Wowie two chapters in one night!

Short chapter.

Enjoy!

Heron sat below the cockpit on his small bed. Cole sat with his legs crossed on the floor, watching the child. Its little green ears would perk up when it was excited. Heron paid little attention to him until he climbed up and poked at the book Heron was reading. After a little digging around Heron was able to find his book on planets. It was titled: "Our Wonderful Galaxy". Heron had spent the past hour going through the pages looking for planets he knew. The child once again poked at the books. The kid then hopped down to continue running around and bumping into things. Din sat in the cockpit going over what they would do next. Finally he came down to talk things out.

"I found a job," he said.

"Well that's great," Heron replied.

"Not really. It's an old friend. I don't really trust him."

"Who?"

"A man named Ran."

Cole immediately turned his head to Din.

"No, no, no, no, no, you cannot seriously be thinking about working with him," he said.

"It's our best shot at getting a job," Din persisted.

"Ran is dangerous. You and I worked with him for years. Whenever we got into trouble he would run off like a sand rat and leave us in danger's claws."

Heron always knew that Din and Cole had worked together, but he had never heard about this Ran. Whoever he was, he didn't sound that great.

"He might be a coward but he's helped us when we needed it."

"And right now we don't need him. I promised you I would help protect the kid. This is not protection."

Din sighed.

"Heron?" Din asked.

"You want me to help? I don't even know who you're talking about. At least tell me more before you ask me what I think."

"Ran is a leader of a group of bounty hunters. They work only for themselves and for each other. They're known for pulling dangerous stunts and never giving enough details about the mission. Take almost any mission if it pays well. And they will easily betray anyone without hesitation."

"Why would you ever even think about working for these people?" Heron questioned, "You said yourself that you don't trust them! You're literally telling me why they can't be trusted and then trying to convince us that we should do this."

"Fine then. It's settled. We're not going to go work with Ran."

Din climbed back up into the cockpit with Cole to come up with a strategy. They needed work, but the bounties on their heads were everywhere. Everyone was looking for them. The child cooed and crawled into Heron's lap. Heron opened his book and began reading again. The kid giggled in delight and Heron started reading to him. It was nice to have someone to look after.

I'm sorry that I will be skipping chapter 6 of the mandalorian. I wanted to get season 1 done as fast as I can. I didn't really see any importance in this chapter and decided that I would work my way around it, when it comes up in later ones. I hope you liked this short chapter and stay safe.
