A/N: Thank you guys so much for the faves, follows and reviews! Every comment has been a bright star in this awful year's pitch blackness! A post to celebrate it's end. May next year be better :D
Spirit: Yeah, Wes had at least two year's worth of 'I knew it's' to get out. Hope it wasn't too annoying. Jailing Vlad's employees for working for him is grossly unfair…but it's the kind of thing a grossly unfair power-abusing Mayor would write in a law to keep any employees who found out from revealing his secret. He's evil like that.
Guest: You guessed the next chapter! Congrats :D Hope you enjoy!
Episode 12
("Release and Repeal!")
"Hello again, welcome to Ghost Station! This is Tina Tori and Isamu Diaz at the protest demanding freedom for Tucker Foley, Sam Manson, Danny Fenton aka Danny Phantom, and their families from this very GIW facility."
("Release and Repeal!)
"Harsh punishment too. I mean, he was just fourteen?"
"Seventeen now, which is still underage and locked in a facility debatably immoral for adult imprisonment. Which is why tens of thousands have gathered, chanting "Release and Repeal": a demand to release those imprisoned in the facility and repeal the even more controversial Anti-Ecto act."
"Isn't today a school day? There's an awful lot of kids here."
"One more mystery to unravel, let's start with this young man. Excuse me, Mr…"
"Dash Baxter. Casper High's Star Football player."
"Sure. So, what brings you out here instead of the classroom on a weekday?"
"Like the GIW cared about classes when they arrested Danny Fenton…Phantom…whatever. But the teachers aren't so bad. I guess. They let us go protest if we wanted to and most of them are out here with us."
"History in action, no doubt. Did you know Danny Fenton? Was he in your class?"
"…yeah, we shared a class or two. Ran into each other in the halls or cafeteria. I um, didn't really know him well. Before. I never would have guessed Danny Fentu-on was Danny Phantom, so I didn't even know him as well then as I thought. And I, well…at least I never locked him up like these GIW jerks. Release and Repeal you white shits!"
"Brave New World Mr. Baxter, watch your language. We might not be in the classroom but I can still give you detention."
"They deserve it."
"The GIW may, but everyone else here and listening to the radio does not. I apologize Ms. Tori, Mr. Isamu."
"Mr. Lancer, fancy seeing you here again. A pity we keep meeting like this."
"A pity these things keep happening. Hunger Games, four of my students locked away with their families. Danny Fenton was Danny Phantom all along? I should have guessed. All these years, I had the clues: the exhaustion, the missed classes and detentions, the school work…or lack of it. Finally I have my answers but too late to do any good."
KRACKKAKOOOM!
"Was that the sound of the Ghost Zone tearing into the living world Isamu?"
"I think that was the sound of the Ghost Zone exploding into the living world."
"Either way, we have a ghost portal opening just outside the protest here—"
"—and conveniently the GIW's headquarters—"
"—Easily large enough to accommodate the thousands of ghosts entering our world. I can see into the ghost zone through the portal and it is packed worse than the craziest of Ember's concerts. A flood of ectoplasmic beings heading this way. An army of ghosts I can't see the end of."
"Is this the forth or fifth invasion Tina?"
"It's the first without Danny Phantom. This ghost army seems almost a mythological one. I see were-wolves, yetis—"
"—Oh holy shit that's a dragon! A ghost dragon just flew through the portal. It's gonna make a ghost out of the whole city and I don't think the GIW can do the knight in shining armor thing!"
"I don't feel comfortable asking a seventeen-year-old kid to do it either."
"…"
"…"
"Hello! M…M…Mx Dragon! I am Isamu Diaz—"
WHAHP! WHAHP! WHUMP!
"…a-and I am Tina Tori…Ghost Station, who might we have the honor of addressing?"
"I am Queen Dorathea of the Dragonlands."
"I am Frostbite, leader of the Far Frozen!"
"And I am Pandora, guardian of the world's evils."
"That's um, great. Introductions. Welcome one and…uh…all. So what brings your majestic, giant selves and your massive ghost armies to our little harmless really doesn't need burning down town?"
"Danny Phantom."
"The Great One."
"And the organization responsible for imprisoning him and his allies. Worry not young mortals, we come with our armies, but we come to protest in peace."
"Words cannot express my enthusiasm or all of Amity's for your amicable intentions but the GIW are notoriously violent towards ghosts. And not too keen on protests. From anyone."
"If we are not permitted to protest peacefully, we may do so violently, as necessary. As you can see, we brought signs…"
"But you helpfully attached them to spears, I see. Ice spears. Heh, if the GIW tries to turn this violent, things are going to get chilly."
"But they're thawing out now and to keep things thawed out I think the GIW needs another interview. It was wonderful meeting you and talking, peacefully, to all of you but right now I need to have some peace talks with the trigger-happy agents over there."
"What are you planning Tina? And how am I involved?"
"Tina Tori here with the GIW in the wake of Amity Park's very first ghost protest. So, Agent…K? What's the plan here? Because if you're going to shoot that spear-ready spooky crowd I would like a head's up. And a few minute's head start."
"We're working on the specifics—which are classified."
"I'm surprised to see you still with the GIW Agent K, didn't you aid a ghost just a few days ago?"
"Against another ghost who was possessing my partner. I did what was needed."
"Three children and their unwitting families have been charged for the same crime. Despite Danny's arguable offenses he has risked his life to save the town. You can't say he didn't do what was needed during the Pariah Dark invasion, yet he and his family and friends are still locked away and you are out here. That arrest doesn't look to have improved things either. Danny Phantom at his worst wouldn't raise and march an army here, let alone three."
"Hmmph, that ki—ghost would have found a way."
"Speaking of, is he classified as a child or a ghost?"
"That's not—"
"And what of the whereabouts of Vlad Masters? His crimes are much greater than Danny Fenton's, yet he has not been placed under any kind of arrest."
"Not for lack of trying. We're working on it…and that's also classified."
"Isamu Diaz, technically not supposed to be in the bowels of the GIW facility but it's amazing where the right suit, glasses and attitude can get you. And, here comes a 'co-worker'. Let's hear what they have to say in private."
Click. Click. Click. Click.
"Here's the deal Phantom…the GIW is inclined to pardon your parents, given some concessions on your part."
"You can't seriously arrest them? They weren't aiding me, they shot at me three days ago!"
"Nevertheless, in your human form…"
"And you can shove those concessions up your ass…unless they include Get Out of Jail cards for all my friends and family. I'll stay here but Sam, Tucker, Jazz, Ida and everyone's parents? They all walk out."
"If the GIW was willing to give up so many, you had better be willing to sign on for, let's call it a prison work program. You're going to help us capture ghosts. Any ghosts we want. For the rest of your existence."
"What? That's slavery? How can you guys…"
"And you'd better make that decision quick." Click. "The video I'm showing you is live from your friend's grandmother's cell…and my she doesn't look too good…"
"…Like she could give up the ghost. At any moment."
A/N: Right now I'd give anything to turn this scene into TV Show form. Or comic. Anything so I could zoom in on Danny and the GIW leader's expressions. Oh well, I hope you all enjoyed and Happy Trash 2020 Day!
