October Drabble I - Halloween Town

Decided to make the ones for this month a two part Halloween Special, so I hope you guys are looking forward to some fun in BunnyBurrow! :D Oh, and fluff. Can't forget the fluff.

Flip...flip..flip...oh, that one's nice, but...overdone.

Judy shook her head and flicked past the costume of a sexy bunny witch. She'd seen enough of those from her sister's growing up and besides, they weren't her style even if she knew Nick wouldn't be able to take his eyes off her the entire evening.

As well as probably the rest of the males at the party, and that was not something she wanted.

Over in another store on the other side of BunnyBurrow, Nick was having the same difficulty in picking out a costume for the annual BunnyBurrow's Bumpkin's Pumpkin Fest. Surprising both of the officers, they found that Halloween this year fell right in the middle of their four days off, five days on shift, and as Judy had wanted to visit home soon anyways, the festival was something they couldn't pass up.

But Judy had insisted they wear costumes for it. Nick shook his head as he walked past another row of bunny sized costumes. I should have found something in the city...the fox thought as he walked past a row of superhero attires which only came up to his chest. Zootopia had a much broader selection for different sized mammals, so deciding to sleep in, instead of buying a costume, might not have been worth it in the long run.

"Isn't there a single fox sized costume here?" Grumbling under his breath, he continued on, sighing when he saw how the attires switched directly from 'Bunny' sized to 'Sheep' size. Knowing he wouldn't fit into any of those, Nick sulked back to the front of the store, tail nearly dragging on the floor, paws in his pockets. He strolled out the door of the Halloween shop, stopping when he heard a familiar buzzing from his pocket.

Fishing the phone out, Nick let the only smile from the past few hours grace his lips. "Carrots, hey, how's my Bunny Bumpkin doing with her costume shopping?"

He heard a groan from the other end and chuckled.

"Not good," the usually peppy bunny replied. "It seems like Barely There and Sexy Dare are about the only costumes they've designed for does this year. I can't find a single carrot plucking thing that would be okay with wearing with our kits around."

"We could always let Bonnie watch them."

"Nick..."

Judy's slight chuckle from the other side made him smile. "Hey, Bonnie's been wanting to test out her new pumpkin sugar cookie recipe for a long time and our kits love their sugar."

"But do we really want to come back home to two wired kits?" Judy asked back.

Nick paused. "We could make it a really late night..."

Judy really chuckled that time. "Sorry, Slick. BunnyBurrow isn't like Zootopia. There is a curfew here so unless you'd like to come home to sugar-rushed kits, then they are coming."

"How are Blueberry and Mini-Carrots doing?" the fox asked as he fished out his keys to his red corvette he'd driven to BunnyBurrow in. "Bonnie call yet about their play date with Jessica and Jack's kits?"

On the other side of the line, Judy shook her head. "Not yet. I'm sure we'll get some pictures from it soon. You know how Jess likes to take pictures of everything."

Nick nodded. "Yeah. Means more for our growing family photo album." He heard Judy 'hmm' on the other side of the line. "Anyways, I'm about to check out one final store to see if they even have anything in my size out here. Wish me luck!"

"Wish you luck and love," Judy replied, making Nick smile widen further.

"Love you, Judy. See you in a few hours."

"Love you too."

The phone clicked, leaving Nick back in his own thoughts. What will I do for this festival. We've already got the costumes for Ridley and Ella. He thought of the carrot and blueberry onesies that he knew would look adorable on them, much to Judy's frustration-turned-adoration when she'd finally seen them in the costumes.

Drumming his fingers against the steering wheel, he thought and pondered over what he could do. After several fruitless minutes, he drummed up his phone, searched up the next closest Halloween store and drove off.

Meanwhile, Judy placed her phone in her back pocket. She was just about to give up the search, and talking with Nick was just what she needed to keep going. So on and on down the row she went of Hallow-Mart, flicking through hanger after hanger of costumes looking more and more ridiculous by the foot. Were-Bun? No...Sexy vampire? No... Wonder Bunny? N...

Wait...

Judy paused, her paw holding onto the costume on the rack. It wasn't the regular costume that looked ridiculous if one were to actually fight crime, or one that would freeze her tail off in the cold October weather of BunnyBurrow, but one that actually made sense.

Grinning, Judy slipped the costume under one arm, thumbing through the rest of the racks, just in case. Though I think we've found ourselves a winner...she thought merrily moments later as she was checking out, wondering what Nick would pick out.
