-Up high in a tower of Beast/Adam's castle-
(No P.O.V.) -Some minutes before dawn-
In the tower, there was only one window, letting through moonlight, a slight breeze through the few holes of the stones, causing the torches on the walls to flicker occasionally, and there, is a series of cells, similar to the cells of the prison in the Black Mountains, yet having wood walls in the cells, not allowing the neighbors to see each other fully except across the tower floor.
Across from each other, respectively holding a child in their arms, in the first two cells, is Evelyn 'Eve' Terran nee Ukase, a pale fair-skinned, tall woman with long black hair, vibrant blue eyes, wearing a bedraggled wedding white dress. She is sitting upon a cot, cradling their adopted child, Eden, barely 2 years old in her arms.
Eden has grass green eyes, short dark brown hair, and light tan skin, wearing a bedraggled blue dress. Eve and her husband had adopted her officially upon their wedding day. Eve sighed softly, looking across the room, locking her eyes upon her husband, Wally Terran, who's holding into their three-year old biological son, Hal.
Wally is a deeply tanned skinned, short, skinny man with dirty blonde hair, dark brown eyes, wearing a bedraggled formal black suit with vibrant blue accents. Wally and Eve had met about five years ago, and they were having a grand time at their friend, Mo's party.
Turns out that whiskey had blurred the night, but brought the conception of their son, and Wally, been in love with Eve so long before the party, stepped up, becoming the responsible boyfriend and father-to be, much to the shock of Eve's father, having the preconception that Wally would leave Eve because of the baby and the consequences, but Wally didn't.
Soon after, Hal was born, displaying to have light brown hair, Wally's dark brown eyes, and tan skin, with Eve's body frame. The couple cared for Hal while dating for the next four years, and then Wally proposed to Eve, and soon after, they found Eden lost and alone in the forest.
Of course, rumors of the goblins were heard and spoke around, but Eve was confident that they wouldn't attack the town of Axiom with the highly-trained patrol of archers which Eve was part of. Luckily, she and Wally was already officially married by the priest, and adopted Eden by then, but during the reception party, the goblins attacked.
It was a massacre, but she and her family survived, and was brought here by the goblins. Hal, huddled up in the blanket, whimpered softly, "I am really hungry, Dada.". Wally stroked his son's hair softly with a kiss to the forehead, "Yes, I know, son. Breakfast will be here soon, just be patient.".
Eve sighed deeply, "What do you think, Wally? Porridge again?". Wally shrugged lightly, "Porridge's better than nothing.". Eve nodded, and glanced upon Eden who's sleeping at the moment, and held her closer, wrapping together in the blanket. The goblins were smart enough to give a big blanket to each cage, but sometimes, the winter chill is strong, enforcing the prisoners to huddle up close for warmth and survival.
"Hah, this tower's better than the dungeon!", huffed a male voice. Next door to Wally and Hal's cell cage, is George 'Grumpy' Leroi. He's a dwarf, naturally shorter than a typical human, about four feet tall. Dressed in his red sleeved tunic, red hat, gray trousers, and bleached shoes, he used to be a miner before he joined Prince Ferdinand along with his brothers/cousins, becoming a armored warrior with his infamous axe blades before becoming forced to strip the armor off him by the goblins.
He's fair-skinned, dark brown haired with a beard, being middle-aged, and the second oldest of his family. He and his family, along with Prince Ferdinand was attacked by a small horde of goblins in the village of Spirit Paradise, but he sacrificed himself to be arrested by the goblins, giving time for his brothers and the prince to escape, doing it in honor of Snow White, knowing that she wouldn't want her family of friends to be killed.
"Is the dungeon really that bad?", spoke a scared pre-teenage male, and Grumpy sighed lightly, "Trust me, kid, you definitely don't want to hear horrors about that place.". The mentioned kid is in the cage cell next door to Eve and Eden's cage cell, dressed in a dark green sleeved tunic, faded brown trousers, and black shoes.
This is Russell Fredricksen, the fair-skinned, blue-green eyed, dark brown haired 11 year old son of Carl and Ellie who was killed by goblins in the very same village of Spirit Paradise. He was saved by Grumpy in the chaos, and joined him along in the walk to the castle to be thrown into prison.
Russell nodded with a sigh, "I suppose you're right, but do you think Dug is going to be okay?". He was play-fighting with his dog, Dug when the goblins attacked. He was taken as well, but in a different place somewhere else on a different floor of the castle.
Grumpy chuckled softly, "Russell, your dog's brave and strong. He will be fine.", having seen Dug protect Russell before Grumpy saved him. Russell smiled weakly, "Thanks, Grumpy.".
A groan called out from the cell next door to Russell's cell, "Enough about the sappy stuff, I am trying to sleep here!", and Russell winced lightly, "Sorry, Vanellope.". Vanellope sighed lightly, "It's fine, Russ. I couldn't sleep anyway...".
Russell spoke softly, "Bad dream?". Vanellope snorted briefly, "Not even close. I keep thinking about my uncle.", her pale tan face resting against the bars in the slight moonlight, her bright blue eyes weary, and her blonde hair tussled about her face, dressed in a long sleeved light blue tunic, dark blue trousers, and dark green shoes.
This is Vanellope Schweetz, the 10 year old daughter of Felix and Tamara, and the niece of Ralph. She was traveling through the town of Sugarland which is the chocolate capital of Fantasia, hanging out with her uncle, Ralph who is technically the younger 'big' brother of Felix while her parents were having a night alone at home. The downtown square of Sugarland then got attacked by goblins, and Vanellope remembers that she got separated from Ralph in the chaos while being caught by the goblins.
Russell nodded heavily, trying to be upbeat for her, "Hey, Vani, I am sure your uncle will be fine. I mean, I hear stories about him! The best wrestler of all time, Wreck-It Ralph!". Vanellope laughed softly with a slight grin, "Yeah, he's the coolest. He may be goofy at times, but dang, he can be scary in wrestling matches!".
"Is that right, girlfriend? I think my big brother is better!", bragged a teenage, almost adult female voice, coming from the last cell, which is next door to Grumpy's cell. This is 17 year old Audrey Ramirez, having tan skin, dark brown eyes, black hair, wearing a sleeved blue shirt, dark blue overalls, and black shoes.
She had been adopted by Dr. Joshua Sweet, her big 'brother' when she was younger, and was taken from Atlantis by a brave horde of goblins who dared to cross the lake, and brought here. She was attending a match where Sweet was in wrestler mode, having a friendly spar against one of Kida's warrior friends when the goblins attacked. Don't get her wrong, Sweet is a kind-hearted healer, working on injured people almost all the time, but he likes to spar occasionally due to being big and strong.
Vanellope laughed heartily, "When we get outta here, we will see about that! My uncle against your brother, and the one who loses has to do something big for the winner, say, for a week!". Audrey grinned lightly, "If you race me on the Flyers, you've got a deal!". The two girls, barred across from each other to handshake normally, gave a air high-five to seal the deal, with nods to affirm it.
Suddenly, in the distance, sounds of explosions and thunder pierced the air, and Eve looked up in shock, "What was that?". Audrey grinned, having lived through a battle with familiar sounds, "I think we're going to be rescued, fellas. And sounds like the goblins are having trouble.", hearing faint screams of goblins.
All the prisoners bar the sleeping children smiled widely with hope in their hearts as they realized the urgency in Audrey's words, praying that this is the day they will be free again.
