Chapter 24 : Peace of Mind
After the Main Event
Later that night after the last match , the medics were tending to very angry Naturals , the match against the Dollhouse went off well without any problems. But the match between the Naturals and BDC had a lot of interference from Dixieland resulting in the match being thrown out as both of them were hit over the head with steel chairs .
" I thought , BDC and Dixieland hated each other now . " Andy said pissed .
" They do , this was a chance for them to find out whose stronger . " Grace said .
" Damn it , this is the second time I ' ve been back here with the medic because of Lashley , I ' m going to break him . " Chase went to get up , but was pushed back down in the chair by Shane .
" Easy Chase , we can ' t touch them unless you want Dixie Carter to get all the power which is what she is hoping for with the way she handle things tonight . " Shane said .
" So , I ' m suppose to be okay with this ? " Chase asked .
" No , Uncle Chase , do remember that the Dynamic Duo will be in a Street Fight against BDC this Sunday . " Andy Jr. said .
" Meaning ? " Andy asked .
" Interference is allowed since this match won ' t have any rules . " Dakota said making Chase look at him .
" The Dynamic Duo is thinking like heels today , " Grace said .
" Chase , " Traci came in to check on her husband .
" I ' m okay , " Chase said as she hugged him .
" Quit worrying me to death , baby , " Traci said .
" This wasn ' t my fault , " Chase said holding his hands up .
" Don ' t argue with me or you won ' t get any loving tonight . " Traci said .
" Yes ma ' am , " Chase said .
" Ooo , Aunt Traci using the . . . " Andy Jr. started .
" Little Natural , hush , " Chase putting his hand over his nephew ' s mouth .
" Everything else worked out perfectly tonight , " Shane said .
" Dollhouse and BDC will be gone after Sunday , so , we won ' t have to worry about them after Slammiversary . " Grace said .
" Yeah , are we free to go ? " Andy asked the medic .
" Yes , just make sure . . . " The medic started .
" Put an ice pack on it , " Chase said leaving the room .
" Is he ? " Grace asked .
" He ' s fine , Grace . " Traci said .
After that everyone went home to get ready for Slammiversary .
Next Day
The following morning , Grace and Makayla rode down around the Orlando Beach until they were away from where a lot of people lived to look at a beach house for sale that the two had seen online .
" So , we are going to do this if everything checks out okay ? " Grace asked .
" We need to get our own place again after the switch up that the first wave of Dixieland caused that made us lose the first place . " Makayla said .
" Sure , but let ' s make sure this place is safe , so , we don ' t have to worry about wierdos breaking in like they did in the past to our dads ' places . " Grace advised .
" Good idea , " Makayla said as they got out and talked to the relator .
" So , you girls will be moving in together ? " The relator asked suspicious .
" Buddy , get whatever you are thinking out of your mind , we are just friends . " Makayla said as they looked at the house happy with what they saw .
" I think I ' m in love with this place . " Grace said as they stepped out on to the balcony looking at the beach and ocean which was right outside of their door .
" So , have we come to a decision ? " Makayla asked .
" Yes , we have , " Grace agreed .
Not long after that they were leaving the place with the deed and a set of keys for the both of them .
" I guess we tell our dads about this . " Makayla said as they walked into the Harris House .
" Yeah , " Grace said as Chris looked at them .
" What are you two talking about ? " Chris asked as James came in with a beer from the Wildcat ' s fridge making the Cat look at him .
" Partners share . " James said .
" Yeah , with their favorite niece . " Grace said .
" You two bother it and I will bend both of you over . " Storm said .
" So , what were you two talking about ? " Chris asked .
" We found a new place , " Makayla said making Grace look at her dad worried that he wouldn ' t approve .
" That was fast , " James said .
" Yeah , well , we found one we liked , so , we figured that we should go ahead and take it while it was still available . " Makayla said .
" Dad , are you okay with this ? Me moving out ? " Grace asked concerned .
" Grace , I ' m fine , I told you months ago that it was okay for you two to move in together , " Chris said .
" You sure ? " Grace asked .
" Yes baby , I ' m sure . " Chris said kissing her on the forehead .
" We ' ll plan a move in when we get a free day , " Makayla said .
" Yeah , but let ' s wait until after Slammiversary this Sunday . " Grace said .
" We can grab some abled body help by then , too . " Storm said .
" The Extended Family and the Inheritors ? " Grace asked .
" Exactly , " James said .
" TJ will definitely help , " Makayla said .
" I swear , if he starts coming over and keeping me up at night , I will make him my new tackling dummy . " Grace warned her .
" At least my man doesn ' t howl whenever he sees me . " Makayla pointed out .
" Oh boy , " Chris chuckled at the girls .
" Anyway , does anyone know why Chase was acting strange yesterday ? " Grace asked .
" Other than getting hit with a chair by Lashley , no I don ' t . " James said .
" It seemed to be about more than the chair shot . " Grace said .
" He was concerned about Dakota and Katie last night , " Chris said .
" Another case of over protectiveness from a father for his daughter . " Storm said drinking on the beer .
" Maybe . . . " Grace started .
" What ? " Chris asked .
" I was about to suggest maybe somebody should talk to Chase , but that maybe best within their own family . " Grace said .
" Yeah , and probably somebody that ' s a father , Grace . " Storm said .
" Alright , " Grace said .
" I know you are still trying to help Chase , " Chris said .
" I ' m never to busy to help family . " Grace said just as someone knocked on the door .
Chris went and opened the door to see Chase outside with Courtney Rush and Allie letting them in .
" When did Chase start escorting the rest of LoS ? " Makayla asked curiously .
" I didn ' t , they showed up at the same time I did . " Chase said .
" Rush , Allie , you two have perfect timing . " Grace said putting her arms around both of them .
" Steve said that you needed our aid , " Rush said .
" Yes , LoS has a match against the Dollhouse aligned with Dixieland at Slammiversary , they lose , then we don ' t have to worry about them in the fight against Dixie Carter and her creeps . " Makayla said .
" You can count on us , " Allie said .
" We will assist you . " Rush said .
" Let ' s go work out the details . " Grace said as the girls left the house .
" Are you okay ? " Storm asked Chase .
" No , I ' m worried , " Chase said .
" Let me guess , you are worried about Katie and Dakota ? " Chris asked .
" How did you know ? " Chase asked .
" Been there , brother , " Chris said .
" Recently , " Storm said .
" So , let me give you some advice that you guys in the family have been giving me , quit worrying so much , everything will be okay . " Chris said .
" But , she ' s my baby , " Chase said .
" I know and it ' s hard to let them go , but you can ' t stop it either and as soon as you relax about the situation then you will find out that seeing her happy with someone she will spend the rest of her life with will make you happy , too . " Chris said .
" And you of all people should know by now that Dakota wouldn ' t hurt her , " Storm said .
" Yes , I know , I just , I can ' t help worrying about her after everything she has been through . " Chase said .
" And you have done everything right to make sure she is happy , healthy , and loved and I promise you that Dakota will make sure it stays that way . " Chris said .
" Then what do I do with this over protective feeling ? " Chase asked .
" Has Katie , said anything about dating ? " Storm asked .
" No , " Chase said .
" Then it maybe that they don ' t see each other like that yet , so , you need to wait until they come to you just incase the situation isn ' t what you think it is , Chase . " Chris said .
" Then what ? " Chase asked .
" Then you make sure that Dakota knows not to hurt her , then let it be , if they end up happy for the rest of their lives then so be it . " Storm said .
" And if problems come up ? " Chase asked .
" Then you step in , but only when she asks you , too . " Chris said .
" Okay , " Chase said .
" Dollhouse is officially finished as of Slammiversary . " Grace said walking back in the house with satisfied smile on her face .
" Sounds like you have already declared a victory before the match . " Storm said .
" With LoS taking care of the problem and the strategy in place everything will be taken care of . " Grace said with confidence .
" As long as Dollhouse and BDC are done after Sunday then we are good . " Chris said .
" The Dynamic Duo is all finished with their plans against BDC as well . " Chase said .
" Oh , I hope that Dixie Carter is feeling the noose around her neck . " Storm said .
" She ' ll get her justice soon enough . " Chris said .
" Where did you leave Makayla ? " James asked .
" She and Allie were going to the mall , and Rush was going to see Steve . " Grace said .
" Makayla has a date tonight with TJ , " Storm said .
" That would explain her needing to find something to wear . " Grace said .
" She has a closet full of clothes . " Storm said .
" Don ' t try to understand it , Uncle James , it will just drive you crazy . " Grace going to the fridge getting a beer .
" Grace ? " Chris asked .
" You can ' t drink all of it , " Grace said fixing her some lunch to go with the beer .
" You moving out will allow me to have my beer to myself again , " Chris said .
" I don ' t believe it dad , " Grace said .
" Why not ? " Chris asked .
" That , " Grace gestured to Storm going into the fridge again .
" Storm , get out of there . " Chris went over to the fridge to get on to the Cowboy .
" But , " Storm said as Chase sat next to Grace at the bar .
" So , you are moving out again ? " Chase asked her .
" Yes , Makayla and I found a place on the beach , " Grace said pulling her phone out pulling up pictures of the house showing Chase .
" Wow , yeah , it kind of reminds me of the place , Andy and I had before he got married . " Chase said .
" It ' s not that close to other people meaning we will have our privacy , it ' s spacious for when we may have the family over , it ' s right on the beach , close enough to the Impact Zone , and enough room for us to live comfortably . " Grace said .
" So , when do we move you two in ? " Chase asked .
" After Slammiversary , " Grace said .
" Okay , " Chase said .
" We will call everyone that ' s available to help with the move in , Chase . " Chris said .
" Sounds good , it ' s amazing how grown you girls have become since I first met you . " Chase said .
" No matter what happens Chase , you ' re still my brother . " Grace said .
" Good , I can ' t lose my peace of mind . " Chase said .
" Never , " Grace said .
