Note: This story happens after the whole thing, therefore it means it happens when Kirito is re-defeating Aincrad with his friends.
December 20th 2028 6:30 Floor 55
Kirito stood at the head of the table where Asuna usually stood, with a very long packet, of a very long list of things to discuss during the meeting. Most of the meeting had gone well, since they were all used to this. Pretty much after Kirito's birthday, Asuna started giving him lists of things to do in the public, and she'd do what she could in her room. Like today. They had discussed incidents at the new airport on Floor 1, relationships with people outside Aincrad, and citizen suggestions. Everyone anticipated the last subject. Even though Kirito had read over this before, he still had to skim through it another time, before bringing up the subject. Kirito cleared his throat, and said, "I know you have all been waiting for this last topic, which is who we are bringing to the Research Department, in YUI, and who are the candidates for Commander and Vice Commander." Everyone murmured and nodded. Kirito continued, "First, our top candidates for YUI, are still Klein, Recon, and Sinon. Klein and Sinon are offered positions as professors, and Recon as a researcher. What have you three decided?"
Klein turned to look at Lisbeth. They seemed to have an argument without talking, just by glaring at each other, not blinking. Everybody knew Klein liked the front lines. He liked attention, he liked acting as a hero. Everyone was expecting Sinon and Recon to be the ones that say yes, and Klein to say no. Klein was known to be stubborn, but yet, this time, he blinked first. He turned away first. By the look of surprise on Lisbeth's face, she hadn't expected that either. Klein stood up, took a deep breath, and declared, "I will take the job. For Lisbeth and only for her. Not even for you, Kirito." Sinon stood up as well, and announced, "Then I will too." However, Recon didn't stand up. "I would like to know what would happen if I don't accept,"Recon questioned. Kirito didn't hesitate for a moment. He knew what Recon wanted. "That is something I am prepared to answer. Asuna and I discussed this as well. She argued you'd be valuable as a researcher with your brains. I said you'd be a valuable Vice-Commander. That means, it is more of a choice between researcher and Vice-Commander, depending on what type of life you want,"Kirito answered.
Recon nodded, took this in, looked at Suguha, who really just looked stunned that her brother, Kazuto would give a chance to Recon like that. "I chose Vice-Commander. I want to prove myself,"Recon announced, finally standing up. Kirito nodded. "The last position we have is Commander. This is somebody we neglected to consider. Eugene. He is the best fighter, other than Yuuki, and Asuna. He also has the head to control an army. He is our choice for Commander,"Kirito told the council. Eugene stood up, his face a mask, but for a moment, his face had been utter shock. "From now on, Klein, Sinon, Asuna, and I are the heads of the Research Department. Please give a hand to Commander Eugene and Vice Commander Recon!"Kirito officially declared. Everyone clapped, and Kirito, was for once, the first to go instead of one of the last. Following him, was Klein and Sinon. Today, Eugene and Recon would be one of the last to exit this room, and for a long time, that's how it was going to be.
December 20th 2028 8:00 Floor 48 Lindarth
Once again, Kirito sat in the meeting. Except this one was in Asuna's room. Kiouchirou, Klein, and Sinon were all there. Shouzou and Kyouko had taken a day off to take care of Yui this day. They held the meeting there for Asuna's benefit. The YUI building was actually done, but Asuna wouldn't be going there until after the twins were born, because rumors would spread quicker than a wildfire when it was about Kirito and Asuna, and they knew it. "Okay, so the first two most important matters we have on our hands, is one, getting students so that we'll have funds from their payments, and two we need to start researching teleportation crystals, becuase those are becoming scarce. We already have 2 dozen of them for research in our lab,"Asuna says, as she is more organized with stuff like this, seeing as she was born into the family of Yuuki. "I think it would be pretty easy. Most of the people have been complaining that their kids need education, and there are loads of former AI's, and NPC children, as well as teens that were playing ALO at the time of the incident,"Klein answered, "I will personally be out their tomorrow talking to families." Asuna nodded. That problem was taken care of.
"I would love to plan the courses, and what we will teach based on the teachers we have for now. We could start off with self defense this semester so that students will know how to defend themselves from monsters, in case anything happens, and then next September, when you're ready, Asuna, we could start the real courses. That way, we get some money for the research,"Sinon suggested. "That sounds like a really good plan, actually, and that's from a CEO,"Kiouchirou responded. Everyone nodded their agreement. Everything was turning out to be great. So far. Asuna and Kirito looked across the hasty circle they had formed to meet each other's eyes. Asuna had been thinking the same thing as Kirito. Everything was going so perfectly, and they really hoped, the twins wouldn't have any problems either, that would tip the balance they had right now.
