Sonic runs into the workshop, and sees Tails working on Ella's new room.
"Hey Sonic!"
"Hey Tails! The room is coming along nicely!"
"Thanks Sonic!"
The blue hedgehog runs back outside and accidentally rams into Amy at full speed.
"OOF!"
"Sorry, Amy!"
He helps her to her feet. Then he revs up his feet to go for a run before his dinner.
"Sorry Amy, gotta blast!"
"Sonic wai-PBTTTHHHH!!"
Sonic kicked up dust and dirt in Amy's face as he unleashed a Super Peel Out. She shakes the dirt out of her hair before glaring at Sonic's retreating blue streak.
"Sonic…"
She sighs before heading back into the workshop.
Meanwhile, the Blue Blur was out running in the forest again. It is a nice sunset, but he isn't paying attention to that. He is lost in thought.
(I wonder who, and where, Ella's parents are? I need to find them, because Ella is not safe with us. Eggman can attack at any moment, and I seriously doubt that he would be against taking her prisoner. We need to find her family soon!)
He finishes his run, then heads off to his house to go sleep. As he walks into his home, he goes to his room to get some sleep. As he starts to sleep, he is transported to what he thinks is a dream, but will soon turn out to be...a new nightmare…
The Nightmare*
Sonic is running around playing with some Flickies in front of the cottage that they bought from the skunk. Longclaw sticks her head out the door and calls out to Sonic.
"OH SWEETIE! TIME TO COME BACK IN!"
"Aw Mommy…"
"Sonic. You can play with your Flickie friends tomorrow."
"Yes, Mommy."
Sonic runs to the door and hugs Longclaw. She carries him over to the table and then she disappears into the kitchen before bringing some food.
"You must be hungry from running around so much. I made us some chili for dinner."
"Mmmmm….chili…"
Longclaw chuckles, then they both dig in and eat. After they finish, Sonic goes into the living room, and his owl mom follows after cleaning the dishes. Suddenly, the place begins to shake. Sonic looks extremely scared, and Longclaw does too. Soon, a group of masked beings with long dreadlocks breaks into the building. Longclaw backs up as they approach the two. Then she has a sudden realization. She hands Sonic a pouch.
"Sonic, sweetie, you need to go. Take this pouch, it will help you when your life needs it."
"B-But Mommy? I'm scared!"
She pats his head.
"I'm scared too. But you need to be strong for me, ok?"
Sonic looks confused. The beings are advancing towards them. Longclaw takes out a Ring and throws it behind the young blue hedgehog. It turns into a portal.
"Sweetie let's go! Hurry!"
Sonic grabs Longclaw's wing, and runs towards the portal. However, one of the masked beings yanks Longclaw away from Sonic. As she is getting yanked away she makes a sudden realization and manages to kiss Sonic's head. The young 'hog turns around just as he is about to fall into the Ring Portal.
"Mommy!!"
"I love you, sweetie. Don't ever forget that!"
Suddenly his vision starts going white.
"NOOOOOOOOOO!!!!"
