AN: Hey, everybody. Just want to give a quick update: I've made the changes that I said I would in the previous AN for chapters 7-8, as well as another minor change, mainly about how long Meela was held prisoner, as well as changing how she calls her subjects from fiends to hive members. I hope you enjoy it, and I hope it would make sense as well. Plus, I've had to change a bit of the summary to make it make sense. So...hope you enjoy those changes, and I also hope you enjoy THIS chapter as well!
For the day, Meela's crow flew across the city's skylines, eyeing everything that is going on. Thanks to her connections, Meela can see the city from the same height as the buildings, and she could just imagine the amount of potential food and recruits from this city alone!
Then, as the evening rolled around, the crow arrived at SFIT to inspect Hiro and Karmi once more. The crow landed on a branch of a tree to see some students leaving. This is all thanks to the new curfew law, which had the students leave at around 7:30 PM. The crow could see numerous kids, but it could not see Hiro and Karmi. So, it flew off the branch and began to fly further into campus.
Then, the crow arrives at the window, and it saw Hiro, tinkering with a robotic body. The crow hopped in place for a closer look.
Hiro was still fixing up the new body for Baymax. He, however, is still thinking about what to say to his friends through his phone.
"Hmm...how am I gonna put this? I mean, given what we have encountered back at Akuma Island, I guess it shouldn't be too surprising for them. But, just because one might exist, doesn't mean the other might. *sigh* This might be difficult to try and convince." he said as he continued his work.
Then, the door opened, and Hiro could see Karmi peering inside. Immediately, Hiro's mind immediately wiped the memory from his mind.
"Hey, Karmi. What's up?" he asked. Karmi raised her brows.
"Come on, genius boy. School is over early, today." she said. Hiro raised his brows.
"Really? What time is it?" he asked.
"7:30 PM." Karmi replied. Hiro widened his eyes as he blinked.
"Woah. I...I didn't expect me to lose track of time!" he said as he scratched the back of his head. Karmi scoffed as she shook her head, chuckling for a moment.
"Let's just go, genius boy. We don't wanna cause any trouble with the law." she said. Hiro nodded.
"Yeah, you're right. I'll be outside in a bit." he said as he nodded. Karmi nodded before stepping away from the room, leaving Hiro alone. Immediately, the memory came rushing back, and he just sighed to himself as he groaned. Then, his eyes turned to look, seeing the restored healthcare chip of Baymax, still lying on the desk as if nothing had happened to it. Hiro then thought of how the rest are gonna react to seeing it and sighed to himself.
"This is gonna be interesting…" he said in a sarcastic voice before he began to pack his stuff up.
Meanwhile, the crow outside tilted its head as it saw the scene play out. Then, it flew off to follow Karmi.
"Now...let's see where my new daughter is going." Meela's voice stated inside the crow's mind while its eyes glow red for a few moments. It then spotted her walking out of the building and eventually approaching a small family car. The crow then followed Karmi's car as it drove along the streets of the city.
Eventually, the car arrived in a house in Bernal Heights. The crow landed on a branch, watching Karmi and her family getting out of the car.
Meanwhile, back at the mansion, Meela, who was now in her room resting, had her eyes closed for a while so that she could focus on what the crow is seeing. Now that she knows where her target is living, she opened her eyes and grew an evil smile.
"Perfect...Soon, Karmi. Soon, you will be with a better family, you and your precious friend." she said, referring to Hiro. Then, she turned to look at the window, seeing the bright orange sky as the sun sets, its reflection visible on the ocean. Meela hummed to herself as she soon stood up, walking away to meet her two new subordinates.
Soon, she found them in one of the rooms, helping Boian placing a sofa on the floor, talking with one another. Meela smiled as she approached them.
"Hi again, you two." she greeted. Carrie and Lily looked back and smiled at her.
"Hello, mistress. How do you like the placement of the couch? We got it from a storage facility." Lily explained.
"We nearly got caught by a security guard, but we managed to snap his neck and burn the body." Carrie added. Meela giggled at this and shook her head.
"Oh, you two...anyways, when you're finished with moving the furniture, I've got an important job for you." she instructed. Lily and Carrie perked their heads up. Meela instructed that, when night fully comes, they must enter the streets and begin to build up a small army. She would do it herself, but the sisters know the city better. Carrie and Lily grinned, as that meant more blood for them, as well as new friends! Then, Carrie asked,
"What about Big Hero 6?"
Meela's smile grew.
"If you happen to find them...fight them, but don't kill them. I want to see if they are worthy of being my loyal Praetorians." she explained. Carrie and Lily nodded in understanding, before Carrie than asked,
"Oh, one last question: what about the two children that you love so much?"
Meela's smile then turned into an evil grin.
"I know where Karmi is located...soon, she will be my daughter, once and for all…" she spoke with a sinister tone. Carrie and Lily grinned as well, all of their fangs growing…
Later that night, the gang is now donning their super-suits for their night patrol, only this time, without Baymax. This time, they are riding on a couple of Skymaxes: Hiro, Fred, and Gogo riding on one, and Wasabi and Honey riding the other.
Suffice to say; it is a bit uncomfortable for everyone. But it is especially frightening for Wasabi, who is clutching onto one of Skymax's arms for dear life.
Eventually, the two Skymaxes landed on top of a building to allow some breathing room for the five. Wasabi, rather jittery, rubbed his shoulders.
"Oooh, god. I definitely miss riding on Baymax. At least I have a guarantee I won't fall off." he muttered as he shook his head. Honey approached him and gently patted him on the shoulder.
"Sorry, Wasabi. But until I can fix Baymax's body, this will have to do for now...unless you want to use your car." he said. Wasabi pouted.
"Why can't we use my car?" he asked. Hiro pointed out.
"One, thanks to the curfew laws, the police are gonna think we're civilians. Two, your car doesn't go as far or as fast as Skymax. Three (and this relates to point one), if the police catch us, there's a chance that our identity would be exposed."
"I'm sure speedy maniac here can try and make my car go faster." Wasabi stated, pointing to Gogo. Gogo just chuckled.
"Are you STILL upset over that? Come on, baby. Let it go." she said as she nudged his with her elbow. Fred chuckled.
"Yeah, man. Just Let it Go! Let it-Ooof!" Fred went, being punched in the side by Gogo.
"Shut. Up! I HATE that song! Even after 16 years, it STILL is everywhere! And I thought those yellow pill-shaped things are annoying!" she hissed. Wasabi glared at her.
"You did NOT just say that, Gogo." he said. Hiro and Honey looked at one another in amusement before the former approached them.
"Guys. We need to focus! Alright?" he said, chuckling a bit at their antics. Even with the loss of Baymax, the rest of the team still brings a smile onto his face. A bit later, the team agreed to split up for the night in order to gain greater ground. Hiro is with Gogo and Honey Lemon, and Fred is with Wasabi.
Meanwhile, in another part of the city, a man in his late 30s was speed-walking along the streets, a look of worry on his face.
"Oh god...why would my boss just keep me inside the office? Why couldn't he just let me leave as soon as the curfew laws allow?!" he complained, before he stomped his left foot on the ground, frustration on his face.
"Excuse me, sir?" a feminine voice asked. The man gasped for a moment before he turned around to see Lily standing there, a look of concern on her face. He sighed in relief before he shook his head.
"Nah, I'm good, young lady. I'm just getting back to my home, which is something that I should have been 3 hours ago!" he said, groaning as he glared at the ground. Lily hummed to herself.
"You too?" she asked. The man looked at her, raised brows. "I've been held up as a cashier at the nearby Walmart's for four hours! It's ridiculous!" she said as she approached him. The man hummed to himself.
"Seriously? Oh, dear...I guess our managers really don't care about the lives of their employees, much less anything that is happening outside." he said. Lily smiled a bit as she shook her head.
"I just hope my wife will accept it. Our relationship is...well," he explained. Lily nodded.
"I understand. My younger sister is a bit worried as well. I've got to get to my apartment in Hayes Valley." she said. The man hummed as his brows raised.
"Hey, that's my neighborhood too." he said with a slight smile. Lily perked her head in interest.
"Really? That's great. Wanna head there together? That way, we would maybe keep an eye out for each other in case that thing comes back." she suggested. The man nodded with a smile.
"Of course. That will work, Miss…" he began before pausing, not sure who her name was. Lily smiled as she extended her hand.
"Petra Deral. Nice to meet you." she said, changing her name. She knew that the disappearance of her and Carrie are recent, and since he doesn't seem to recognize her, she didn't want to risk exposing herself. The man, thankfully, took the bait and shook her hand.
"Michael Goffen! Pleasant to meet you too, ma'am." he greeted. Lily smiled before they began to walk ahead. However, Lily's eye caught Carrie staring at them hungrily. Lily nodded, and Carrie grinned as well before she disappeared, getting ready to ambush in a darker area.
Back at the ceiling, Hiro, Gogo, and Honey were hopping across the rooftops, examining the area for any threats. So far, there doesn't seem to be any threats.
So for now, they stopped to take a small breather.
Hiro, all the while, looked at the city. However, he wasn't admiring the scenery. All he could think about was the encounter with Meela at SFIT. He remembered some of the encounters, but there was something that was missing...like an important piece of a puzzle missing. He grunted to himself as he shook his head.
"Hiro? Is something wrong?" asked Honey as she approached him from the right.
"Ngh...I feel like I'm forgetting something important." he said. Gogo looked at him and raised a brow, before blowing a gum.
"What's up, kid? Is this something to do with the outburst earlier today?" she asked. Hiro shrugged.
"I just...maybe!" he said, still frustrated. Honey and Gogo looked at one another before they looked back at Hiro.
"Hiro? Are you sure you don't remember anything that day?" asked Honey. Hiro pondered for a moment, before the memory of him and Karmi meeting with Meela earlier that day. He remembered the moment where she appeared on campus at incredible speed, all the way to where he offered to take her away. Afterward, nothing came up. So he told them of the encounter. Honey and Gogo raised their brows.
"Really?" asked Honey. Hiro nodded.
"Yes, I'm telling you guys the truth. That woman is...very off-putting. Plus, I'm not sure how she could do that without any type of technological aid." he explained. Honey tilted her head as a thought came into her mind.
"So...you think she might have something to do with the mansion we've been at?" she asked.
"Ooh! Ooh! I think I might have an idea!" Fred's voice said over the commlink, making the three jump in place. The three panted for a moment before Gogo narrowed her eyes.
"Fred! Don't scare us like that!" she said.
"And why were listening in?" asked Hiro.
"Sorry, little bud. But you left your commlink on." Fred replied. Hiro raised his brows, before sighing.
"Maybe. Anyways, what are you suggesting?" he asked.
"Maybe, that woman you and Karmi saw...was a VAMPIRE!" Fred declared. Honey and Gogo stared at one another in confusion, while Hiro felt his heart skip a beat, though he was still unsure as to why. Honey then cleared her throat as she said,
"Uh...Freddie. You know that vampires don't exist, right?" she asked.
"Fred. You really gotta get your head out of comics." Wasabi's voice said from the commlink as well.
"Well, I dunno. We DID survive a werewolf attack (most of us anyway) and we did save Honey Lemon from a living gargoyle statue! Those aren't supposed to exist, right?" asked Fred. Everyone froze for a moment as they realized that Fred had a good point.
"...Point taken, Fred." Hiro stated. Gogo, now wanting to be alone without their intrusiveness, then just stated,
"Alright, I think we've got it. Now if you don't mind, nitwit, Hiro and I need to chat for a moment."
She then turned off her commlink before doing the same to Hiro's and Honey's. Now that the three are without interruptions, Hiro then asked,
"So...what do you two think?"
Honey and Gogo looked at one another and shrugged.
"I don't know, Hiro. I mean, the woman, from what you've described, didn't seem to show anything that would suggest that she's a vampire." Honey replied.
"Aside from the super-speed. But that could be some type of mutant or something. I mean, Fred does have a good point: werewolves aren't supposed to exist and gargoyles can't come to life, yet two of them almost murdered us. But…just because one famous monster exists, that doesn't guarantee the existence of another." she stated. Hiro nodded before Honey approached him.
"True...I just…" he said. Gogo and Honey then approached him.
"Hiro, if this woman is pestering you, let us know. Vampire or not, we will protect you from her. Understand?" Honey asked with a smile. Hiro smiled back, before,
Bang! Bang!
A couple of gunshots rang throughout the city, and the three turned to the direction of the sound.
"What the?" asked Honey. Gogo didn't hesitate, she got herself ready.
"Come on, guys! Someone might be in trouble!" Hiro said as he rushed ahead. Honey and Gogo nodded as they rushed ahead towards the sound, neither of them prepared for what is really happening…
For the past half an hour, Lily and Michael were walking along the streets, talking with one another. Michael enjoyed her company, so much so that he hardly noticed where they were going.
"Hahaha, that actually happened?" Michael asked. Lily nodded.
"Yep. Carrie was soaking wet! You should've seen her face." laughed Lily. Michael laughed alongside for a few seconds before they settled down. Then, Michael finally noticed where they were, and he frowned slightly.
"Uh, Ms. Deral? This isn't my neighborhood." he explained as he briefly looked around. Lily grinned as she shrugged. Then, her ears picked up the sound of footsteps approaching them rapidly. She grinned at this before approaching Michael.
"Well...you're right. It isn't." she said. Michael turned to look at her in alarm before he heard rapid footsteps as well. He then felt a hard kick on his left shin, making him shout in pain. He grunted as he saw another girl, Carrie, blowing her hair to the side and looking at Lily. They grinned before Lily kept him on his knees as she pulled aside his shirt on both sides.
"H-Hey, let me go!" Michael demanded as he fished in his pocket and pulled out a pistol. However, Carrie saw it coming and she grabbed his wrist, pulling it upwards as Michael inadvertently pulled the trigger, firing two shots into the air. Michael grunted as he felt pressure on his wrist before there was a crunching sound, and he screamed again.
However, he then heard the sound of roaring hisses, not like any creature he had heard before. He turned to the sources and saw Carrie and Lily, with their jaws lowering farther than normal, fangs and teeth sharp, and bright green and reptilian eyes. He then felt his head pulled back before they lunged towards his neck.
Michael screamed in pain as Lily and Carrie bit his neck and began to drink his blood. He feebly tried to push them off, but they were far too strong for him. All he could do was scream and struggle as he was pushed to the ground, legs, and feet scraping against the pavement while the girls fed on him, unfazed by the man's struggling.
Nearby, Hiro, Honey, and Gogo were rushing towards the sound as fast as they could, using Honey's chem balls as a way to travel across the roofs much quicker.
Then, once they got a bit further, their ears caught the sound of screaming down on the roadway. They froze for a moment and turned to see two girls, faces buried in the man's neck, the man's struggling and look of horror fading away and bits of blood spilling. Honey gasped while Hiro and Gogo's eyes widened in horror.
"He's in trouble! Come on!" Honey said as she launched several more chemballs down, creating bubbly cushions. Hiro, Honey, and Gogo jumped on them, landing on the ground safely before rushing towards the scene. Gogo was the first to react as she kicked Carrie off first. Carrie screeched as she was flung backward. Lily lifted her head up just in time to see Honey's chem ball, the ball creating a small explosive that didn't hurt her, but forcing her off of Michael.
Honey and Gogo immediately hopped over the man, standing in defensive postures. Hiro, meanwhile, inspected the man. Michael had his eyes closed, his skin was very pale, and there were bite marks seeping with blood on his neck. Hiro looked at Honey Lemon.
"Honey? You have something to seal the wounds?" he asked. Honey nodded, but just before she could type something up,
"Don't bother. It has already begun."
Everyone turned to see Carrie and Lily standing up, glaring at them with their fangs out. Gogo narrowed her eyes.
"What the hell is wrong with you two?!" she demanded. Carrie shrugged.
"We're just feeding ourselves. Nothing wrong with that!" she sassed. Gogo raised her brows. Carrie then pointed at her fangs and the blood on her lips.
"Do you not see these?" she asked. The three looked at her for a moment, before their eyes widened. Honey pointed at them.
"T-Those can't be real. You girls are…" she said as the realization dawned on her. Carrie and Lily grinned again, laughing at their reactions.
"I love this. Don't you, Carrie?" she asked. Carrie nodded.
"Of course, I can't blame them. We used to be the same until mistress showed us a way to a better life: the life of being a vampire." she replied.
"Who's your mistress?! Why did she do this to you two?!" Hiro asked as he gently set the body down. Carrie and Lily glared at them.
"Who she is is NONE of your concern! Now stand aside as we continue our mission." Lily stated. The three narrowed their eyes.
"Over our dead bodies!" Gogo stated as she got her disks ready. Lily and Carrie then looked at each other again.
"Alright. If you say so." Carrie said, and before Hiro knew it, he was grabbed from behind and flung further back. Honey and Gogo gasped as they saw Carrie having just appeared as if to teleport! At this point, Lily extended her claws and rushed towards them. Honey and Gogo had to step out of the way so that they didn't get clawed!
Hiro shook his head as he rubbed his back, only for him to look up to see Carrie rushing towards him. He yelped and stepped to the side as Carrie stomped on the wall, creating a dent on the nearby mail-box.
"Hiro!" Gogo called out and was about to rush to him, only for Lily to step in front of them, growling.
"Your fight is with me, you two!" she said. Honey and Gogo looked at her, and then at each other. They wanted to help Hiro, but Lily is far too fast for them to get anywhere near him. With gritted teeth, they knew that they must get through to her to save Hiro. They just hoped that Hiro could handle himself.
Hiro, all the while, was dodging punches from Carrie. The two paused for a moment, with Hiro panting. Carrie then grinned.
"For someone who had very little powers compared to the rest of the team, you're pretty quick." she said as she flexed her fingers. Hiro narrowed his eyes as he looked around, searching for anything to use as a weapon. Sadly, there doesn't seem to be anything. His friends are preoccupied, so he has no choice but to defend himself. So, he got himself into a fighting position. Carrie raised her brows.
"You're still gonna fight me? Hm. I like that. Shows you're not a coward." she said as she got into a fighting position. Hiro just narrowed his eyes, anticipating whatever Carrie has in store.
Immediately, Carrie super-sped to his back and swung her leg towards her. However, Hiro quickly dodged it and counterattacked with a hook to her chest. Carrie stumbled for a moment, and Hiro looked on in surprise. Then, his confidence grew slightly as he rushed to her. However, Carrie grabbed his arm and gave a mean left hook to his gut! Hiro tumbled towards the wall, creating a small dent on the wall. His armor, thankfully, endured most of the blow for him, but it was already cracking up. Hiro groaned as he got up. He looked to see Carrie rushing towards him, jaws wide and claws extending. Hiro yelped as he noticed a small pipe. He grabbed it and swung it forward, but Carrie chomped on the pipe, her strong jaws and sharp teeth snapping the metallic object with ease. Hiro yelped before he grabbed Carrie's wrists as she pushed him to the wall.
Hiro cringed as she chomped close to his face. With quick reflex, he swung his feet and hit her in the leg. This gave him a momentary chance to free himself, and he ran from the wall, but Carrie jumped forward and grabbed him, pinning him to the ground. The two wrestled with one another.
Meanwhile, Gogo tossed her disks at Lily, who used her superspeed him to dodge them with ease. Honey rushed forward and tossed some chemballs towards her, and Lily responded by swinging her left hand towards her, barely scraping her armor. Honey yelped in surprise as she looked at her armor, which had a claw mark. Lily grinned as she kicked her in the stomach, sending her tumbling fifteen feet back.
"Honey!" Gogo called, before staring at Lily, who laughed.
"This is exciting! Now I know how Carrie feels!" she said with a cheer. Gogo growled as she got her disks back and rushed towards her. Lily looked at her and grinned as she pounced to her, the two of them rolling along the ground.
While the battle was going on, Meela was heading over to Karmi's for a special visit.
Inside her home in the neighborhood of Bernal Hills, Karmi was staring at the outside window in her bed, her laptop on her laps. The whole day had been tiring for her, no thanks to the strange woman. She had no idea where she came from, or even what she did to Hiro.
Hiro…
Karmi frowned as she remembered Hiro struggling to remember what had happened after he left her alone to try and get the woman out. She bit her lower lip, concerned at what the woman had done to Hiro.
"Ugh...why did he have to go alone? I could've gone with him!" she said as she rubbed her forehead. She then shook her head, realizing that this won't change anything for her. So, she just stared at her laptop screen.
She didn't pay any attention to a familiar silhouette flying past the window.
Outside, the monstrous bat-demon landed on the ground. It then morphed back into Meela's human form. Meela looked ahead at the house, humming to herself.
"Very...quaint." she said before she looked at the door. She focused her eyes, and from her vision, she could see the interior of the house through the walls. Looking further up, there are three figures inside two separate rooms. Two of them are in one room, their heartbeats slow and steady. The other has a more rapid heart-beating sound. Meela grinned, instantly recognizing it.
"There you are…" she said before she walked towards the front door.
Back inside the room, Karmi was typing up another story on her laptop, pretty much involving her and her precious Captain Cutie. She briefly stopped to give her hands a break. Rubbing her face for a moment, she was about to resume writing before she heard the sound of something coming from downstairs. Karmi raised her head in confusion. It sounded like...footsteps. And they were coming upstairs. Karmi raised her brows for a moment, before shrugging, thinking that either her mom or dad have come back up after getting some water.
"I guess mom or dad must be thirsty tonight." she muttered to herself as the footsteps continued walking up the stairs and into the hall.
However, the footsteps stopped right in front of her door. Karmi looked at the door, panicking that she was typing in her laptop when she was supposed to be sleeping. She gritted her teeth as she closed the laptop and placed it on a nearby desk before covering herself up.
As she looked towards the wall, away from the door, she remained still, pretending to be asleep. The door can be heard slowly creeping open, making Karmi freeze up.
"Please leave, mom and dad. Please leave. I'm sleeping!" she said in her mind.
"I say...this is a nice room you have." a familiar voice spoke up, and Karmi's eyes widened in horror. That...was not her mother! Or her father!
She shot up straight and saw Meela looking into the room. Karmi screamed in horror as she crawled from her bed as Meela entered the room, unphased by her panics.
"Mom! Dad! Help me!" Karmi cried. Meela chuckled softly as she waved her hand with a flick of her wrist, and the door on its own slammed shut, trapping both of them inside. Karmi gasped in horror as Meela approached her.
"Hi again, Karmi!" she said with a smile. Karmi pointed at her, tears of fright beginning to stream down.
"What are you doing here?! How did you know where I live, you stalker?!" she demanded. At this point, footsteps from outside rushed towards the door, and the sounds of shouts erupted from the hall.
"Karmi! Karmi, sweetie! Let us in!" a woman's voice said.
"Karmi! We're coming! Get us inside now!" a man's voice added, and it wasn't long before their voices overlapped, their hands banging on the door. Meela, however, just laughed.
"Try as they might, they won't be opening the door until I am finished with what I am going to give to you." she said as she reached forward to stroke Karmi's cheek, only for her to slap it away!
"Fat chance! Are you here to rape me or something?!" Karmi shouted. The beating from the outside continued, but Karmi noticed that the door wasn't giving away. Meela shook her head to the question.
"Absolutely not. Even for someone like me, rape is far too disgusting. That's not why I am here." she said. Karmi, feeling like she is about to break down in tears, then gritted her teeth.
"What do you want from me, then?! You want money or something?!" she asked. Meela giggled again. Karmi, growing impatient, went to smack her again, only for Meela to grab her hand with ease.
"Karmi, look into my eyes." she said as her eyes once more grew bright green and reptilian. Karmi looked at the eyes with shock, before something began to creep into her body. She tries to struggle, but Meela had a firm grip on her, and her gaze was intense. Karmi couldn't look away. "There, little girl. Just relax." Meela instructed, and to Karmi, her voice was echoey and...soothing. Before long, her struggling ceased, and all Karmi could feel was the soothing presence Meela gave off. Meela smiled as she cupped her cheek.
"Oh, Karmi...ever since I woke up in this new world, there are many things that I find very intriguing. However...what intrigues me the most...are that little boy...and you." she began as she ran her fingers on her cheek. Karmi just remained motionless as Meela continued,
"From what I've been told of you; you are something special entirely. You, like your friend, are gifted, talented, and most importantly: passionate. It is something that I admire...and one that I desire, along with something else."
"Karmi, sweetie! Please!" Karmi's mother called out, her pleas ignored as Meela began to stroke Karmi's neck.
"You, my little daughter, are something that I've wanted in my life...a family. What I'm about to give you, will make us related to one another by blood. With this, your talents will be known for the future of my kind, and as a bonus: we will be together again...for all of eternity." she said. Karmi's subconscious mind tried her best to fight it, not believing what she said. However, almost every inch of her is trapped. So, all she could do was prepare.
Meela then moved her head to the side, pulled aside her PJ collar, and looked at the entirety of her neck. Letting her instincts take over, Meela quickly opened her mouth, growing all of her teeth and fangs before chomping down on Karmi's neck hard.
Karmi let out a gasp as Meela pushed her against the wall, drinking her blood in the process. Karmi simply stared ahead as her parents futilely tried to break into the room. The pain was unbearable, but she was unable to react to it thanks to this hypnosis. She felt the blood leaving her, and listened to Meela gulping down on the vital red cells, the latter moaning in the process.
After about 43 seconds, Karmi felt herself fading away as her head lolled to the side. Tears continued streamed down, but it went unnoticed.
Suddenly, Meela pulled away and threw her head back, allowing herself to pant and lick at her lips, small bits of blood dripping from her chin and down her neck. Meela then looked at a barely conscious Karmi, who was faintly gasping. Then, she gently set her down and lifted her own wrist up. She then extended her claw and cut open her wrist.
Karmi then saw the black liquid oozing from the wound. Meela smiled at seeing her, and before Karmi knew it, Meela forced the wound into her mouth. Karmi's body twitched for a moment as the vile-tasting liquid flowed down her throat.
"Shh...relax, young one. A few more pints of my blood, and you will have the power no other vampire (except for myself) will have…" she growled as she gently caressed her hair.
Half a minute later, she pulled back her wrist and the open cut healed instantly. Karmi's mouth had bits of the blood surrounding it, but Karmi herself was now unconscious. Meela then turned to the door, where the parents are still trying to knock it down. Meela grinned as she stood up.
"Before we leave...there's something I need to take care of." she said as she walked towards the door, leaving an unconscious Karmi on the floor…
Back at the battlefield, Hiro was panting as he grabbed his stomach, pain and exhaustion from the battle taking his toll. Carrie, on the other hand, had a bruise on her right eye, which healed almost instantly. Carrie looked on with a grin.
"Impressive, Captain. I didn't think you'd last this long." she complimented. Hiro grinned.
"Neither did I. Even with all the other villains my team and I fought, I never had to focus so hard on trying to evade and land a hit as much as with you and your sister. I'll give you that." he said. And it was true: Hiro had never in his life, not even during his time bot-fighting, felt so...alive.
Carrie chuckled.
"Thank you. However, I think this little squabble lasted long enough, so…" she went with a small pout before Hiro found himself pinned against the wall again grabbed by the throat. Carrie then tossed him back down to the ground before giving him a good kick to the side Hiro shouted in pain, but Carrie gave him no time to react as she grabbed him by the shoulder and punched him in the gut once again, HARD. Hiro found himself flying upwards, and as he fell back down, Carrie leaped up and gave him a brutal roundhouse kick to his ribs. The force shattered his armor, and Hiro was slammed against a waste container, destroying it.
"Hiro!" Honey and Gogo called out, and Hiro noticed them rushing towards them, only for Lily to pounce on them from behind, trapping them on the ground.
"No! Let us go!" Honey pleaded.
"Shut up!" Carrie's voice boomed, silencing the two of them. They looked on as Carrie approached Hiro, who was clutching his chest. He panicked upon seeing his armor being destroyed!
"No! No, no!" he said as he tried to get up, only to fall back down due to the pain. Carrie then grabbed him by the shoulder. Hiro tried to punch her, but she grabbed his right hand. She then turned to see Lily, Honey, and Gogo.
"Oh, don't worry, you two. We're not gonna kill you. Mistress sees great potential in you all. So...think of this as a painful gift." she said. Lily nodded.
"You betcha. This feeling is wonderful!" she agreed. Hiro grunted as Carrie grabbed him by the chin and moved it to the side.
"L-Let me go!" he said as he pushed her by the shoulder. Carrie just laughed.
"Don't worry...Hiro." she began, grinning as Hiro began to grow fearful. "One moment of agonizing pain, and you and your friends will be born anew."
"P-Please! I-I don't want to be a vampire!" he said. Carrie and Lily chuckled as the former moved his head aside.
"You don't have any choice in the matter." she simply stated before eyeing his neck. Then, her instincts took over and she opened her mouth, fangs extending. Hiro heard the growling, demonic hiss emitting from her, and he gritted his teeth as he tried desperately to push her away as she began to lean in closer to him. Tears streamed down as he remembered everything in his past life: his aunt, his brother, his friends...and even Karmi.
Lily then looked down at the girls, and after grinning, hissed at them as well, beginning to lean towards Honey's neck. Gogo gritted her teeth as she began to look around, searching for any of her disks that survived. Sadly, she could only see the remains of the disks, sliced in half by Lily's claws.
Carrie and Lily's fangs were hovering above Hiro and Honey's necks respectively. The two embraced the painful ending that was sure to come for them.
Thankfully, this was not to be!
"Cheers, love! The cavalry's here!" Fred's voice boomed from their helmets. Hiro opened his eyes just as Carrie's fangs were about to pierce the armor around his neck.
Suddenly, a blast of flame erupted from above, and Carrie immediately felt the heat, screeching as she jumped back, releasing Hiro from her grasp. Lily, who was about to bite Honey, looked up to see her sister being pushed away by flames. She narrowed her eyes, but before she could do anything, Wasabi appeared from her left and swung his blades close to her, forcing her off!
The two were pushed back, not expecting the other members to arrive soon!
Hiro, meanwhile, was panting in relief. He looked at Fred and Wasabi, who were helping the girls up.
"Fred! Wasabi!" he said as he got up and attempted to rush towards them, only for him to collapse from the pain. The four turned back and rushed towards him.
"Hiro! Hiro, are you alright?!" asked Honey as she and Gogo helped him up. Gogo glared at her.
"Oh, I dunno! Ask the boy who's been kicked around by a strong vampire!" she insisted, making Honey flinch for a moment. Then, she turned to look at Fred and Wasabi. "And what took YOU TWO so long?!" she asked.
"There was a robbery by a group of gangsters! They were tough, so we had to concentrate! When we tried to contact you all, we heard a bunch of grunts and screams, followed by screeches, so we came as fast as we could. By the way, what were those screeches that we've heard?!" asked Wasabi as he pointed to his commlink.
"Ooh, maybe it's...watch out!" Fred shouted. Wasabi turned around and managed to grab Carrie, who pounced on top of them, snarling angrily. Fred then noticed Lily extending her claws out, and he used his flamethrower.
"Fire repellant!" he cried, and it worked. Once more, Lily screeched as she stepped back! Carrie turned around, and Wasabi tossed her off, sending her back to Lily's direction. The two sisters turned to look at the team. They growled and were about to attack once more, when they froze, and lifted their heads up as if listening to something in the air. Lily frowned.
"We've gotta get going." she said as she looked at Carrie. Carrie looked shocked.
"B-But they're right there!" she protested. Lily glared at her, and Carrie backed down. They then looked at the heroes.
"You're lucky for right now. Mistress is needing us to pull back for now." Lily explained before she approached them. The team stepped back, ready to fight back. However, Lily picked up the body of Michael, which was still there. Lily picked it up with only one arm.
"Hey! W-Where are you going?!" demanded Hiro, grunting from the pain. Carrie hummed to herself.
"It doesn't concern you for now. Now...good evening." she said with a teasing smile as she approached Lily and took her hand. Gogo rushed towards them, to the protest of the team. But she couldn't get to them in time, as Carrie and Lily quickly disappeared into the darkness at rapid speed.
The team sat there, alone as they processed what had happened. Hiro stared at the spot where they were, before he felt his neck, thinking that Carrie's fangs might've cut through the armor. He sighed to himself before the others turned to him.
"Hiro?" asked Honey. Hiro looked at her, and he saw the look of fear, confusion, and concern on her face, just like everybody else.
"So...what happens now?" asked Fred. Hiro looked down, unsure of what to do.
"I...I dunno. We should get back, and think of what to do next. Even though it is obvious, this is nothing like anything we've dealt with before." he explained. The others nodded in agreement before they began to move out.
Later, we arrive back at the mansion, where Carrie and Lily walk over to Meela's chamber. They could see Meela looking down on her bed, hand caressing something.
"Excuse us, mistress? You wish to see us?" asked Lily. Meela nodded.
"I just wanted you to drop by so that I can say...for your first fight with this 'Big Hero 6' team, you handled yourselves pretty well. I'm impressed." she said as she turned around, giving them a smile. Carrie and Lily smiled before the former raised her brows.
"Um...how did you know?" she asked. Meela then pointed to her brain.
"When I pass my venom onto my victims if I choose to convert them, a small piece of me is a part of them too. So, whatever you can sense, I can sense too. Right now, I can sense you two, four more people...and her." she said as she stepped aside, revealing an unconscious Karmi. Carrie and Lily approached them, and they stared at the body.
"Is this Karmi?" asked Lily. Meela nodded.
"That is correct. Isn't she pretty?" she insisted. Lily nodded, but Carrie shrugged.
"Eh...she's not much to look at." she said. Meela looked at her and nodded.
"I guess you're right. Regardless, she will be a GREAT daughter to me. In addition, I'm sure you two will get along fine. Right?" she asked. Carrie nodded.
"No doubt, mistress." she said with a smile. Meela nodded with a smile before she looked back at Karmi's body.
"Now, you have the bodies hidden, right?" she asked. They nodded.
"Correct. We're not sure if you want them here, so we hid them in the abandoned buildings." Lily stated. Meela nodded.
"That's fair. Anyways, I can connect to them from afar. Anyways," she began before she straightened herself and turned to look at them again.
"You two go to your rooms and get some rest. We've got a busy night tomorrow." she instructed. Carrie and Lily nodded before they turned around and walked away. Meela then looked back at Karmi's body and ran her fingernails along the skin of her cheeks and neck.
"Won't be long now, dear...won't be long now…" she said with a smile. Karmi's only response...was a small twitch on the corner of her lips...
