Miles outside of Barkingburg, in a thick forest near the Black Ice Mountain, a bolt of light struck the ground and the PAW Patrol, the Canine Knights, the Princess, Carlos, Katie, Sid, Arrby, the Mighty Twins, and Andrew all appeared.

"Here we are." Andrew said, "The barrier to the Realm of Shades is a mile that way."

"We'd better get going because this blessing won't last very long." Charles added.

The group began the short walk to the edge of the realm. Night was beginning to fall, but light from the Canine Knights and Chase's flashlight allowed the group to continue in the falling darkness. However, Andrew didn't watch where he was going and tripped on a tree root and fell.

"You ok Andrew?" Ryder asked.

"I'm fine." the sorcerer replied, brushing the dirt off his clothes.

"Hey Andrew, this fell out of your pocket." Arrby said as he was holding a small black box.

"Oh thank you Arrby." Andrew said quickly as a rosy blush covered his face.

The pups noticed the blush on Andrew's face, and they smiled.

"Andrew, are you going to ask Alexandra to marry you?" Skye asked.

Andrew was silent for a moment before a lopsided grin appeared on his face. "How do you all figure these things out so fast?"

"We're kinda good at reading people." Rubble said.

"Obviously." Andrew said, "Yes, I'm going to ask Alexandra to marry me. Since I don't have anything left from my biological family, I had an engagement ring made with some of the jewels from the castle."

"That's so sweet!!" Everest exclaimed.

"We're so happy for you Andrew dude!!" Zuma added.

"Thank you." Andrew replied, "Would you like to see the ring?"

"Yes!!" everyone exclaimed.

Andrew took the box out of his pocket and opened it. Inside was a silver ring with a small pink diamond on top.

"Muy bonita." Tracker said.

"Simple, yet elegant." Katie added.

"Yes, now we'd better keep going." Andrew said as he put the box back in his pocket.

The PAW Patrol and their allies continued on their path to the Realm of Shades. A few minutes later, they arrived at the barrier which separated the realm from the rest of the world. The magical barrier was faint, but it's shimmering surface let its presence be known.

"Once we cross the barrier, we'll be exposed completely to the shades." Chance said.

"How far is the cave?" Ella asked.

"Not that far fortunately." Granite replied.

"Is everyone ready?" Ryder asked, "Once we get to the other side, there's no turning back."

"Yes, we're ready." Chase replied

"Us too." Arrby added.

"Us as well." Tuck added.

"Alright, now or never." the Princess said.

One by one, the PAW Patrol and their allies crossed through the barrier that separated the Realm of Shades from the outside world. They walked up to the top of a hill which gave a view of the landscape. And they were stunned and even saddened about what they were seeing.

"Oh dios..." Carlos muttered.

Everything around them was black and bleak. The sky was dark and murky, no natural light peaking through the darkness. The land was barren and had no flowers or grass anywhere. Bare tree trunks jutted from the ground like spikes on a helmet. No animals or birds were heard or seen. The air itself was heavy and dry, full of negative energy. There was no life anywhere in the realm. Just death.

"It's so...dead..." Everest said with a crack in her voice.

"La muerte." Tracker added.

"It's so sad..." Katie said, her voice breaking.

"It is." Blaze replied.

"Alright everyone, it's not that far to the cave." Andrew interrupted, "But let's be careful, there are shades everywhere."

Everyone walked down the hill and into the valley. The ground was nothing but dust, and the only other thing besides the bare tree trunks were rocks. It was eerily quiet with no wind or any life. Everyone felt apprehensive and tense. All of a sudden, a screeching black mass quickly flew over them.

"Shade!!!" Arthur yelled.

The shade quickly dove in for another shot, but was instantly repelled by the Seven Sorcerers' blessing.

"Andrew, can you use the scepter to keep the shades at bay?" Marshall asked.

"Unfortunately no." Andrew replied, "If I use the scepter here, it could cause a negative reaction which could kill us."

"Chase, Marshall, use your ball launcher and Hydro Launcher to keep the shades at bay." Ryder said.

Chase and Marshall barked out their tools and began launching to keep the shades away. Ella's paws glowed as she grew in size. The Princess and Katie began throwing discuses at the shades while the Knights dawned their helmets and weapons to help. Andrew was able to use his own magic to drive the shades away.

One by one, the mindless shades tried to get at the intruders, but couldn't due the blessing the group received. Ella swat her giant paw at the shades while the Knights used their swords to keep them away.

"We have to keep going!!" Charles yelled.

Despite the constant attacks from the shades, the group continued to the cave where the Interdimensional Portal was. After a few moments though, the shades flew off into the darkness.

"Wait, why are they leaving?" Tuck asked.

"I don't know, but they might be back with backup soon." Skyler replied.

"We'd better get to the cave immediately." Richard added.

The group made their way up a small path on the side of the mountain which led to the cave. Everyone was still on lookout in case the shades or Henry and the others decided to show up.

"Will the shades come after us in the cave?" Sid asked.

"No." Andrew replied, "The cave has a barrier around which prevents shades from getting in."

"We're almost there." Blaze said.

The group walked a little more before reaching the cave entrance. They walked through the barrier and entered the cave. Stone carvings covered the walls, and in the back were seven pillars surrounding a stone circle.

"Here we are." Charles said.

"How do we open the portal?" Rubble asked.

"We use the elements, the Relic of Dimensions, and a spell." Andrew replied, "Arrby, still have the relic?"

"Right here." Arrby replied giving the stone cylinder to Andrew.

"Perfect." the sorcerer said, "Now we can begin."

"You're not doing anything that." a female voice said.

The group faced the entrance and were horrified at who was standing there. Sweetie, Mayor Humdinger, Harold, the Kitty Katastrophe Crew, Ladybird, and Henry.
