Here s the next chapter. I'm not sure how well I like it. There is going to be some angest in this chapter. I kept changing things. It's more of a filler chapter.
Luke and Mara had headed for the appartment she had on Coruscant after their meeting with the Provsional Council. It did not suprise him of the Bothans opposition to peace with the Empire. It did not serve the Bothans finacial goals at the moment. Not that he could prove it. Borsk Fel'lya may claim this is a trap by the Empire and may even believe it to an extent but Luke was not fool enough to believe this is why he objected.
Luke was under no illution as to what Fel'lya wants. He wants Leia's position and will do what ever it will take. After all this time and the many failed attempts to position himself in a position to become the next Chief of State the Bothan Senater still plays his games.
Luke was brought out of his thoughts when Tionne answered his COMM call. "Master Skywalker."
"Tionne I need you and Kam to start contacting all the Jedi and have them return to Yavin IV as soon as possible." Luke informed the suprised Jedi.
"I take it did not go well." asked Tionne.
"I is unclear which way the Council will go. Borsk Fel'lya spoke up right away and opposed any idea of peace. He claimed it was a trap to weaken the New Republic by killing key leaders..." Luke started saying when Mara interrupted.
"He claimed Luke was letting his naive ideals cloud is judgment." Stated an irritated Mara. "More like he does not want Luke to be the one to help peace come about. I'm sure he is one of the Senators that want more control of Luke and the Jedi. If the Jedi could broker a peace treaty with the Empire then He and his allies would not be able to touch the Jedi. This also could help the Jedi become more independent of the different governments."
Luke gave Mara a look. "Don't look at me like that Luke. You know as well as I do he is the one behind the pressure your sister is under to get you back on Coruscant and be a senate adviser."
Luke rubbed his face with his hands. "That may be true but Leia has her own reasons and they don't corispond with what I want with my life."
Tionne cleared her throat. "Master Skywalker if we could get back on track. How soon do you want them back by and what shall I tell them?"
"Just let them know I need to speak with the whole order on a matter of great importance. I will be heading that way in a few days. Mon Mothma is reaching out to Senators that she feels will support peace and back the Jedi's plans. She plans on returning with us so we can start setting things up in the hope things go the way we want. Also I will contact Corran about all this. His involment with the Jedi is not as well known but I know Fel'lya is aware of it as he was there when I spoke to Corran all those years ago."
"I will inform Kam and we will get right on it. I will have a the students start getting rooms ready for everyone. Please let me know it there will be any other guest besides Mon Mathma."
"I will Tionne. I will contact you daily so that we can keep each other up to date." informed Luke.
"Very well Master I will wait your call tomorrow." Said Tionne before she hung up.
Luke sat back in the chair as Mara wrapped her arms around him from behind. "Don't worry to much farmboy. Things will work out."
"I know, I was just hopefully things would have gone better. Hopefully my sister and Senator Kerrithrarr can get the council to stop arguing long enough to talk about it rationally." Luke said quietly.
"We could go and speak with your sister this evening to see how it went. I know you don't want to have another fight with Leia but we can't avoid her for ever." suggested Mara.
"Well see. I know we need to."

Leia got home after another 5 hours of discussion after Luke and Mon Mothma left. Fel'lya never changed is stand but some of the others did. Now all she had to do was find her brother and inform him of the vote and invite him and Mon Mothma back and discuss what Luke and Admiral Palleon had discussed. After that then they could discuss Luke staying on Coruscant and advising the council. There are those that insist that be part of the deal. Hopefully her brother will not argue against it.
Leia felt two arms wrap around her "Hey Sweatheart, how did it go?" asked Han.
"We finally voted and there are enough votes to see what the Empire wants and the role the Jedi take in the peace talks." Leia informed her husband.
"What do you mean what roll. I believe the Empire wants the Jedi to mediate the talks as a neutral party. I know Luke is planning along those lines and it looking in to a way to insure the meeting can happen without interference from those who oppose peace on both sides." stated Han.
"How is he and the Jedi suppose to be neutral when they are suppose to be loyal to the New Republic?" asked Leia.
"Luke's first loyalty is to the force. Those in the Senate who want more control over Luke and the Jedi will just have to be disappointed. He will do what's best for the Jedi. If you and the others push to hard you might not like what happens."
Leia turned to her husband. "What do you know Han. Has Luke said anything to you about the Jedi?"
"No and if he had I would not say more the he wanted. I just know the kid well enough to know you can only push him to far before he pushes back."
"How is it you seen to know my brother better then me and we are twins?"
"Because I see with my eyes open and listen to what he has to say. You have the habit of seeing the kid from Tatooine that saved you on the Death Star. He is not that niave kid any more. You have been pushing him to come back here to live and have his whole life planned out for him. Not once have you asked him what he wants. Well sorry to say it will never happen. Oh and stop trying to set him up with these friends of yours because he has already decided on who." Han told his wife before he walked out the door.
It didn't take Leia long to figure out that last comment Han made. "No, he wouldn't." Leia will not welcome Mara Jade in her family. Mara may have saved her family and helped the New Republic but she did not think the Emperor's Hand would be right for her brother. It just didn't look right for the head of the Jedi Order being involved with Emperor's personal assassin. Especially one that tried to kill him.
She was going to have a long talk with here brother and Han was going to get a piece of her mine if he was keeping things about her brother from her. Leia reached out with the force a sensed Luke was still on planet. Well she would just have to go talk with him if he wouldn't come talk with her.

Luke and Mara were eating dinner when the door chime went off. Luke reached out with the force and sence his sister and she seemed angerly.
"Its Leia and she does not seem happy." Luke stated. "I will get it."
Mara didn't reply just started cleaning up. Luke went to the door and took a deep breath before opening the door. When it opened he came face to face with an angerly Leia.
"Would you care to explain to me Luke where you have been and why you are here?" asked Leia.
Luke just took a deep breath as Mara a feeling of calm through the force. "As to where I have been that is none of your business." Luke sensing Leia about to argue. "Leia it is not and I do not have to inform you of where I am going or why. I told you multiple times I was fine and was taking some time off from teaching but you kept harassing me and my friends. Stop it.
Now as to why I am here. This is Mara's apartment and since I didn't want to have to deal with you just barging into my apartment with out knocking we came here. Now I know you have your own ideas about who I should see but who I see or don't but frankly that's none of your business either. You keep trying set me up with women that were only intrest in the Jedi Master. None knew me or could handle the life I have chosen.
I have made my choice and it was a choice I made years ago even if it took years to act on it. I have chosen Mara. She is just not my friend but my Wife." Leia recoiled in shock and horror at that.
"Luke she tried to kill you how can you trust her. She was the Emperor's personal assassin." Leia started before Luke stopped her.
"And I am the son of Darth Vader. I didn't choose who are father was and she never had a choice. You also seem to forget at no time did she ever tried to kill me. Saved my life a bunch."
"Luke I can't except her in my our family. She is a smuggler and former Imperial."
"So when are you divorcing Han Solo. He was a smuggle when he helped rescue you from the Death Star and a former Imperial Officer. Yes Mara was an Imperial but unlike Han she never had a choice and its Jedi Mara Jade Skywalker. So if you will excuse me my wife and I were having dinner when you arrived. Have a nice evening."
Luke then lead Leia to the door and closed it behind her. When she was gone he sat in a chair with his elbows on his knees and head in hands. Mara came in the room and eased him to sit back before sitting in his lap. She just held her husband till he calmed down. She could tell he was upset at his sister and hurt by her actions.
"Before you say anything I stand by what I said when we got together Mara. It's our life. I will stand by you and not regret it one bit. Leia has gone to long without someone standing up to her."
"I love yo Farmboy."
"I love you too."
I know it seems I hate Leia but I don't. She just needs to realize Luke is his own person and for every argument she has against Mara Luke can counter it. Leia will come around though I don't know if her and Mara will ever be close friends. I don't think this is my best chapter but I hope that you all like it enough to continue to read my story.
