Chapter 12: Split Up (Pt 3)

A/n: This is the second to last chapter of this little arc. Hope you enjoy.

3rd Person Pov.

Itsuki woke up from her bed and looked around the room. It's been 3 days since the incident with Fuutarou and their step dad. Each morning and all the other hours of the day are tense and awkward between the quints and their step dad. Miku, Itsuki, and Nino won't even talk to Maruo because of what he did. Yotsuba and Ichika talked to him but just a little bit. Just enough to know how they're doing. The days would be very slow and quiet without anyone talking.

Itsuki got out of her bed and but on a hoodie. It was Fuutarou's. None of the quints ever washed the hoodie to make sure his scent would never go away. They also wore their different hoodies 24/7 around the house. As Itsuki slipped the hoodie on over her, she smelled the scent of Fuutarou and she started to become sad. Sad because Fuutarou wasn't there anymore.

She made her way to her door and twisted the knob to let the sunlight in her room. As she stepped out, she looked at the window letting in the sunlight with a sad look. Itsuki stared out this window for a bit until she was broken from her trance once Mike opened her door. She turned around and looked over to her older sister. She too had a sad and gloomy expressions on her face. She was also wearing Fuutarou's hoodie. Miku stepped out of her room and greeted Itsuki.

"Ohaiyu." Mike said gloomily.

"Ohaiyu." Itsuki replied back, also with a gloomy tone.

The two made their way to the stairs where they both went down together. As they were walking down, they could smell the breakfast and they could see a pink haired girl cooking breakfast. Itsuki and Miku got off the steps and made their way over to Nino who was cooking something. Itsuki noticed she was still wearing Fuutarou's hoodie.

"Ohaiyu." Miku and Itsuki greeted their sister.

She didn't reply. The two sisters knew how she was feeling so they just left her alone to complete the breakfast. Miku and Itsuki sat down on the couch and slumped there. Both of them laid there and just stared at the tv that was currently turned off. There was nothing to talk about since the quints isolated themselves from anything in the outside world. Also they had their phones taken away so that was another factor. As the two were laying there, they heard some footsteps coming down the stairs. They didn't bother to turn around to see and they didn't care at all. Once the footsteps reached the bottom of the stairs, the steps quickly made its way over to the couch.

"Ohaiyu." Yotsuba said, in a monotone voice. She also took a seat at a chair next to the couch.

"Ohaiyu." Itsuki and Miku replied.

The three of them sat there and were listening to Nino cook the breakfast of the day.

After some more minutes of waiting, the breakfast was finally done. Nino grabbed a plate for herself and put some food on it. She then made her way up to her room and shut the door. Yotsuba, Miku, and Itsuki were the only ones left and they two got plates for themselves. They got their own servings and then went back up to their respective rooms. The quints all ate quietly in each of their rooms while thinking about Fuutarou. (Ichika later got food after waking up late.)

Some time passed since their breakfast and they were all getting hungry. 4 of the quints met up in the living roof and sat there. They were given information that their step dad would be coming home late and that they would have to make their own dinner. Itsuki decided to go upstairs and get Nino so she could cook for all of them. As she made her way up the stairs, she could hear some faint sobbing coming from Nino's room. She made her way over and knocked on the door. After no response she turned the knob and pushed the door open.

As the door opened, she could see her sisters curled up in a ball, crying her eyes out. Itsuki quickly made her way over to her.

"Hey what's wrong?" Itsuki asked worriedly.

Nino wouldn't answer and the tears kept flowing from her eyes.

"I know I know, I miss him too. I miss so much." Itsuki said, with tears also forming in her eyes.

Nino mumbled something while also sniffling her snot.

"What was that?" Itsuki asked.

"Why *sniff* doesn't *sniff* papa *sniff* just let *sniff* us *sniff* be with him?" Nino said with all the sniffs and tears coming out.

Itsuki was now also crying.

"I don't know. He loves us, why is he making us go through this?" Itsuki asked the air while looking up.

The two sisters just sat there crying together.

Miku came in after a while and saw the scene. She understood and went out to get the food in her own. She slipped on some socks and put some shoes on too. Mike then opened their door and went over to the elevator that brought her down to the lobby. She entered the elevator and pressed the L button to get her to the lobby. After a few seconds of waiting, she reached the lobby and went to the door that would let her out. She swiped her card and opened the door and walked out. The cool breeze brushed against her skin and she felt a shiver down her spine. It was even colder now that it was night and there was no heat from the sun to warm her up.

She started to walk towards the nearest convenience store to buy some noodles for all of them. As she was walking she thought about where would Fuutarou be right now and how he's doing.

"He's probably fine right now." Miku told herself.

She continued her walk and after a 3 minutes of walking, she made it to a Seven-Eleven. She entered the store and made her way to the ramen area. She pulled out 5 noodles for all of them. They were also a pretty big sized container, so 5 would be enough. But, after some thinking, she thought "What if someone wants more?" So, she bought 10 noodles. Miku paid for the noodles and carried her bags out. She one plastic bag in each of her hands and they were fairly light.

She then continued her walk back to their step dads apartment. She walked and was looking at all the other houses. Some of them looked nice and were fit to hold a family. After that thought, she started to think about having a family with Fuutarou. She thought about that for the majority of her walk back to the apartment. As she was walking back, a hand pulled her aside. She could see the door to the apartment and thought this was it for her. Mike thought she was being kidnapped and there was nothing that she could do. She was too sad and gloomy to do anything. Eventually the hand stopped pulling her and they stopped under a light. Once they were under the light, Miku could clearly see the face of her supposed kidnapper.

Uesugi Fuutarou.

Her eyes lit up so quickly and she went to give him a hug. She hugged him so hard and Fuutarou hugged her hard too. Both of them missed each other so much and they were so happy to see each other again. While still hugging each other, Miku said,

"I thought I would never see you again." Miku told Fuutarou.

"Same here. But I came to see you again." Fuutarou said.

"I'm glad." Miku smiled.

"Come on, let's go see Nino and them. They really need you right now." Mike said while trying to pull Fuutarou.

"I'm sorry I can't. I don't want to risk losing you again. I'm sorry." Fuutarou told Miku.

"Our papa isn't coming home until late at night." Miku said still pulling.

Fuutarou pulled back, "But he'll probably check cameras right? And what if he does another one of those surprise show ups?"

"Oh yeah..." Miku said and she stopped pulling.

The two stood there and stared at each other.

"You still look really beautiful." Fuutarou said.

Mike blushed at the compliment, "Well thank you."

"Look, I came here because I have a plan to convince your step dad." Fuutarou said.

"Well what is it?" Miku asked.

Fuutarou told her the extent of the plan. He also told her to tell the plan to them as well. To even make it more believable, Fuutarou gave Miku his phone to show the other quints if they doubted Miku. Mike understood the plan and was ready to execute it. It was fairly simple, a lot of it was going to happen inside of the apartment. Miku gave Fuutarou one final hug and left. Fuutarou said bye and Miku said it back as well.

While walking back, Miku had a huge smile on her face and was now happy due to that meeting with Fuutarou. She quickly made her way back up to all of her sisters. Miku opened the door and she saw all of her sisters there. Nino and Itsuki were still sad but were no longer crying. The 4 of them looked up and noticed the change in expression for Miku.

"Miku, why are you so happy?" Ichika asked.

"You will never believe who I saw." Miku said.

The quints who were uninterested still watched their sister.

Miku pulled out Fuutarou's phone. The 4 quints sitting then realized whose phone that was after seeing the blue case.

"You saw him?" Nino asked shocked.

"Yeah. I tried to get him to come up but he didn't want to risk getting caught again." Miku said.

"Oh that son of a-" Nino was cut off.

"He told me about a plan that would get all of back to him." Miku said.

"What is it?" All the quints asked eagerly.

Miku then told them about the plan. They all agreed and decided to do it tomorrow. All the quints were now filled with excitement and the gloomy emotions they had were all gone.

All the quints also took turns holding Fuutarou's phone.

A/n: Next chapter will be the finale then the Halloween chap will come. Looking at it now, I might be able to get the Halloween chap out in time. But who knows, it depends on how fast I write. Also I'm sorry for the shorter chapters. Lately the chapters have been really short with only less than 2000 words. In the final chap it will be long. (hopefully) Well, I hope you enjoyed this chapter (It was a bit sad) and I will see you in the next one!
