Klaus POV
I was in the middle of the meeting, the first with every faction leader when my phone rang. I decided if it wasn't anyone living at the house, I'd just ignore it. When I pulled it out, the caller ID let me know it was Evelynn. "Hey. Can you come pick us up? From the Luke restaurant. I'll explain later." There was a brief pause. "Please," Evelynn said in quick succession before hanging up.
"Alright. An emergency has come up. This meeting will continue tomorrow at 10 a.m." I declared standing up from the table. "In the meantime. No killing or harming each other. Try to stay within your boundaries. The wolves may come in to do some shopping as they have just recently turned human, and the land won't sustain that boost all at once, but please return to the bayou immediately after. Anywho break my rules will be punished by me. Marcellus. Come with me." I said as I turned around and walked out.
Marcel quickly catches up with me. "What's going on Klaus?" Marcel asked, getting in the passenger side of the car we had arrived at. "An acquaintance has gotten themselves in a bit of trouble it seems. I'm not quite sure what, but I know there's a problem. So, I've decided to help out." Klaus easily explains headed towards the restaurant.
Evelynn POV
It's not that hard to believe, right? Two crazy witches approaching us… It has to be a coincidence. "Hello." The man said. "Evelynn and Esmeralda, I believe?" He questions behind the small teenager. "Hello… Finn, and his girlfriend, I believe?" I asked sarcasm thickly lacing my voice. "How can we help you?" I ask in a more serious tone.
"Sis?" I heard Esmeralda's question. "Can we go to the bathroom?" She questioned, attempting to give us an escape. I wasn't quite sure whether to take it or not. "Come along, Dear," I told Esmeralda. "If you'll excuse us, we must be on our way. Come on Ezzy. Outside." Esmeralda nodded. "It was nice seeing you again. Finn. Ester." Esmeralda said, with a polite nod.
"Esmeralda. Hurry up." I said starting to walk away. My sister quickly walked to my side. "What was that about. We wanted to be inconspicuous. That was the furthest we could get from inconspicuous." Esmeralda whisper shouted to me. "We will be fine. My bet there will be people on the street." Less than a minute later we were out the door, and I was right. Near impossible to perform an abduction from here. Then I spot Klaus and turn to my sister. "Let's go," I said walking away from the restaurant, Esmeralda hot on my tail.
"Drive," I instructed seeing Ester and Finn coming out of the restaurant. "Why?" Klaus asked. "I'll tell you as soon as you start driving." Figuring out quicker than later I wasn't going to answer any question, Klaus caved and started driving. I'm sure he was aware there was something he could do to get me to talk, but I'm also sure he could figure out the consequences. Once we were driving down the road, he finally asked the question again. "Why did I have to immediately come get you?" Klaus asked, sounding pissed.
"Esther and Finn were there," I said, offering no more details, which Es were happy to provide. I was in the middle of trying to figure some things out. One, where they working with anyone? My father perhaps? Or someone entirely different. Say one of the other enemies I've made in my time on the road. What species? Witch, vampire, werewolf, or human? The questions are endless.
Two, what did they want? They seemed evil, but were they really. It seemed to be some front, to conceal something. I'm not quite sure what though. Perhaps some bad intentions on her children again, or maybe on us. We are hybrids, rare by all means.
Third, do we kill her? Possibly the most important question. Would Klaus and his family be pissed if we did? If she doesn't leave me alone, I most definitely will. I spare a glance at Esmeralda happily chatting along about how scary Esther and Finn were. Klaus promised to protect her, making her visibly relax, so I was thankful for it. But it wasn't his job. If either of them ever thought about hurting her, I would kill them.
Esmeralda POV
"And then you picked us up, and now you're all caught up." I finished my 10-minute rendition of the tail of the time we ran into Finn and Esther. "Sis? You ok?" I asked Ev. "Hmm." She hummed glancing over at me, "Oh, yeah. I'm fine." She said with a nod, and I wasn't sure whether she was convincing me or herself.
"Ok. I love you, sis." Evelynn smiled brightly at me. "I love you too, babe," Evelynn said casually. "So, good Christmas?" My sister asked sarcastically. "Oh yeah…" I pause for dramatic effect. "The best," I say playfully, making Ev laugh. "Oh," She sighs, "You are the best little sister ever." She told me with a smile, which made me beam with happiness.
It took us two more minutes to arrive at Klaus's house. Getting out of the car, Evelynn started giving me instructions. "Go inside, and take a shower. I know you didn't take one this morning. Then, we'll do presents? How about that?" Evelynn askes me, and I literally start jumping up and down in excitement. However that all stop when I see someone standing in the doorway.
"James."
So it was fun, and as usual, I hope you enjoyed it. I know I've over-expanded it since it's no longer Christmas, but I'm trying to keep chapter-length similar to one another. However, the Christmas chapters will end next week. Please Review.
With love,
