The Finale: It's Time To Move On
Hello folks, The Sensational SpiderDom321 here, and I'm here to make an announcement…
…I'm done writing Fanfiction.
For those of you that have known me ever since I opened my first account in 2017, this may not come across as a surprise to you because writer's block, lack of motivation, and other things have caused me to give up on the stories I wrote on here. When I opened up this account in 2019, I made a promise to myself that I would start fresh and complete a majority of stories I had in the works.
For the most part, I did just that. One-shots like Queen Bee's Special Task and Mario's Donnybrook at GameStop got a lot of people laughing, and novels like Awakened & I Would Never Abandon You (two of my most popular Sonic the Hedgehog stories) have done phenomenally well. I was glad to see everyone's comments and even work with someone, who would eventually become a close friend, on the former.
As time went on, I've started to develop my own stories outside of what I write on Fanfiction. I have an account on FictionPress called "The Spectacular SpiderDom" and I've opened up a whole series of worlds called The Splashtastic Universe. For those that know me well, you would know I have an original series in the works called "The Sensational Night Shadow."
For those curious about what the series is about, here is the outline I have.
The Sensational Night Shadow
Series Synopsis: It's 2035 in Seattle, Washington and things aren't the way they used to be. Technology has been upgraded, robots have been created, people have gotten animal limbs from surgery, and worst of all, supervillains are on the rise. Only thing is, they're more annoying than they are intimidating. Luckily, there is one man brave enough to stand up to the forces of evil, Mason Moonstone: The Sensational Night Shadow. With his girlfriend; Sydney Connor, his demon: Dunnere, and his friends; Jerry Vanderhoff, Amber Connor, Monsoon Gal, Pyro Lad, Frosty Beetle, plus countless others, Night Shadow does what he can to take on the bad guys in Seattle: Technolocity, the Void League, Nagini the Viper, and more. Inspired by Looney Tunes, Deadpool, Watchmen, and Avatar: The Last Airbender.

Pretty cool, huh?
The Night Shadow series is currently eight episodes in so far, and friends I have here on Fanfiction have been enjoying the series. Reading their comments as well as comments from users on FictionPress are what keep me going. I couldn't be any more proud of myself…
…which brings us to here.
I am no longer interested in writing Fanfiction because it doesn't give me the same charm, fun, or pleasure as it used to. This is because I have more fun making up my own stories using my own characters, telling my own jokes, and using my imagination to its full potential. And while I did use that imagination for Awakened and I Would Never Abandon You, the current stories I have on here don't give me the same amount of fun as those stories.
I've tried to force myself to write the next chapter of Sonic Heroes: The Atom Bomb, a Sonic Forces rewrite I made. I was on Chapter 25, which showcases the origin story of Infinite. As I was working through it, I stopped.
And do you want to know why I stopped?
It's because I wasn't happy.
I wasn't happy with where the story was going and no matter how hard I tried to push myself to work on it, I just couldn't do it. I even tried to work on potential chapters of my Mario story and my Avengers story.
But nothing was working.
I felt like I was forcing myself to enjoy writing Fanfiction, which in turn, made me miserable.
I kept thinking to myself, What's the point? What's the point of doing something if it's not going to make me happy?
Don't get me wrong, I love the past chapters I've made to the three stories I have on here. My Sonic, Mario, and Avengers stories to be exact. But I can't bring myself to continue them. I don't have as much fun as I used to.
Keep in mind, I've started up my Fanfiction account way back in 2017. My old computer was corrupted by a virus back in 2018 and in 2019, I got a Microsoft Surface Pro 7 that helped me keep better track of my documents. So, with this in mind, that means I've been writing for almost three years. I think that's a lot of time spent here on Fanfiction.
While Fanfiction has helped me develop my own original franchises on FictionPress and I've met people who have helped me grow as a writer, the time for writing my own Fanfiction has come to an end. I will dedicating myself to working on original content only.
To all of my friends on this site, thank you all so much for being there for me on my best days and my worst days. All of you are the ones who keep me going. Now, before you all get upset, let me tell you that I am not abandoning you guys.
I will still read whatever you have in store, I just won't be writing Fanfiction myself.
Original storytelling is the path I wish to take.

I also want to thank all of the favorites and follows I got for my stories so far. I have a feeling I'm gonna lose some of them after this announcement, but you know what? I don't care. If they wish for me to be miserable writing something I don't wanna write…
That's their problem, not mine.
