their chest, they finally realized what they found.
Phos: "Whoa… Huh… So that's the Sprit of Christmas they were saying. I didn't know that it would come from a gem like me."
Rae just give a simple laugh and told them that they have a lot to learn.
Raven: "You have a lot to learn about us humans and our emotions. This… This is the first step."
She soon placed her hand on their's and the two started to share a bond between them. Phos could feel their cold and rocky body warming up and turned to her with a warm smile.
Phos: "Yeah… Guess your right."
Just as they were going to share this moment, something hovered over their heads. Looking up, they could see a plant over them and Star was the one holding it while floating in the air. Rae just started to get annoyed and demanded what's with the interruption.
Raven: "Star, what exactly are you doing? In fact, what is it you're holding?"
Star had a giggle coming out of her mouth and explained what she was doing.
Starfire: "Oh, this is what the people of Earth call a mistletoe. It is a Holiday tradition where when there is one under two people, they have to kiss each other. It is what I read in the books."
The two looked on and was completely quiet at it. Looking into each other, they were completely hesitant about what she wants them to do. Their faces were blushing red and didn't know if they can do it or not.
Phos: "Well… This is rather awkward. So… Do you want to do that?"
Rae looked on and was concerned about that. So much so that she decided to give it a try.
Raven: "Looks like we don't have much of a choice. Just a little peck on the cheek will do, right."
Phos got nervous and agreed with her.
Phos: "Sure… Why not…? What's the problem with a little peck on the cheek?"
So they turn their head and let Raven kiss them on the cheek. The telepath was hesitant about it and didn't know what to do. Taking a deep breath, she decided to get it over with and got closer to Phos's face. The moment she pecked them on the cheek, Phos's face felt really flustered and cracks started to appear and gold started to seep out of it. In a matter of moment, their head literally exploded and they dropped to the floor. Everyone was caught be surprise as Phos's body lay on the floor next to the box of gems with a puddle of gold on the neck and arm stumps. Looking at the gem's body they all were quiet and didn't think that would happen. That was until Beast Boy broke the silence and groaned in annoyance.
Beast Boy: "Oh man… Not this again. I swear, this gem is more fragile then they look."
Cy soon decided to joke about what happened and was deemed to be fitting.
Cyborg: "Well, at least on the bright side, The Spirit of Christmas is too much for Phos to handle, am I right."
The group soon laughed it up as they got the joke. Indeed, after what they all went through, Starfire and Phosphophyllite had their first Christmas. And this is the Christmas that they will never forget.
And that concludes the TTPC Christmas Special. Got to say, this was one tough one to write. Granted, I started it last year and didn't have the time to post it all so I delayed it until this year. And with the pandemic and many other things that happened, I have the time necessary to complete it. Plus, while this was taken from the Batman: The Brave and the Bold episode, I did manage to make it my own. Including the final Mech battle. Anyways, I hope you all enjoyed this Christmas special. Stay tune for the next episode where we take the team under the sea to stop a certain amphibian from conquering the ocean. Please Review and have a Very Merry Christmas! #WherearetheGoodCartoons?
