Epilogue
Later that night…
After the concert they had come home and spent hours wrapped up in each other making love. Drew hadn't told her just yet that he had all of his memory back but then again his mind had been too preoccupied with being inside of her that he wasn't really thinking about talking. Now though they were just laying in the afterglow, her head on his chest with her hand tracing random patterns near his bullet wound scar, and he was just thinking of a way to break the news to her. He didn't know why it's so hard, it's not bad news but at the same time he knew her fears of how he'd respond to his memories of the last seven years coming back. He had to tell her though, but as he geared himself up to tell her she spoke first.
"I can hear you thinking, you know." She said, fingers tapping his chest.
"Is that so?" He grinned and shook his head lightly. It was crazy to him how well she knew him.
"Yeah, so… what's up?" She said sitting up slightly and giving him a questioning look.
"Well, I just have something I need to ask you." He started. Aside from telling her about his memories there was one other thing he's been yearning to do for the last month and that was marrying her, again. After all he did promise himself when he was in the hospital that if she wasn't already his wife he'd marry her all over again and that was the plan. He was going to do it tonight at the concert but he got his memories back and it changed his plans. He wanted to propose to her without his memories so that she wouldn't think it was just because he remembered their life together, considering she still had some doubts that would pop up about how too good to be true this new life was.
"Alright then, are you going to ask me or are you going to just stew in your thoughts?" She said watching his face as he contemplated whatever it was that was going through his head. He looked too serious for her liking and she was starting to wonder if he was remembering something and wanted to ask about it without setting off her fears. They had talked about their relationship and how it came tumbling down before his disappearance and their night together in the treehouse that resulted in their little bean, but with Drew not remembering they had basically agreed to just leave it all in the past and move forward. Just as they had before, Sam had a little trouble doing that at times because she still had trouble believing that she was no longer the hard luck kid that had to fight for everything good in her life without it costing her anything in exchange.
"I'm sorry." He said and brushed her hair out of her face before sitting up and leaning against the headboard and pulling her against him. "This isn't how I wanted to do this but I can't walk any longer, so…" he said reaching into the nightstand drawer and pulling out the ring he had stashed there ever since he brought it a week after they got back together. He hid his hand from her sight and took a deep breath before continuing. "I know I've only been back for a couple of months and that things are really great as they are now, but I love you Sam, I love you so much that I can't imagine spending another day just loving you as your boyfriend and father of your children. I want to be your husband." He said, bringing the ring box out of hiding, making her pull back with a gasp. "So with all of that said, will you marry me?" He asked softly as he watched the emotions play across her face one by one as she stared at the ring.
Happiness, that was the first emotion that hit her, like a tidal wave. She was happy he wanted to marry her again because had he not asked she wasn't sure that she would've been able to keep herself from being the one to ask, she had done it before there were no qualms about doing it again and soon. Fear, that was the second emotion to hit her and it came at her like a mack truck. The doubts that she had held at bay started swirling in her mind again but her heart would've let her mind get in the way this time because before she could even blink the third emotion hit her. Love, that was the third emotion to hit her… an all consuming, overwhelming, unconditional, irrevocable love that had her placing her hand on her heart and looking in his eyes to find him watching her with the same love she was feeling now on his face, and a hint of what looked like uncertainty. It was at that moment she realized that she hasn't spoken since he asked her his question.
She smiled reassuringly and reached a shaky hand to caress his face before speaking the one word that would make him the happiest man on the planet. "Yes." In a split second she watched the uncertainty disappear from his eyes and the biggest smile she's ever seen him have appeared on his face.
"Yes?" He whispered excitedly.
"Yes. Drew, yes of course I will marry you." She said clearly with a matching smile on her face. "I want nothing more than to spend the rest of forever with you." She told him with 100% certainty.
"Good, because there's no way I will ever let you go again." He promised. This was one promise he would never break.
"There's no way I will ever leave you." She swore and she meant it with everything in her. She would never leave him. "Now are you going to put that beautiful ring on my finger and kiss me or are we just going to stare at each other for the rest of the night/morning?" She asked holding her hand out for him to place the ring on her finger.
"Well, I can't say that I couldn't stare at you all day but the urge to see you finally wearing this ring wins today." He said with a grin as he finally placed the ring on her finger.
"It's so beautiful." Sam said admiring the ring. It was a platinum infinity diamond and emerald engagement ring with a damn near flawless cushion cut diamond in the center from what she could tell. She loved it, it wasn't too fancy or flashy, it was different and unique like their relationship.
"Yeah, it is." He said not even bothering to look at the ring. He knew the ring was beautiful and even knew it would look even better on her finger but nothing compared to her beauty to him. Especially while she sat there in all her naked glory with her messy hair, just admiring her engagement ring with a smile on her face.
"So, diamonds and emeralds huh? Someone's a bit of a romantic isn't he?" She smirked as she straddled him and placed her left hand on his chest and the right on the nape of his neck to play with his hair.
"Only for you. I mean I'm going to love you for an eternity hence the diamonds but the emeralds also represent the rebirth of that love over each memory loss, the rebirth of us as our hearts found their way back home, the rebirth of our family. They're also supposed to represent fertility and I know we've talked about our little bean but I know you're still scared to try again, but when you are ready maybe the emeralds will give us more good fortune and happiness if or when that time comes again." He told her sincerely as he held her hand tighter to his chest and caressed the ring with his thumb.
"Fuck, I love you so much." She said in a choked up voice before kissing him with all the passion she felt burning inside of her in the moment.
"I love you too." He whispered before deepening the kiss and returning her passion in kind. Soon enough, things progressed as they always did and they ended up making love until the sun came up. Neither one really got any sleep before their bedroom door was being knocked on by their two rambunctious morning loving children, but they didn't regret any of it. After they got dressed they let the kids in and told them that they were getting married and the look of joy on both kids' faces made their hearts melt. Needless to say it ended up being a very happy day for their little family.
Two weeks later…
It was their wedding day and keeping the tradition of simplicity Sam and Drew decided to keep it small only inviting twenty people closest to them. Their two previous weddings we're definitely smaller than this one but that was because they didn't have their full support system like they did now. The core support system for Sam being her mom, sisters, brother, Monica, and even her father who she's been on better terms with lately. Maxie was still her closest friend but since she couldn't attend she planned the wedding for them. Drew's core support system in Port Charles outside of her had been Monica, Curtis and Elizabeth, even her mom and sisters for the last 5 years of his life but now that had changed. It wasn't only just them, but now it was his two childhood best friends Simon and Natalya and the doctor that healed him in Afghanistan, who Sam thought was an absolute laugh riot.
Sam had finally met Simon, Natalya and their children a month ago when they finally came back to New York. They hit it off immediately and so did their kids and now they were there in Ireland with them and everyone else that was invited to the wedding. Drew had asked her if they could get married anywhere, where would she want it to be and at first she was tempted to say they could just have it at the mansion for all she cared because she just wanted to marry him. But then she thought about it and remembered a brief moment in her childhood where she dreamed of her Prince Charming and their dream wedding. In that dream she got married on a cliffside filled with hills of green overlooking the ocean, she didn't really know the name of the place at the time but it was beautiful. So after she told him that, the love of her life in all of his Prince Charming like glory said he'd make it happen.
And happen it did, he called Maxie and got her to take care of the details which mainly just consisted of her designing Sam's dream dress, a simple yet elegant design, taking care of the fittings and other little things. Drew took care of all the flight planning, hotel stays securing a minister and finding the perfect location for the ceremony. Perfect was an understatement she thought as she looked at the scenery around her. The rolling hills of endless green and the ocean view and the sun about to set behind them, it was so beautiful. But not more beautiful than the man standing in front of her, holding her hands with that magnetic smile on his face. The wedding was about to start and neither one of them could contain their excitement. The minister was speaking about love and doing the usual spiel about how they're going to say their own vows.
"Samantha, would you like to go first?" The minister asked.
"Yes." She said, taking a deep breath. "I just have to say that I love you. I love you so much and sometimes I still can't believe you're real and that this is not just a dream. You make me happier than anyone I've ever been with in my life and you are the best man I've ever known. I just want to thank you for coming back to me and for loving me. You've shown me time and time again what real unconditional love is supposed to feel like and how a true partnership is supposed to be. You've given me a life that I never thought I could have and I'm just so thankful that I get to spend the rest of my life with you. So from this day forth I vow to love, cherish and be your partner in everything that life throws our way." She vowed wholeheartedly.
"I love you too, words don't do any justice in explaining exactly how much, I just love you beyond reason. I woke up from three different comas within the last five years with only your face or your voice there to bring me back from the brink. Two of those were before I got to truly know you for the amazing, beautiful and intelligent woman that you are and I fell in love with you every single time you opened your heart to me. I fall more and more in love with you everyday Sam. You are my heart, you are my soul, you are my compass when I'm lost and my anchor when I drift too far away from the shore. You're my best friend, my everything and I'm going to love you forever. I can't wait to see what the rest of forever has in store for us. So… from this day forth I vow to love, cherish and be your partner in everything that life throws our way." He vowed earnestly.
"The rings?" The minister asked as Danny and Scout walked up with their parents' rings in their hands. "Thank you little ones… now Samantha, place Andrew's ring on his finger and repeat after me. With this ring I take you Andrew to be my lawfully wedded husband."
She slid the ring on his finger and felt as if her heart would burst if she didn't get to kiss him soon. She didn't have to wait long because as soon as he placed the ring on her finger and repeated the words back to her his lips were on hers before he finished the word wife. Everything in her world stopped at that moment and it was just them as she returned the kiss in kind. She didn't even hear the minister pronounce them husband and wife, nor did she hear the applause from their family behind them. They were finally married again and this moment was everything to her, then she thought about his vows and a realization crossed her mind and she pulled back from the kiss with a gasp, her hand on his face as she looked into his eyes to see if she was just imagining things or not. When she understood that she wasn't just imagining things she kissed him again, deeper this time and held him tighter against her. So tight she could feel him starting to harden against her but she wasn't even thinking about that right now.
She broke the kiss again. "You remember." She said breathlessly.
"I do. I was going to…" but before he could say anything else they were bombarded with hugs from their kids and their family so this conversation would be put on pause for the moment. The sun had set and the sky was just clouds of beautiful orange and pink so everyone decided to head back to the hotels for the reception in their penthouse suite. Why they decided to have it in their suite was a question they ended up asking themselves repeatedly through the entire time their family was there. Sam may not have been thinking of it before but Drew couldn't keep his hands off of her the whole time and the realization that they couldn't sneak out because their reception was in their room didn't make it easier. She was close to just saying fuck it before everyone decided to leave and her mom decided to take the kids with her, earning a huge thank you from both her and Drew.
After her husband closed the door she turned to him and asked. "Soo, how long have you remembered?"
"Uh, you wanna talk about that now? I thought we were going to… you know, consummate our marriage." He said with a wink as he started to walk towards her.
She held her hand up and made him stop. "We will, but first I'd like to know. If you tell me the truth I'll give you a wedding night you'll never forget but if you don't you're going to be taking a cold shower. So tell me." She said as she walked to him and caressed his body with her hands. She was bluffing of course, she was going to fuck him regardless but how hard she was going to ride him depended on his answer.
"I've had all of my memories since the night I proposed to you. I remembered as I was singing to you at the concert. It just all hit me all at once as I sang those words to you, our life and I knew that everything was right in my world again. I just didn't tell you the night I proposed because I knew you still had some fears about how my memories returning would affect us. I was going to propose that night anyway, memory or not, I brought the ring a week after I got home. I had plans on making you my wife again as soon as I knew we were divorced. You had me sprung before I ever even truly knew you again." He told her truthfully.
"Well Mr. Cain, you surely do have a way with words." She whispered softly as her left hand made its way up to his face and caressed his beard, her thumb tracing his lips in kind. "Now would you care to show your wife what this beautiful mouth can do in the bedroom?"
"Why, it would be a pleasure." He grinned like a fool before kissing her and picking her up by her ass, making her straddle him as he carried her to the bedroom.
He broke the kiss once they reached the threshold and looked at the room. "Wow, Maxie certainly went all out." There were candles everywhere, soft music playing in the background and rose petals strewn about with a bunch on the bed spelling out Mr. and Mrs. Cain. Drew chuckled.
"She certainly did, too bad it's about to get ruined." Sam said with a fake pout before biting his lip. She was hungry and not for food and as beautiful of a job Maxie did, she did not come into the bedroom to look at the scenery.
Drew growled and ground her against his hardness making her moan. "You're right, I mean my wife did ask me to remind her what I can do with my mouth. I think it's only fair to just go ahead and dive right in." He said with a mischievous smirk as he tossed her onto the bed before climbing on top of her and kissing her breathless. He kissed and caressed his way down her body before reaching the zipper of her dress and pulling it off of her body.
He left her heels on as he knelt back down and picked one leg up before kissing every inch of it and then doing the same to the other. He lingered and nipped when he reached her inner thighs closest to her heat. She was getting impatient, he knew but he was going to take his time. She was soaked so he knew that almost as soon as he touched her she would be done for. He pulled her panties off and kissed and licked and sucked around her outer lips, never quite touching her where she wanted him too just driving her closer and closer to the brink before diving in.
Sam let out a combination of a moan and a scream when he finally decided to take pity on her and give her what she wanted. The man really did work wonders with his mouth, he licked and sucked and nibbled on her clit making her climb higher and higher into oblivion. She was so worked up from all of his earlier ministrations that just as Drew predicted she didn't last long after he started to eat her out. One more suck on her clit had her screaming his name as she came into his mouth. The taste of her juices always fueled him so he dove right back in quickly sending her into another orgasm this time from a combination of his fingers and his mouth.
Sam barely had time to catch her breath before he was naked and back on top of her kissing her, and letting her taste herself on his lips. She moaned, loving it and loving how it made her wetter. She decided to pay him back in kind so she used her strength and flipped them over and nipped at his lip before kissing her way down his body. Always making sure to kiss his scars as she went reminding herself that he made it back to her. She was at his belly button before he pulled her back up and shook his head no before speaking the six words that drove her crazy.
"I want you to ride me." So she did, hard and fast and relentlessly bringing them both to climax three times before collapsing on his chest sated and exhausted.
One month later…
"Babe." Sam called out as she turned on the light and sat up in their bed. It was almost four in the morning and he was sure to be grumpy with her waking him up but she had to do this now before she chickened out. When he didn't stir she shook him. "Drew! Wake up!" She said a little louder. That seemed to do the trick as he rolled over and looked at her like she was nuts. "Don't look at me like that, sit up. We need to talk."
"What's going on?" He asked, concerned at the tone of her voice. He sat up and glanced at the clock, 3:55am flashed in big bold numbers and he almost asked her if it could wait until the morning but he saw the look on her face and knew that wouldn't go over well.
"I'm ready to talk about having another baby. I'm not ready to have one yet but I'm ready to have that conversation. I know it's late but I just have to do it now before I chicken out."
"Okay… okay babe, yeah I'm ready whenever you are."
"Do you know if you actually want us to have another child?" She asked him softly.
"Honestly? Yeah babe I would love to have another baby with you, but if it's not something you want or something you're uneasy about then I'm not going to hold it against you or be upset. I see why you're gun shy about it, all of your pregnancies have gone well until they didn't and then our little bean didn't even make it to the second trimester. And I know that pregnancy was the one that gutted you babe and I'm sorry I wasn't here and that the stress that caused you to lose it was about me. I wish I could turn back time and keep you from losing him or her but I can't and I'm sorry."
"It's okay, I know it wasn't my fault even though sometimes I still blame myself which is why I haven't bothered to stop taking my birth control but it wasn't your fault either. You were halfway across the world trying to make it back to us, how could I blame you for not being here? I want to have another baby with you too but I'm scared. I can't lose another child Drew, I just can't."
"You won't." He said vehemently. "You won't Sam, because you won't be alone this time, you won't be stressed, and you won't be having to deal with anything unnecessary. If we decide to do this, if you want to pull the goalie babe just do it. And when you find out that you're pregnant and you tell me about it I'm going to make sure it's the simplest pregnancy you've ever had. Me, the kids, our moms and your doctor, we're all going to make sure you're very well taken care of throughout the entire pregnancy. Then nine months later we're going to have another beautiful little blessing in our arms and then our family will be complete."
"You think so?" She asked hopefully with tears in her eyes.
"No. Sam I know it, now come here I want to hold you." He said, pulling her in his arms and resting her against his chest.
"So did you mean that, when you said to just pull the goalie when I'm ready?" She pulled her head back to look at him.
"Yes. Whenever you're ready, I will be too." He said as he kissed her lips softly.
"Okay." She yawned after they broke the kiss. "We can go back to sleep now." She said as they slid back down and she laid her head back on his chest. "Goodnight Drew."
"Goodnight Sam." He smiled softly as he closed his eyes. That night they both dreamed of a beautiful little baby with their daddy's bright eyes and their mother's dark locks.
Three months later…
"I pulled the goalie." Sam announced to her husband as he walked into the kitchen and started drinking the cup of coffee that was awaiting him as he sat down.
He looked at her as he choked on his drink. "When?" He asked her.
"About a week after we had our conversation about it." She answered.
"And?" He questioned quietly.
"And according to Dr. Lee I'm about 14 weeks and five days pregnant. Everything is progressing normally, my stress levels are low, the baby is healthy and so am I." She said with a beaming smile.
"So it's official, official? We're having another baby and everything is okay?!" He asked excitedly, standing up from his chair and going around the table to her.
"Yes." She told him softly and before she knew it she was picked up and being twirled around. "Drew!" She laughed.
"I'm sorry, I'm sorry." He said as he stopped spinning and just held her. "I don't want to make you throw up." He laughed. "I'm so happy."
"Me too. We made it past the danger zone, I'm sorry I waited so long to tell you, I just had to know that I wasn't going to get your hopes up only to have it come crashing down. Plus I didn't even bother to find out until yesterday, I was too afraid to get my own hopes up to find that it was nothing, especially since the symptoms have been subtle."
"It's okay babe, I understand I'm just glad you told me and yeah I haven't noticed anything off with you myself. Are you saying that this little noodle had been taking it easy on you and sparing you the morning sickness that their siblings did not?"
"That is exactly what I'm saying. In fact I have been feeling very rejuvenated lately." She said saucily.
"Oh really?" He asked cheekily.
"Really." She said seductively before pulling him into a fiery kiss. "Call the office, you're going to be taking the rest of the day off today." She said with a mischievous smirk as she broke the kiss.
"Yes ma'am." He said with a grin. Life was good, he thought.
And it was only going to get better from there…
The end.
